Fun? You should have a separate account for *fun*. You just don't do that jokes and whistles matter with your main one, sir.

Relax dude, I can just get the minimal amount of points I lost back.
Besides, isn’t the whole point of playing video games is for fun?

Just like the rest of the week, racing on Suzuka has been clean fun.

My first full week with a new G29... and boy are my arms tired. So started to wear work gloves. It helps a lot. But it feels so stupid.

I see you're a man of taste as well

I surrendered after first few months and just reduced the strength of the wheel haha

Back to the track! You will do what I say , when I say! Back to the track! You will drive when I say, you must drive! Yes, against my better judgement I figured I'd do one race this week. Sukiyaki with the rexy on TCS 0. I'm slow, so loosing any driver aids hurts me generally. The tricky bits were the hair pin and chicane exits. I qualified P9/11 on a grid with a few higher ups but generally DR/Ds, so I can't really blame the grid for my poor showing... one of the DR/Ds was P3. :nervous:

I ran the race as best I could, tried not to lose it. The WRX felt like someone had replaced the engine oil with black strap molasses . I didn't have any contacts, and no penalties. I did get a bit out of shape a couple of times on the hair pin and once I came fish tailing out of the chicane. That brought back memories of my youth involving a wet road, and SJ413 and a weld mesh fence...... :scared:.

Finished P7. I think the two DNFs might have something to do with that. SR still 99, DR dropped.....by 4 . Just for the heck of it I did a qualifying lap in the Viper and beat my rexy time by 2s with just that single lap. Oh well... not racing next week, the combos just don't grab me enough to deal with. Another day about DR 1 .

I enjoyed (yes, that word is chosen deliberately) two races in Tokyo this morning. Yesterday evening after an extensive indulgence of a few glasses of a 2014 Barolo (note: that‘s red wine and actually it was nearly a bottle and not just a few glasses) I got the thought „Whyathey all usin de Volkswagen? Why nobody de Heffteeon?“. And so I decided to run a Q-Lap with the FT-1 Gr. 3 and in the second lap I beat my old Q-Time set with the 997 by nearly a second: 1:57.7.

So this morning (after sleep, coffee and a shower) I joined two races, both on softs with a stop in Lap 4.
- Race #1: Started P7, Finished P6, Blue S, 4s Penalty involved
- Race #2: Started P10, Finished P6, Blue S

Overall very fair racing. No pushing, no overly aggressive maneuvers, no blocking. Hats off to my fellow drivers there. Overall ~1000 DR gain.

Anyone else having problems with the game today? I start it and right after the server check i start hearing the music in the menu but the menu is not visible and the screen stays black ....

Ps. Nevermined, it turnes out i had problems with the router

I don't know why people were recommending it over the F-Type this week. Just love driving that cat.

Don't think anyone is interested in next week though. I might see what this "Christmas" thing is all about.

Worked on race pace today at suzuka ( after a late saturday night a proper sunday sleep in was in order first though ) managed to bring it down to high 2.07's low 2.08s - puts me nicely out of TT divebombing range  grabbed 4 wins out of 4 races before my headache took over and i switched off the ps4

HELP please!
I am a beginner and I am practising Daily Race A.
The Fugu Z has high delays between the gears when shifting. I saw in top 10 they lift off the gas pedal when shifting to reduce the delay. This doesn't really work that well for me.

Can anybody help me with a tip? Or maybe tell me how you call what I am looking for ( would make it easier for me to google).

They are probably using a clutch and H shifter, if the car shifts on its own with Paddles/auto transmission it’s just gonna shift slower, any road car with an H pattern gears will be like that.

I am using manual shifting with pedals. Is there a way to reduce the delays? So is it because they use clutch+gear knob?

As far as I know yes, that’s why, but it has to be a H pattern shifter like a G25/G27 wheel would have, not an up/down only style shifter like a DFGT or Paddles and you need to have the clutch pedal, that way you can control how fast you shift gears vs hitting a Shift Up button and waiting for the car to shift itself. In the old games you could add aftermarket flywheels, clutches and such to decrease shift time but this game doesn’t allow you to do that as far as I know now that there’s no performance parts upgrades.

You need to figure out how to enter the race with the Tesla (1-speed transmission) :sly:

While I've gotten 13 wins using the clutch + shifter, Ive also been beaten by a couple people who clearly weren't using it which is incredible for them, they were running low 1:05 laps in race trim. Amazing pace. That means they'd be in 1:04 if they had a shifter.

So what I'm saying is, this is a non issue. If you can get your qualifying into the 1:05 you will do damage.

Did one Race B (Gr.4 @ Suzuka, 4 laps) last night.

Ok so, I haven't do much Sport Mode lately. I definitely feel a difference in QF difficulty with the weekly race schedule and must say the daily schedule was a better fit for me personally, but feel that 3 days rotation would be perfect, with one or two races added.

Anyways, I'm a low DR B at the moment and have usually been qualifying in the upper half of the grid at that rating. I've only done two races since the schedule changed from daily to weekly, and in both races I qualified in the bottom 3 of the grid. Obviously, with each race lasting 7 days instead of 1, people have more time to set QF laps, and it's very appearant in the lineup how much closer all the laps are. If I'll get active again in Sport Mode, I'll need to spend more time doing QF laps.

Anyway, back to the race. I was using the Vantage and I qualified 13/16, but two players dropped out so I started the race 11/14.

