Not sure who I dislike more; the punters or the guys who manage to knock down the brake markers.

Enjoyed my first race in over a race. Took pole, fastest lap and the win at Bathurst. To be fair, I had been dropped down to SR A after a punt-fest at Dragon Trail - Seaside in my previous race, so it wasn’t against the tough competition I would usually get. But I’ll take it.
I think I hate the former first. The brake cone kickers are a pain in the arse, making it a little harder for braking. But can be remedied by knowing te braking points.

Yeh. So far I've been lucky. I still use the double cones, but I'm trying to mark different land marks for my braking points. I got caught at the second chicane at Monza and the final corner at Lagos before because I relied too much on the cones.
Yeah, I also try to have other markers as a backup. But, The Chase, at Mt. Panorama, is particularly tough without a marker due to the repeating logos on the side. I try to count which one I’m up to but when you’re concentrating on their cars around you, etc. it becomes very hard.

I used to make this mistake also, adjusting my braking points relative to the double cones.

To be fair, these cones are hit often unintentionally, just by an accident or avoiding an early breaker in the races.
What I really dislike is the hotlapper-type, who approach the corners so wide from the outside, that swipes the cones intentionally. (Wherever it is "allowed", and it means: faulty missing the proper track limit sensing.) And - just to keep fair also in this question -, there are places where they can be hit from a correct track position also, because there's simply not enough safe place for the cones.

I turned cones off, but I'm pretty damn sure my lines do this. Sorry :guilty:

I have yet to race on Mt. Panorama in this game. Today might just be the day.

Here's a pretty important tip for you. When you have to pit, slow down on the road leading to pit lane. There's a nasty chicane there and if you get it wrong, you hit the wall to the side of pit lane and get respawned on the start/finish strait. I ran out of fuel before I got to the first corner and had to do a full lap at 80kph .

Haha oh I know all about the pits, I did lots of public races in Forza Motorsport on this track and I have missed the pit entrance more times than i'd like to admit. The part I'm most worried about is carnage at turn 2 on lap 1.

I don't recommend the 458, NSX or 4C. Especially for me. At Mount Panorama.

Well, it worked for me :D Four races, always top 5  Also new DR record for me, at exactly 54265 :mischievous:

It's a lively car. Smooth and makes good noise. Qualifying it was awesome. In the race, I was getting mauled on the straights.

I stopped using the cones a little while back and it has been super beneficial for me in the long run when it came to races. I highly recommend everyone do the same, you don't need them. They aren't always in correct places anyway.

Never mind, I accept it. We - turtles :) - should learn our breaking points regardless of the cones. (And PD should code track limits consequently /endofmyusualrant ;))

Edit: just to make clear what I meant, as I'm not native english, "I accept" meant not that I accept you apology, as you absolutely don't have to. I wanted to say that I accept the situation, that anyone can have other intentions and other approaches, and that's not necessarily happening with "make harm to others" in mind.

One race on blue moon so far, lost 8 SR, eight! Both times I’d set up a nice exit on the last corner, end of lap three and end of six, when some numpty ploughs into my side. First one got me a one second penalty the second one did not. Still, eight points lost!

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead... and get some sleep.

Edit: Funny, I used the '77 Bathurst livery, surprised with PP, the number issued to the car is #7, I got a 5 second penalty at The Dipper, the car behind was closing at 5 seconds and finished 7 seconds behind.

If the rules (and penalties) are not consequent, that's what bothers me
It is not rocket science to sense and treat those damn track-edges consequently.
I'm absolutely in for the correct and fair, strict track limits, but everywhere. Consequently.

So consequently, tell us what you really think. :D I know what you're saying though, the penalties need to be handed out more consistently. And that's not just for track limits. I would like to see everyone, regardless of rank, receive the same penalties for incidents on track. I feel this would go a long way in cleaning up the racing in daily races. Also I have no problems with the track limits whatever they are. I think if they are going to allow a corner to be cut then take advantage of it. If you don't, you'll lose time to the people who do.

Quick supercut of one race C i did. Lots of crap involving Meganes and a Scirocco. Usual schtick. And one Spaniard who made it his mission because i passed him (not the cleanest).

N.b. No point telling me my driving is crap because I know it is dubious ar times.

Video is 5 mins long.

Is anyone else getting a lot of Network Errors preventing them from joining races today? Haven't had any in the past but getting a lot today.

Yeh, I just got dumped from Bathurst waiting for the warm up lap to finish .

I have done 3 races in Race C, no problems at all.

So thanks for the correction, didn't feel much difference. Good to learn; once a corner cut, other times some new trick to abuse the penalty system's weaknesses, or some language. The latter is the most useful one.

