For me, no way that would work.
probably not for me either just tryin to rile everyone up
I'm guessing the fast strategy be 4S/4S/2M or 3/3/4 depending on how nice you are to the tires. Pit stops in GTS are so unrealistically short that driving on worn mediums can't possibly be worth it.
I think the last time we had a choice that was the normal way to go 4/4/2

No prices have risen sharply and I am concerned the worse may yet be to come economy wise. I dunno, seems an odd time to drop 6 figures on a car.

Those using DS4, drop your sensitivity to 0, assuming you normally run it at 7 like I do. The GT3 really is beautiful to drive.
A good friend told me the same thing about 4x4’s for sale. Puzzling to me but what do I know.
Maybe it’s time to sell my precious rubi!?! (Tj Rubicon)

One thing I've noticed about Daily Race C is how apparent the effect of dirty air is in a car that relies so heavily on downforce. Outside of races that I've thrown away due to carelessness, I've been competitive with the fastest drivers in the lobby the majority of the time. In a number of those races, I set the fastest lap but really struggled to overtake the leader. Earlier today I set the fastest lap early on in the race in P2 but my lap times started dropping 0.5 seconds off my normal pace as soon as I entered slipstream range. I stayed within a one-second gap for the latter eight laps of the race, and was often around 0.5 seconds behind, but I couldn't close the gap for an overtake because my lap times were significantly slower than where I run in clean air.

I think in the TS050 (I didn't see anyone remain competitive in any other car) it's really difficult to get a racing overtake around Autopolis, because the circuit favors downforce so heavily that being in the slipstream is more often than not disadvantageous. I've had so many races where I quickly caught the car ahead from multiple seconds behind and then got stuck behind them without getting close enough to overtake, even though I was driving with the same consistency.

The only way I made any overtakes was getting into the 0.5 second range and putting the pressure on enough for the driver ahead to make a mistake, which usually meant leaving the racing surface.

But I think this is why the racing is so good. Apart from the first few turns of the race, there are virtually no opportunities for cheap divebombs because both cars will likely end up off the circuit. The only drivers who are "bold" enough to try that aren't quick enough to stay within range after the first lap. So the race is almost entirely psychological, and it's amazing for that. I hope I can get into the more competitive lobbies over the weekend, because it's such a thrill to be evenly matched in these cars and chase someone under a one second gap for a full twenty minute race.

I am 75 yrs old and been playing since July of this year. Using Automatic I won my 4th win today in Race A using Porsche 911 (997) GT3 ’09. I use steering wheel T150 and settings of TC 2 and force feedback of 2 and 5. My old fingers can't use paddles probably because I have lost some reflexes. So of course most times I start 6th or worse and because of that I get slammed and by accident I hit others. I apologize but that doesn't stop me from having a low Sportsmanship rating. So because of low SR I can't move from D to C. My 4 wins are all using Auto and Race A. I love this PS4PRO. My kids gave me the setup for my 75th birthday in June. I have got a free car every day since and have enough miles or km to have travelled around the world. This game came at the right time as the virus has meant a lot of old people like me stay at home and you can't stream movies all day. I find 2 hrs playing time starts to boggle the mind especially when racing at Laguna Seca and its tricky double dip corner. I have a question. Years ago I used a controller playing on a PC Porsche Unleased and others. I find the wheel is slower to turn as the hands need to move many inches or cm to turn a car but only mm or a fraction of an inch to do the same thing. What do any readers think? Anyway thanks for reading this from a grateful.parent and grandfather!

I have upgraded my SR to A.
I know this is crazy but on Sardegna I used TCI 4 on the corners which means I could brake later then after the turn put it at 0 which picked up speed immediately. At 2nd last corner I put it at 3 and then put it at 0 for the last corner. That was my fastest speed even more than when I won earlier this week. I find my practice times are better when changing TCI. BUT remember I use Auto so I need to brake earlier cause I can't gear down.

I believe there is a setting where you can reduce the travel of the wheel, setting a smaller rotation. But since I use the DS4 I am not sure.
I moved from Automatic to Manuel gearbox some month ago, it took me a good few weeks to relearn but it's such an improvement especially in longer races wher you can save fuel with it. The SR is hard to get these days, it was easier before, but if you want to toucan always run a race you haven't qualified for, that way you will be in the back and can easier keep away from the fools.
Welcome to the best planet in the solar system! Hope to see you online.

