Some people have zero awareness on track. Last night I went up the inside of someone on the left turn before the really long straight at St Croix and was slightly ahead coming out of the corner giving him space on the outside when they turned in on me, so they were completely oblivious to the fact I was there despite being an A/S driver and then had the cheek to call me a dive bomber lol.

The lack of awareness or lack of consideration is my point of view with my video. The WRX knew he was under pressure for that position. What if I was in 6th with the RCZ trying to make that pass. Would the WRX have done the same to the RCZ in a similar situation?

IMHO this one is on you. I just think you don't get alongside him enough to make that move, especially given there is plenty of straight road ahead of you to keep going and make the pass safely. It's tight, sorta 55/45 and technically i guess you can claim the high ground but I wouldn't be happy in the WRX either as you leave it so late he has already decided to turn in.

The question of whether I was alongside enough could be debated until the end of time. But, at the moment he turned in, I was there. Part of the reason I don’t feel bad about the situation is I watched the race replay of his car. He was pushing & banging into other cars at the start of the race. He hovered around 14th for those first few laps until pit stops. His race craft is not really any cleaner than mine from what I’ve seen. I admit to driving into turn one hot, already said that. But I had multiple races in the Supra leading up to that race & knew what it was capable of. I passed numerous cars right after the bridge without contact & we all know that is a dangerous spot on track.

I saw 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other in your video. Easy to assign blame to both but it's easier to right it off as a clumsy live and learn racing incident on a corner that feels designed specifically for your scenario. Scary corner with a merging pit exit ghosted car and an armco trap on the outside waiting to say hi.

Speaking of scary pit lane exits, how do you deal with merging cars? I don't think I've ever had to give way to them before but on this track, it feels like the only safe option after watching so many people risk the ghosting and get bumped wide. There's a track in Oz with a similar exit but you get a lot more time to get up to speed there. Still looks hairy though.

The Supra was in slipstream for the entire pit straight and clearly close enough to try a move, as evidenced by the penultimate corner on the previous lap. To not even try and defend then take your line as normal when a car is right behind you and closing in like that is just setting yourself up for disaster.
 
Well I had quite a day. I had to pull out a trump card, the gt4 Mustang!
Everything changed after that.
I went from bad to worse to all out war in d e for hours, but the pony never let me down. I saw a few old enemies, and punished them. It was despicable, but so are they.
Hey it’s not my fault you guys bring knives to a gun fight.
I had one guy straight up full throttle try to revenge punt me, but he was in RCZ, I kinda felt a bump, and ran a touch deep as he spun off track outta control in his Uber light Mickey Mouse RCZ.
Can your RCZ do this?

Saturday’s FIA race didn’t look fun at all, so I skipped it and did a lot of Race C on my main account to get my DR higher after it took a beating from the past two FIA rounds and was very close to getting me knocked down to B rank. Set a qualifying time of 3:42.561 using the RCZ, which was enough to put me in the top 5 at the start of every race. But I used the Jaguar F-type for the races themselves, as out of the cars I tried, it suited me the best for this combination. The drivers I raced against were (mostly) clean and I grinded until my DR reached 40K, so that I could have a bit of a cushion. Hopefully, I can keep making it go up from there. But here's the result that made it happen. :D

I made the unfortunate mistake of entering a c race at b 99.
The race was clean then of course last lap I have a run on the leader at the bridge, he goes defensive cutting off my inside, so as I move back across to take the racing line he of course swerved back across in front of me late, causing contact, which led to me spinning, this was after the long straight before the bridge where he used the RCZ to just get ahead late then slammed brakes right in front of me, I should have known better than NOT taking him out right there.
Shouldn’t have been nice or tried to race clean, now I spun because of him finished like 5th.
This is why people like me often go ballistic, we spend a whole race trying not to hit anyone, trying to race fair as best we can, then you get an idiot swerving around because he thinks he’s entitled to win by choice of vehicle.
I’ve just had it, I’m sorry for anyone in any of my races...Sorry if you get the business end of a Mustang on your bumper but it’s just what gts is right now.

Edit back from b to s, the racing has been quite good at s so far...

Not too bad a week at the seaside. Raced from the back in the Mustang. DR dropped to D kept SR at 99 best I could. Had a fun week, making race passes where I could and waiting for the inevitable casualties at the chicane, and elsewhere, ha. Lots of podiums but haven't quite managed the top step. Made some online friends along the way.
I set a slightly faster QT today so have been working my way back up to B, a lot more aggression but I'm maintaining SR.
Looking forward to Suzuka & Willow next week. Probably dip a toe into race C, that grid start though :eek: :lol:
 
Wanted to share a few "highlights" from my St. Croix adventures.

First, I got completely annihilated coming out of the pits in one race thanks to drivers who didn't consider how reckless it is to pass by on the very left next to the pit exit.



Here I get caught between two South American drivers that had beef with each other and I purposefully slow down so that they can settle their differences while I pass by. :lol:



And for the big one, I once again witness animosity between two other drivers. In the race prior to this clip, the gray McLaren driver called the white/blue McLaren driver "slow" in the post-race chat (and I'm sure there was more to it than just that), and then this happens in the following race.



And yes, all three of these videos occurred in the 90+ SR lobbies. :boggled:
 
St. Croix was great this week but I can't help feeling a faster class (Gr.3+) would've amplified fun. When the track first debuted, Gr.3 was used and it turned out a better fit.

In other words, please don't make us wait another year for St. Croix, PD and bring it back with something faster. :)
 
Quite happy with this lap :D The McLaren F1 flies under the radar. It's never fast when you first try it, but if you keep at it you can extract a surprising amount of pace from it 💡

Superb! Well done. Five different cars in the top 10 is a lovely sight.
 
Sad that I haven't had time this week to run the B race. But, there is still time for PD to grace us with some irresistible combos before they switch focus solely to GT7.
 
My awesome week has been capped off with me finally getting to A+ driver rating. Started the week on 31k and ended it on 51k. Hopefully next week goes as well as this week and I don't slip back to A rating lol

If anybody ever sees me in a daily race again, you have my permission to send me as much abuse on as many platforms as possible. There's no point. How can people who put in a much better qualifying time than me be so bad at driving?

Some people just string one good lap together out of 20 and just aren't consistent. Some people are consistent but are just hot-lappers with no racecraft, even the top splits have these people.
 
St Croix is such a flowy design. Fantastic track!
Well my faith in humanity was restored again by today’s afternoon. I saw a couple folks I know and the racing was clean at 99 sr.
I wish they wouldn’t pen you for no stopping mediums lol. I would have done that every time in the Stang if it was allowed.
It’s such a well designed track, and after quite a few races I think I’m ready to turn off the line aids, they are getting distracting.

How do I improve my racecraft? This sounds a bit like me, whenever I qualify well I always go backwards, and I’m not too experienced with overtakes yet.
