Last time I missed my braking point there, I wasn't so lucky as to breeze through the chicane. I hit concrete blocks in a strait line with my foot still flat to the floor :lol:. Apparently they haven't added the no chicane version of the track yet....... :rolleyes:.

It's there. I did a Scirocco One Make last night. With a tow from the AI, I did 278kmh
 
Well, that was stupid. Suzuka 10 laps. Everything went right and wrong. I got punted off at the last chicane again, managed to get back in the field, I enter the pitlane just as the racer in front of me crashed, he disappears before I enter but I still crash into him and get a penalty, exit in front of everyone, now in P3, only to find out I had one lap of fuel missing.

So long, S rank. You lasted me four races. :(

EDIT: NO WAIT, BACK TO S RANK AFTER ONE RACE. NEVERMIND.

I really don't understand the decision to continue using race settings that force a 1stop on RH like always but then to add RM tires also. The two stop strategy costs too much time in a 10 lap race, and the RM wear too fast to be compete on laps 4-5.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to lower the tire wear and make the choice between RH with no change vs RM w/change?

No matter where you set the brake balance slider, the braking distance will always be 100 when braking in a straight line. Fact.

Incorrect. Balance to the front will generally reduce braking distance at the cost of turn in under brakes.

Braking while turning also greatly impacts braking distance however.

With the right technique you can get 6 laps out of a tank. With the right technique you can get lower tyre wear. 6 laps on hards and 4 laps on mediums is doable, and several have posted as such. I'm no good so I'm not smooth enough to do that, so I had to do 5 laps on hards for both stints.
 
RM tires are a trap, I easily make up an extra one or two positions in lap 5 and lap 10 on race hards :)

My climb back up from D/E without qualifying is going rather well. Suzuka GR.2 is a great place to earn DR. In fact I'm already seeing familiar DR.A faces again in the line ups. GR.2 flows so nice through the esses. I did 7 races total:

Almost 6K DR for racing from the back. One race I had a shot at a win, however the car in the lead had lost it's collision detection and once I had passed him he was driving through me back into first. I didn't dare try the same thing yet he kept intersecting my car and obscuring my vision. I still got the fastest lap.

In these 7 races I only got one penalty for this

How do you avoid that... SR Down + 3 sec and 3 positions lost. I finished 5th in that race, had to pass 5th twice as I miscounted and served the penalty before the finish in lap 9, oops. Racing against humans is more fun since they learn from their mistakes. I passed him the first time in the hairpin. This time he was slow there again yet defending hard forcing me with a wheel on the grass so I could not accelerate. No matter, I passed him in the spoon curve instead.

Races were pretty clean. In the earlier 2 races I got bumped off a few times, seemed more inexperience than malicious. In the last race I got punted off by an aggressive driver. I'm leaning towards intentional, especially since he left the room quickly afterwards.

He came from behind another car with quite a lot of force. He spun out as well and the game reset me ahead of him, no penalty for me. Actually a clean race bonus afterwards.

Maybe he got annoyed after I draft passed him the lap before

Sorry, I need space to make the corner, bumping into me is not making me go away. The whole lap after he has very aggressive touching my bumper in the corners or nearly missing flying wide. I thought I had enough distance from him after I passed another car, guess not. No matter, he finished somewhere in the back, never saw him again in the race.

Great night over all, I wonder what tomorrow will bring. N300 on Tokyo, hmm that sounds slow. '66 GT40 again?
 
Only had the mettle for one race last night, I decided on Race B because I wasn’t in the mood for the ferocity of Gr.2 at Suzuka. Plus we only just had that a few days ago.

Only spent a few minutes qualifying and my rather weak time landed me a 14th place start on the grid, I finished the race with a clean race bonus before I shout about what happened.

I somehow got the jump on all the cars ahead of me as I flew past a few and they left the inside of turn one wide open I was in there like a tramp on chips. One car spun out after T2 so that was another place.

Three cars were involved in a bit of a ruckus going through the chicanes/esses and my clean line gave me a better speed as I overtook all three at once and I was up to 6th at the rollercoaster turn. I ceded my position to the guy with the outside line who got a better exit than me, so 7th from 14th in one lap was still good!

I followed this guy until the chicanes/esses where he made a bit of a blunder and I was able to pass him on the straight, where he pushed my car further and further to the right, I don’t know if to force me to slow down more for the turn or what? But he had the outside line and carried more speed through the turn, and upon exit he drove straight into the rear quarter of my car forcing me into a wild spin and off the road.

I didn’t have enough time to catch up only being a 4 lap race and my morale was down so I poodled at the back and ensured I maintained a clean race. That was enough for me one night. 1200 DR loss.

Wow 2 mins is pretty harsh! The most I've had is 1min at Tokyo (that's why I don't do Tokyo, too many idiots ramming you into walls). I know what it's like to get stuck in the middle. You have no where to go and there's no way to avoid contact. Just hang in there and hope the next race is better 👍.

I got most of it back this morning due to some better races so it should all be back to max SR after the end of today's races. 👍
 
I am gutted I could not find time on my favorite track for race A yesterday. Would do very well on Tsukuba with the GT86. Very disappointed.

