Crap Group 4 race yesterday. Made my way up to 6th place, pitted and went backwards from there. Ended up 14th after starting 16th. Those Meganes need to have a weight increase and a fuel consumption increase, because the race was essentially cut in half - there were people who drove the Megane, and those who did not. Those who pitted, and those who did not. All that effort completely negated...:grumpy:

Tried the M4. Did good. Horrible fuel economy, but is pretty stable. Those Slophys really do trip over each other. Just get off the gas for a second. Sheesh.

Yeh, after they nerfed the M4's fuel economy it went the other way, now too thirsty. Its good around brands or tsukuba, but doesn't have the pull on a track with long straits. I found that out on our home turf. Great across the top of the mountain, but easily passed on Mountain Strait and Conrod. :scared:

It's good to see some different liveries. It's kinda sad to see the starting grid for a race with garage cars and they all have the stock livery. :odd:

Yeah. Everyone are pretty much "home". Think there only 4 or 5 non Renaults in that last one. Getting boring with no variety. Might just buy a Cayman and run that into the next Gr. 4 race. Seriously, can't wait for the kei cars.

Edit: Right now. Silly

Edit2: Cayman was pretty damn good. 20th to P14.

Pit for tyres only. Probably didn't need to, with even wear all around. Realised I wasn't near redline, but pace was excellent. I pushed it last few laps and had the measure of those "11s". Couldn't shake me. Great turn in, stability, acceleration, grip. Nice car.

Dropped 5k dr at brands so far due to my refusal to run the metagane and then being constantly divebombed and bump passed by them. So now im going off the back in the Huracan race. That should be better haha.

My daily race report, a bit of a rollercoaster night, 16 races total.
2GRc.jpg

First race I jump in with 11 seconds to spare, don't know the braking point at the second chicane for the different speed approach, yet manage not to hit anyone and finish 7th.

Then I get a streak of 3rd places. The races are still very messy and by the third a brake checker gets me. He brakes hard for no reason, I bump him, he continuous without any problems, I get 5 seconds and drop to 84 SR for that.
That already puts me with slower people, still dirty yet easier to get away from them, clean race, 2nd place, only +2 SR to 86.
Next race I manage a clean victory from the back, fun stuff, still only worth +4 SR, to 90.

After a break I head back to Monza for 2 crap races, first someone turns in on me then cuts the corner so I get the penalty, 4th place, down to 81 SR. The next race a track re-entry blocks the way while someone punts me from behind, I get 10 sec, down to 5th place finish and 69 SR.

Since Monza is too dirty I switch to Brands to fix my SR. First race goes great, start 9th without qualifying, finish 2nd with clean race bonus for +16 SR while pitting with the Hurracan and passing some people twice for that. Back to 85 SR.S. However in the second Brand's hatch race the penalty system royally screws me with 2 penalties right after each other for 8 sec total. I try my best to avoid a wobbly car but no. 5th place finish with those penalties is still a decent result. However SR down to 75 SR.A again.

Brand's isn't much fun with all the Trophies, screw SR, back to Monza, where I promptly get a 10 sec penalty for a car cutting in front of me to cut the corner. Our bumpers brush which doesn't affect either of us, which means he still cuts the corner which counts as touching a car that then goes off road -> 10 sec penalty. 5th place with 10 positions gained, yet SR now at 64, SR.B

Ok, I give up, not qualifying is not working. I set a time, get pole and start a clean streak with 4 victories and a second place. Easy wins be damned, I tried racing and the game just won't allow it tonight. Easy is relative on pole at Monza anyway. The way to make it is to let one car draft up a bit then switch over to the inside to let 3rd place catch some draft so they're about even heading to the chicane. Then brake right on time to get out of the way and watch the fireworks in the mirror. Plus the race I got 2nd and the last race were both awesome battles to the finish with another clean driver. Especially the race where I got 2nd. I've never gone side by side in as many corners in one race as in that one. Great stuff.

And what's a clean streak of 5 contact free races worth in the daily A, 20 points. 4 SR per race. So I'm only at 84 at the end of the night. DR went up 3.8K from all that.

Tomorrow GR.4 x 2 again ugh. Corvette C7 on the mountain for me!

Did not expect this with this car

Look how close we were.
DjQXhTjU0AAKHug

The "11" collided with the Pole 86, at the first left sweeper. From there, I was even with the wedge thing. Gave it space dropped a bit and caught them back up.
Trying the "real" GT4 cars(Cayman, Vantage, Mustang, M4, Jag).

Edit: The Vantage was a write off. Twice cars that were spinning, crossed right in front of me. Tried slowing and evassive action, BUT nope. Magnitized to my car.

