Here are some more clips from St.Croix, Broken start, broken penalties, broken pit exit (dumb idea for the pit exit to be on the racing line and making people gamble with ghosting) and a broken player. No clue how he keeps coming back to SR.S, never changes.
Honestly SR B/A looks cleaner than that.

Agreed, but the problem is that in the A and B configs, where T1 is a right hander, the pit exit is on the correct side, off the racing line. It’s only on C that it’s an issue.

Again, more evidence that very little thought and effort was put into this circuit. They were working with a complete blank slate, zero restrictions, and couldn’t come up with 3 layouts that had a proper T1.

They could very easily have had the C circuit use T1 of A, and then have C go hard left after T1 to connect up around T3.

Instead, they went for the most poorly designed T1/2 since the reconfig of Oscherslaben that also happens to have a redonculous pit exit. Anyone at PD who actually plays the game online should have had the forsite to know that a pit exit of that configuration would cause big issues.

They even have the FIA’s phone number and email, they could have got someone from the FIA to give it a quick look over. Hopefully someone from the FIA would have been able to point out, “for a circuit that has zero practical limitations to its design, this pit exit / T1 / T2 on C should not be configured like this.”

Fifth day, Acceptance. A new plan, no change in track, so change the car. NTSC racing, never the same car. A few hours ago I completed my quest to drive every single GR.3 car on St Croix. Here are the results sorted by finish position and door number. All from the back, never qualified.

Surprise surprise, the only win was in a Ford. Mind most of the other cars are from a sample size of one race with skewed results as some are from the (s)lower SR.S rooms and a couple from in the morning when half the room is D/S anyway. However the Beetle was by far the most awful to drive. It's rightfully last.

I think in doing this, you've also debunked the door number theory in that the number you're provided with is your expected finish position.

St. Croix killed my DR/SR. Started the week A/S and by last night I was C/D. So many people run up the inside and forces the penalty on me while pushing my car wide and or 1st corner bombers just blast through and wreck half the field. I had to run a bunch of Suzuka races just to get back to a B/B
This is where I decided against going to that St. Croix race last week. I used the Tsukuba races to fix my drivers rating and won at least one of theem.

Got my first pole in months (only 25/440 races), took wide 'n deep line into T1 to avoid inside dive bombers, made it 1/2 way round the turn then got hit by a Spanish exocet missile that hoofed me all the way across to the barriers.

Rejoined 16th!

Then lost 35 SR points trying to make up places..... :boggled:

It's going to be a long day trying to get those back...oh well, cest la vie

Just a question, what would u consider a decent lap time for Saint Croix in a non Ford GT

I was doing all day the Viper with excelent results - I noticed that in track pace is more important then speed as everyone commits some mistake on that long track.
In class B I was most of the time on top 5 with a 3.30 which I did not try to improve.
With the Viper under 3.30 is totally possibly, just not sure how far, 3.27-28 maybe?

I did a 3:26.849 in the Toyota FT1 with some time left on the table. Now that car ain't the fastest in a straight line or out of slow corners. I would suspect most cars can operate within the 3:25-3:26 range with the slowest GR3 cars hitting 3:27's

Wow that is very fast I would say. I did some more laps yesterday and I couldn’t break into the ’27s in the 458. Maybe wrong line idk, I should have watched some Top10 replays, damn. So the Ford actually isn’t that brutally overpowered like ithought, it’s just me driving like an old fart:D

I went through the 5 stages of grief this week on St. Croix.

First day denial, jump on the new track as if it was the only chance to drive it that day.

Second day, anger. I was racing by the rules, however not giving up space or avoiding bumpers, let them come, enjoy your penalty. However the game doesn't give a 🤬 about racing rules and it only took two races to get down to SR.B. Then it took 5 painful races to get back to SR.A.

So back to avoiding at all cost, let the divers dive someone else, wave the punters through, drive by rear view mirror more than look at where you're going, and drive by radar through busy corners.

