Just took the new Audi for a spin in pre-qualifying for race C. In my limited hands I managed a 1:35.5. Could probably do better. I haven't done a Gr1 for a while, so the speed at first caught me by surprise. Handling kinda reminded me of the faster version of the TT. <shrug> I'll go with it anyway for 🤬 and giggles.
 
Ok, that sucked. Race C was carnage. No one, including myself seemed to know how to deal with Gr1 on Dragon Trail including the As and Bs in the group. I got smashed and bashed around.

The brakes on the Audi didn't suit me, I just couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting people who were braking earlier than me or going *really* slow through sections I was flying through. I found Phantom Ali's line through the bus stop useful. I gained so much ground there, but I just couldn't get a handle on dealing with it when there was traffic in the way.

My Dr dropped a bit, but my SR took a hit, It's been 54 days since my SR has been this low :grumpy:. Started 13th, finished 15th....as a ghost. Had a pretty spectacular spin out on the final corner of the race.

What I don't get is that I had a better time than you but qualify worse? I know it must just be down to timing or whatever but it recently feels I am always on the wrong end of it :odd:

In the Suzuka daily race on Saturday, I was matched on position 7/16 in one race, then 3/16 and then 14/16 in the last one. I'm a high B/S and my time was a 2:01:4xx. Second race was with half the field being D/S, last one with the majority of drivers being A/S.

Funny thing is: The last race was by far my best one with a Lap 2:01:6 and the others 2:02. I finished 11th and lost 200 DR. The other races I made stupid mistakes, finished higher still and gained DR. System is funny sometimes.

Not really, it was a pretty lonesome drive actually :D. Just making positions by people messing up the usual difficult turns.

The guy behind me was flashing like crazy at the start but then disappeared in the distance somewhere near Dunlop. :)
 
And again the race C is ruined.
VGT´s all over.
It makes real LMP cars useless.
Make gr.VGT for imaginary cars like chirons with 8.0 W16 engines, 900kg and fuel consumption of 919 hybrid with V4T+electric engine.

@Invisigoth always flat out during qualifying but always lift during the race, you lose very little time. If you catch a wall you lose a lot of time, maybe even a position if the car behind you nails it.

Also, set a 13.016 on Northern Isle but I refuse to use the AMG in a race if everyone else is using it, need to try my usual favourites to see if I can beat that time
 
I’ll stick to the M3 today. Managed a 1:00.491, just a second off the pace. The car feels like it wants to kill me though, like there’s a half full water tank in the boot or the rear bushings are made of blancmange :boggled:

Yeh, it did. My usual line is go deeper into the bus stop before heading for the exit. I changed to your line and it seemed smoother. Still managed to muck it up a couple of times during the race, but not in qualifying. Hit the outside wall... zoom zoom zoom as three cars go by.

Know that feeling. But until I get to the grid I have no idea what everyone else was using. For my race it was all Mazdas and Porsches. Only two of us were using the new Audi.
 
Just run 10 laps qualifying on race C and ended up with 1.22.949. Fun to drive flat out in 6th gear through the bus stop, but there's no way I'm entering that race today. That's me done for the day !!
 
Well a 4 day break from gt sport due to the unreasonable size of the update since with a throttled bandwidth stream you have to d/l in kinda like stages, a gig here... A gig there.

I have to say these daily races are horrible today!!

What a bummer .... Oh well always new ones tomorrow.. Right? Hah
 
I did a couple Suzuka races, no time yet for a longer race. Suzuka East pretty boring as always and I just can't get a good sense of speed in the slower cars. I never look at my speed so it's always driving by feeling and it's just not there enough. I had some great saves anyway and a couple trips of shame getting stuck on the green stuff. Pretty uneventful and a steady DR loss for me. GR.1 DT later, I won't race in that bath tub.

The 5 races I've done there today were relatively clean, but the penalty system is just weird around there.

I get side swiped whilst leading hen I'm on the inside line and I get a 3 second penalty. Finished 4th. Second race, in 3rd, running high on the wall, 4th comes up the inside on the straight, I think we touch, but I get another 3 second penalty. Finish 4th due to the others being so far behind.

I couldn't fathom out the penalties at all.

