I like the car/track combo, but the racers are dirty...

I also really like this weeks A race. haven't had a lot of time to play, but a couple each day after work is better than nothing. I finally had to put a qt down on my alt, because I found the back and mid field folks are being VERY aggressive, and borderline dirty. I also think there are a lot of them who don't know how to drive a BIG car like this.

Agreed, I have been brake checked and spun out a lot. It's frustrating, but now, not streaming and taking care of business

Personally, I'd say good. But the game's algorithm says dirty af. Looked sweet to me & like the other car didn't want to concede the inside line at Sheene's corner & that's the only reason he touched dirt.

I was wondering if I was going completely nuts with how close I was driving. It didn't help that I didn't get any good results on race C last night.

Since the Evo was working well in race C I tried the WRX, surprise there were 3 others in the race and I don't remember seeing any before. Fells a bit slower than the Evo, but boy was I consistent. Didn't make any serious errors, I might be getting better but the car was definitely helping, Total time down to 20:40 from about 21:30 when I started and 20:55 in the Evo. Think I need to stick with these more stable cars till I learn the tracks and get a bit faster. Any other decent 4WD cars I can try?

I've been using the WRX all week - made up places in every race, as it comes on strong towards the end when the TTs are running out of grip! Managed a 14th to 4th yesterday.

I'm going to try the Evo in a race today - seemed quite fast and stable in qualifying. Also tried the GTR in qualifying, just as fast as the WRX, but it felt very heavy and understeery in the corners.

Brought out Nimbus The Great and the Mustang. Started 14/19, but I had one bar. Before the race, told everyone to pass me. Got all yellow bars after 3 laps.
A Vantage I let by at the start, was pulling away from me on the RM. After we pit, roles were reversed. Mustang had pace from LAp 8-13. The VAntage was struggling for the last 3 1/2 laps. I was all over it. I got alongside as it wobbled into T1. Gave me room from there to T4, but we touched. It got one second. I let it go ahead and I stayed behind as it served the penalty. We raced on for the last 2 laps and crossed the line .1 second apart.

Was looking good for a win at Brands in the 458.. Started 5th on softs and ended up leading after the leaders spun or got penalties

6 second lead by lap 8 and the TV goes in to standby just as I'm pitting! Stabbing at buttons and ended up on softs again, then by the time the TV was back on I was in the gravel. Pitted on the last lap for mediums and kept 4th place. Bummer.

Don't improve that time.

Only been doing laps on Fuji this week. Working hard trying to improve times so I don't finish the week last on my friends list.

TPC_holdmybeer? Perfect. 👍

Currently having my first look at these dailies - how long will I hold out before caving to FWD-related peer pressure at Brands?

EDIT: Hmm, actually, is it just me, or is the 86 better in the race than the FWD cars?

You're gonna finish ahead of me, for sure. 👍
I can't get close to your time. I've been trying hard, but can't seem to get it figured out.

Close should be fine. But knowing how broken the penalty system is, close is worth a 1 second penalty. Slight contact, 2 seconds, while a good bump is worth 4. Blasting them into The Shadow Realm, no harm, no foul. :boggled:

If PD does not fix their penalty system, GT7 will not succeed

Sadly, enough people will want to be first to play & enough copies will be sold to deem it a success. How many people will invest their time into a broken penalty system is the question.

Are you using auto? There's a few corners where manual can stay in 3rd while auto would probably go down to 2nd.

Don't know why I'm telling you this. I want to stay ahead. :mischievous::lol:

See my race win on the previous page. If you have anything other than a Scirocco or TT starting behind you and they're not on RS, you'll be able to keep up your momentum. You've also got to have maybe one of those cars ahead at the start.

The auto drops to 2nd only at the chicane, but it's manageable. 👍
I spent a good deal of time doing laps with the manual, but I couldn't make any progress with it.

I have several issues with the race. Number one I personally wouldn’t need to pit at all on med, yet, I must pit due to the rules. To me they might as well simply open up RH RM RS tires and set a wear rate and let US decide. I digress though.
My reason for not picking 86, or Ferrari, or Mcclaren or Hyundai is simply that the TT user will simply make contact, slowing you down approaching or at apex, then floor it and they have such a tremendous power advantage there’s nothing you can do.
Even if you get lucky and dont have dirty drivers, with the handling cars you have to be almost perfect to the pixel to get fast laps. I can’t do it without a bunch of crashes, and then getting a miracle lap, which I don’t find fun.
I’m frustrated by the races this week. I tried the TT for one lap, yes it has pace I just don’t like driving it. It was fine for the ff on the original tire wear imo but then PD submitted to a bunch of complaining streamers so now they have power pace drivability but no negative on the wear really, or at least due to race settings its not enough to make things interesting.
The qual times of B players on NA right now just show how meta that ridiculous car is on qual. I’ve been trying other cars right now I have 2 fr which are quick.
I truly feel each player should only get a certain number of qual chances each day or week, or a time limit.
I am going to qualify my best and race fr.
I’m frustrated with this c race and A this week.
B? B is good but one more lap would have been perfect...If I come up with a good qual I will race Mustang or m4. Lexus has speed too but I don’t use it much...so fsr I’ve done well but I need to start higher in the field to try to win.

Agreed on point 1. The two recent C Group 4 races at Dragon Trail and St Croix had a much better formula that balanced out the strengths/weaknesses of the drive types. It was interesting to watch the car selection and strategies evolve during the week.

Also agreed on point 2. You get to practice as much as you like but somehow limit things for QT times. I expect that part worked better if/when they were truly daily races instead of weekly.

Otherwise, I am enjoying the FF party for what it is. :)

Was off the game for a few months and got back on the last few weeks and back in the groove.

Been doing race c this week, it's an ff party obviously. I'm preferring the VW myself and even qualified a 1.26.7xx with it. Feels better than the TT in the faster understeering corners for me anyways. Two stop is fun if you get pole, soft soft med and keep trying to pull that gap. When I've been behind its usually a pressure someone into a mistake to pass situation or undercut and hope you get free air to run in.

If next week's N100 race at Miyabi is the classic Fiat 500, then I may resume racing online again. Haven't played in months but that will be the perfect excuse to do so if true. It's the combo where I got my first official win (first actual win was the shifter kart daily race at Miyabi in the β Version). The car's a beginner's trap; you may think it's easy to drive but the RR drivetrain combined with the fact that it doesn't have enough muscle to save itself from oversteer once the tires start to slip has summoned a lot of disconnects. It was a fun combo! Hopefully it is the case.

When was the last time we had any races at Miyabi? I might actually do a few of Race A next week. I just hope it's not the Swift again...

July 2018, lol with an N300 (Lancer Evo I think). Short but sweet track and I'm surprised it hasn't appeared in so long. It came up regularly when races were daily.

I don't mind the Swift if I think of a potential alternative, the Honda Beat.
