I see they have the track limits spot on again, really hard on corners where you lose time by running wide and that bit where you can save nearly 4secs and not get a penalty. Lost to a cheater and can't decide if I should bother with this race, I don't want to cheat, but you can't win if someone behind you uses it.

Where can you save 4 seconds and not get a penalty? (Just asking for a friend:D)

You could win if someone cuts the track with no penalty. Run them off track. Sure, you get a 4 second penalty (goodbye clean race streak) but they will be spinning & maybe reset. Takes them longer than the amount of penalty time you get & the time they saved by cutting. :mischievous:

I'm out of that race it's pointless so end of straight slow a bit then use the gravel to the left as a "brake" get it right you'll save 3-4 secs, get it wrong and you'll get a reset. Just catch the sand so your not too far left.

OH and the last chicane can be cut for free too, tricky but it will save a sec or 2

My memory of the track might be failing...
What turn? I don’t get it. Lol

So I am already a bit fed up with Race B, there seems to be something about walls that encourages other drivers to squeeze you into them for some reason, idiots! Sigh

So I figured I would try Race C but I don't have a GR 2 car. So a question for the experts:. Of the ones available which is the most stable in terms of getting around a lap. Not bothered about fastest I just want to be able to learn the race and stay on the track (speed can wait for now.)

Definitely the 2016 Lexus for most stable. The 2016 GTR is a bit twitchy for my liking. The 2008 GTR is a bit more stable than the 2016 in my opinion, but probably a little slower over a lap.

I know it's a complicated track, but you know there is a huge straight? This time with 2 chicanes, well the sharpish right at the end of that.
The last chicane is the one just before start finish.

I've never been able to cut the final chicane without getting the penalty, but then again I'm never rocking through it flat out either.

And you got some massive stones to take to the outside sand to slow down at Mulsanne. Takes a bit more skill than I got. Not gonna have a go at it. Was wanting to see if it really was a trick but I'll just end up spinning across the countryside to a reset.

Be careful. I got 2 penalties in this clip, and didn't feel like I did anything wrong.
My outside tires never went inside of the curbs.
My best guess is that they want at least 2 tires to remain on the asphalt.
But then, sometimes I don't get penalized when I use the same line.

I saw a youtuber do it a while back, he made a mistake and was going to fast so cut into the sand to save himself. I was half thinking about trying it, just in quali, but didn't cos it's cheating. In a race though, was 2nd and it might have been a good race but the guy in front pulled it and I was so far behind had no chance of catching him.

This is how the chicane cut works. I did this demo video about a year and a half ago.
It's a Gr.1 car, but it works with any type of vehicle.

* I am not endorsing this maneuver. It does not work in races, and I don't use it for qualifying. I believe it also does not work at the end of a Q lap.

Somehow, the cones seem to be a factor in the track limits.
In the first part of the clip, you'll see me blasting through chicane, and getting a penalty.
In the second part, I drive up to the cones and knock them out of the way. I back up, and blast through the chicane again, penalty free.
I really don't know why it works. It just does.

the Dunlop chicane is where i incur most of my ptly on Lemens. But yea 2 on the blacktop to be safe, 4 on the curbs PTLY when your racing and under pressure its tough when trying to gain time but track as been like this for a while now sooo everyone should be used to it

I received the same penalty and only thing I could think of was the curbstones are not part of the track and once my right side tires left and only my left tires were on the curbstones meant I was off the track. Hope that helps.

I cannot control the slide of this beast but it is one fun race! Enjoy your racing!

So this is where track limits are absolutely stupid here. I cut that first chicane more than that on my lap and got no penalty. I think at Tertre Rouge your lefts have to still be on the white line, not the blue and yellow. Such random gibberish with the limits here.

And I remember that video, i thought he was talking about blasting through there in the race.

All good.

Well, RAce A is wild. I outbraked myself and was smashing this one player for trying to squeeze me into the barriers down Hounduras...Hunnumdrum..AttliatheHun straight. I went straight through the kitty litter, back on the track, with no track reset or penalty.

This next race, this player got robbed. I never robbed anyone in my life... and I'm from The Bronx! Serious;y, I got two penalties and pipped this player on the last corner. That's why 3rd gear is my best friend. He just bounced off the limiter in 2nd and I snatched the win. That was messed up.

well done

See I didn't know this, I accidently cut it at the start of quali and assumed it was broken for the race too.

Still don't understand why they can't just make it "you leave the track you get a penalty" rather than this mixed bag where something that hurts you gets a penalty and something that helps doesn't.

You stopped on the 2nd run thats why the penalty wasn't dished out.

No. That's not it. The penalty pops up before the starting line.
That's why I included about 10 extra seconds, in the 2nd run, so it's clear that no penalty was issued.

I mean if the system sees that you've slowed to account for the penalty thats going to be given it will throw it out. Unless I miss your meaning.
