I managed to hit a 54.024. I don't understand how aliens can run under the 52'...


I bought the Junior right before my 1st C race today. After that I checked what daily car gift I won and it was... The Junior...:boggled:

Maybe '53s are possible, but yeah... 52s are wayyyyy too fast for me :lol:
 
Yesterday Tsukuba was brilliant. Should have had the E30 M3 as the official introduction. But the RX7 was also brilliant loved that oversteer. And that brilliant beep at 7000RPM but still managing to pull 8000RPM. But I would love the MR2 on Tsukuba as well. Would be utterly brilliant I think !

Today I saw the Gr X on daily race C ! Was this for the first time ? Would that mean you can drive the 20million Jaguar XJ and Ferrari 330P ?? But would not be fair since many people would chose the fastest gr X cars. So in the end you can finally drive those 2 cars in sport mode but nobody would do that ? I think many people are waiting for a sport mode race with the Jag and Ferrari.

Since I dont have them I am waiting for some insights on this. Of course as a “community” we could all chose to drive the JAG and Ferrari anyway. Would also be a nice message to PD.

Unfortunately the corner cutting is massively exaggerated on this combo - I've done it as it gives you at least 0.5 secs, and that's not even doing it well :D I'm on a 53.3 but 52s are well within reach. 51s on the other hand are pretty nuts. The car loves to try and swap ends if you corner too hard, scrubbing all of your speed and ruining the lap!
 
Penalty alghoritm still sucks! I think people are starting to exploit these kind of situations because it happenes very often to me. I was totally clean here, the guy next to me just rammed into me and I received 4 seconds penalty, he received 1 second.

At the end of the race my SR was red, although this was the only contact I made. His SR was blue.



If there is anyone in touch with PD please send this video to them. This was a ridiculous penalty. Totally unfair.
 
Has anyone tried the difference between CSA on weak and CSA on strong with the Red Bull in Daily Race C?

Just gave it a shot after watching a few of the top 10 times and the car is vastly easier to drive with CSA set to strong. Just knocked over 1 second off my time, so either I got a hell of a lot better or everyone should be using CSA set to strong with this car. 1:54.9 is quite a step over the 1:56 I was doing.

I had an interesting race today. Race C and P2's qualifying was 3 seconds behind mine, so it's pretty boring until Lap 7 when I started lapping some people. There's these 2 guys who were battling for position and I was ghosting the two because I'm about to lap them. I followed them for a bit and their fight was so fun to watch :lol: the perma-ghosting led to some very interesting see-through overtakes :lol:
 
I did race C with the counter steer assist turned on and the car is awful losing 2 seconds on the hairpin alone, it caused a load of crashes too with my car pretty much stopping on the apex every lap.

E - Or maybe it's stability control, either way something is badly wrong and the car is driving really awful.

CSA is a cheat and I refuse to use it. I think it should be banned from Sport mode.

I tried CSA after watching the number 1 lap, but it just confirmed my hatred of CSA after one or two laps - it feels completely numb and it gets in the way of my driving style, I much prefer to countersteer myself. It may be marginally slower but I'd rather enjoy myself and work to keep the car straight!

Ah ok cool. Was a relatively clean start to be honest. The car bogged down for me but managed to gain some positions anyway. Ended up P4 from P6 on the grid in the end with a couple of decent battles along the way

I always do TC 1 at standing starts to help me. I don't know why it's inconsistent with this car though; sometimes I bog down, sometimes the launch is perfect. All I do is mash the pedal

It was only like the second time ever I'd done a standing start so was cautious on the throttle and basically bogged down

The penalty seemed reasonable to me. You had no overlap going into the turn. Yes, he blew the turn and went wide but you still took the corner like he didn't exist and you both met at the late apex. I feel like it should have been an equal penalty as he made no effort to concede the inside once you were there.

I cannot really judge where the front of your car is as I am used to cockpit view but it seems to me that you didn't have enough overlap so that the other driver needs to leave space for you. That is probably also what the penalty is based on although it seems pretty clear that none of you caused the contact on purpose.

If I did that I'd get a similar penalty to what he got, if someone does it to me we'd likely both get a 1 or a 2 second penalty, makes sense doesn't it. Although I have not actually been hit by an alien driver yet to see what happens then, only lower rated guys which gives the results above.

In truth cases like this should be a nothing other than a SR drop, not sure why it isn't.

How is CSA a cheat if the developers built it into the game? My perception of a cheat is hacking into the programming to somehow make your car drive faster or increase driver skill through abnormal means. CSA is part of the game. People that use it are not “cheating”. Perhaps it makes them a better driver, which would only benefit everyone else they are racing against. Your choice to “refuse to use it” is your choice. Don’t chastise others who are using it by insinuating they are cheating. Lighten up bro....
 
The absence of certain sound effects is really throwing me off. I rely so much on sounds in this game, especially since I don't play in-game music anymore. It's not just the engine/transmission sounds. The tire squeaks and terrain changes are also pretty integral to the overall experience. I imagine it'll get patched within the next few days.

I raced the junior in the lobby last night. We did grids starts on soft tires. I figured out that you really can just mash the throttle on RS tires and still keep traction. Not sure about RH tires but i can't imagine it's that far off since I had so much traction on softs that I didn't even have any wiggle.

Holy crap, though. The redline *ping* inside the RX-7 '90 is really annoying in cockpit cam. I think it's actually worse than the RX-7 '02. Is it really that bad in real life or is it exaggerated?
 
My sounds went earlier, I therefore missed the warning squeals from my tires and kept sliding off, usual backward after swapping ends. Restarted my PS4 and they came back.

It’s not cheating, but we shouldn’t be arguing about CSA
...
because it shouldn’t even be in the game (as it is).

It needs to limit your ability to reach the full potential of the car much more than it currently does. Yes, some people say “it feels too restrictive” etc., but as far as ultimate potential lap times go, you can still get world records with CSA on strong.

inb4 “But I use a controller and I need it to stay competitive against wheel users” >>>>that’s why Polyphony Digital have built in assists to the pad.

Yes it’s good to help those in need keep their cars on the track and have some clean safe racing.

MY SOLUTION:
- Make CSA slightly over-restrictive

RESULT:
Everyone is happy!

Can you imagine if using the auto-brake assist was just as competitive as those manually trail-braking? Please try to see CSA from this perspective.

Have you heard anyone complain that auto-braking/steering isn’t competitive enough? I don’t think it will change if CSA is implemented properly.