Third day, Bargaining. There's the thread here about the weekly races I participated in and I briefly contemplated signing up to Twitter to tweet along, yet then I remembered I have no cell phone and it's not worth the hassle creating a fake rerouting number. So I suggested in game to all drive the course in reverse in protest, or have a race of the slowest, without getting DQ, wins, let's stretch this race to an hour and mess with the servers! No takers

Fourth day, Depression. I only did 3 or 4 races and watched Alien Covenant and Extinction instead.

Fifth day, Acceptance. A new plan, no change in track, so change the car. NTSC racing, never the same car. A few hours ago I completed my quest to drive every single GR.3 car on St Croix. Here are the results sorted by finish position and door number. All from the back, never qualified.

It was not an easy task with rooms sometimes looking like this

Fun working your way up through that... and that's from this evening. Racing did not get cleaner over time, rather the opposite. So much bumping. It seems it takes longer each night for the races to clean up. Before the penalty changes it was usually already better after 8pm. The last couple days you better not join in until 11pm or after midnight.

I managed to avoid most penalties yet now and then the bumping was so thick a red S was unavoidable. And what to do when both cars decide to brake early in front of you, thread the needle!

In the end this weekly race thing became a fun experiment, however it can be changed back now. I can confirm that the races are actually changing. Next up in 30 minutes, GR.4 NGP bleh.

Final stats for St.Croix. 69 races completed, 344 laps, 1 win, 10 top 5 finishes. Avg start position 17.7, avg finish position 8.7. Avg 9 positions gained per race.

Daily A changed over as well now, it's the N400 BMW M4 Coupe for Big Willow 5 laps, tuning allowed. Scratch that, settings are greyed out. Odd, it says settings open, BOP none.

Hi Sven,

with your 'final stats', where did you got those numbers from?

Oh yeah, the ford is definitely punching above the grade its in. It can corner almost as well as the ft1, yet accelerates faster and has a higher top speed. It needs reigning in.

Here is my FT1 run if your interested.

Thank you, i‘ll Check it out as soon as I get home from work and investigate what I obviously have done wrong

If I was that GTR driver, I would have held the right hand lane in the braking zone, even lifting off the throttle approaching the BZ to ensure that the BMW was on my left side under braking. Then, mid corner through exit, Hamilton the BMW off the circuit by just gently escorting them wide.

Rule number 1 in punting someone off. If you’re going to do it, make sure you do a complete job of it. If you do it, you damn well better make sure that the person you punted won’t simply catch you up after another 3 corners...people have memories, and they will return the favour. The GTR driver missed their golden opportunity to return serve to the dirty BMW driver.
Damn, your posts keep making me speechless. I don't know what to say honestly

Not used the Ford GT yet but I reckon this will give it a run for its money at Interlagos.. 30's are possible with the VW as I only did 15 minutes.

Stellar time mate considering new tire model. Do you happen to know why sometimes a replay is unavailable for viewing? Not saying yours is, but i've seen this phenomenon a lot. Is it that people run their qualifying offline and only then connect to the internet? What's up with that.

I might be wrong here, but in your hot lap, it looks like you left a tenth or two on the table exiting T3. You understeered and kind of missed the apex, which comprimised your exit. Otherwise, nice lap
Yes i think i lost a little bit of time there luckily its a short run to the next corner. Optimal was 1:24.9 so there was still some time to be gained with a perfect lap.

Cheers, as I say bit more time in that lap to be honest. In terms of replays not saving sometimes it's just a genuine error on upload I think, either PD's side or user side not 100% sure but some are that. Ones that constantly avoid it? I actually have no idea, and I actually don't understand it to be honest with you unless you're trying to hide something and if you're doing that then it's probably not a legitimate lap so I'd question it. Is there anyone actually doing it constantly that you've seen, I've not been paying any particularly notice if someone is constantly doing it?
