Yeah, I'm so used to the N24 from playing ACC.
Helps to flow the completion of the lap. Would probably be less carnage.

Got 3rd on my first race of the evening and went P1 on my next race. Four clean races. Back up to A/S.

Had a 'longer than intended' session on GT Sport last night, this weeks races are more my cup of tea.

Had three goes at race A which ended up being a mixed bag.
Race 1: started 5th punted several times, ridiculous penalties, generally scruffy driving from all. Finished last, red SR all through the field
Race 2: started off scruffy from 8th, went down to 10th, recovered to 7th. Cleaner and more enjoyable. Red SR all through the field
Race 3: best of the lot, Started 3rd, had a great battle with the top 3 to come out victorious. Cleanest of the lot, blue SR throughout the field.

Did some long quali sessions at Nurb GP and Lago Maggiore. Not really quick but enjoying the combos.
The Super GT cars need to be driven with confidence I feel, takes me a bit of practice to have faith in them to stick!

The chicane at the end of the GT version of NGP just kills the track for me, why can’t we use the N24 version, it’s already in the game for frig sakes. Honestly, I’d prefer the N24 T1 as well, and skip that stupid corner complex after T1 too.

This is my strongest track in the game, maybe along with the RBR. The final chicane is where one can make u serious time, just hurl the car across it, just have to hit the bollards. Sector 1 is very mikey mouse I agree.

So to race B, man at first I felt all at sea but as usual with NGP I had to wind the BB way fwd or the rear keeps stepping put under braking as I turn and brake at the same time. Got qualy down to a 49.1, optimal a 48.3. 49.1 is fast for me as it is 2% off the top time which is about my limit.

Racing though, just do not have the consistency, make too many errors and it costs me wins.

That’s the part I hate about that chicane though, you have to take it so unrealistically in order to get the fastest lap, it’s crash, mess the whole lap up, or, maybe, you make it through clean once out of 10 laps. It just ruins flow of the track. Maybe if GT didn’t allow so much corner cutting, it may not be as bad. But as is with the corner cuts, it sucks.

Sector one is the equivalent of an Island green on a golf course, and one with no lay up area at that. It’s purely for “tricking” up the track, no other reason.

See it's weird, I don't mind it because if you slightly mess it up you just lose time it's not the end of the race. Now, the chicane at seaside, to me, butchers it. Get it slightly wrong and all over red rover.

But agree, would like to see GT7 force one to have two wheels inside the white lines at all times or penalty.

It also "inspires" some bogus moves by people who punt you off the left side on exit to that last chicane, when they are desperate. The last lap at races there always puts me on edge for that very reason.

And: 100% agree... that first 'new' section is so mickey mouse that it is a joke... especially in a Gr3 car where the only time you're going to take advantage of a move, you are also assuredly going to make contact, especially either on the bumper of the car entering the first left turn, or on their inside if you outbreak them into the second left turn... there's not enough time for either driver to gauge whether the move is there or not, so it's a matter of forcing the issue or getting punted, depending on which of the two cars you're in.

I really like the GR4 FWD races, but they should let us use our garage cars. Currently using the Audi with the bb at 5. Best time is 38.5 with the ds4.

Hmm. I have some questions about OneMake races aside from not getting to choose a livery, which I miss.

How do you maintain settings (TCS and BB) from race to race or even session to session in the race? From what I have gathered:
  1. For OneMake the TCS and BB will be forgotten from race to race, correct?
  2. *Sometimes* the QT settings holdover to the race during a single race?
  3. They *never* holdover to the race from the practice time just before the race?
I cannot detect the pattern and I am frantically switching through the D-Pad to get the settings right in the 2 or 3 seconds before the lights go off... when I should be concentrating on the start.

PS. I do want to start in TCS=1 and then go down to zero. I know that I need to manually do that - no problem. How do I get it to be reliably TCS=1 and BB=+4 at the beginning of the race?

If you do qualifying after entering the race, your settings will stay where you left them. If you don't, only the TCS can be set before starting the race. Doing the pre-race practice won't carry over the settings. Once you start the race, you won't be able to adjust the tire pressure psi.

I went left, and he moved all the way down to squeeze me below the penalty line. There probably aren't any official racing rules that say he can't do what he did. I think it's a dick move, and I'll put him into the wall every time. We both knew I had the run.

I don't do that kind of stuff. If the guy behind me has me the speed advantage, I make room, and take my lumps. Can't expect everyone to be an adult about it, I guess.

That is pretty clear, he was trying drive you into the wall and keep the position at any cost.

Interlagos this week should be renamed "TT bumper cars"

Qualified 3rd twice this evening and both times punted at first corner netting me a 2 second penalty. Meanwhile the 1st and 2nd cars disappear into the distance and I sit 10th.

I don't know why these FF cars bring out the worst drivers - maybe the easy handling?

Running someone toward the wall is a dick move. Considering it's a daily race, the TT wasn't giving up any FIA points. But, I'm still wondering why you ended that race with him facing forward. :lol:

I can I just take a moment to say that was very un-Canadian of him. Someone should revoke his citizenship and make him move to Michigan.

You have an overlap, but the line you're on abruptly becomes out of bounds. Similar situation to someone on the extreme right going into T1 at Monza where the track narrows and becomes grass. Obviously the good sportsmanship move is to give a car width so the other car doesn't have to drive off the track, but some people value winning more than being a good sport. :(

You had the run. He should have gave room. End of story.
 
BWOAH, did a 48.6 in race, but only a 48.9 in quali for race C. Nurburgring is hard to keep a consistent pace. But got some good SR and DR last night.

The guy turned in on him like 3 or 4 times, then tried to run him into the pit wall? WTF was he supposed to do there? I’d have run the guy right into the outside wall for pulling a BS stunt like that.

Once someone starts purposely trying to run me off the track, I stop caring about points/finishing position. He’s getting taken out, period, there is no need for people to act like that.


Edit: Like this guy, he started weaving and trying to run me into the wall down the straight before this, all because I had a run and was gonna pass him. You pull some crap like that, you get what you deserve.

Please watch it again. Sturk only got the penalty after the contact.

Firstly, as close as Sturk was, the TT should have stayed tight left. Instead, the TT doesn't defend and chooses the outside line.
Sturk was going to go on the outside to set up on the straight, but getting the run, Sturk takes the inside line to avoid/evade contact.
The TT realises it's going to lose P2. The side to side contact was a product of the TT thinking it can just go with the turn after switching lines. Then, tries to bump Sturk for any result to impede Sturk's forward progress.

That's a textbook move by players like that TT user.

I had to pay someone back last week at Sardegna. I showed it in my video. One guy got me later in the week. I told him in the chat that I wouldn't forget, & I surely won't forgive.
