12 laps on Interlagos in GR.1? Awaiting new threads, I dropped from SR.S to SR.E in one race.
Every time I see Nurb I hope to see 24h instead of GP. It's like always getting Suzuka east instead of the whole course.
Big Willow could be fun.

Yep definatley need more Nordschleif races. GP is a very, very boring circuit. Wont even entertain Gr1 at Interlagos and the only track more boring than Nurb GP is Willow Springs, and in a boring FWD rep' mobile too!

Wow, GR.1 on interlagos again. The last races were very clean and i loved it to race that. Unfortunately i have many work today and can do only a few races :(

DR almost A SR C. Quit 2 races, DR C SR D. Quit again and now i am DR D SR E.

I understood today quiting is bad for SR DR but how come i got demoted to DR C low from being almost A by quiting 2 races?
An SR drop by more than one level results in your DR being "reset". Mine dropped to 7000 DR last weekend during the Interlagos Gr. 4 race where my SR dropped to 3 :banghead:.

Had a very productive Saturday in the TTS on Brands Indy, started the day at 20500 DR and ended with 24800! Very clean racing barring the odd jerk trying to drive too fast in corners with lots of traffic. Went from 63 to 99 SR as well. Unfortunately, against my better judgement, I decide to enter the Gr. 4 Scirocco race yesterday and was bumped through every corner of the first lap, beginning of the second lap was intentionally rammed from the side (this prick got a load of stick from everyone after the race) causing me to spin out, so I just cruised through the rest of the race to finish last. DR down 1200 (still happy to be at 23600) and SR down to A. Every single racer got red SR.

funny enough i was the opposite.. tanked my DR and SR in the gr1 at seaside the other day. also entered a race and forgot about it, went downstairs then came up to the message 'youve been disqualified for incurring too many penalties' :banghead:

scirocco race was another story though! won 2 races in a row, pretty much every race I had was clean. boosted my SR and gained about 4000 DR which recovered my weekend.

Yeah I avoided both the Gr. 1 races over the weekend

Friday I did the TTS at Interlagos which was very clean and fair and the Manufacturers race at Kyoto - the FIA races are excellent for building up SR as the ten minutes of qualifying counts. Started 8th and finished 5th so got a nice wedge from that.

Congrats on the Scirocco races mate 👍

I can't make an accurate judgment from just one day but it seems SRS is actually dirtier than B or A, or it could just be because it was Sunday (which is bad every week). I guess in B and A, the drivers are working to try and increase their ranking, whereas in S most know they have leeway to have a few bumps but remain in S.

I really enjoyed the TTS on Saturday, I think because Brands Indy is a short circuit you get a chance to absolutely perfect all of the 6 turns...

FF cars bring out the worst racers imo. I had a few races last night. The chat was lit up with 3 or 4 people mentioning 1 particular guy. This chap started behind me, "made" room to get me on the first hairpin then drove like an idiot weaving and defending. I took a race off to improve qually. Jumped back in and there he was, chat still complaining about him. He was calling everybody noobs and then started the next race exactly the same. Made room for himself, bumped barged blocked and pretty much ruined 4-5 players races.

The guy was DR:A SR:S. He should never, ever be that high with the behaviour shown on track.

I said to the missus... I wasn't going to do a race tonight, given how I spent so long building my DR and SR up on Saturday I didn't want to lose it as I wasn't completely happy with the race selection. I should have kept my better judgement and just avoided it

"Working as intended"

Imo,blame the game not the player.

I'm really having trouble controlling traction when driving the Gr3 cars, especially my fav Hyundai Genesis. Is it just me or have they changed tire slip physics or something? I'm all over the place @ TC 0.

Personally I always use TCS 2 on RWD cars.

Yes I WILL blame the player. The guy was a tool and his behaviour is not the games fault (correct?). Yes the game needs to address this, but the human is at fault first and foremost.

If any action was taken against him, he'd be here crying about how he paid for the game and how hard done to he is.

The game is not perfect. The players are far less perfect.

Honestly, I'm new to GT Sport an online racing so I don't have a wealth of experience to complain that the DR / SR system is broken but it has put me off playing.

After racing the other night on Willow I managed to get my ratings up from D/E to C/B in one evening including some top 3 finishes and a start at pole.

Returning last night to the GR.4 race I sat down ready for a few hours of clean racing and with the attitude that I did not care about winning.. The priority was to race clean and just either improve on my position and maintain it. I started off each race between 6-10 usually.

After a couple of hours of racing my rating was down to D/E. You have to make a decision as to whether to race clean and end up in position 15 or be more aggressive and lose your SR but have a better result. Honestly, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to build up SR/DR when in one evening people can ruin it for you. The only way to really maintain your SR is to get away from everyone at the first corner and be quicker than them for me which is only possible against D/E players... Sucks :(

Just avoid certain races and certain days. I did one race on Maggiore yesterday in B/S and every player got a red SR at the end - to me that says don't do it again.

