I raced a couple of C races from the back last night. My Q on my main is a 2:00.5, but that was a one off. My race pace is significantly slower, and even my Q pace is 1/2-1 second slower typically. I don't know how people are doing 57's. Anyway, my best race was P7 (up 11 spots) in an a-b room. Definitely a lot of guys doing the bump and pass. I can deal with the dirty air, and how much I have to back off due to that. Passing because of it is tough, but if you are close to a guy in front, and have a guy on your tail, that's when it's dangerous. Staying clean, that is almost a sure loss of position, since I would have to brake early and slow more to hold a line with dirty air, and they don't, so I get bumped and they go inside as I slide wide. Maybe I'll try the Audi. I was slower and less consistent in it on the 5-6 laps I tried in Q, but it does have quite a bit more top speed, so passing may be easier. I guess I'll see. Might even give one of the group C monsters a shot. I'll be the blocker in the twisties, and blast by people on the straights. I'll see what kind of laps I can get. Might be worth it, though SR may suffer if the corner speed pisses people off...
