Another race C fan here. Great combination of track and car. I thought that car would work better on a small track but I was wrong. The car is great fun definitely rewards good throttle control and good lines through the corners. I was punished severely every time I put a back wheel on the green paint - on one occasion I was convinced someone had tapped me but the replay showed that I only had myself to blame.

I really do not like people being respawned on the racing line. Why can't they just drive back onto the track? The respawning on the racing line causes more problems and teaches a bad habit of going past cars in trouble at full speed.

Ugh. Just lose the will to race on a night like tonight. And just a combo of garbage luck and black knights. 3 races at race C. Great start each race, however:
Race 1, car who turns out to have no spatial awareness spins out in the hairpin lap 1. Bounces on 2 cars then me. I get 4 seconds and thanks to the accident the whole pack is already passing me on the way to spoon. Said spinner then runs me of twice when I try to pass them back on my way up. :banghead: They had an unfortunate slippage onto the astroturf in turn 1 the third time I lined them up for a pass.

Race 2, great lap 1 until punted into the casio triangle by a rocket car from 3 or 4 back. Had a rough battle with 1 car, but they spin themselves trying to spear me at degner 2 and I manage an ok recovery.

Race 3, moved up spots, pit maneuvered in the casio triangle lap 1.:banghead: get going again and have a 1 bar wonder lag blocking the track. I get bounced after each of 3 pass attempts, due to lag as far as I can tell. Finally go to pass them, Great early run into turn 1, they turn in like I'm not there, spin. I get 2 seconds and lose my will to race.

It just seems like if anything was iffy tonight then somehow I was going to lose on it. Such a shame after 2 good races last night. I'm not good enough to race from the back here so really hated tonight. But I shall return and conquer.:gtpflag:

That incident in Race 1 was so unlucky. I was 3 cars back and swore the guy was ghosted before he made contact with you. There were also about 5 worse incidents just after which got no penalties.

Such a shame because the remainder of the race up the front was fantastic. I finished P4 0.2 seconds behind a mutual acquaintance who, surprisingly, drove really clean and pulled off the most amazing move by deliberately running off track at 130R and carrying all his speed to Casio. :eek:

finally got a chance to upload my three races from last weeks race A. I know a lot of people don't like racing on that track, but I find it to be a lot of fun with the right partners. I will only put the best of the three here, but the other two are pretty good aswell.



I never got any races in at the Nord. I really don't run much in the race cars, so I was doing a lot of learning and crashing. I did get a much better understanding of the gr3 cars by the end of the week, and a decent lap time, so I hope I can do more actually racing the next time I track I like comes up in a gr3 race.

I tried a few laps in the Miata before leaving for work. got a reasonable time, considering I only did 5 laps. I will hopefully get a good amount of races in here this week

Wheel. If you got to ‘discover’ under replays and type fish into the search tag you can have my replay of the BMW gr3 on B race, obviously it has the time.
I dared folks to check it out BC it’s not the meta car, tcs is on 3 and I ran the racing line aid line best I could.
Imo it shows good inputs that’s all.

I dunno what that is. The only reason I put stuff up or talk about this is because I see objectively every time I play the results from people NOT using aids in racecars like gr3, NOT knowing what they’re doing. They have no idea what to do or what’s going on.
So in case anyone cares or wants help establishing some fundamentals to improve their enjoyment then those replay are there.
What I post here is just parroting what I’ve read and what I’ve learned being around real racers in life.
Ross Bentley wrote the book. It applies pretty dad gun well to GTS.
I just like racing, have history around it with family and friends, respect Motorsport.
I might not be able to afford more than an occasional kart outing or maybe I get invited to cruise in a Vintage kart for fun, but at least I can do some small thing to share/contribute to the virtual racing community.
You can bugger right off if you’re patronizing me that’s certain.

I use aids too, I keep all visual aids on since there is nothing wrong with having as much information as possible on-screen, and TCS too. I've been trying to learn how to drive without TCS in ARL, but I do feel that TCS helps me more than it hinders. Sure, people might say that not using TCS is theoretically faster, but as of now it helps me gain a lot of consistency. My time's a 57.3 in a 911 btw, might be able to drop to 57.1 but no way am I coming close to you.

