With another 7K DR earned Tokyo got me back to where I was before getting reset to DR.D. Racing without qualifying in the GT40 is no recipe to avoid getting punted in T1. Here the cars behind me team up to bump me, trying to out brake each other forgetting about the car in front...

Of course then I get called out as dirty for hitting the purple car... Can't absorb a team punt with these old brakes.

I only got one penalty in the 9 races I ran for this.

Car from behind loses control, pushing the car next to me into me and into the car in front so we both slam into the wall, after which I get punted by a car coming from further behind, gambling he can race through the ghosts and punts me into the car that slammed into the wall in front of me.

Now in the first instance I did not get a penalty for getting bumped into the car in front. In the second no clue from which contact the penalty came. No matter, still got 3rd place in the end.

Best result so far was 2nd place, only one without a red dot. The next race is up with the penalty changes. Not that I'll see much difference as I was still racing as DR.B, 5K to go to DR.A. I guess it really is better now to hit cars instead of avoid and take a 5 sec wall penalty.... Will see how it goes.

And never mind, disconnected from network at the start with this lobby.

That's going to cost quite a bit of DR...

Here's my lap for Race A that is fifth in the Americas region that I got with less than one minute to go before maintenance.

Just tried the Daily Race B (Blue Moon) and it is pretty much as expected. Got hit a number of times until finally a guy managed to pit manoeuvre me and spin me. I think only 1 person got a penalty (not the guy who pitted me) and there was only a couple of red markers at the end.

So new penalties seem like a success to me :)

Got a 4th in the Scirocco after a 1,2,3 Megane podium. Might have had a chance if I didn't get punted. Still had a clean race.

This one, not so much. An early braking Megane was slowing me up and cars behind. I showed the nose a couple times and backed off. Down the front straight, there was a bit of trouble ahead. I anticipated the Meagne doing an early brake and I braked. Then, it turned in a bit much as I was slowing to the inside. Bang! 10 second for shunting it.

Thought it would be a clean race as everyone were following the train and behaving. Pitted on lap 6. Moved up a couple spots and ran sandwiched(about 3 seconds) between two C7s to the finish.

Edit: Mustang ran good, but the tyres fell off a cliff, when the left rear started to wear.

I'm not a winner player in GTSport but this is not a problem for me , I like the possibility to have fair and challenging races .

Yesterday i did only five races in the daily C, changing car for every race (I'm used to it)..

The alfa 4C of the first race was without setting except the LSD (by praiano)
and the gear (final only), for the other races (and cars) i have to thank  Praiano .

The last two races (Audi R8 and KTM) with a scarce 👎 qualification time :p:yuck:

Dear, oh dear. Race B at the 'Ring I had a decent start but somehow accumulated 15 seconds worth of penalties by turn 3. A couple of drivers hit me from behind, but with bare minimum contact. Not near enough to ruin my race and certainly not worthy of giving me a 10-second then five-second penalty punishment. Definitely not worthy of giving the drivers behind any penalties from hitting me either as like I said, the contact was at worst minimal.

At Blue Moon for the GRMN race I had the inside line into turn 2 when some guy cut across me and I was awarded a 4 second penalty and he got 1 second. He then has the nerve to say "thanks for ruining my race" when he finished second I was lucky to get top 5. He then hits me with a "potatoes" jab due to the Irish flag next to my name. Good one mate as never in 10 years of online gaming have I heard that one before...

Shame really as I had a blast yesterday in the Gr. 2 Suzuka races. Didn't get a win but I had some great, clean battles and the NSX stuck to the track like glue, especially in Medium tyres! Gonna have to get my SR back up to the way it was yesterday as it's dropped all the way from S to B in the space of 2 races today :( Hopefully tomorrow's dailies bring more joy.
I had the same last night there was hardly any contact from me or from others yet there were penalties everywhere, I got a 4 sec penalty for brushing the guy in front he didn't even change line. This needs to change to allow racing to be more competitive.

when did the penalty system change?

