why, why, why 3 laps at Maggiorie??? 4 surely?? Madness.
Yeah, makes no sense. This in turn means 10 minutes waiting for the next race. Could’ve easily squeezed in another or even two laps more and still have time for the next race.

And good God how boring it is with everyone using the awful TT Cup. It may be quick around many tracks with the current BoP but what a terrible car it is to drive. Why are so many people useless sheep? What’s wrong with these people?

Be patient on the 1st lap at Laguna Seca. Here, you'll see me making an idiot out myself at the 3rd turn.
I thought the guy in front of me had slowed down more than he actually did. Once I realized it was not going to work, I still pushed ahead, hoping he would back off or swerve to his left. He didn't, and he really shouldn't have. He let me know he didn't like what I did, and I don't blame him.
As you can see, there are plenty of people going off the track. I should have been more patient.
After serving my penalty, I lost most of the positions I gained. :O

wow, absolute madness :lol::lol::lol:

Not a fan of Fuji, either. Yet statistically, it's one of my strongest tracks. Go figure.

Replace Fuji with Suzuka & I fit right in.

After just doing the Gr.4 race at Maggiore, I'm feeling like the bop is not very well calculated.
The front-wheel drive cars should have a couple hundred pounds added to them. :indiff:

What did you try with?

To me, the best tracks are one where you feel you can attack the corners. Now I utterly STINK at suzuka but even the esses there, you can attack them and find time.

Just wait until you learn how to attack the Degnars. :mischievous:

I just switched to abs weak and wow, I have been doing it wrong this whole time

I learned that months ago & it changed my driving style noticeably.

i feel very stupid lol

last sector is possibly the worst / least enjoyable sector of any track in the world
Definitely. If I even had a proper braking point, it would be much better. What are you guys using for braking points?

I actually think the TT is one of the best FFs to drive straight off the box, mainly due to being quite stiff and low. The others just pitch forward a lot while the TT feels like a rear-wheel drive car.

Which one are you guys picking for C? I picked the Sauber on my first run because I really like the car, but man that understeer! Is the 787B better?

At least let us apply the liveries in our collections. I don't care about collecting mileage on my owned cars, but everyone being in the stock livery is boring and hurts the ability to recognize dangerous drivers.

Its probably the biggest thing stopping me from entering Race A each week. The Livery Editor is a fantastic feature, PD are doing themselves a disservice by restricting players from using cars with their own liveries.

I'd say it's a good think I have an Alt account for Daily Races... but after trying B and C today, I don't even want to race either on an Alt.

Race B with Gr4 is quickly becoming a cage match, with all the same FWD cars scrambling for traction and using the other guys' fenders to steer. And with only 3 laps, good bye SR.

Race C: "hey you guys love Group C cars, right!?! Well, here you go! But have fun on that idiotic modern Fuji layout, and good luck managing the turbo lag coming on with those hard tires... but we gave you Group C so you should love it!!" It's awful and not fun to race. I'll be skipping out the rest of the week, I think.
Had some time to try Daily Race A. Porsche is really nice to drive there, surprisingly. But races are a coin flip. I’m had races I thought I would win where I ended up last. But when you get some separation from the pack and race clean, it’s a pure one. The odds of that are low though. With this penalty system and the typical disregard for sportsmanship in Dailies, that’ll probably be all for me this week.

Also: are you allowed medium tires at Fuji? I mean, we are all in equal cars but I’m at a loss for how people are pulling me like I’m on different tires every turn. It’s impossible. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong at that track. But I’m hopeless.

Yeah, I don't get the standard livery thing. We can use liveries in Race B and at any other time. Can't be a server issue. Maybe it's a kind of Shuffle race/suggested car issue. Where, they are unable to offer players to use their own cars at the same as players that have to choose a car they don't own. Maybe a loading issue?

Nope. No medium tires, but how to handle and drive the Gr C cars is as different from normal race cars as N cars. How to coast the turns and nail the throttle at the right point makes a massive difference. Traction control eats speed as well. Throttling up with wheels on a curb will just stall you and wiggle the car lots. Rev the nuts off the things as well.