I did some F1500-GT races yesterday and Nurb GP can definitely use an update for the track limits, or a bigger radar screen to keep track of cars driving way out there! I'm still on my no qualifying streak wich at least made the standing starts less stressful. My best result was 4th place yet I only managed 2 clean race bonuses, too easy to get nailed by another car messing up or rejoining the track from another zip code.

My SR dropped in one race where I didn't quite miss the dive bomber, brushed me as he shot past into the gravel beyond T1 and I got the penalty of course. Then I bumped an early braker at the final chicane, my fault, it was only 3 sec penalty yet -12 SR for the race. Next race that was restored.

The car is exhausting to drive though. One race I'm looking up to see if it's almost over and I'm only in lap 3 :) I did half my races without a pit stop, either in fuel map 2 all the way or adjusting later. Then I switched to race full out and a quick pit stop in lap 5 for fresh tires. That lost me 3 positions or more at the pit stop, yet that made the second half much easier and I could make those position back before the end.

There was no chance at winning, A+ on pole did laps of 1:42, my best was 1:45, only once, a few 1:46, most 1:48. It took 3 races before I made it to the finish before the time ran out, and finishing within half a minute behind was about the best I could do. What a piece of work that car is.

Awsome races today, 2 favorites up, GR.2 Brands and Mount Panorama. Unfortunately I have other plans today, I guess it will be a late night. Then Gr.3 Sarthe tomorrow! I hope it's not too slow in gr.3. What's the meta going to be, Veyron?

Two races tonight. First race, Brands Hatch with the NSX. Did a few laps qualifying, felt comfortable about keeping it on the track, and waited for the bad news. P6 amonst DR/Cs and Ds. I'll take that :dopey:!

Felt a bit hectic, but I managed to hang in there. I did get an orange SR but otherwise kept my nose clean. Finished P5. Happy with that :D.

SR down by 3, DR up by enough to keep me in the game. Wasn't too sure how my dropped SR was going to hurt at Mount Crashadrama.

On to Bathurst race fans. Can I channel the spirit of 05? Erm... that would be no . tried to qualify with the WRX. It has worked for me that last couple of races on the mountain. Not this time. I noticed a previous time in the Viper, and I was off the pace to match that. Qualified P14/19, then was disconnected while waiting for people to finish warm up. Since there was time before the next race i tried pre-qualifying with the NSX. It was playing so much nicer than the WRX. I beat the Viper time by a second, so entered again with it. P7/14. Better :D. The grid above me was all DR/A and B, so I already knew I was rooted.

The race started and the first corner was mayhem. I got through OK and tried to get on with my race. I had to restrain myself with cars slower than me. I'm not good enough to try for a pass, but I managed a few times to pass on Conrod. The NSX sounds very angry, but it was doing the business!

Pit time, and I couldn't follow my own advise. Slowed down but not enough and ended up in the sand. Respwaned back on the start/finish . Lost time from the sand pit, and it put me off. I messed up the first corner and the second corner which lost me a lot of time. :odd: I was thinking that I wished the race was over, but I got it together and short shifted my way around the track and rolled into the pits on fumes. Came out of the pits in P10. And there I stayed. No time penalties, so that was good.

So, SR up to 99 ! DR was a shock. Figured I was going to loose a few hundred, but the miss match worked for me and I went up ! 808 DR to spend on my journey. Another day visiting DR/C :D.

did 3 races on Mt Panorama so far with the Lambo, I want to try a different car now though.

Did not qualify for the first race, started 18th, finished 6th. Did a few laps of qualifying started 7th and finished 4th in the second race. Did a couple more laps of qualifying, started 2nd and finished 1st in the third race.

I will get back at it after Canadian GP qualifying.

Hey guys, I've started becoming more and more competitive ever since I got a Logitech G29 racing wheel. Now I'm really starting to have fun and I'm going to upload races that I think I got a good performance on. So here's my first online race with the G29:

And here's a good example of karma (watch Eduuru closely at the end, he fell to last place in like less then 1 meter before the finish haha, and I also win in this race):

Btw, my PSN is Flashyman, I went by a different name on the forum. Is there a way to edit your forum name? Or do I have to contact an admin/moderator for that if it is even allowed?

How is that G29 wheel?

Yeah, 458 is a bit of slouch on straight, unlike it's big brother in gr3. I can't either turn or get decent speed in it, while gr3 one is a joy to drive (as long as I don't touch the grass :D).

Well, Brands is my enemy so I’m not sure I will even try it. The Mountain is a fun track to just drive but the racing can be nuts with people all over you when going down the serpentine road
I have come out of my slump and is back up to high 90s SR and mid B DR.
The other night I was in the same race as TRL_Doodle and was a bit star struck  sometimes the in race ranking is strange ...
