I see, personally I very rarely hit retry. I really like to use the split time to see where I'm gaining and losing speed. The ghost just isn't see through enough for me and tends to cause me to miss braking points and turn in points.

On a side note, it would be interesting to have instead of a ghost, say, a clone? Instead of you being able to just drive through it, it would be an actual car that obviously won't budge if you hit it. Could be good practice for racing with other drivers even though you might never be able to pass it.

I typically turn the ghost off and just go by the +/- ticker above the gauges(I use bumper cam) to find out if I’m ahead or behind my ghost, I find the ghost a little distracting. I also don’t hit reset too much for reasons stated above like not running the later parts of the track as much. :)

Dont use anything tape over the blue/red numbers and ignore all splits, although will have a cheeky look now and again, find that too many laps are psychologically hurt by what colour is shown blue or red.

Tried Race A again. This time went in with a different attitude.

Made extra careful to get through T1. Slowed down, double checked mirrors, got out the way, let anything close through.

Once settled I got to race with a Brazilian driver for a few laps. That was the most fun I've had all week.

In the end, DR points lost. 2nd consecutive clean race bonus. Who cares. It was worth it for those few laps.

Well, I managed to shave the time down a hair to 1:40.616(-.1) and then this happened...

It wasn’t the fastest room by any means, but I did finish with nearly a 4s lead and led since the end of the first sector on the first lap. I made it through the entire race with no major eff ups, it was both a moral and actual Victory. Thanks for all the help fellas! I’m finally starting to get this track, I think haha. :)

Oh, and a Special Thanks goes out to TCS 2, Couldn’t have done it without ya buddy! :D

This is one for the other thread “you know you’re playing GTS too much when:..” you tape over the blue/red arrows

But I get what you mean. This doesn’t bother me as much as the ghost though.

Nice job! I somehow managed a 1:40.720. My race pace is usually a couple of seconds slower, but this got me on pole x2 in DR: B and won both times today.

I guess Dragon Trail is my best circuit as I’ve had 5 of my 6 wins there

I quit daily races ages ago but got back into it with last week's GT3 race @ Barcelona because I still do FIA Manufacturer and this was good practice. Was having fun and gaining DR!

Tried to continue the trend with the GT3 race @ Dragon Tail this week but it was bad. I did 4 races and my SR went from 99 to B :boggled: Back into retirement I go

Hope PD gets their act together.

Great job! I wish I could say the same. I love the circuit but can’t make a clean first lap without a dive bomber honing in on me. Gets me every time. At least my first 4 races yesterday. I feel like I was just racing against an odd bunch that seemed reckless for no apparent reason except they enjoy it. I don’t know. I’ll try and try again. Most times it doesn’t get under my skin, but I was almost to dr C. All wiped out and back to D.

I may need to simply wait this week out or pick a better time of day/night that attracts mostly great drivers to be surrounded by like the people on this thread.

Won 4 races in daily race a with the rx7. Oversteer > understeer!
Three of those were races where I just took everybody’s lunch money, while the fourth one was pretty close. Not the cleanest of races, but I’ve been in more dirty escapades, so I won’t complain. I’d say it’s fair.
Gained about a thousand dr in A rank.

Race be is getting a bit unlucky this week.
On Monday I managed to do a 1.40.096 with the AMG that put me almost all the time in the first half of the grid with the aliens.
I didn't play for a couple of days and when I got back I couldn't manage to get the pace I had on Monday.
This brought me back on Dr B as I was too slow and making a lot of mistakes.
Yesterday I tried the Porsche and it went much better, I managed to do a 1.39.4 just before the end of the day.
Let's see where this time puts me on the grid today, I hope to get some Dr back and go back to A.

I find sneaking a look at the ghost after exiting corners is the least distracting option on the first lap. After that the blue/red number indicator is useful, though I'm trying hard to not read the numbers! I just use it to know if I'm up or down to try and remember if that was a good way to take the last corner or not.

Same here, I use a DFGT so no clutch there either. IRL I’ve always driven standard though so my left is trained for a clutch. It’s gonna take some work to train it for a brake, but nothing that can’t be done in time though. :)
Pigems, I don't even know how to brake using the right foot. So in the same "boat"

Congrats, great work!

The first thing I’d say is watch the top 10 replays. Last time I checked there’s a 911 in the top 10 too. I know it’s hard to replicate that kind of driving, but there’s definitely stuff to be learned from those laps.