Also depends on where you are losing out, race or qualifying. I raced last night and a guy I out qualify has a slightly better race pace overall due to the different line he can take through 2 of the turns that I just cant confidently replicate yet.

It looks like them not being able to handle the garage cars with specially provided at the same time - and not being able to allow more than 2 custom selected garage cars. Its a ridiculous problem, given most players can afford the specially provided cars in Race A in the first place. Its the Group 1/2/3/4 cars that are prohibitive to new starters.

It doesn't even need to be garage cars, when you select the provided car and the little menu of colours/liveries comes up, one of the options should be "choose from library/collection", easy as that.

Lots and lots of throttle control, especially on sector 3. I also noticed that when I'm exiting out of certain turns, I'm accelerating just a bit to try to get the good 'ol turbo just as I fully accelerate out. It does get a bit of wheelspin, so it can get sketchy really fast.

I think the most cars we got to choose were from the Daily Race JDM N300 races. The FIA N800 race was probably the second most.
Matter of fact, we couldn't use a garage car.

Just brings up a query of why PD have multiple liveries for some cars and not others. Just flip flop the colours.

Further to my earlier post regarding my first wins and first poles...

Credit should be given to Mistah_MCA here! I have been watching his channel on Youtube. These lap guides are simply brilliant and well worth a watch for anyone wanting to improve their lap times. I know there are many many others who also take time and effort to upload guides and help videos - Kudos to those players also.

Thanks from me to Mistah_MCA for helping me record my first victory!!!

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Group C at Fuji is definitely good fun, but again not so good for the SR, went with the Jag as apparently no one else is using it, race 1 was a pretty mixed bag, only 11 Saubers, and 2 or 3 of reach of the others. Avoided the T1 carnage, and was up to P12 from a no-quali P18 start. Picked up another place at the chicane, and it settled down a bit after that. Was behind a wayward Mazda driver, had to back out a couple of times with his swerve-blocking, but then tapped his back end coming out of the chicane, we were both fine, but he got a 1s penalty. I might have waited for a clean driver, but carried on until a couple of laps later when he comes flying into the chicane from 3 places back, hits me off and gives me 3s of penalty. Caught him again at the start of the final lap, but he spun himself off at T1, so I grabbed P10 in the end.

Went for a second race with a couple of quali laps, started P10, but my internet dropped out just as the race started, was briefly excited as I flew past everyone, but then the disconnect message popped up. Overall I lost 1200 DR, but more upsetting with the bumping and the disconnect, I'm down to SR B for the first time since day 4!!

Mistah has a Patreon page where we can support him. He is too shy to promote himself so we should.
I am proudly member of his Patreon.

This definitely depends on your lobby. Had 1 swerving punter in the jag last night. They weren't dirty, just had no race craft, no awareness of their car and surroundings. Made driving near them an ugly stressful time. Tonight I had a guy I have raced lots this year and another one I have seen a bit. We had a solid 12 laps of back and forth battling for positions 2-4. All of us held each at least twice. I ended up getting p2, but only because the other driver in front missed his brake point for turn 1 last lap. All 3 finished within 1.3 seconds. All 3 of us got CRB. This is what racing is about.👍

How does the matchup system work for Daily Races? Last week I went from a mid C to a very low D.. I was always getting matched with B to several A+ drivers, so I was started near the back and would climb a few places each race, but still the DR dropped and still matched with A drivers (I was generally 2-4 seconds slower everywhere - even got lapped a couple of times on race C )

I wasn't looking forward to this week very much, but now I'm matched with similar D and C drivers again and I'm actually enjoying the racing.

Yeah, I don't understand that either. I've been a relatively regular SR S driver but I am a DR C and climbing to B is hard for me, specially with most of my matchups. Can't get near the fastest times of higher B and A drivers.

Daily Race Matchmaking is done by SR primarily, it takes the top A12/B16/C20 SR 99 drivers for room 1, then repeats until there are none left. Your DR is of little matter in this process, it’s just a secondary sorting number. This is how you end up in rooms that go from A+ to D, odds are it was in a race where your SR was lower than 90, or there wasn’t many people playing at that time.
