You're twisting my argument. I said people who latch onto the notion of having plateaued whilst being considerably off pace is sign of laziness. Like i said, i'm a firm believer that any average guy can succeed in this game. With enough practice and determination.
And like I said ( which you didnt bother to reply to , wonder why? ) Because people dont have the time ( which you yourself said is needed) to practise to eek out those top 10 times doesnt make them lazy. So yeah you can plateau at a certain time area.

Tried the Megane FF for the Daily Race C at Nurburgring GP, thought it might work for overtaking, but it struggles too much through the corners to really compete. Also makes you a bit of target for people as they can't figure out how to get past

Suppose I will just have to accept it and go 4wd or Megane Trophy

It was a good little car at suzuka last few days. Only in the s curves was it terrible and the trophys were pounding the rear...but then you can accelerate away from them. Im going to give it a whirl when i get home.

Took your word on VW, turned out to be pretty nice to drive. It packs some crazy punch in those middle gears.:D
Got 33.7 after few laps, decided to try my luck in race.
Started 3rd, finished 2nd. Aimed at 1st but struggled a bit to keep it steady at merguhlo for 2 laps.
Amazingly, a clean race, p2 tried to push me off in L2, but his penalty ghosted him rofl:lol:

Great effort :D! Make sure you are short shifting to :)! Change gear about 3/4 up the bar and you'll be hitting peak performance :D!

Hello all, back seeking advice for Race A. Got myself a 1:27.914.

Is this good for being midfield or in top 5 at all and if not roughly what time should I aim for and what BB, I've tried a couple
of settings but the back end seems to like to step out in T1 and the oval corner so some advice would be useful.

Really liking the Ford GT around Interlagos though and hoping I can get a 1:33 after work.

Nurburgring proving a struggle with only a 2:09 on the board, so going to have to try the Evo on this track I think as the Megane Trophy
just isn't giving me a good lap time.
1:26s should get you a top 5 starting spot in race A, if you're SR A or lower. S level; no. I just did a C race and saw very few Meganes. Top 2 were Ferrari and Cayman.

Really surprised by the races. Maybe it's the ToD. Very relaxing. I've had no stress from being attacked by cars behind. Also, only one T1 bump and it was minor.

My last race for the night, had a good 4 lap scrap for 6th, with a Josh muggo in a yellow Mustang.
I jumped a couple of cars in the pit stop. Getting my rhythm back, the Mustang was forming an attack with quicker pace. Using that awd grip out of corners saved me. Still, I know the Mustang, excellent turn in and grunt. I could see he was using that. So, I had to slow in, square the corner and use the frint to pull me out the exit.
He did catch and pass, but I did the switchback. No bumping each other.

He probably pitted earlier, as I then pulled away corner by corner. Good stuff.

Because one argument has nothing to do with the other. I'm talking about potential, you are talking about realization. In any case, if one is capable to allocate couple of hours every day and practice in a meaningful way, there will be progress. The reason people don't realize their potential is simply because they don't care or are lazy. And no wonder, its hard work to get really good at something; just like with everything else in life.

Troll harder.

Twice in two races, my first in about a month, I’m taken out early! First one I made a clean pass on lap 2 at Interlagos and the guy rear ended me for it. Finished 15th.

Second race I’ve got inside line coming out of senna esses with half a cars length overlap and the driver to my right just drives me off track, completely oblivious I was there i think. Finished that one 16th.

Give me a break! :banghead:

The Ford GT is a handful at Interlagos. You definitely have to know what you’re doing or it will step out on you in a heartbeat.
Seen so many people driving it tonight because it’s the car, but quite obviously can’t control it! Quite amusing

Well it's the car until tomorrow when they nerf it

I've given up on driving the meta cars, so am going to try different cars each day. Scooby seems decent on the Nurburgring. I would have caught the no stopper megane if it wasn't for the overfill at the pit (and a slight nudge in the back at the chicane)

NGP is pretty rough, today. I got my ass handed to me. Not really a fun track. I'll be doing a bunch of A and B races this week.

Then perhaps your original post...

Was a misguided attempt at motivation?
Misguided in what sense exactly? You are free to point out the flaw in my conjecture. So far i haven't seen a reasonable counter argument on why in theory an average gamer in GTS can't one day reach the top in said game.

I have already asked you to define sucess or “the top in said game”.

I would agree with you if you wrote it “In theory an average gamer in GTS can’t one day maximise their potential, through hard work and dedication”

Using your past definition of top and sucess

In the realm of this game (or any other game) pretty much anyone can become a top 10 player.

Is where your flaw in your conjecture appears, there are many other variables that will affect becoming a top ten player and unrealistic to only attribute to not being lazy.

Natural ability, in both the physical and mental aspects of driving a sim. Some people have more natural ability than others. Some people have so much natural ability, that when combined with hard work, practice, and discipline, it becomes literally impossible for people without the natural ability to match the performance, no matter how much they train, practice, and study.

It doesn't exist. It simply doesn't.

Austisticboyx could've certainly worded it better, but I understand what he's trying to say. Anyone can reach top 10 if they work hard enough.

Race A... What a disaster. Whos brilliant idea was it for this combo?

Oh well, I guess I have a week to figure it out.

Yipee.

Why we could do with daily racing back

Race A is the only one of these 3 I find any fun

I’m bored of Brazil and the ring is always a crash fest at my dr standard. The rolling start there as well seems to group the cars far too close together

Try -4
T1: Brake between the 150 and 100, closer to the 100.
Oval corner: All you need to do is tap the brake slightly, downshift to 3rd while turning in. Then, keep a gentle amount of throttle until you finally exit.
Next corner: Brake just before the 50.
Last corner: Brake lightly at the 200.

Why don't you all just pm each other about that topic, stick to the thread

Daily A needs penalties back. I get bumped off in T1, no penalty issued. A drafty nose stuck on the inside off track to bump me wide and create an opening, no penalty issued. I see cars getting bumped off all over the track, no penalties. It will only get worse as people get used to the lax penalty system.

The daily A was already a bump fest before due to the slower cars, sports tires and limited time. This one is really short, 7.5 minute race at most. There's more time in between races than actually racing.

I'll try 2 more, then maintenance. Interlagos tomorrow.

The race I had prior to this one was not great, I got bumped off on turn 1 on the start, both our faults but still ruined it for me, but was nice to see you and get revenge at the same time
