Had a long stint of shifts at work but finally managed to get some laps in at Dragon Trail qualifiers :) Only tried 2 cars so far but they are not exactly miles off the leading cars tbh... Gonna try the Huracan tonight 👍 Here's my best laps so far... Love that chicane of death :D:tup:

GT40 Test car

V12 Vantage

Has anyone tested the Maclaren F1 here yet? I have high hopes for that with the top end speed?

I rewatched your replay in the GT, we drive the car completely differently! I shift way later than you and usually on the rev limiter at the start I keep it in 5th instead of going to 6th gear for T2 than the turn before the death chicane I brake later and take it in 2nd to get the car rotated then quickly go into 3rd once I feel the rear end start to slip.

So finally going for a trophy I should have cleared a long time ago! 91 wins.

Which race out of this week's three is best for an easy win at DR D without qualifying or a good qualiy lap indicator to win!

I set myself a challenge a while back that I want to have that trophy before Lewis Hamilton equals that record in real life and since there is no GP this weekend and I have time I want to seal it in the bank along with the rest of the platinum trophy (see other threads).

I think I drive all the Gr3 cars quite similar tbh.. old habits I suppose :P I tried the Huracan last night but it never suited my drive style and kept messing up the chicane on exit :P Here's a couple more cars I tested...

Gr3 Beetle

Gr3 Citroen Racecar

The Citroen for me is the smoothest drive.. I had a lap almost half a sec faster 1'03.6 T2 got through the chicane of death and was on for a very low 1'37 and nervously misjudged the very last turn and sent the car into oblivion so close to the end :ouch: I recommend the Citroen to those who haven't considered it

I managed to beat my Beetle time by 3/10ths to a 39.2, I reakon I left maybe 2/10ths out there at best so where the additional, i dunno, 1 second comes from IS BEYOND ME. Cannot fathom how you do a 37, my lap looks bang on.

Racing with the Aston is very different to the beetle. It's so strong in a straight line that holding people off is far easier.

Good to see you improve mate 👍 Keep at it and the the laps will just keep getting shorter

Probably Race B. Quick turnaround, chicane luck and probably more players.

Others 2 are good too, just may take longer or harder matching/less players. Good luck.

Run hard first plus burning fuel, so when you have mediums you will be faster. The other thing though is you might catch traffic

That's my strategy. It can be fun watching people struggle as you pass them by.

A - N200 at Big Willow (5 laps - seems long for a race A?!)
B - Gr 4 at Suzuka (3 laps)

Not really long for an A. Just wondering the car. PD loves one-make Miata TC & BRZ/86 twins. I don't think B will be worth the time. Either A or C next week.

Race C is up now as well and looks good, Gr.2 at Spa, 9 laps, 2x fuel and 8x tyres with mediums available and mandatory, plus grid start with false start check, T1 is going to be a mess!!

Hards will likely be required with the mediums available. Spa might be doable for Gr. 2.

Arghh, what a frustrating one I just had at Seaside.

Started 2nd, everything up until the downhill straight after the “S curves” was fine but at the end of that straight when I was going to turn in a guy in 4th or 5th comes and basically t-bones me, which obviously puts me near the very back. Some unpredictable and aggressive driving from people back there warranted a couple more minus SR for inexplicable reasons and that one race got me from 99 to 67. The leader bottled it as well so could’ve been an easy win. Yawn.

The dude who t-boned me explained that the reason for it was that his TV at that moment put up this big standby warning. Apology accepted, I’ve experienced that myself and it was a logical explanation. Still frustrating though. Quite the timing.

Next race I get disconnected for no reason. Come on! :banghead:

If I were you, I would have just taken a break or else I would have put my tv on a sudden stand-bye mode.

Haha, could’ve perhaps happened but I feel motivated to salvage what I can so... bagged myself another win in the next one if all goes well I’ll end at 79 for today. Just one more.

Hmmm so far this week, on the ones I screenshotted Ive picked up a total of 162 positions.
I’d say maybe 130-140 were people crashing. Maybe more, so many crashes!
Well that and guys pit stopping on c race...

I'm proud of my black mamba kobe livery and suit/helmet cause i had to learn how to upload decals to make them :D

I don't get to race as much these days a I used to, so that makes every race "important" to me. On Tuesday night, I had this incident happen. I had been catching & picking off drivers fairly easily when I came up behind this WRX. Needless to say, after this race, he called me a dumbass. I feel like he assumed certain things that were not realistic to expect. I feel like he turned in on me expecting that I wouldn't attempt a pass. For the record, I don't regret the move & would do it again if presented with the same scenario again.

C race is a brilliant one to no stop in rwd. Just gotta watch the assault of ff lap one early from behind you.
The m4 is fast on top on the long straight, the ff jump out mid range but top end you can take them, plus if you are patient and smooth you can carry more speed in the technical sections and gain tons of time.
Best is if you don’t get bashed lap one you can sit behind and over rev in draft to burn fuel weight off.
I love tire wear races so much. St Croix is a fantastic track, It flows like water.
Great race c, this, strategy race...

