What floor surface is it on? I have hardwood floors so do I need a mat under to keep from moving under heavy braking?

I have mine on hard floor and can confirm it does not move at all. I'm a fat 🤬 though so I probably weigh it down more than you might do haha

Phoenix:
A = One-Make Daihatsu Copen RJ VGT - 5 laps - Kyoto Driving Park Miyabi
B = Gr. 3 - 15 laps - Northern Isle Speedway :lol:
C = Gr. 4 - 8 laps - Tokyo Expressway - East Outer Loop - 4 time fuel/9 time tyre wear

This is why we need more tracks... A lot more. I would rather pay 30 bucks for an update with 10 new tracks, than an free update with 10 free cars...

not at all, the wheel folds out enabling you to just hop out
I assume that's something that can be tightened so it doesn't lift up/out during use? I'm 160lbs so it probably won't move lol. Only issues is there's no spot for a shifter or keyboard. Big dealbreakers. I think the next best thing on the cheap(er) side is the GT Omega stand and then getting the gear shifter accessory piece. I have a DIY wood rig that's really sturdy but I'm pretty sure the measurements aren't perfect. Made from an old night table with the drawer cut out. What's nice though is that I have that soft furniture tape on those pieces of wood that corner the TV stand. Being up against it prevents any forward movement and it never lifts up because it would be lifting the weight of the TV stand. Only issue is like I said, pedals don't feel right and I need a proper seat

correct, there is a lock that fits it all in place. you can get the shifter accessory for playseat challenge but nothing for the keyboard. if you're a PC gamer then yeah this probably isnt for you. I saw the omega GT stand but decided against it because of the massive bar in the middle that I've heard can be uncomfortable for a big guy like me

@DesertPenguin sorry on that note,, what benefits does the shifter give you? surely I can move just as quick with the flappy paddles?

I'm thinking of the GT Omega Wheel Stand. It doesn't have that middle bar. I only need keyboard to make typing in chat easier and PCars2 uses keyboard to map extra functions

Immersion. It's not about being quick. It's about replicating what's truly required to drive whatever car is in question and enjoying all those little nuances.

just googled it, looks decent tbf. I still have PC2 at home in its original wrapping.... havent found a reason to put GTS down just yet haha

Yea, that GT Omega stand plus shifter attachment is $180 with free shipping which is nice of them. I could keep going with my DIY thing but it's not gonna look good in the end and I'm not gonna take the time to sand and finish all the wood. Certainly gonna save up for that or just ask for gift cards at my birthday later this year :p

Race B should be some cluster and destruction! :lol:

Thanx mate for the reply. I guess I’ll skip Sport Mode today. Maybe I’ll do some money grinding and get the daily reward and that’s it.

I also have the Playseat Challenge it, for me it is 61cm from floor to the plate where the wheel base is mounted and about 72cm to the center of the wheel.
I have it on parquet floor and I don't think anything is needed to protect the floor. There are some small rubber parts around the metal frame, so the metal is not touching the floor, only the rubber parts. And you certainly won't move around while driving (if you "jump a little" you can slide a bit, but this is far beyond what you would do while driving, I just use this to adjust the position of the chair a bit without leaving it).

The only drawback I see with this wheel stand is the way you enter it (the normal way) and that is by opening the bracket (not sure if this is the correct English word), where the wheel is mounted on, to the side. Some wheels might not like that while they are turned on (my T-GT doesn't like this at all and won't react anymore after I have closed the bracket again, also makes strange noises while opened while the wheel base is in a vertical position), so you might need to switch the wheel off before you enter/leave your seat. Or you enter the seat like an F1 driver entering his cockpit and not open the bracket... it's possible, but not very comfortable.

The Gr.3 on Northern Isle is only 15 laps?! So the entry period for the race is longer than the race itself. :lol:

Update: Participated in the race, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was fully expecting a crash-fest, but there were only 5 drivers with incurred penalties, and I managed to advance 6 positions and regain my SR S status. Still too short though. :lol:

I avoided 3 different crashes ahead of me on Northern Isle (I polled 6) before I couldn’t avoid the 4th crash, and was knocked into the pit lane (I wish I was joking).
I finished last and my SR went promptly from A to B. Won’t be doing that one again..

Avoided Northern Isle and Tokyo last night but did a few races on Miyabi to get my fix :)

Hoping for some good races today

Awwww yeah, Monza Gr.3 :O

I know what I'm doing the whole evening!

edit: How do the BOP updates work so far? Still dominated by 911s? I guess the Mercedes will be pretty strong at Monza!?

At the moment the leaderboard has 8 Mustangs on it and two Mercs. Still early yet though.