(And if you picked a car with some real power not a hot doggin handlin no power show off car :) jk jk)
Anyone who wants to could improve their time IF they apply themselves in a smart way. It’s just having a few simple fundamentals then putting those fundamentals into practice.

Anyways I’m trying to lift myself out of the blues. I’m still injured and stuck...At least I have GTS and Johnny Cash!

He isn't. It's just a search engine for GTS stuff, much more effective than the discover part in game

Real power? Lol I only use cars that I like. People who know me know how abnormal it is for me to not use a Gr.3 Corvette. Been getting some flak about being too attached to my car from @Pigems too...

It’s all good to have a favourite car, just make sure to step out of your comfort zone every so often is all, otherwise you may get stuck there. :)

I also only use cars that I like. I don't have much room to act like I can drive anything, but I favor the Corvettes, Mustangs & now the Vipers have returned to my list of favorites. However, I have flirted with other models (typically same drivetrain layout) just to change things up. But I admit it was total fun to win my first race in the Ford GT LM Gr. 3 car. I was still on the DS4 & used TCS, but a win is a win. Especially if you don't crash someone to get it.

Autopolis is hitting me hard because of bumps and my stupidity when that happens.

It's not often I'm excited to run all three races in a week - I like Suzuka in slower cars (I'm crap at the Degners in a fast car). C/S qualified 4th, 3rd in to first corner - punted to 16th out of the first corner, but came back to finish 0.1 off of 2nd place. Some very clean and enjoyable racing.
On pole for Autopolis - finished last after getting 8 seconds of penalties for getting punted off twice - what da hell?
Won two Race B's in a Corvette and a Viper, mostly due to others' mistakes.

Been running TCS at 1 on Autopolis, but wondering if 2 might suit me better (DS4 motion player)

Yeah. First race was frustrating because I had speed and kept my pace good once I got away from the troublemaker. After getting blasted to the back at the start of race 2 I just seemed to drive frustrated a bit more and used up my tires a bit early. By the time I got spun race 3 I just struggled to care about pace.

Our mutual friend has tried pretty hard to be more clean and patient since my last bad run in with them when I promised a trip to dead last if they kept it up. They apologised and said it was just a bad run for them at the time. Had several clean races with them since so actually not too bad seeing them in lobbies recently.

Glad to see you guys were having a great race up there.:cheers:
 
Gr.3 at Maggiore GP is one of my favorite combos in the game :D Lago Maggiore is a great track and Gr.3 suits it so well, I'm glad it's confirmed to be returning in GT7. I initially went with the Supra as I've done in the past but I couldn't get a lap hooked up for the life of me, so I switched to the FT-1. Right now I'm ranked 3rd in EMEA with a 1:54.426, rank 1 definitely within reach. So hard to nail it though! :irked:

Wish they'd given us this race last week or next week because I'm getting way too distracted from Nations :lol:

6 crb in a row, good qual, get to the 99 room, lap 1 huge momentum on inside through the last right hander section 911 swerved late in front brake checks ne I get one second.
Serve the one get overtaken a few, get back several spots next lap into turn one two cars fighting, they fight to turn 2 where they both somehow go flying off to the left, I’m behind coming up fast with a Lexus in hot pursuit.
I make a fantastic reaction to avoid the cars in front as they ghost and fly off track.
I was thinking that was sweet...
BOOM FIVE SECOND PEN AND I HIT NOTHING!!!
So I serve fall back gain back about four more spots final lap I’m exiting the esses with a huge run on a Supra who starts swerve blocking me like mad, causing me to hit him and lose my speed so I decide to punt him but apparently that’s much more difficult than it used to be he knew it was coming jammed the brakes, tried to run him wide then the guy behind me hits me I get 3 more seconds!!!!!
I just gave up and repeatedly hit walls until the end where all the blue sr scattered from chat.
This is total bull crap.
I can’t take this stupid nonsense anymore.
CARS CRASH EACH OTHER BY SWERVING RAMMING EACH OTHER TO THE POINT OF GOING OFF TRACK, NEITHER GETS A PENALTY BUT SOMEHOW ME COMING BY A SPLIT SECOND LATER GET FIVE SECONDS?
It’s a joke. It’s unplayable except as destruction derby.
DISC IS OUT, ONLY QUESTION IS DOES IT GET SMASHED WITH HAMMER...
I’ll let you know later...IF the disc is in one piece.