The Mustang was perfect. Qualified 2 seconds faster than the Cayman. Took 2nd away from the Slophy. Kept the lead one honest.
DjQgo3lU0AAQt1t

Edit again:
Snagged 1st from a Megane RS after it kept blocking. Then it tried hitting me on my side. I got a 4 second penalty for staying in my place while it toured the grass on the front straight.

That resistance allowed a Slophy to catch up and pester him to the finish line. I served my penalty and still came 2nd.
M4, you served me well.

Running Beetle at the mountain with no qualy went with a no pit strat and won with +14 places think I was down in AA back to AS now

Todays races:

Race A: One Make - Lamborghini Huracán Gr.4 on Racing: Hard - Interlagos - 4 laps - Standing start
Race B: Gr. 4 - Alsace Village - 4 laps - Rolling start
Race C: Gr. 3 - Mount Panorama - 9 laps - 6x Fuel / 9x Tires - Rolling start
I don't like any of these above. I don't even have a single positive view about it.

Any tips for the limbo standing start:bowdown:. Got lot of spin till the car get going:confused::confused::confused:

Still getting those stupid 10 second penalties for the slightest contact, ruined both races so far today and cost me -20SR, regarding starting in the Lambo I just had traction on 1 until I got moving then turned it off. Didn't do me any good, started last and finished there to. Am hoping the new update sorts this penalty thing as it currently makes a lot of races a total lottery as it seems just one small touch gives a SR penalty of around 10 points?
Trying Race B now as A seems too risky, but can I choose any car or do I need to be in a Trophy to win? Anyone won in anything other than the Meta? ;)

Went to race Race A this morning..............it was a mistake :banghead: too much understeering for my taste, so I switch to Race C with the Skyline........it was much better :mischievous:

Going into t2 at bathurst (griffins bend) a car up in midfield had a big stack causing multiple cars to dead stop basically with me at the end of the queue following a car nowhere to go instastop and 10 sec penalty wtf how are am I supposed to avoid that

Whoohoo! Congrats dood(ette).

Unfortunately, I'm a dude

It's a good match for the track, but I beat my best time by almost 2s after 2 laps with the NSX. Still too slow. P13/20 with a mixed grid of DR/B/C/D. ...

On a personal view, I love the NSX. However, on tighter/technical circuits, it seems to not able to excel as well. There are certain instances maybe it’s not able to turn as sharply as well, and after the BOP is done, acceleration off the line doesn’t feel as great. One of the key factors I would like to think is the fact that the car has weight added to meet the BOP requirement, compared to say the TT Cup and Scirocco as two examples where they are able to keep their weight at 100%.
I will also take into account personal driving level and style, where I still struggle with MR cars, needing to use TCS 2. Despite that, it’s stable and not hard to manage. The GT3RS is the only car recently where I have confidence to use TCS 1, granted, power also got reduced for the N400 class Daily Race.

My comfort with Brands Hatch has mainly stemmed from doing the 4WD challenge with the Evo 10 for Mileage Credits previously, so that’s where my familiarity came. Not only so, when the Peugeot L500 comes into play, it’s a massive uphill battle. I picked the FF cars, cause in a stupid thought, it would be closer to how an All wheel drive car can react, with the two front wheels pulling you out.

Long term wise coming to think of it, it may be sad, but there may be a chance I might drop the NSX from the roster in the future. I hope to find a circuit where I can use it knowing that I can bring out it’s potential despite BOP and proceed high in the finishing standings.
I hope I didn't slow you down too much. I hadn't noticed you because of the extra bit at the front of your PSN and I thought you raced under a different flag. Next time I'll try to say "hi" pre-race :).

And no, you didn’t slow me down at all. But I got annoyed with the traffic I was following in the back, so I pitted in lap 5 rather than in lap 6. Yeah, I didn’t put the first three letters in cause I thought I would keep it a little separate lol. :boggled: I can use my other psn account, but I decided to start fresh.

Invisigoth
If you look at the top 10 you'll see almost 1 make, but at our level there's a good mix. People just race what they want.

That’s true and a good insight. But I’d love to practice with a car other than the Megan Trophy to an extent where I can still keep up with them. It’s more interesting when the driver does the work, than the car compensating for any or all of your mistakes.

Back in the Village again. It was pretty crap. I could just end the race report there, but I suppose I shouldn't. Again with the NSX. I seem to have days where a particular car works well and other days where on the same track it doesn't. This is one of those days. P14/15 on the grid. Mixed DRs

I got off to a good start, and gained 5 places, until I was dive bombed off the track and gifted a 5s penalty and an orange SR. Down to last place. I know I've been able to go much faster, but I just couldn't seem to throw decent laps together. Finished P14.

DR down 800, SR down 2.