Round and around and around we go! Gr3 at Blue Moon. Did some laps till I felt I could stay off the walls, then entered. I started P11 on a grid of all DR/D. Seems the most popular car was the Toyota FT-1. I went with the Viper.

I was hoping for another clean race bonus, but clearly I don't do the whole drafting thing :dunce:. Most races I'm not close enough to the car in front to get a tow. The upshot was the extra speed messed up the braking and coasting points. I scraped the walls a few times but it was light enough and brief enough not to get any penalties. Did screw up my clean race idea though . It wasn't till the last couple of laps that I got a clue. I kept getting closer to the car in front of me and backing off because I was worried about a collision, when instead I should have passed :dunce::dunce:. It's not like I was short of room! I did this finally and re-took a position I had lost earlier. I was sure I was less than 5 seconds behind the next car, but somehow still finished behind, despite his 5s penalty. Finished P10. Better than last, but the DR hit was painful. Not as many yellows as I was expecting.

DR down to less than 2k. SR unchanged at 99. Lets see how Race C treats me after midnight.

Hopping into race C with a 1:29.329. Less than ideal, but it's less than 1 second from the Top 10 :) hopefully the new penalty system will do me a favor and put my SR back at 99 for the upcoming FiA race

Here in the EU the no stopper was the winner earlier, some are really good at it, lots of fuel saving needed yet they are still quick. Quicker than your qualifying time in some cases for some laps for instance. I don't know how they do it, I ran map 2 almost all race and did a bit of short shifting and it was still tight on fuel, I even ran out a couple of times. :O

Of course it's a Megane Trophy one make again, no choice really.:indiff:

Hmm... this will be an interesting battle. Not quite sure how I can fuel save given that my throttle is now stuck at 10% when I don't press it

Usually I'll just pit and try to overtake but... Brands isn't really a good place to overtake. Maybe fiddling with the Fuel Map (4 on the technical part, 2 on the straights maybe. 1 if I'm somehow in the lead) will help a bit?

Pitting might work if you run flat out and don't take tyres, it depends on what traffic you get, if you start getting held up you can't go fast enough to make it work.

On my side, I only short shift. I keep the fuel map at 1 all race long. I qualified with a 1.28.6. I'm consistent in flat 1.30.0 in race and I usually push for 1 lap to hit a best lap which is usually between 1.29.3 and 1.29.6.
And I still have fuel left at the end of the race with that.

NOTE: I shift right before the rev limiter hits the middle of the colored bar.

I used @Litchi's advice and got second :)
I had the pace to chase 1st down, and I was consistently hitting mid 1:30s as well. I had more than one instance where I was dangerously on the grass and had to tip-toe my way, so I wasn't able to get 1st

And brooooooo the Megane Trophy js so freaking OP I swear. 3rd was in a normal Megane and get this: he's 27 second behind me, and 29 seconds behind the leader

Time to match the Hatch! Which I didn't. This is the first race I've seen a predominance of Meganes since everyone started to whine about them. My grid was a mix of DR/B, C and D so maybe the "what's everyone using?" mentality crept in. I went with the Viper and qualified P8. Not too unhappy with that :dopey:.

Well I started off alright. Protected myself through T1 and 2 and worked my way up to P4. I pitted lap 8. The tyres were unhappy, so I threw on a new set of boots. My pit crew is as amateurish as me. Being a privateer I can't afford a proper one . Time for the splash and dash. I *really*, *REALLY* need to learn how to count :banghead:. Yeh, for some reason which my twisted little mind refused to correct me on, I thought it was a10 lap race. 2 laps of fuel please? I came out P5 and realised my screw up. To add insult to injury I got an orange SR in auto drive exiting the pit. Wasn't speeding entering the pits, no other car within 5s of me. Bloody clueless. I short shifted and tried to use taller gears in a vain attempt to finish the race without pitting for a second time. Lost 2 places in the process. I managed to get on to the final lap, and ran out of fuel about half way round. The car lost drive and even in 1st there was no engine noise for quite some time before the speedo finally registered 80kph. The race finished just as I was about to reach the final corner. P11. Better than a kick in the teeth :O.

