To me it's not slow Pigems! I can't really manage this track very good. I will give it an hour or so of practising tomorrow. If I ever reach your time I'm going to town and get me a BIG beer! :) Cheers guy's.
The more you practice it the more you will fit it, the better you’ll understand where it is you need to improve. Skills learnt in practice aren’t forgotten although gains become smaller and smaller. Having the mentality to search when gains are meaningless makes all the difference to race pace.

I had a good night, my SR dropped to A which i am much more comfortable with and gained 2,000 DR points with a few podiums. Surprisingly found a full 1.3 seconds around race B, with a best of 1.41.2 and several sub 1.41.5's. The Mustang is slowish through the chicane but I am turning good times with it, with the brake balance on 2 it get JUSt loose enough to turn in nicely without losing traction when i gas it.

Thanks a lot mate - really appreciated and uplifting for my own mental efforts and training/practising tomorrow. Being 67 f.🤬 years old it's a great push and support to continue focus and try, try, try, try.... Cheers and thanks again racer!

Sorry Arcflyer, I must have done the wrong thing as I went to PS4 and searched... Now I think I understand. I will check........ Found it thanks a mill! :)
study time tomorrow. Tonite I will write down and look at turn one timing exiting, section one time, time through the three long S's, section two time, time after the last S's. Cheers.
Small improvement - took .3 seconds off - now down to 1:39.389 - replay in usual place !!

Any tips on getting below the 1:40s? Best I've done is a 1:40.5 in the 911
The first thing I’d say is watch the top 10 replays. Last time I checked there’s a 911 in the top 10 too. I know it’s hard to replicate that kind of driving, but there’s definitely stuff to be learned from those laps.

The second thing I’d say is something specific to Dragon Trail, which is don’t be afraid to use the curbs! If you use them you can usually find more speed, just try and be a little more careful than normal when you’re driving on them.

Third, what @rono_thomas said is a good idea, really get the car turned in, get on the power early and get good exits. Try messing around with the brake balance, I used +3 for the Supra and +5 for the 911 when I used it earlier in the week. It can help get the car to turn in a little better, although it does make the car a little harder to control.

And finally, just keep doing laps and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. I made tons of mistakes pushing as hard as I could before I got that lap. Keep pushing and you’ll be able to find time.

But I never use clutch. I only have a T150 dual pedal setup. No shifter, just the flappy paddles :)

Same here, I use a DFGT so no clutch there either. IRL I’ve always driven standard though so my left is trained for a clutch. It’s gonna take some work to train it for a brake, but nothing that can’t be done in time though. :)

I just came off my last race and it was really really fun and clean. Race b. Bs all bs. Great racing and restored my faith in humanity after suffering many assasination attempts in my previous tries this morning.
My first several races were hopeless. Everyone all over the track wiping out in the way...I don’t know, it was terrible. I was purposely rammed several times it seemed with player behind oblivious to the existence of the brake pedal. .Several players that I saw watched their sr s disappear this morning...
The last race made it all worth it though.
Clean and fun. That’s what makes this game great. Just good tight racing. I made one slight mistake and got overtaken and the guy in front of me made one and I overtook him. Finished with a drag race to the line...Good stuff.
After escaping death you get that good one. Overall I lost a few hundred dr the last couple days.
Don’t give up if you have a bad race.
That track is very dangerous in the reverse direction. No more for me.
I am going out of b on a good note! I’ll take clean sixth everyday in a well matched room!

Yes Dragon Trail is unlikely to produce a lot of clean racing, the reverse version even more so. I've done a ton of laps just to try to learn it and still I might be a danger in a race if I actually ran one and my best is a 1:38'7 so I'm not completely slow but there's no way I can run this pace and not crash somewhere and that's before I factor in the other drivers who may attempt to "create" a passing opportunity. Also even if I don't crash I'm finding so easy to lose big time, otherwise maybe a 1:38'4/5 would have been possible but I've had enough of this place and the Supra for now.

Really hoping for a good Race C next week and on a track with no shortcuts. :nervous:

So like 10s off the pace. I reckon itll be SR friendly way back there. :)

Heres to a decent race c nxt week.

Oops, fixed. That's why you don't do a few things at the same time, you press wrong numbers.

Wow the player pool is small today. My last couple races either had SR D in them, or the grid was like 10/20 players.

Anyway, this race C is a blast. All the porsche curves in wide open throttle is just blissful

K, so I've noticed every time I look at the top 10 replays the time is just about always logged on the first lap. And now I see this from you where you get that time on lap 1. Is there something to that? I always go round and round and put a 10+ lap session before I get a descent time.

Do you get a better start to the lap from the start or something? So instead of putting lap after lap it's better to just hit retry after putting a lap in?

Or are these people that good or am I that bad that they just jump in do one lap for qualifying and say "That'll do"

No just in the habit of restarting all the time, especially once you know where and how to be fast (at your limit anyway). Often it'll be crash or big mistake or a fast lap, certainly in my case.

Restarting before you know the track properly is bad if anything because you'll do the same bits over and over again and they'll be somewhere you have barely tackled that can lose you tons. This is especially the case at Dragon Trail II with the final chicane and yet I still restart often when I really shouldn't.

i think there are a lot of people who re-set after a lap. I think it also depends where auto drive lets go before the start/finish line. Some tracks the first lap is slower because you get a better run up to the line on the second lap. With Race B this time round you start so far back that it probably doesn't make much difference. I have the ghost on, some find it distracting, but I find it gives me something to chase. After a while though i find i hit a point of diminishing returns and my laps get worse instead of better. I don't have the time to spend half the night qualifying. At some point ya just have to get in there and race!

That lap was the first lap after a restart, so yeah there’s no lap time before it. It’s honsetly a bit of a bad habit to restart every time you make a mistake, because you aren’t driving the last few corners of the track as much, which means you don’t really get a great feel for them and you’re more likely to mess up those corners when you’re actually having a good lap. You’re doing the right thing by doing lots of consecutive laps, I guess I usually manage to get away with restarting all the time.

On some tracks you can get a better start to the lap if you’re focused only on getting a good exit and not taking the corner quickly (like DT Gardens or Streets of Willow), but DT Seaside isn’t really one of those tracks.

I’d be really surprised to see someone do a 37 on the first lap of their session, but I wouldn’t put it past a few guys out there.