Sure from your statement above, you may disagree with my opinion.

Nothing wrong with the move, you were side by side, just wonder, if he had actually taken the outside line, would you have managed to go two wide through the corner, or would you have squeezed him off the track cause of how much speed you were carrying?

But I guess that's racing. Someone had to pull out and neither of you was willing to.

It's way past my bedtime, but I got caught up doing hot laps at St Croix. I think I'm finally starting to learn the lines. Spent about an hour and a half lapping...first the Aston, doing 48's and stuck, switched to the Ferarri and the times started dropping. Chased another Ferarri's ghost and started to get a handle on the track. Not looking at the map so much. Got into the 46's and stalled out. Getting bored, so I decided to try the RCZ since it was getting some good times. Unreal. It's so much faster, it's not even fair. I never race front drivers, yet on lap 6 I hit the 43's for the first time. Did 8 laps that stint, and my optimal was a 42.7. Set my current best later...a mid 43 I think, but the first one I did was followed by a 42... if I hadn't blown the last (ok, 2nd to last) corner. I was over a second ahead at that point, and watched about 1.5 seconds bleed out before the finish line. Couldn't put another lap together, and finally called it quits after taking 3/10ths off my best.
Now I just need to find something fun to race. I'll give the Beemer a shot tomorrow. If I can do 44's, I'll race it!

I’m loving this race. My Corvette handles beautifully on the long flat corners, and has a really good top end.
Last race, I qualified 2nd, hit 3rd and got a penalty and down to 8th. I thought I was done for, but I pulled off one or two overtakes and the rest who were ahead pitted! 3rd who was attacking me at the start DNFed for some reason, so 2nd place was mine!
Overall the races were pretty close, the race before this, someone who was ahead of me(guy in 4th I think) dropped to 17th for a 1 minute penalty!

Not the first time this guy has been mentioned either. Filthy driver. If he can't win clean, he takes people out. Come across him before and know to keep my distance.

Add to that a willingness to tank his SR/DR to claim "easy" wins at lower ranks. No wonder he's got so many wins to his name.
Yes, I've met this guy a few times too - always wary of him. I'm always careful when around drivers with 666 in their name, or Psycho, or Rammer, or Dirty.......

So if it was me you did this to I’d be upset with you because this is one of my pet hates. Trying the move was absolutely ok, but if you’re going up the inside like that you need to be able to get through the corner without pushing the other car off. At that entry speed, I don’t think there’s any way you manage to leave a car width on the outside without contact there.

The WRX hits him on the door when he turns in though, so @NoStopN is clearly ahead of him at that point and the onus is now on the WRX not to cause a collision.

If NoStop was running too hot for the inside line the WRX can go for the cutback, and neither of them got the chance to try and go side by side through the corner because the WRX turned in too aggressively.

If he had left room then NoStop could've slowed down to leave room on the outside, but the WRX made that impossible with his move.

I agree that the contact occurred where it did because of the WRX. No problem with that at all. My point is just that if the WRX eases up and leaves room, he probably gets forced off anyway because NoStop went in too hot.
I was actually more perturbed by the dive on the tight left hander two turns earlier which may have influenced the WRX’s approach to this incident. (Not saying that’s defensible or smart).

I felt like being on the medium tire while both he & the chasing RCZ were on hard tires gave me the advantage. I also felt like I could arrest enough speed to give room. But due to the contact, we will never know if that's true.

If the WRX hadn't turned when they did & I made contact, I would give the spot back. I've gladly done it before. Yes, I likely would have cost him a place or 2, but I do own up to my mistakes. I'll agree that I went in a bit hot, & likely would have had to stay on the brakes longer. If I was able to avoid contact in that scenario, he would have likely pulled back ahead.

A little bit of backstory: I caught up to the WRX on that tight left hander leading up to the opening of the video. I have had problems finding a consistent braking point for that corner. I went in too hot there as well. I bumped him at that corner & nearly spun myself out trying not to punt him into the barrier. As you see from the video itself, on the penalty straight, he (for some reason) brushes up against the outside barrier & scrubs a little speed. How am I to know what's going on in his head, his room, or if he has a malfunctioning controller. I feel like he knew I was either coming or I was there because he didn't get as close to the apex as most of us do. I did back off after realizing that the pass couldn't be done in that corner or else our contact there would have been detrimental.

I mean if you don’t get to race much you’re not gonna dawdle about. Good job-having fun! It’s a game for cryin out loud!

IMHO this one is on you. I just think you don't get alongside him enough to make that move, especially given there is plenty of straight road ahead of you to keep going and make the pass safely. It's tight, sorta 55/45 and technically i guess you can claim the high ground but I wouldn't be happy in the WRX either as you leave it so late he has already decided to turn in.

I would probably do as you did. If nobody backs down you can stay on the brakes a little longer so both fit after the curve and likely you loose the position but there's a good chance you will get it back by next turn.
