Any idea why i am being matched so harshly? My SR was 99 and I am a mid to low B for DR and being matched with a WALl of S, A+ and A drivers. It was brutal, I had absolutely NO PACE compared to the rest of the field, 4 seconds a lap os the delta in qualifying time. In my last race my SR dropped to 97, will this help restore some balance?

Totally normal. You're playing with the big boys now. DR doesn't do much in terms of matchmaking. Most lobbies go all the way down to D/S from A+/S. Because of this, there is still DR to be obtained. If you finish ahead of all other B/C/D drivers you're probably earning more DR than the A+ guys are.

But yeah, if the time of day you're playing on is "prime time" it's very difficult to stay in the Top 5.

To be clear, i';m the ONLY B driver other than a couple who fail to qualify and are way faster than me. In one race there were 18 starters, 10 wew S or A+, 6 were A and one other B who failed to qualify but was clearly a fast B, i'm a low to mid B.

I got absolutely annihilated, i just cannot do 47's in qualifying let alone in race on shot tyres like the rest of the field!

How does it do climbing the hills? That’s where the RCZ seems to struggle a little, it’s great around and coming out of the corners but can’t keep up in the hill climbing.
It seems to be good all around. Went from a 1st and 3rd Monday to a 10th and 12 Tuesday going to try something different tonight.

How many of you guys are DS4 users compared to wheel users?? I spent a fair amount of time on race A just qualifying and trying to put in a good lap the last 2 days. I was down to 1:31.9 with my wheel and started watching some of the fast replays. 1 of the top times is on a DS4 and I studied his lap pretty hard, he is able to do things that I cant on my wheel. So I try my DS4 and after 5 laps Im already 5/10ths faster and the car is easier to drive. The real kicker is that I am not saying I am good with my wheel but I know I suck with the DS4. The only video games i play are racing games and the only one I have played in the last 4 years has been GTS when I got it last Christmas. Have any of you wheel users noticed this?
I'm no good with the pad, too hard to change gears. I'm still using a dfgt wheel with a Brook converter and often wonder if the wheel is slowing me down.

A+ DR increases are very painful.

I’m using a DFGT as well with a DriveHub and it seems to work pretty well so far, I may get a G29 at some point though, probably once the DFGT breaks.

Does it seem that you have to turn the wheel a little deeper than in gt6? That is kind of my thinking but it depends on the track and the car.

I’m not sure, sometimes maybe. But it could be the differences between cars too. I find a 90* turn of the wheel gets the “Dot” that indicates steering all the way to the left or right but I can still turn farther than that, it just doesn’t show the input on screen as it’s already saying I’ve hit the lock. I’ll play with it more tonight and report back. :)

Just ran some B races in the TT after i ran the 4C yesterday. Got a couple second places and a 5th after i got pushed out of the way.

Improved my qualy time to 2:26.503

For reference;
4C best lap 2.26.9 optimal 2:26.3
TT best lap 2:26.5 optimal 2:26.2

@ThePhantomAli Just got around to watching you latest highlights video and those glitches were something else. Also some awful driving standards by some of the people you were unlucky enough to share the track with. Also turn off those damn cones. :sly:

Did you send the driver who didn't bother to pit until too late your thanks for the win? :p What a strange decision that was and from that other guy in a previous race who ran out of fuel due to not pitting.

I can’t turn off the cones I’m scared! I do know the braking points but they are reassuring and I’ll probably keep them on until one in track ruins my race

I did message him in the post race but he left before I could send and I couldn’t be bothered to type it again.

Meanwhile at Catalunya, SR down to 65 last night which I’ll remain adamant that it was the fault of others. To avoid all the little taps I’d no longer be challenging for wins, as I would just back out every time someone was behind me. I can’t help it if someone tries to force me off my line.

So I’ve logged on tonight feeling fresh, straight in there with a win, I think I started P6? Was P3 before too long due to dirty drivers taking each other out. P2 was lagging all over so didn’t risk anything until he was in front of me then all of a sudden he was beside me

Anyway I’ll take that pass, was gifted the win again in a same-scenario as the previously mentioned race @ASH32. P1 stayed out longer than he should even at 5 seconds ahead, by the time he pit he was 6 seconds behind and battling for 2nd with the lagger. Well chuffed with the win.

Nice work, that’s a quick time. What did it net you for starts in those races?

This is the actual leaderboard for your region (canada right ?)

Yes Sir, I was just curious where the times started you in a race, i haven’t done a race since going sub 2:28 so I was curious where it might start me now in a mainly A room. I just got it to 2:27.636 and gained almost 4 tenths on that time through the first half of the next lap only to lose it back in the second half. The time is definitely there for the taking though. :)

Just did race C three times and got deliberately taken out 5 or 6 times. What is with people?

I’m tired of getting knocked back 8 places by someone bullying their way up the grid.

The worst part is not being able to see any of the hits coming. Unfortunately, they always come at turns where I can’t afford to look away.

Any one have strategies for dealing with this?

Just did my first race of the night, had a good battle with the guy in 2nd, he started with the pole, then bobbled after the first sweeping corner on lap two and I passed him before the hill. I got up to just over 2 seconds on him, then I messed up the second last corner and clipped the wall a bit on the right and he was right on my butt for the last lap but was not able to get his nose past my bumper, it was a super fun race. Win #25 :)

You’re picking up wins very fast
Good work

Thanks, I’m shocked really. I’ve played every GT since the first one, but like every other game, I expected to get whooped when I went online a couple weeks ago. I honestly didn’t expect to fair nearly this well against live competition, it’s been a present surprise to say the least. :)

Just did Race A and picked up 20 seconds of wall penalties and still placed 6th...

Had I been drinking from the toilet, I may have been killed. :D

With the absence of a few aliens, I managed my first win on Race B tonight! Just drove off into the distance though so not very rewarding.

I watched the replay to see what happened behind me and oh my word. The driving :nervous: The attempts at overtakes in stupid places and outright puntfestery was woeful. I may just edit some of the carnage and pop a video of it up.

Someone should do up two cars with stickers to look like a football and a cleat. :)

Edit: Well, I ended the night with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes in some good rooms. The 2nd place I was kinda proud of, I hung in there with a good driver in that one right to the end, he only beat me by 1.5s overall. It was definitely a good night. :)

I don't understand all the complaining about track limits. Everyone has to follow the same rules/limits and it's up to you to find out where they are. Should the track limits be different? Sure, of course they should. But refrain from racing because of some chicane-cutting that you are also perfectly capable of doing yourself? Seems like a silly reason not to play a very fun game we all enjoy. Just cut the chicane yourself and get a good qualy time, or don't, who cares, but don't let it ruin your experience.
I had a similar argument a while back with some people that were complaining about others that were using driving aids (real race cars don't have the automatic steering correction, blah, blah, blah....). I had to remind them that real racers will look for and use any edge they can get. Lots of real race cars fail pre and post-race inspections.

And by the way, this isn't real racing anyways.

Losing 1000 points per race because I am being matched against a+ drivers when I am a slow b. It's ridiculous.

Dude, this is impossible. As a DR B you lose next to nothing by finishing behind DR A+'s. Literally like 5 points per player, maybe less.

If you're losing 1K per race that means you're finishing behind multiple people with a DR much worse than yours. So mostly C and D, B players.

Either you're crashing out / losing lots of positions, or, you're the unluckiest person in the world and are getting matched with Aliens who made new accounts and are faster than you while having a lower DR.
