Tried some laps in each Race. C is definitely a no-go for me. Cars are nice but Fuji...
Race A didn't look so fun, more like I was dragging myself there. Race B was cool but fast, lots of RCZ too.

I am going to try VW for Race B. I seem to have the best control and get the fastest time with the Scirocco (almost a second better than the TT and 2 seconds better than the RCZ).

Definitely a mix of cars in the 2 race C I was in, but driver ability was even more varied. Both races had an Alien simply drive away from us. Mostly stable drivers in the Porsche and the Mazda. Lots of spinning Mercedes all over the track and it seems the Jag doesnt have a brake pedal?
2 jag drivers in close contact with me. Both divebombed turn 1 massively and the entry to the chicane. All through the race. Managed to get a gap after getting hit in one of them and they fell back. Now I just need to get my line up the hill stabilised to do closer racing.

I still hate the middle part up the hill.

After that I realized I was maxed on cash so picked up another unicorn. Now to begin saving again.

I am stoked here!

Been playing GTS for two whole years and not won a single race - Come close but no win - Until today that is...

Race B. Qualified with a 2:05.xx on a controller. Two wins and two poles!

Absolutely stoked. Time for a beer or three now!

Cheers.

Ian.

last sector is possibly the worst / least enjoyable sector of any track in the world
It really is. It's like you have to drive looking out your side window the whole time, and so ponderous that it's like a toddler drew it. I mean, I can see what they THOUGHT it would be, in terms of a challenge, but it's a huge swing and miss and I hate it.

Good thing everybody’s struggling there so its lose - lose :D

I'd say the last sector of Catalunya has it beat easily. There's at least some satisfaction to getting the trail braking perfect through those never-ending corners in the final sector at Fuji. I agree that the chicane at Fuji is awful and useless. I don't even understand why it's there! Without it, there's plenty of runoff area beyond the corner, and it's not like the cars are approaching at obscene speeds anyway. It's still better than the "come to a dead stop and execute a 3-point turn if you want to have a hope of getting through me" final chicane at Catalunya, plus the "the slower you go the tighter i get" left-hander after the back straight.

The chicane at Fuji is one of the best overtake spots of the whole track .

I have been running the 787b because I love it. Gained positions every time, I'm not very good at qualfying but has ok race pace in these cars.
So far I have seen 1, one, jaguar. It was run off by a Nissan in T3, and quitted after that.

There is an overwhelmingly amount of Sauber Mercedes in the race. Because people doing guides on YouTube has declared it the best car for the race.
Now I am in low B and there is also an overwhelmingly amount of drivers who can't control the Sauber Mercedes in section 3. And in T1....
Exactly. I explained to my wife, while we're watching my replay, people choose those other cars because someone posted the fastest time. She says, players should understand it's more about the driver than the car.

That's all good. Players can keep choosing the others. It makes my races kind of realistic that I'm the lone 787B. ;)

How about these? :)

I tested all the C cars, and did get fastest time with sauber. 1:28.026.But man that thing understeer bad
Porsche was only .3 sec slower, and much more consistent to drive. Best front was in Mazda, but it was .8 slower.
anyone tested the porsche for tyre wear?

Race C is a blast , starting from the back just to see everybody struggling with that last sector, kryptonite!! Shame we dont got liveries, 13 laps with a plain sauber :nervous:
i know right it looks like one of those stainless steel camping trailers..... i always thought it must get real hot in those...LOL

To me, the best tracks are one where you feel you can attack the corners. Now I utterly STINK at suzuka but even the esses there, you can attack them and find time. Fuji and autopolis, remind me of Brno, just brutal negative corner after negative corner, Fuji is a wall of pain, honestly loathe it.

I actually enjoy fuji, although 90's fuji layout would be the bomb here.

Catalunya is the worst Track though. It's just not fun. There isn't a single fun corner after t1

Second or third week in online racing now and some of you are incredible drivers. I feel like I put a pretty good lap, maybe i can improve ~1-2 at best on Lagua Seca. but my best lap is still 1:38 lol. and I'm looking at the top leaderboard and people are doing 1:33. crazy.

edit: I'm not THAT slow I guess. qualified 2nd!

I'd say it's a good think I have an Alt account for Daily Races... but after trying B and C today, I don't even want to race either on an Alt.

Race B with Gr4 is quickly becoming a cage match, with all the same FWD cars scrambling for traction and using the other guys' fenders to steer. And with only 3 laps, good bye SR.

Race C: "hey you guys love Group C cars, right!?! Well, here you go! But have fun on that idiotic modern Fuji layout, and good luck managing the turbo lag coming on with those hard tires... but we gave you Group C so you should love it!!" It's awful and not fun to race. I'll be skipping out the rest of the week, I think.

Be patient on the 1st lap at Laguna Seca. Here, you'll see me making an idiot out myself at the 3rd turn.
I thought the guy in front of me had slowed down more than he actually did. Once I realized it was not going to work, I still pushed ahead, hoping he would back off or swerve to his left. He didn't, and he really shouldn't have. He let me know he didn't like what I did, and I don't blame him.
As you can see, there are plenty of people going off the track. I should have been more patient.
After serving my penalty, I lost most of the positions I gained. :O