AS FOR THE SUPRA? Blue S of course because swerve blocking and brake checking is clean but me driving within fifty yards of a car crashing means I’m Satan

I’m glad I wasn’t looking forward to FIA much on alt. I think we should all stage a mass boycott of sport mode in protest of this abortion they call a safety rating system.

Have a :cheers: or 3, the disc will be fine. I'm still a C/S and doing some A races in mostly A/S rooms and it's tough keeping pace and avoiding SR losses.

Still having a blast over at Race C. The races have gotten noticeably dirtier, as they usually do from Monday to the rest of the week, but it still better than most GTS experiences nowadays.

Sadly, even that doesn't work. One race I was so fed up by this one guy (sporting a Borat livery) I went out of my way to make sure he finished last. I had already raced him a couple times, he's not fast but simply barges and blocks his way to the front knowing how to avoid and deliver penalties. This time he again deliberately ran into me. while making a clean pass, to deliver me a penalty.

So I started slowing down, keeping my car right in front of him, letting the other drivers through (We were at around 5th at the time). If he managed to somehow get aside I pushed him into the wall. When he spun I stopped to wait to resume blocking his ass. I got about 12 sec in penalties in lap 1 but he was dumb enough to hold back about a minute before the straight hoping I would leave him alone. I did, I sped on to the straight, serving the penalty and only fell 5 sec behind when he passed.

It didn't take long to catch back up with him, rammed him off first, then block again letting the rest of the field through. He was not a quitter, kept trying but could not get passed me. And when he did, due to ghosting, it didn't take long to catch him again a corner or two later. I had about 16 sec penalties that round but finished ahead of him since we timed out before the straight. After the race I type, "Are you going to behave now". Lot of cursing as response of course. I went off to better races in SR.E, good riddance.

Did it work, nope. He's actually on that video I posted in the penalty thread. I pass him at the 5 minute mark, then he tries to pay me back at the end of the middle straight but fails spectacularly. That still didn't do anything, next race he gets called out again by multiple people in the room.


I've tried it on other people as well, 2 in one race, kept them both behind while serving penalties in between. I got them down to the back of the field while still finishing ahead. One thing you learn in this game is how to drive dirty, plenty examples everywhere :lol: I told them why, but just got 'grow up' among the more colorful responses.


This game has changed so much. The "Thanks for the clean race" option might as well be removed as well as "I'm sorry". Out of my ~80 races getting rammed, side swiped, dive bombed, punted, I got one "I'm Sorry" from a Brazilian and I didn't even know what he was sorry for. Whatever he did wasn't on my radar as anything dirty. It must be when he messed up and I slowed down not to hit him, thus got bumped by a car coming from further back. Not his fault, yellow flag doesn't mean speed up.

I recognize Borat. He is a predator-bully. He came to my attention when he whined at race-end about slow drivers blocking and giving him penalties. Alright, I will take a look on replay. He crashed on T1 on his own accord. He then relentlessly barged people off and then simply hunted down one guy, hit him, waited for him and then rinse repeat.
 
Did one race C tonight, it turned out to be a fun race too. Started P14, but forgot to release the brake at the start because I was messing with BB, so I fell back to 17th or 18th I think by T1. It got better from there though :)

When I caught P2, I thought about going around the outside into the 2nd last corner, but got scared and backed out at the last second. I’m glad I did too, he’d have run me right off. :lol:


I did get a couple nice passes in though. :)
