DR should be handled like an elo rating and give an indication about your skill alone, not your manners.

Your manners reflect your skill. Any muppet can win races by smashing their way through the field, If you are that good then you should be qualifying in pole every time and fast enough that no one else can crash into you. If not then the truly skilled can make clean passes and gain places. If speed is all that makes you good then you might as well do nothing but qualifying. Racing involves other vehicles and you have to deal with that.

Ok, it takes skill to race clean. I agree. But I think, if we have two separate ratings anyway, then we shouldn't mix those.

At the moment, we have fast drivers that try to race clean and fall down the ratings because they make mistakes, drive too aggressively and also get penalties for incidents they were not guilty of. This is hurting the lower DR drivers' game experience. They should be matched with people of similar ability in terms of pure speed. Because after 2-3 races, they will be D/S again and be way too fast for a D/S field.

Fast dirty drivers should be matched with fast dirty drivers instead of being matched with slow clean drivers.

I'm really enjoying race C today, I like ovals and I like the races where you need to be clever with strategy. It seems like I'm the only person doing a one-stopper which I think is quicker over the race even with all the slow laps.

Yeah... I didn't get the strategy memo, wondered why I went to P1 from P12 in the first 3 laps  I was thinking "**** everyone is slow tonight :)" then I got the FUEL WARNING on like lap 7. Of 30. So, yeah... disaster. Pitted 3 times in the end, came 16th. Then second race, went map 6 from the beginning. Pitted twice but skipped tyres second pit... which was a mistake. Came 16th again. -1800 DR

I gave it one race at Monza. SR dropped to 95 after the first chicane pile up and I finished 2 places below my qualifying position but my DR went up by 66 points. How does that work?

Pretty sure the entire race was all C/S. Well it was when it started anyway.

It doesn't matter where you start or if you gain/lose positions. Mostly (good rule of thumb) is if you finish top half you will gain, finish bottom half you will lose. You could start first, finish 8th and (as long as the field is reasonably similar in terms of DR to you) you will gain points. Likewise, you could start 20th and climb to 12th but still lose.

It's the oval specific BOP, for BBR & BMBS, all cars (Gr.3) are 791bhp/1300Kg and brake balance is disabled by default.

Congrats on your top 10 btw :)

That‘s odd. Usually DR A/S and SR99 always matches you with the aliens

Testify!

Learn to shift :p

I forget  also hands get very confused when changing down and braking and cornering....

Just broke my PB at Nurb GP:gtpflag:

That's 8 tenths quicker than mine from a few weeks ago 👍

What's are the cars to use at Nurb today? I'm tempted to use the GTR or 86?

The Atenza, have not seen any other car come close to it although that was earlier on and I have not tried either of those two.

I fluked a pretty decent lap in it in the end, the track limits are strange here though, go slightly wide and it'll give you a penalty, yet get it wrong and go way off and it's ok, all same corner.

First race of the evening, Race B. It was a welcome relief after GTR demolition derby at Kabuki. Tried in prequalify with the NSX (need to see if I can pry off the Honda badge and replace it with an Acura badge :mischievous:). Then tried the Viper. It took me 3 laps to beat the best time I got with the NSX in 5 laps, by 2 seconds. Come race time I was surprised to find myself P5 amongst a jurH^H^H^Hgrid of my peers. That changed to P4 just before the race was about to start.

It was a pretty clean race up my end. In the first 2 laps I had to try really hard not to run up the back of the guy in 3rd and for 3 laps the guy in 5th was trying really hard not to hit me. Watching the replay the poor guy/girl must have been very frustrated, because he had a lot of opportunities to get past me, but he wasn't prepared to commit and I kept shutting the door on him. In truth, I wasn't blocking him, I was just trying to keep it on the track! His patience was eventually rewarded. I had picked up a penalty which was less than 2s. As far as I was aware he/she was more than 3 seconds behind me when I crossed the line I thought. When I crossed the line P3 had slowed right down and I crossed ahead. When all was said and done Mr/Ms patience must have closed to less than 2 seconds the final corner/strait because I dropped to P5.

I clawed back some of the Sr I lost yesterday and gained back some Dr. Not a bad result as I see it :D.

Don't even have the Atenza  Guess I'll try the GTR then

I don't have that I don't think. Tried the M4 and the Lexus, they are alright but once I got used to the Atenza it smashes them both.

Only tried racing twice, once in the M4 and got punted about, then in the Atenza but I got a nice dc instead of a pole position.

Congrats on your top 10 btw :)
:D Thanks!
Did I finish in #10 spot then??? I was at #10 when I checked in at 1:24AM before I had to go close my eyes for the night.

Didn't think I would manage to stay there with another 5-6 hours left before the end. Didn't see top ten at the end because I woke up long after that with a bit of a hangover.

That's how it is set up for me... just get in a muddle with my hands :(
Shouldn't take too long to adapt to it :P
You basically do the same thing when driving slushbox irl just instead of your left foot being non-used it's your right thumb :D

:D Thanks!
