If your goal is to win DR points, I would recommend to stick for only one race per day. That way you'll have only one track to focus on etc, it's easier to win DR points that way 👍

Will keep that in mind but I do like the challenging of juggling multiple tracks as I do like to try all the races if I can.

I just broke into 1:55 today.

I think I feel ill :yuck:. I've just been struggling to get it to sneak under 2min. On the times when I did, I didn't recognise it because of penalties on the previous lap. Finally managed to get a 1:59.72 to stick, but I had a 1:59.30 that it didn't recognise. We can't all be aliens :p.

Improvement is improvement. We all improve bit by bit.

Thanks :). I qualified P6 on a grid with mostly DR/Bs, a couple of Cs and 5 Ds. At my current level I wouldn't have qualified any higher even with the best time I could manage.

The race was a bit argey bargey. I saw the orange SR twice. I didn't think I'd done anything wrong. Both times the other driver was on the outside and turned in on me, but I suspect that both times they got to the corner first and the game deemed they had priority. They didn't hit me on purpose, they were just trying to make the turn and stay on the black stuff. Picked up a 3s penalty amongst that. Finished P6.

DR went up some, SR took a bit of a tumble, and if my current race history is anything to go by, the next race will see me drop to SR/A.

Have they done something to BMW M6? It seems to be all over the place

Can someone please explain the strategy for today's Daily Race C - Dragon Tail Garden II.

I just completely lost the plot and drove very badly during that race and seemed to loose time every straight
section of the track and the horrible big turn right before going up the hill.

Qualified 5th and came a miserable 13th.

I have TC aid only which I have to set at 3 because the NSX is too twitchy otherwise and no fuel map set at
1 throughout the race.

I'll try the other races for now till I hear what strategy I should use for Race C

Thank you for any tips in advance.

ok, so two more races. First was Race A. I put in not real great qualifying lap, but even if I did the best lap I could manage, I'd have still qualified P7/9. There was only one other DR/D, a C, the rest A and B. I was never going to be in the points. Finished P7, lost some DR but not a great deal, and my SR went up a few.

Second race I wasn't going to do, just qualify to get an idea of the track with Gr2. Entered the race instead when I saw I had 13 mins before the start. Again As and Bs but a few more Ds this time. Qualified P14/20. :nervous:

Race starts and there is bedlam with cars all over the place. I focused mostly on short shifting because the NSX is a pig on fuel, and staying on the track. I got better than half way on the first stint, but forgot to short shift on the second stint and ran short 1 lap before the finish, so had to do a splash and dash . My pit crew was clearly stoned . Finished P11.

So, SR up some more, I'm now back in the 90s. Because I beat drivers with a higher DR than me, still snuck in some points even though I didn't beat half the field. I'd say I'm in the top 1/3 of the DR/Ds. Not fast enough to hang with the Cs.

Another day above DR 1 :D.

They put the two most broken tracks in terms of limits, for race B now. Hopefully they can fix limits without the stupid wall tires. Other than that, choose your races wisely! 5th day on new account up to 32.7K DR 99 SR

After 3 hours and my left hand still hurt cause vibration

oh God, PD should put this layout more often more fluid than the non-reverse. I can throw all my attack move (From safe to trick one) on this layout

Well I am officially out from today's online races bar the FIA races but don't expect it will go well, I;m back down
to a pathetic DR of 2421 and 64 for SR so now D/B after trying once each race today.

Hopefully this is not the end of my online racing but if it keeps going this way I might have to throw in the towel.

Will finally get round to posting those video links of how I drive in a bit so people can comment as I'm clearly
not doing something right.

Sometimes you just get stuck with crappy matching or have a bad day. Don't give up! I've found that putting the time in when qualifying makes a difference. Rather than just jumping in to doing the qualifying as part of race entry, do the qualifying as time trial without race entry. If it's a race with a choice of cars, try different ones till you find one that suits you for that track, and keep doing laps till you are sure that at your level you couldn't get any more out of it. Final thing that helps me, survive the first corner :scared:!

Hang in there!

I fully agree to @Invisigoth!
If you want to climb up the ranks, put really much effort into qualifying! Its way easier to hold a front position as trying to literally fight your way through the field from behind. Besides, you're risking your SR that way.

During qualifying you'll learn the key points of the track. Chose only 1 race each day and try to maximize youre knowledge on it.
I dont need to know you to be sure that this will help you more than jumping into several tracks a day and look how far you get.

Take the leaderboard as orientation. As D- driver try to come lets say 3 or at most 4 seconds close to the 10th place time. Dont jump into the race before.

In a race dont risk to much, back off if necessary, never revenge actions. Keeping SR high will mix you with higher ranked players, and they are more likely fair

And: Never give up!

I've started this trick where I mentally chant the braking point prior to each turn. (ie, rumble strip, rumble strip, rumble strip). It seems silly but it really keeps me from zoning out on the lead car and botching my line.

So, Friday night. I had some of the worst daily races ever with pathetic matchmaking. Never have I seen such idiocy.
[Rant Incoming]
I hadn't done a daily race for a while, and because Group C cars are coming, I thought it would be a good idea to play on Friday night to earn some money. The first race I chose was Group 4 at Alsace and picked the Megane because I know that it's dependable. I started 9th which wasn't great but I still persisted. Right from the start I was being pushed around by other drivers as I worked my way through the field, and decided to push back in some parts. I got a penalty for the smallest of touches and it just went down from there. I got up to fifth but I didn't stay there for long. There were some other unfair penalties, more pushing from other competitors and dropped back to eight. I thought that was bad enough but I cocked up one corner and went back to 13th, and ended up gaining one more spot before crossing the line. The result of the shenanigans? Having my SR drop from an S to a B, for only about 20 seconds worth of penalties. What a joke. But the next race made my league look like a professional series.