Daily A at Monza is a lot of fun with the Lambo, especially in the no chicane layout. I noticed however that it's better to start at the back than at the front. The first race I competed in I started 9th and managed to finish third. I then set a quali time good enough for second place in my third race and got punted at the chicane before Lesmo and limped home in eighth.
Qualifying near the front of a race is generally a waste of time in my experience. It's definitely a waste of time when there's 10/11 cars slipstreaming you doing 160mph and it's a tight chicane. I must have done that race seven or eight times last night and I think the best I managed was being in third going on to the back straight. Any other time I was in the sand or had phantom penalties applied for stuff I couldn't avoid.

A pole and two wins though, so the night wasn't completely wasted.

Good evening and welcome race fans, welcome to all the drama of Mount Panorama! For some reason I've been boogying with the Merc GT3 lately. It does look pretty sinister in matt black, and the handling has been fairly friendly. I tried qualifying with a few of my other Gr3 faves, namely the RSR, the love bug and the Viper. For some reason tonight the Merc just seemed to gel. Still came as a bit of a surprise to qualify P4 . The grid was a mix of DR/C and D.

Auto drive kicks out and I'm glad it waited till the strait to let go. We hurtle towards Hells Corner and I have better gearing so I'm alongside P3. The only corner I really seemed to struggle to get a tight line with is this one, so I brake a bit early to let him through and duck in behind and hope no one rear ends me off. Next was Griffins Bend where someone crashed and I took a tight line around the curb and start my climb. Was really happy to be able to take the cutting with the same line I've seen from the GT cars in the 12 hour. Usually take the same line the production cars from the 6 hour take :O. Across the top of the mountain and I'm right up the rear of P5, mess up my braking coming out of Skyline and spin out on the esses :nervous:. Remarkably I managed to come out of it with no penalty *and* without loosing position :scared:.

I was keeping up with the pack when cars started to peel off into the pits. I kept going in P2 and pitted lap 5. My tyres were tired, so new set of boots for the Merc. I saw my position as P10, but when I came out of the pits it went up to P5. If I could maintain that I'd be very happy :dopey:.

Well, I passed 2 cars. The second one on the last lap before Murry's. Unfortunately I overcooked it in my exuberance and found something other than tarmac under my wheels. I lost the position I just gained and finished P4 with no penalties. Happy with that on home turf :D.

DR up 50 short of what I lost at the Village, and SR back to 99 :). Another day visiting DR/C :D.

race A (monza without chicane, huracan) is fantastic, lol
5 wins in a row
this is like russian roulette on first corner  if you surive you should win

I can't believe I'm saying this, but that was easily one of the best combos for a daily Race A I've seen in quite sometime.

And I'm saying I can't believe it because I generally don't like Lambo's. However that Group 4 Huracan was sweet.

and I wasn't even angry if someone rammed me, because it was short race and always something interesting happened on that first corner
I just laughed hard, this was just like best funny lobbies in GT5
and I managed to win 6 of 12 races, 5 in a row + a few pole

Welcome back after not doing a sport race for 4-5 weeks, it feels longer, might be, might not.. in any case i was a total disaster, earned as many penalties as i ever have and got distracted by real life and took out another driver out so hard i decided to quit the race and take the punishment. I did message him that i was sorry, but his race was ruined. SR / 2 after that race.. did one more race and had more fun, got a 10 second penalty, ended up rear ending someone that went off and then came on just in front of me.. thats racing and i did have a blue B after the race..

Looking forward to some new stuff tomorrow :/

I swear these Brazilians drivers are brake checking ***holes. My sr went down from an S to a B in 3 races. I'm clearly faster than them but they want me to run into them so they can get an easy win while I serve my 10 second bs penalty.

And if I'm in 1st place too long they brake hella late and use me as a wall pushing me off the track and I get the penalty. This game especially on sport mode needs a moderation system where people can review who playing dirty to give them a race suspension for an hour.

Edit: welp I have to take a break for the day because now my SR is almost B. I can't even drive hard now without the fear of being braked checked or hold my racing line without getting t-boned .

That is so afwul and recognisable. One thing goes wrong and its not even your fault. And you can start all over winning just 10 races before youre back at that level. Whilst the plan was to gain some DR in the first place...

This is by far the funniest thing I have seen in a long long time :D

Youre making it way to complicated. If you got a penalty. Serve the penalty. Thats it. After some time the penalty will gain itself if you dont serve it.
Yeah but the seconds of penalty were undeserved, how can I get penalty if others push me and almost got me off the track?

Did some races in mount panorama.

Some tracks are just not meant to be for clean racing. Unfortunately I missed the time to jump off.

After beeing ruined in several races I finally did the right thing in the last race: rage quitt

I will stick back to tracks like yamagiwa, Interlagos, suzuka and nürb

Hopefully the new track tomorow is not a trap- track like this and monza
