Which view are you using? I'm here to learn, because I feel I have to learn a lot about this game.
I will shortly explain myself: in GT6 I was always close to WolfAono, now I'm basically a scrub.
I raced against a guy with a similar quali lap time as yours, no problems with braking an we basically went on the gas around the same time and with the same modulation, but he was pulling away as if he was on soft tires instead of hard tires, we were using even the same gears, so I can say I hit a wall in progression.
I use only weak ABS and I drive with the bumper cam, I've read some people use the chase(lmao)cam even though they're on a wheel, which is fine since it's a videogame but whatever.
Me and the guy I was racing against both used the Corvette C7, which I love, and you can see the car doing 2'01 on the leaderboard.
My time is subpar to say the least, my race pace is 2'06-low or 2'05-high, seriously it's as if I'm on wrong tires, I tried EVERYTHING but there's no way I'm going to shave any cent right now...I need help!
Also I watched the top guys replays and they seem to drive on rails with the car always having a perfect balance, no idea how they do it.
I'm using a T300RS with T3PA pedals, 3 torque and 10 sensitivity.
Does internet speed matter? I always have the full bars, 6ms ping, 20Mbps upload and 65Mbps download, running it through an ethernet cable.
Please send help, there's no way I'm this slow...it hurts so bad...

EDIT: it's only the Gr.3 races, in Gr.2 I'm "only" 1-2 seconds slower than the top guys and it's the same for Gr.4, but in those cases I know I definitely have a big room for improvement

EDIT 2: the wheel also seem to be "slower" after my first session, it was WAY more responsive, so that's another big question point
I’ve been playing with ffs on a wheel G29.
Try turning down the sensitivity to like 3 ish. I still go back and forth from 1(rallying)- 10 because I need a excuse why I’m not as fast some. Uhm @Pigems

I enjoy the DTS/Gr4 combo, but just got paired with a group of a-holes who seemed to think it was a demolition derby... I got rammed from behind, thought it was an accident & then he did it again the following lap... I think I got 5 SR downs before I quit.

so reset from 22,000 due to one race!

Great selection this week 👍 Here's my best laps so far in all 3 qualifiers that I uploaded to my channel...

Dragon trail flat out through the chicane is great feeling!

Have fun guys

I like your qualy runs but they are so heavily compressed I cannot make out the split or final times.

You're a second faster than me in the same car, I will take that using D-pad and AT, I do wish it would change down more on corner entry with the Viper.

Oh and in regards to Sturk's comments, are we including a tap in your relevant chicane of death rant? I will give the brakes the quickest tap to make sure she turns in and I can power through it so much cleaner than trying to force it through flat or with a lift.

Yeah I agree youtube compress the vids too much.. some weeks I can't even see the timer display myself, I'm not sure why some recordings are worse than others tbh but it's not good for reference :( It might just be the longer the track and video duration the more they shrink it?? maybe will look to vimeo or something else for future vids 👍 Your times are great for D-pad and auto... MT would make you even faster and change the gears when you need to and not when the game decides.. the wheel is just comfortable and more fluent is all imo 👍

Here's another vid I run last night at Dragon Trail in the Vantage.. I wont embed it to the forum and it might help to click the direct link and watch on youtube instead... might give a better visual? It seems clearer for me anyway :)

Thanks for highlighting this to me and good luck with your racing mate

EDIT: I couldn't just link direct to the video as the site kept embedding it.. had to link to my subscriber video page instead.. sorry! 👍

Good morning friends,

I was able to pop in a few laps this morning.
Really good combos this week...
I don’t always enjoy coffee and qual, but when I do, I don’t make top ten times.
(That doesn’t mean the game isn’t a blast to drive though still, even after all these hours).

Cheers and best of luck to ya!

someone ahead of me at race C got a 1 min penalty today and dropped from 5th to dead last

Since the pit stop is not mandatory and tyres are auto set as hard (or medium if those were in qualifying) how have they managed that ?

The tyres are not "auto set". You can choose your starting tyre freely.

I thought I'd wake up to a few people agreeing with me that Race A is too short, but instead we got two pages of "grip hacks" baloney. The internet never changes.

On topic, I see I'm already below my K-prime targets at Goodwood and Dragon Trail and I haven't put in a remotely decent lap at either track. Either my standards are getting too high or the really fast drivers aren't bothering to qualify anymore.

Race B is already too short and then we get race A which is somehow even shorter than that

Sorry Pigems I was hoping you could tell me how to do this? I just looked in the settings and even youtubed a solution video but I don't see an option in broadcast settings to increase quality of uploaded vids.. help a noob day please :D:tup:

I sure can man, when you hit the Share button and that menu pops up, if you scroll down you will see an option for “upload quality”, or something like that. I don’t have mine on the highest setting, I think maybe the second highest? When I get home I’ll grab a screenshot for you if you haven’t sorted it out by then, I’m just at work right now. :)

Edit: I may be thinking on the streaming options and not the video upload options. Let me double check this when I get home to make sure I’m thinking about the right thing. :)

I'm going off on a tangent here but interestingly here's a case of cheating in the real world. At Bathurst last year. "Driving stupidly slow". Resulted in a fine but still a win.