I know it's a stupid question ...but
Where is possible to see the top 10 replays?

Where is it possible tk see top 10 replays.
Before entering the races or qualifying time trials, load up the leaderboards, switch it to the top 10 stars, and they will have an orange/red play symbol to the right of their names, click the symbol and you’ll find the options to either play or download their replay 👍

Daily Race B, 15:50 Room
Car Used: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 '11

Qualified 2nd, finished 1st. My 1:39.683 time is only enough to put me in 2nd due to Dauble-Weapon appearing in my race. I was pretty much defending from NoizyTribeGAS, who is infamously known for using all sorts of assists, for most of the race. He is using a 911 RSR, while Dubbo uses the GR Supra. On Lap 3, Dubbo ends up having issues with the runoffs, which on Lap 4 he finally bottled it on the same corner as when he had issues on the previous lap, which promoted me into the lead. At this point, I simply took the victory, while Dubbo ends up injuring himself again on the Final Lap into the hairpin trying to pass Wata-kun in a blue M6, where the former ends up hitting the wall and drops down into...SICKKKKKHHHHH, behind a Malaysian in another SLS, to which he is known for killing an Atenza a lap before into the final chicane (first one in the Forwards version). We probably can conclude, based on this report and rumours from other people, that Dauble-Weapon is pretty much @F4H Super GT in Japanese clothes, but twice as fast and an apparent Toyota fanboy than Mr. Steve.

This is a race from last night, I got a 5 second penalty at the 5:00 mark because the guy in front of me lost traction and I bumped him, I didn’t have time to react once he slipped, I felt bad but there’s not much I could have done as I was pushing him pretty hard in that area. Was it really my fault?

Then I got unlucky at the bus stop with a car unghosting at 6:18, I tried to go through him stupidly but he came back right before I passed thru, grrrrr. Dumb move on my part, but overall not a bad race. :)

Sounds like me last week. I stopped racing before the week ended because I got kinda fed up. 3500 down to 250 DR in about 6 races. this week had been better, even when matched against drivers a couple of classes higher. Just hang in there i guess and pick your battles 👍.

The more you practice it the more you will fit it, the better you’ll understand where it is you need to improve. Skills learnt in practice aren’t forgotten although gains become smaller and smaller. Having the mentality to search when gains are meaningless makes all the difference to race pace.

Rono’s Race B this week.

(Also Shared In game)

Rono, I fully understand and agree. After studying your replay (hard) :), I was able to shave of 4 tenth's but at my age I just have to understand and accept that some racetracks in GTS can be too technical for my ol' bones and too hard to manage a full lap with so many challenging corners and stuff without some mistakes. I stay put and see what comes up next week. Have a great weekend! Cheers.

Next week's races are up:
A: N100 - Tokyo Expressway Central Outer Loop - 5 laps - Sports Medium Tyres (didn't we have this last week in the Audi, and a few weeks before that in the beetle?)
B: Gr.4 - Red Bull Ring - 5 laps - Racing Hard Tyres (as seen in the Nations Cup Repechage Race)
C: Gr.3 - Nurburgring 24h - 2 laps - x5 Fuel, x7 tyre wear - Racing Soft Tyres - Mandatory Tyres at Pitstop: Racing Hard (Same combo as the Manufacturers Series Final but with different wear rates I think)

Whoa, mandatory tyre changes are new!

Race B tonight. Went with the Viper, but just couldn't get it to dance like the M3. I was able to set a time close to the M3, but with a lot of effort, and I still couldn't manage to match it. Started P6/15 on a mixed grid of DR/C and D.

The race was a bit of a nightmare. Nothing dirty, just my mistakes. Yellows breed yellows, and once I came off track, I just couldn't get the car to turn in any more and kept understeering off the track. Spun out at the left hander at the bottom fo the esses. I dropped back down the field in freefall lap after painful lap. I finished P13, and have no one to blame but myself (I really wish they would add a crying smiley).

SR unchanged. DR dropped below everything I'd made in the past 3 days. Another day above DR 1 :indiff:.

Try the Mustang. It's compliant over the bumps but turns in better than the other really compliant cars. otherwise try the mazda, a little more rigid over the bumps but easy to handle and turns in quite well.

Had a shocker for SR last night, just could not get a clean trace in. DR up to 23k from 20K this week though but DR B and C are a nightmare, need to get back to A quickly.