It does feel at one point that you have to chose either SR or DR, but be selective about your races and try and be clean.. both will come at one time.

That was the race that I continued to play! I should have quit like you said :)

I decided a couple of weeks ago to be much more picky and it has paid dividends, I was a mid C DR and am now near the top of B. I do at least 10-15 laps of qualifying before even considering a race entry... if I can't quite "get" the track or car then I won't enter the race. For example, yesterday I was qualifying the TT on Dragon Trail and couldn't get the chicane right, or the corner after it, so I didn't enter. Saved SR and DR :)

Conversely, Saturday I got the TT at Brands Indy absolutely right so entered the race over and over and over!

I think that's the way forward.. I should check the time for pole and get close to it before entering so I can start at least in the top 3 / 4 (especially for the easy D/E races)...

Try to get within 2 or 3 seconds of the top 10. Also, do some qualifying laps until you are comfortable with the track.... then watch the replay of one of the top guys and pay close attention to braking and turning points etc then do some more qualifying laps, using what you saw... no doubt you will get an extra 1 or 2 seconds. Its' important to get a feel for the track first though imo.

Imporving DR/SR is not that hard. Everyone starts with E/B and everyone have the chance to climb up. The biggest piece from this "every ones rams, sr/dr is crap" cake comes from drivers they have to improve their driving quality drastically. I know, it is hard down there where all the beginners drive. But if you follow a simple strategy, you can earn many points very fast and climb up to the highest Level in SR and in a high level in DR. Just do the following:

- Watch how the top tens do their fastest lap. You can learn many from this to see where they break and where they steer, which line they drive.

- do qualifying. And not only 5 rounds. As a beginner, you don't know the track, it's limits and the break points. Example: Track x, top ten set a time of 1.22.0 Drive this track over and over to come nearly to the top ten as possible. Lets assume you got a best track time of 1.27.3. Do the qualifying again until you reach in every round 1.27.8 or 1.28. If you can do this for 10 laps, then you know you can drive stable. This is the perfect preperation for the race. Don't lough, i do this too for every race, even in S/S. If i cant handle many rounds with nearly the same time, the race gets bad.

- If you don't like a track, don't drive it. If you don't like all the tracks or cars or group of a day, don't drive it. Do some practice, finish the driving school with 100% gold, do the track experience with 100% gold.

- In the race: If you lost a place, you lost a place. Don't rage or revenge this in bad actions against others, the same when you get bumped. There are always races where this happens, as a said, even in the highest rankings. Use the radar, watch your opponents, leave room for eveyone and overtake only if it is safe.

- Tip: As is said above, do a huge qualifying. The better the times, the better your start place. It is less trouble to start in top 5 as in midfield. And if you start with E/B, and you do a perfect qualifying and learn the track, you can improve SR from E to S within one day.

GT Sport is not a game like "Oh it's Sunday, lets race some rounds...". It is hard work, because it is a sport...

Great comment @Blacki2k2.

I changed to this ethos a few weeks ago. Before, I used to do a few qualifying laps then jump into a race as soon as I knew the layout of the circuit. I was always around 5000-11000 DR, then from 3 weeks ago (when I started reading this site) I have gone from there to 25000 DR. It is really a case of taking it more seriously.

Congratulations btw, I recall seeing you in the top 10 on one of the races over the weekend I think?

Unfortunately not :( I did Saturday the GR.1 on Dragon Trail, very cool races with two wins from third.. But didn't get a top then time so far. But i'm working on it :D Yesterday i skipped the races, was noting for me. I have redone the complete driving school with all lessons in gold. I had them already, done just for fun to create videos from it for my channel. Started with the track experience in gold again for yt too. But today with GR.1 on Interlagos i will do some races... i hope. To much work in my office right now :(

Are you German?

Haha, yes. Is my english so bad?:lol:
No, not to do with your English which is very good ..

No, I wanted to ask because on the top 10 (it must have been Gr. 1 Dragon Trail) I recognised your PSN from your username here and noted that you were German (which I didn't know before as you don't have a flag by your name). It may have only been in top 10 for a short period, but you were definitely there.

I'm wondering if the M6 (or 911) dominates the Nürburgring Top10 again!?
As I'm the quickest with the Lexus (to my surprise, I owned everyone and everything in last weeks FIA race), I'm curious if I could keep up again this evening :O

The Lexus just seem to be the ultimate underdog at the Nürburgring GP :sly:

I'm sure it will be the 911 tonight. I would usually use that but may try the RCF though given your experience with it...