Thanks for the tips. Some tracks like Monza I can use paddles. But tracks that have slow and many turns, I find auto works best. I have also found that changing TCI during race helps immensely. 4 going into tough corner, 0 coming out. I guess that is because I can't gear down so using setting of 4 I can break later but then as soon as car is straight I click to zero.

75 and playing with settings while driving. It's all I can manage to turn TCS off after a grid start and get my radar back. Every time I play with settings mid race, it screws me up.
On another note, I raced Autopolis on my main last night. Same group I've been racing from the back. Qualified 9th, finished 5th. Hard fought most of the race. Started a big push around lap 7, from 8th place (screw the tires!) And got breathing room on 9th, ran down 7th, who ran down 6th because of my pressure, who caught up to 5th because of the pressure, and I just kept pushing until...a spin at the hairpin, wide in the sweeper, a bit too much grass somewhere else. I just out lasted the others. I pushed the last 2 laps and made up 2 seconds on 4th, but still finished over 3 back. It's funny, but I think I could have ended up in the same spot from the back. Seems to me the only advantage in grid position would be if you're top 3 after T1. There are exceptions. Sometimes from the back I get caught behind a 3 or 4 way battle that I can't get through, and if I get stuck in 15th for 4 or 5 laps, I don't have time to move up into the top half. Even then, I've been having some great, mid pack races. Added bonus, I'm improving my tire management, at least with this car.

I wish I could create some of this dirty air you talk about - people don't seem to have any problem overtaking me!

Actually not strictly true, most of those overtaking me have only achieved it by pushing me off......

Great racing when it's all clean drivers though.

When I changed my traction control to a lower # less cars passed me.

With regards to Race C, after the 1st lap anyway, you need a pace advantage of at least a second a lap to overtake cleanly if the driver in front does not make a mistake of some kind. If you hold the inside tightly in the final sector, especially the final turn then that should limit the push opportunities, then pick up the throttle before your opponents and that will keep them behind more than not. ;)

Obviously if they start dive bombing and then pushing it's a bit different as there are a few slow corners where people can and will do this and if they then accelerate before you can then it will work because of the hybrid system. So you either have to accept they have overtaken you or push back a little. :(

Not really having a problem, even with TC on 2 - finished 3 out of 4 races on the podium today, starting from P18! Only got rammed out of one race, but still finished P7.

I think too many people use up their electrical energy flashing their lights at you when get in front of them - they probably blame the fact they fall further behind on dirty air though.....

Though I agree for the most part, and 90% of my passes are due to mistakes of some sort, i have found some spots to get by someone driving at my pace...sometimes. There are some spots where you can square off the corner and get inside, or out accelerate your opponent to the apex. I've managed that a couple of times after the first hairpin, going into the left hand sweeper. Only works if you catch them sleeping since a defensive line kills your chance. BTW, another P7 finish from 18th. Got stuck at 10th for a few laps, but pushed the cars ahead until 6th through 10th (me) were bunched up. One spun and I made a pass on someone who lifted, (P8) then another got wide in the double right in the last section, and me and the guy in front of me went through, then I got inside him in the final right to take 6th. Tried to run, but he ran me down and applied pressure. I think I got in a bit hot in the second hairpin, and that's where he got by. It's been fun here this week.

Think I've finally got Race C properly now, only took most of the week. Of course there are still a number of drivers quite a bit quicker than me but there always is and obviously you are never safe from the penalty system.

Still a 1'34 flat on lap 11 seems pretty good and it's better than the 1'35.8s I was running near the end of the race at the beginning of the week, that is for certain.

Not sure why PD think we need so much fuel though, there is 20 laps worth left at the end of the race, the race is only 12 laps to begin with. 👎

For some reason penalties weren't an issue for me this week, apart from Tuesday. Had one race where I went from B/S to B/B, but then the next race got me back to B/A.

Other than that I've finished every C race at SR 99 :)

Yes I've not done too bad penalty wise but one race earlier was silly. 4 second penalty before the start due to clipping a spinning car that went one way then the other and then across the track again. Then got another added whilst serving the penalty after very slightly bumping another out of control car (just before the zone) and it had its own penalty to serve anyway. Then next lap I was stuck behind a car that was moving so slow and got a penalty for a little bump, plus more time because the car behind tried to pass into the last corner because of how slow we were going and there was then contact with them too.:banghead:

I need to link my USA account to YouTube and then I'll post the video in the penalty thread for everyone to laugh at. :D