Perfect car for the start, still needs some tuning, can go without a stop. But still a huge gap to the Fords.
 
Well I know it's early in the daily race best lap times but i just had a quick check and see my time of 1:01:070 is 67th on the leaderboard at the moment
for EU so I'm feeling pretty high knowing that, hoping I can knock a few more tenths of later.

I was going to partake in Race C today as well as was hoping Skyline's might have had a chance for a top spot but if it's all GT40's I'll sit that
one out and wait for another time for my Skyline video's.
 
That was brutal last night, not a huge fan of Maggiorrie but it was the only race i had any interest in. Lost a ton of DR and SR points, the track is conducive to contact as you always seem to be mid corner. More than a few times i hit a guy in front without meaning too, people's brake points seem to vary wildly, no consistency.

Of course once i got in the right car and started 8th, worked my way to 4th with excellent clean racing (for once) and the guy in 3rd flashing red penalty, I decide the car feels a touch too twitchy so i dial back the brake balance from 4 to 3. I hit the gas and aroooooooound I go ... down to 13th.

In changing the brake balance in a rush i had hit the TC toggle and moved TC from 2 to 1. All over.
 
First race up for me, Race A. I spent some time qualifying and just couldn't seem to go any faster. Optimal claims there was still 0.5s in there to be had. I figured I'd probably qualify about midway up the field. My bag of talent was depressingly empty. P12... that's dead last :yuck:.

The race starts and for a moment there I thought I was going to overtake P11, but no :rolleyes:. I was hoping that there would be large penalties all round for crashing into T1. Again I was denied. I scraped a couple of the walls, but not full impact and only briefly. Not enough to get a penalty, but enough to not get a clean race bonus :odd:. I traded places with P11 a few times, but nothing I make stick. Started last, finished last.

SR no change, DR dropped 820. Could be worse I guess :indiff:.

Got pushed down to SR C now, mainly due to cars [X-Bows] that get to the first corner around the same time as me, even though I have pole and am on the racing line they push down the inside fairly often. Leaving me in the wall..

Riiiiiiiiing, Ring my bell! Race B and after trying a few including the Citroen, I went with the NSX. The best I could manage was about a second slower than my best qualifying for NGP with the NSX. That got me P4 on a grid of DR/C and D with a lot of NSXs on the grid.

The race starts and the usual panic at T1 ensues. I get rear ended but manage to maintain control and get by loosing a position but no penalties. T1 mayhem behind me, I can settle in to focusing on staying on the track and not hitting anyone. This I manage for a while I had a 1.5s gap on the guy behind, but I managed to stretch that to 4. I gained a position somehow (I'm not sure how :lol:) so back into P4. I was right up the rear end of P3 and was fighting to avoid collisions. There were several opportunities for an overtake, but I suspected that if I tried, there would be contact, so I wussed out. Finished P4, better than last! Looking at the finishing positions, there were a lot of penalties incurred at some point. I got a clean race bonus :D.

SR the same, DR up to 13 shy of where I finished last night. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.
 
Dear, oh dear. Race B at the 'Ring I had a decent start but somehow accumulated 15 seconds worth of penalties by turn 3. A couple of drivers hit me from behind, but with bare minimum contact. Not near enough to ruin my race and certainly not worthy of giving me a 10-second then five-second penalty punishment. Definitely not worthy of giving the drivers behind any penalties from hitting me either as like I said, the contact was at worst minimal.

At Blue Moon for the GRMN race I had the inside line into turn 2 when some guy cut across me and I was awarded a 4 second penalty and he got 1 second. He then has the nerve to say "thanks for ruining my race" when he finished second I was lucky to get top 5. He then hits me with a "potatoes" jab due to the Irish flag next to my name. Good one mate as never in 10 years of online gaming have I heard that one before...

Shame really as I had a blast yesterday in the Gr. 2 Suzuka races. Didn't get a win but I had some great, clean battles and the NSX stuck to the track like glue, especially in Medium tyres! Gonna have to get my SR back up to the way it was yesterday as it's dropped all the way from S to B in the space of 2 races today :( Hopefully tomorrow's dailies bring more joy.

If you don't go for a gap that exists you're no longer a racing driver... :D
 
My all around N400 tune work well at N300 too , i'm not really a specialist of Tokyo , rarely i drive there , so i think the car is OK for most of us. Very easy drive , for more eagerness raise the rear end.

I just did a quick test race on Tokyo. Besides handicapping myself by not qualifying I forgot to reset the gearbox from racing on Brand's hatch, so I was pootling along on the straight with a max speed of 230 kph, cars zooming by. Driving like an old granny still got me up to 9th place, at the back of all the GT40's since that seems to be the popular choice now.

Later on redemption, I hope 290kph max is enough for drafting. I ran the straight as a test at 271kph, that's a bit better than 230kph!
 
First post worthy of this thread! Qualified 2nd, and had a huge crash on the first lap. Managed to pull a major comeback.

The audio cuts out around 6 minutes in and the screen goes red because (insert reason here) for a couple of seconds. Nothing much I can do about it.