SR still on 99. Think I only lost a few DR. Disappointed, but not demoralised.

Race C is easy one stop as long as you manage in the right way (in Megane trophy)
Stay in map 1 the whole time and short shift
If your behind another car use there slipstream and short shift half revs you’ll stick with them
Out of t2 short shift early to third and fourth as it’s down hill don’t lose much time
By the time I reach t4 I pick up 5th gear
Shifting half revs maybe slightly more on the up hill but once your over the crest a bit earlier save more fuel
After the 3 fast rights the short straight to the left I get into 5th just by short shifting no point getting extra speed there and so on
The best part is when you wanna overtake you just use max revs down the straight and it’s like Drs compared to someone short shifting

Did one race at Brands last night. Started on pole (in the Megane Trophy of course,) short shifted as much as possible to stay in the top pack of 3 cars. The other cars in the top pack weren't Meganes . After they pit, I switched to fuel map 2, short shifted, and coasted to an easy 13 second win. I didn't pit and tires were good all race long. My best race lap was a 1:29.9xx, definitely could've gone faster, but why?

I'm pretty sure it was the first Brands race of the night, so took advantage of people not knowing the strategy. Honestly though, can't expect to win there without the Megane Trophy if matchmaking is decent.

It just seems so wrong to shift so early, that's why I'm not very good at it, I was the same when everyone was doing this (to an even greater extent) with the M4 back in the day. It's not like I'm doing really bad but I could do better and therefore go quicker whilst saving fuel. ;)

My qualifying lap could have been better too, at Brands Hatch I always mess up the laps where I drive a good first half of the lap and end up with my best time having a slow first part of the lap but a good ending.

Got in some races at BMB last night. Snagged a couple poles and a win. One race I started P2 behind Turismo-lester. I got the lead from him near halfway. After battling a couple cars he caught back up and bump drafted me for the last few laps. Going into the final turn I slid up a little high and left him room to turn under me. I thought we were gonna have a drag race to the finish line but someone hit his rear and he got into me and I bounced off the wall. The boost he received assured him the win and I finished 4th. Oh well, one of these days I'll get lucky and beat him. So yeah, with the new penalty system bump drafting was in full force. It was really fun racing without picking up those ticky tacky fouls. However in another race I was running 3rd drafting up to 2nd in turn 3 on the last lap and someone hit me from behind and sent me into him. I received a 10 sec penalty which dropped me to 12th in the results. So there was that.

Also did one race at Brands in the Trophy. First time in this car on this track. Started on pole with a 1:29.6xx. Got punted into the kitty litter on turn 1. I assume it was a chain reaction thing as 2nd went off with me and a couple other cars spun. So I was forced into running a Sven Jurgens race as I was last after being reset. I used the short shift strategy and just ran consistent laps without pitting because I've read on here that was a viable option. Passed a couple cars and watched others go off. Then the pit stops started and I found myself in 2nd with a couple laps left. Finished there 8 secs behind a WRX that avoided the T1 melee. I had a Huracan and a 650S on my ass at the line. I believe I could have won had it not been for the first lap off track excursion. Saw a lot of cars wearing the red dunce hat, but I think that's typical on this track.

The Vantage seems to be really quick and frugal. I followed one in the Scirocco, up until lap 10. No tyres just fuel.

A Trophy caught up and passed me and I still wound up finishing 3 seconds behind that Vantage(served a penalty). If I short shirred I could have done a one stop. NO matter, just racing around the Righturn Hatch.

Here is an example of what I said earlier, I mean the consistency + best lap. I'll share the replay if you wish 👍
