PD was hearing a lot of complaints that people were missing races I guess, why this and that race only sunday etc etc. Now they made it available for everyone to enjoy a certain combo. Not realizing that this new system will give way more complaints than the old one...

Daily Race C - Final lap.

Fantastic to see you defend ! Brilliant last lap ! Last corner I understand Sven Jurgens but it is a race and adrenaline and you deserved the win so great racing mate !

Big news guys.

Daily Races are turning into Weekly Races

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_3960825.html

Starting on Monday, July 30, 2018, we will be changing the update interval for daily race events from every day to 1 week.

This will be implemented from the end of the server maintenance on that day.
The hosting hours of the races will not change.

Please continue to enjoy Gran Turismo Sport.
Yeah if only we would get a good track then.

If they change it to weekly then provide more than three races.

Many thanks! Looking to the radar mid corner is a bit tricky. Some times you have to hope that you are in front of the other car.

The best races are the races with completely different cars.

This is from a daily race, a while ago. I finally uploaded it because it's really funny. It's the last lap at Tokyo Expressway, and myself and one other racer had separated from the pack. After the move he tried to pull, right before the finish line, I couldn't stop laughing for a long time.

Edit: make sure your speakers are on, to hear the result.

That is classic

Weekly races WTF, as someone who plays daily I have no desire to be stuck on the same combo for a week at a time. Seems a step backwards? Definitely a bit late for an April Fools joke. :banghead:

Yep dreadful idea, a real step backwards. Surely the best idea, if they wanted/needed to change them from daily, was to run them on a 2,2,3 schedule so each race is there for two days at a time (three days over Friday and the weekend). Oh and add another longer race with fuel/tyre wear as Race D so those that only race these have a couple of choices too.

PD are clearly just trying to get more casual players to race, which won't happen whatever they do and these changes will just mean the more experienced drivers are going to race even less and the very top guys are still not going to race these events either, massive own goal.

Tried the new Ford around Sainte-Croixe.. Mother of loose suspensions on that GT!
Felt like driving a Samba bus around:boggled:
Not to mention crazy oversteer.

Still uploading 1.23 so can't comment on that except to say I'm happy to see 'Weekly' races, like we used to have.

The way it is, no sooner do you get accustomed to a track and decide which car is best for you and bang, it's gone.

What I do not like is why we can't have our previous 'best time' ghost (when it is a different car) to race against in the time trials before each race.

I may be wrong here but I'm sure we used to have them in the Time Trials in previous GT editions.

They could add a category with weekly races, and maybe only put 2 races a week in there, much like the daily B and C races, or instead of weekly races, a biweekly category for Mondays till Thursdays and Fridays till Sundays with 2 races like daily B and C.
If there are enough players (which I think during the day there are) I don't see why PD shouldn't introduce something like this.

Weekly races make sense if they add another category with longer race duration. I've mentioned this elsewhere, but the longest event races GT Sports currently has are the equivilent of short sprint races. If there was a longer race with a more spread out entry time, I can totally get down with the idea of having a certain track be active for a week since you won't actually race 100s of times on it.

Also, with week long events I feel there needs to be additional perogitive to not race a single car all week long. The biggest problem is that if you don't use the car that performs best is that your DR will tank, so I can totally see a full week of Gr. 4 with nothing but Megane Trophy or Bugatti depending on the track. A full week only amplifies balance problems.

It would be better if they at least kept the 3 daily, and added a couple that they made weekly like a Gr3 / Gr4 race as standard because the chances are then if they have a bad selection of daily’s a Gr3 or Gr4 is a decent race if all else fails
That's what I meant, keep the 3 dailies, and add 2 weekly or even biweekly races. And what Ferr3t says ofcourse. 👍

Well I couldn't really participate in daily races anyway to avoid DR loss but it was nice to do a daily race hot lap when a combination I liked came up. Now they'll be much fewer and farther between and people will have much longer to keep lapping and lapping until they fluke a good lap (hardly qualifying is it). Oh well.

WEEKLY RACES?????

WEEKLY RACES?????

What am I going to do! That will certainly have a huge effect on my play style. If Saint-Croix isn't amazing I'll be playing something else by the end of the week and once the addiction breaks....

I hope PD reverses this decision fast. Add a 4th race that stays for a week, perfect. Not keep all 3 for a week. Does qualifying stand for the whole week as well? The best thing of GT Sport was the variety, something new every day. This kills that off completely.

What will certainly end my streak is a combo like this
daily A Alsace One make sports tires
daily B GR.4 NGP
daily C One make GR.4 Magiorre
Something like that bores me to death on a single day :/

Oh well, I'll jump into the new track tonight fully unprepared. Got a week to repair damage anyway.

On the other hand, a whole week of N24 will put me at DR.A+. However a whole week of Interlagos will likely put me at DR.D...

At work, haven't downloaded the update.

Am I reading this correctly? WEEKLY races? Are there NO Daily races now? That's horrible, if true. I'm ok with a weekly race, but you need a daily.

And I've seen the question asked a few times already, so I'll add to it. Does that mean that qualifying lap holds up for the entire week?

That's a really stupid idea. Sport racing participation will drop significantly.

At least some positive news, I got my first win on the new circuit!! :D 👍 It was a clean race except for hitting a wall once or twice, I was P1 the whole time, had to save some fuel in lap 3 (half the lap at fuel saving 2 was enough) or else I wouldn't have made it to the pit stop, as I exit the pit I'm still more then 5 seconds ahead and I finisihed like 3,5 seconds ahead of P2.

I've had some very very bad races lately, a lot of bad luck with other people's lag also, but especially the one I did before this one was horrible, I know SR B isn't good, but there were some truely hopeless cases of madness in that race. They were all racing sooo damn aggressive... My main focus now is to get back to SR S, don't care about my DR, it's never been that high anyway. SR B is hell.
I simply can't enjoy races with people driving so aggressive, it's not even that they make mistakes, no it's really on purpose pushing other cars of the track, simply ignoring the fact that they probably got a penalty for it too.