There's also a lot of wall riding too!
 
Wow Suzuka is legit fun 👍 Managed to qualify with a 59.83 but constantly got matched with the Top 1 alien, who in one race let me pass on the start line only to then wreck me off two corners later 🤬 @GhostChild then „stole“ that victory from me as I got shunted off again a few corners later by some other moron :mad:
At least a few races later the #1 alien spins off and the other alien „fell asleep“ and spun out :lol: @GhostChild again took the lead with another guy following close, they clashed in T1 resulting in a penalty for the guy following. He served the penalty and I was back in P1 :gtpflag:

Not a fan of the recent updates(1.15 and 1.16), they have absolutely tanked my scores.

Virtually all of my penalties have come from being hit by cars not in my field of view.

The updates occurred on day 61 for me.
Manner score went down 67 points, from 99 to 32. Driver score went down nearly 4000 points from 19,880 to 15k.

The more I get hit, the lower my score. The lower my score, the dirtier the race I’m out in, the dirtier the race I’m in, the more I get hit. And the cycle continues. Haven’t hit bottom yet.

Same no bath tubs for me. Gr1 feels like a late 90s arcade game especially on dragon trail, and the BMW isn't hitting me right...

Will give it a miss then thanks. I did one Race A which was so dull. Back to making liveries today I think.

Do you upload replays? Your races always sound amazing
 
I'm just loving daily races even more with a wheel...came within 1.4s of Europe's fastest alien on Dragon Trail today, something of a PB. Racing at the front of the pack has been very respectful today and yesterday on the Mount.

Nah I don't even save most of them apart from when I get a win :lol: Maybe the other guys I saw did? I got some E30 lobby race replays saved tho :D

GR1@ Dragon - dare I say it, even worse than Monza....

There is simply no escape @ Dragon if you're using a 2wd car. I like the TS030, even got my first victory :D

But that was lower A dr rating, switched to my near S main ID and it became the biggest 🤬 fest I've ever raced in.

Decided to go awd wasn't really much better, when you're being patient as there is a group of cars infront, it's only a matter of time before you're on the receiving end of a shunt or divebomb. You can't pass the group as they're moving around like a swarm of bees on a honeypot, try to squeeze through, you get tagged or shoved against a wall. Either way, you still get the penalty :confused:

Last 3/4 races there was possibly the worst 'racing' I've seen in daily races, considering there are supposed to be A S level 'drivers'.

What sums it up: guy infront tries to divebomb 2 cars going into turn one at start, he gets squeezed to the left as the two cars are already side by side, he looses it, spins back onto track and skittles half the field. At end in the lobby, he calls everyone a 🤬 because 'we' made him crash(??).

This is one of my biggest frustrations with other drivers, the amount of penalties, albeit very minor ones, I get because of people trying to push pass me as I wait for a chance to get at the guys in front is too high, in the short races I can understand it but it still goes on in Race C, just have some patience on the opening laps for crying out load. Then sometimes they actually get past by pushing or flat out dive bombing only to then lose touch with the other cars in front anyway, so after I get back past them I have to try to catch the guys I was about to pass back up again. :irked:
 
The aliens left Suzuka early tonight, I got 5 consecutive poles and was able to win another 4 races :dopey:
The guy starting in P2 in all the races was some kind of retard tho, he was somewhat clean in the corners and didn‘t bump me or anything but in three races he drafted past me only to then swerve around like a maniac on the straights in the following laps to avoid pulling me in his draft :banghead: I lost my **** in the second to last races final corner and gave his rear quarter panel a (not 100% intentional) love tap sending him into Nirvana :dunce: Kudos to him for not shunting me off in the following race, I let him draft past again and guess what, he started the same bs on the straights again; luckily Karma was on my side and he spun himself off in the esses :lol:
TL;DR: Won 5 races today, got 6 poles and recovered quite a lot of the DR points I lost recently :)

Yeah I had a 3 secs penaly too in that T1 hit, so I slowed down and let the greek alien pass. The guy who hit me slowed down in the last tricky corner pushing out the alien out too. He made a bad move. But 1th and 3th in only 2 races with the top guys is not that bad hehe. Also I have that RC_Zoky in my friend list he is crazy fast he's in the top right now.
