Losing 1000 points per race because I am being matched against a+ drivers when I am a slow b. It's ridiculous.

I'm the same.

Although I've been cocky and stubborn a few weeks thinking I could race against the same level on any track. It varies greatly for me. If I'm honest I'm probably only a B on a few and C/D others. And I can't expect the matchmaking to know that.

Obviously there was a lot of controversy surrounding Catalunya's track limits this week, limits that have hopefully been fixed by today's patch. I didn't race this week and experience it first hand, but wanted to weigh in, as I hear a lot of people say "they're cheating!" whenever a player abuses track limits. But who's really to blame? The players for being ruthless in their quest for victory, or the game for allowing it to happen?

The reality is that Sport Mode fosters an ultra competitive environment, and whilst foregoing integrity to win a daily race is questionable, I can't blame the players for wanting to win, because I know that if this was an official season FIA race and such an exploit was available, I would be abusing that exploit too. Ultimately, it's the developers responsibility to ensure that no player can gain an unfair advantage through questionable means, so if players are legally "cheating", it should be on PD's heads.

Here's hoping we have less issues moving forward now that the much needed 'bug fixes only' update has been dropped.

Sorry a little off topics but I have been racing a few B races this afternoon. One person that rammed me off the corner (I was his helpful breaking "power"... ) and then we were side by side last lap on the long left-hander and I had an open clear inside line non of us touched but all of a sudden I saw in the mirror that he ran off the track which I didn't understand why? Didn't feel anything in my car. At the end of the race he gave me all kind of ****** comments. May I ask how can you reply on the chatting board from your own keyboard? I have been wondering about this for a long time now. We don't need to discuss this here as I don't know if this fit's here. Please feel free to send to my inbox if you have time in your busy racing. Thanks a lot! :)

And by the way, this isn't real racing anyways.

Yes it is!!!!! And every time I loose SR, and angel looses it's wings ;).

You have obviously picked a time when there just arn't enough people of your class entering races. My last race had a lot of DR/Bs, and I'm DR/D. Even though I finished lower than in the top half, I still gained a few points because the higher ranked players are worth more points to me if they screw up and come off track or get knocked off, and I finish ahead of them. It's worse for the DR/A or A+ that occasionaly shows up on an all DR/D or DR/D-C grid. They *must* win just to not loose points. No matter how fast they are, at the beginning of the race there is always the chance that P2 will ram them at T1 before their superior driving has had a chance to come into effect.

New lessons learned today. If they bump you in the rear and you loses 3-4 places (happened to me four times today) It is fully okay now with the new system. All involved get Blue Sr. It's very hard to race like that as it doesn't fit to my driving style. Can't just bump somebody in the rear purposely.. Can't do it.

Can't believe I'm going to type this.... I'm getting bored of the current Gr.4 cars. Hoping some TCR or updated/real GT4 cars, get added to their respective manufacturers. I mean, 27 Gr.4 is nothing to sneeze at. The real GT4 class, have a few less than that number.

Well it appears PD patched the game and fixed the start bug, however I just got the old disconnected during matching glitch and got dumped back to the race entry screen, so I guess we still have to remember to restart the game after every second race as usual.

Daily races need the penalty zones. Just came 2nd from the back on my GTP account and would have won easily if it were not for one guy already with penalties spinning me around in the middle of the race. Oh well at least someone got a nice win they deserved.

Also the chicane avoiding is still possible it seems unless you get a penalty now but I doubt it. The only guy that tried it when I had a quick normal race crashed in there when they were near me until returning to it later in the race.

I also noticed the old glitch of showing some cars as last (16th in this case) when they were a good few places ahead of that.

I was gonna wait until 100 races to post this but 97 is close enough I guess, 25% Win rate and a 75% top 5 rate, definitely a good start. :)

So what’s the deal with A+? KudosPrime doesn’t even show it, but the GTS app does? KP says A is 30,000 to 49,999 and S is 50,000 to 75,000, so where does A+ fit into that? I don’t understand, is A+ and S the same thing?

Congrats Pigems - you'll get there with this progress!! Cheers

A+ is currently 50000 to 75000 however used to be called S, hence I assume the KudosPrime website never updated some of the text. (Some of it correctly says A+ but some still says S)

S is for 'Star Player' which is an almost pointless title gained through FIA Championships with example criteria being 'finish in the Top 10 of your Manufactuerer' for example. S is not on the E to A+ rating. And S isn't better than A+

I remember the good ol' days where I used to get wins :)
The I ran into the brick wall of A+ drivers :(

I am S rank because I finished top 10 for Peugeot last FIA season, but I have 39000 points so am only an A in reality.