I chose the Beetle Group 3 for my next race at Nurburgring GP, and started 3rd, but I was placed with D and C ranked guys. I had no clue what would go down. I was confident that I could win but that hoped was dashed in about 10 seconds. I was absolutely LIVID with the behaviour of some of these guys, I mean how could any of them be allowed to race? My woes began when a BMW Z4 rammed a BMW M6 and then shoved me up the arse, sending me right into the lead Porsche. I dropped back to 10th and that the set the tone for a dismal race which made me lose ALL HOPE IN HUMANITY. Crashes were more frequent than passes, and I was mauled by about half a dozen guys who HAD NO IDEA ABOUT RACING. I felt like people were purposely targeting me because I had a Beetle. There was one instance where a crash happened in front of me and there was a gap, which backfired horribly. I accidentally pushed one guy and got a penalty. That was one of many instances where I was treated unfairly. A Ferrari decided to stuff my race up by pushing me wide, an Alfa Romeo punted me off from 17th to last and a cheeky NSX who was weaving all over the place. I wanted to school those fools but wasn't very successful in doing so, and pushed a couple of people off. But who wouldn't after being put from 3rd to 18th? Thankfully I didn't stay in 18th and made my way back up to 9th. Funnily enough after I pitted I saw 3 separate crashes in front of me, highlighting the poor quality of racing. My rank got even worse, dropping to a B DR and a C SR. This was easily the CRAPPIEST RACE I'VE EVER BEEN IN. NOBODY KNEW HOW TO DRIVE. It was absolute torture having to deal with idiots through no fault of my own. I think the matchmaking system was drunk that night. I do NOT DESERVE to be treated like dirt; I have the right to racing room to YOU KNOW! Absolute ********.

It's not silly if it works :D
I struggled in Yamagiwa big time back then because I have no real marker for turn-in points, and when to floor the throttle near the exit. So I kept chanting a certain km/h which would be my marker when to turn-in (ie. 160 160 160). Now I think I'm rather decent at Yamagiwa

SR S to SR B because of 20 seconds of penalties sounds about right. I feel sorry for hoe you got then though :(

Making it work.

I hear ya. Had a similar experience last night in this race. First race was clean, Second race was ruined from the start. Starting 4th, 5th gets a good start and comes up my inside so I give him room going into turn 1. As I turn after him someone else comes flying in beside me and I hit him in the side, result 10 sec penalty. Then on the same lap at the sharp right hander the car in front brakes late and I take my normal line into the corner thinking he's going off. Nope he turns down on me and I hit him in the side, result another 5 secs. I continue on forgetting that time is being added to my penalties. I;m at 25 sec before I can pull over.

Then I try the Gr3 at Maggiore. Things didn't get any better. I guess the kamikazes were out last night. Net result for my time was SR 99 to 46. I got out before I could get a reset. I somehow managed to stay at DR/A. Sometimes this game can be so frustrating, but I quess you have to take the good with the bad. Or not race at all.

DT Gardens II had lots of up and downs today. Matchmaking was putting stupid rooms together making it hard to avoid all the chaos, yet I managed to come out at SR 99 and the tiniest increase in DR overall after 7 races, 8 pts.

My SR suffered briefly from doing the daily A after I got disconnected at the start of the 8pm C race. I got hit twice in that race, dropped to SR 80 from 99... and finished almost last. Maybe the disconnect added 5 points as well. That only made matchmaking worse for the next race.

As usual I don't like qualifying so I drove from the back every time, making up 11 places, usually clean except for one race where I got sandwiched a few times. That race was very aggressive with dive bombs in every turn making it hard to get away from the back. Gardens II is definitely the better layout, much more fun than the 'normal' way around. Perhaps they mixed them up....However it's still a dive bomb paradise with a penalty system that often rewards the diver.

Gaining 11 places wasn't enough though. I kept finishing 6th with door number 5 (except the one race at SR 80 where I finished 2nd). So for the last race I updated my qualifying time to start 9th instead of 17th. Result, punted in T1 to 16th. I guess that's one spot better than 17th.... I finished 6th again with clean race bonus despite getting punted off into the wall in lap 1 and getting stuck behind a 1 bar connection for 3 laps that jostled me around a few times before I could finally pass and get far enough ahead. How can the game let that continue for the whole race, every corner erratically jumping around 50 meters in all directions.

This is where I passed him. I probably hit him on his screen as I imagine everyone must have been jumping around on his console.

I was keeping my distance for 3 laps already, so when he disappeared I kept going not waiting for him to reappear yet again. His car almost punted me in the next lap and a half, shooting forward at every corner then resetting back again.

That was not the only race with a 1 bar connection interfering. The safest place to overtake is on the straight yet you can't get a run on a 1 bar connection as they always stall in the corner before correcting to actually being way up ahead. Frustrating.

Anyway GR.2 on DT Gardens II, very fun to drive. The red part should be off limits though and ghosting needs to be fixed. It's another combination where the penalty timer starts counting down when you lift off the gas in certain places, inviting more accidents with cars changing ghost status all the time.