Pretty stupid.

It’s Penske. What’d you expect? I’m glad he’s pulling the plug and taking McLaughlin with him.

Speaking of fishy behavoir, is the Daily Race A Top 10 in the Americas still have that driver with two ratings and 2 separate top 10 times?

Almost all of NASCAR's technical regulations are because of one guy coming up with clever ways of giving himself an advantage :P

There's been so much cheating in motorsport it's not even funny. Like Toyota using cheater restrictor plates for their turbos in WRC, people putting inflatable bags inside their gas tanks to be able to run with more fuel by cheating the inspections. Team orders in F1 (like crashgate!). The list is long.

I think everyone on here agrees that Race A and B are always too short, it's just sometimes they are even shorter than average.

The grip hack stuff is just far more entertaining, shame it's not real. :sly:

I might create a fake US account soon and return. Some of the driving chaos over there looks fun and challenging in a totally different way.

There are a couple people who do that in Asia region as well. Seems small stuff, but annoying. Or at least change the name more so it isnt 100pct obvious

I knew something was afoot(me trying to sound all Sherlock Holmes like :sly: ), when four to five pages build up, by the time I jump back in this thread.

Now for some old responses.
Went from 6th to 2nd in 3 laps, had a great run. Nearly took first, but they pulled out a gap of 3 seconds before I quickly reeled them in through lap 8 and lap 9. coming into the last lap when I switched to hards. At which point I realised he was actually on hards the whole time and was zero stopping :(

Learned my lesson when pennaton was in my race. I spun out, but all those players ahead no stopped.

Maybe just me. But the no stopper seems so much quicker in Race C.

Generally the person setting the FL in race, is seldom the one who wins it. Personally mixing it up, pit once in a while. Otherwise, the no stop seems to offer the best results.

Starting P19/20 and getting in to the top 10.
I was setting FL in the M4 on RH. Someone at the back set FL and I even set FL on Lap 6. That thing definitely had the grip hack preset. :D

Wait what, we can no stop? Gonna try that as the hards feel pretty good after 6 laps. YOu lose what, 9 seconds pitting? 5 laps meiums are a second faster than hards when fresh so ... hmmm it's close.
Down the order, pitting helps(against drivers that keep fighting). Mid-pack, it may help again(players go off, a dirty player in the mix, types of cars used).

Up front, really no chance to gain position with a pit, if everyone are on RH. Even when I used the SLS, I was right on the bumper of the Veyron. We were are RMs. We both would have come out behind those on RH(which the Veyron did anyway and finished ahead of me).

The Viper player I kept seeing all evening, was speedy. It started one place behind me all night and must have got tired of that and set a qualy again to start ahead of me. I got ahead of it though. That player did win a race on the next one.

I'm all for using the car you love and or feel comfortable with, but that WRX, I'd say park it. The Slophy too. P1 stayed using this pink WRX. Got sent down the back each race. Not shoved over, but out paced. It no work well at this track.

Wow, I missed the wrong couple of hours in this forum! That was up there with my feeding the troll that one night that got me a slap on the wrist from the admin.

I'm still trying to figure out how a person's brain works like that. I mean, it literally went from @Pigems offering to help analyze a lap for him to him completely flipping out and accusing everyone here of cheating. How does someone's brain even make that connection?

Ok, I think I’ve got it sorted out now. 👍

So disregard my above post about the video quality options being in game, I was thinking about the streaming options, and mistook it for this video quality option.

That was my bad, sorry about that.

Ok, back to the video uploads. Your videos upload in 720, just like everyone else that uses their PS4 to upload videos to YouTube. I went to you YT page to check, and it lets me up the video quality to 720, just like on my videos. So your videos are uploading in good quality. :)

I think the problem happens when we embed the video in a post here, when I click play on your video(from your post on GTP), it plays in 360, I think it is? So the numbers are hard to make out. But, if @NevilleNobody (or anyone else watching it) clicks on your Icon(circled in red in the picture), it will take them to your actual YT page and allow them to view the video in higher quality. :)

This is if he(or anyone else) is watching it on GTP, with a mobile phone browser. I believe if you are on a PC you will have the same video quality options like what you get on YT, without having to go to YT. I’m checking on that now. :)

Edit: Yup, if he’s watching from a PC browser the VQ options are right there in the videos. Click the gear icon, then the VQ setting. He won’t have to leave GTP to see the higher quality video that way. :)

On a PC the embedded videos play in HD.