The text you are seeing about the S rank is probably out of date. S used to be the top rank, but they changed it to A+ so they could re-introduce S as special rank for the FIA races.

Sorry, I meant in the explanation of points when you click on the question mark under the DR graph, it shows the point values for each letter and A is 30,000 to 49,999 and S is 50,000 to 75,000, but it doesn’t show A+?[/QUOTE]
Yea so A+ is the 50k to 75k range, guessing the description has never been updated.

Edit, T’ reed.

Hello ! I'm new here, how can I find the same stats for my profile ? Thanks !

Thank you very much! Im already starting to get comfy in the A rooms after tonight, The game is just starting to get fun now. :)

What you'll find is, that as you race players close to your pace, you won't have to second guess braking points for the other drivers, and ridiculous defending and overtaking moves should be less.

The only problem with this, is because everybody is closer in terms of lap time and consistency, that overtaking becomes much more of an art form. People won't be as easy to pick off. Sometimes you'll just have to follow and wait for an opening, that sometimes never comes.

Great progress. Onwards and upwards :gtpflag:

Your lap time in Race B is rather godly I must say LOL

Couldnt have said this better. This is so true. Thats also why i like longer races. You can really take the time to battle or wait for a opening to set up a pass. These short races can be over before you get a realistic opportunity to do anything.

Bingo 👍
For example 3 laps at B daily race :boggled: commoooooon , make it at least double .

Thanks mate. @Shottah072 has 2 tenths on me as of yesterday. He's a prick  (joke... British humour/banter)
Stop being a 🤬 will ya, just go faster

Exactly, 6 laps would have been much better around there.

Yeah agree, that and my SR is 99 so i suspect the game is looking for 99's first then classifying us and i am by far the slowest. My qualy time at Catalunya is a 49 flat, not great but two nights ago had glorious battles in a B and C room, then my SR went to 90+ and suddenly I am surrounded by a bunch of guys qualifying with 46's and 45's :nervous::nervous:

So the thing is, I can't get my SR down 'cos I have no one to race with as they clear off into the distance

Catalunya highlights (so far), last video for a few weeks as I’m on holiday Saturday then immediately back to work for two weeks. Enjoy!

Just did race C three times and got deliberately taken out 5 or 6 times. What is with people?

I’m tired of getting knocked back 8 places by someone bullying their way up the grid.

The worst part is not being able to see any of the hits coming. Unfortunately, they always come at turns where I can’t afford to look away.

Any one have strategies for dealing with this?
Are you using bumper cam ? Imo a mirror is crucial, with it you can actually see them coming most of the time. You dont have to actively look in the mirror just scan for movement in your peripheral vision.

About dealing with them, i go super defensive on them. Defend the inside as soon as they get in divebomb range, never let them get on your inside, if they do just try to cut back, but whatever you do dont position yourself on the outside of them in a corner, its to much of a risk. This is gonna cost you some time but the strategy is to keep them behind long enough (hopefully just a few corners) untill they mess up or you get just out of striking range, then you go full timetrial mode to drive away from them if you can, if you cant and they catch up you repeat or decide maybe its better to let them go, depending on the situation of the race.

Here's a nice example of a driver i raced yesterday, wont mention his name but this clip from his view shows how i try to defend from him.

It starts when he punts me on corner entry coming from way back. This immediately made me lose all trust in him, notice how i immediately go onto a defensive line in the hairpin, i wouldn't do that with such a gap with a driver i trust. That incident on s/f showed i was right not to trust him as he almost kills us both in a desperate attempt to get on my inside. I continue to defend the inside with succes untill the last lap. Notice how i go a little wide on entry and this leaves just a little space on the inside ? He immediately drives into that space and now i i am vulnerable on the outside and lucky to not crash into the wall. He won that race, and though you could argue that that sucks cause he was not the cleanest driver i should have never left him that space.

Thanks for the advice. Great job on that race. It looks like I just need to start using bumper cam and defending my position better. I have been taking standard race lines and leaving too much room for other drivers to make moves.

Great race report, thanks for sharing. It looks like we’ve had similar experiences with all kinds of punts, contact, and little mistakes. Glad to know I’m not the only one.