Had a nice battle with a Frenchman with the username of Morpheus something driving a Audi TT, where he came out on top. Was a pretty steady race by most. Was up to 8th place when starting the final lap, and then some action took place.

On the straight before the final chicane, there were two guys who clashed. Someone in a VW dived on a guy in a Alfa 4C on the fast left hander before the chicane, resulting in the Alfa guy getting dragged behind. Morpheus in the Audi TT got tangled up in this and spun out and I swoop past into 7th place.

Alfa guy was seriously pissed and rammed the VW guy out at the chicane, textbook revenge ram, and then tried to cut the chicane, resulting in him being reset on the track further back.

While all this goes on, I swoop past both of them and take 5th place. Crossing the finish line I was quite close to 4th place as that guy was serving his penalty by the finish line, but made it out with 4th place. Note: I want penalty zones in the weekly races! :)

All in all, fun race and good results for me. I gained 6 places, had a clean race and gained around 500 DR points. Quite content, this race goes as a green one in my Sport Mode Race log Excel sheet :D

Final note: That Audi is fast in a straight line! :O

Wow, that video took forever to finally upload, it started last night lol. Anyways, this was Win #50, not very exciting to be honest, unless you count me blowing my lead and only winning because the guy got a penalty for bumping me on the way by lol. I lost my concentration big time on the final lap knowing it was for #50 and I got lucky at the end. Check out the glitch though that the guy who finished in second had going at the end of lap 2 and beginning of lap 3, I’d like to know how to do that haha, I think it’s just a camera glitch though after watching it a few more times, it starts at 4:34 until after he exits the rhythm section onto the straight. He goes right off the track or spins out and them bam, he’s right back in it somehow haha. :)

Prepped up and went in country. Deep into the bowels of Suzuka I crept. Undetected I snuck my way into the a plus at the top 3 lobby starting in the eighth position. Although the enemy tried to foil my efforts for a good start by dumping me mid chicane my special driving forces training kicked in and I managed to easily outrun the TT sitting nine into t1.
My trusty Mcclaren was stable as I carved my way through the esses and hit Degner nice applying pressure to the VW in seventh. The driver was a steely veteran though and stuck to his line and over the next lap he was able to get comfortable after I made a slight error on the hairpin line.
All was well, I penetrated deep into enemy territory and won the war of attrition picking up 2 spots a clean race bonus 400 dr and an mp4-12c for the daily car.
Nice start to the day...

Tried out a few different cars in race C this week (other than GTI) and my best time came in the Nissan GTR (1:54.7) though it didn't fare well in the race for me. The FT-1 was probably my best one in the race though I didn't really get any exceptional results. I wasn't sure about the track at first but in general the racing has been good fun.
The only race I've uploaded: (was quite a decent race)

It's surprising how much difference there is in individual car performance going from track to track within the same car class.

I started testing cars for next week's race C, Tokyo Expressway Outer Loop. The car I used at Suzuka this week, which did really well on that track, gets destroyed by over 2 1/2 seconds by a car that was almost useless at Suzuka.

I love that there's so much diversity of vehicles within the classes (except for Gr.2). 👍

The change to weekly races has really changed the dynamics, when i stopped racing gt sport ( studies and work demanding too much time ) it was still the daily format, i could be top ten with an optimum 2 tenths better than my lap.

But since returning, you just cannot afford that kind of luxury, i started this week 2nd/3rd emea table, but as the week goes on unless you have time to just keep pounding out the laps you will slip down.

My optimum is 2 tenths faster than my lap this week, didnt have time to perfect it ( unless i didnt race at all ) and I've slipped down to 13th now. The standard of lap to stay on the leaderboard is now unbelievable becuase more people can spend the week perfecting their laps

I like the idea mentioned of 2 rotations per week

Maybe they should add a 4th race spot. Race "D" for "Daily".

And make it crazy. ie Raptors at Willow. <- fun race/don't need a week of it.

That's what I was thinking -->

You know what would be awesome? A 4th daily race where the only thing known is a starting time. The car and track are randomly drawn every time. Maybe 5 minutes to qualify, once everyone completes their entry. I would do "Race D" all day long.

That idea is brilliant, but the only thing with it is that you would end up with awful combinations, how many people want to race fiat 500s round tokyo expressway? Vs how many people want gr2 at the nurburgring gp?

Maybe if they had only a few select car groups / tracks?

Right. It would be a gamble to enter, not knowing what fate has in store for you. :nervous:
What I had in mind was basically a test of who can adapt the quickest, rather than our current setup, which gives people a week to figure it out.
Imagine the hilarity of Gr.1 at Tsukuba.

Sunday afternoon was very clean again in the daily C and very competitive. Fast rooms, all SR.S with almost all blue ratings at the end. it will till be a while before the red dot disease passes yet today the server split did work. Racing with mostly green connections does make everyone feel more confident on the track.

Now., I do remember it being pretty clean last Sunday afternoon, then turn to 🤬 in the evening. So the jury is still out.

IMO going back to just Race A on a 24 hour cycle is a better solution than a Race D which is dividing the player pool even more.

By nature, Race A being weekly doesn't make sense. A quick-fix short race that people can squeeze in on weeknights without having to spend hours qualifying. That should be A. It gives people a reason to log in every day and see what the new race is. It also gives them a chance to try new DLC cars on a daily basis.

It also lets PD take a little more risk with car choices. When do we ever get Super Car one-make races? If people are afraid to drive a F50, they'd only have to wait 24 hours. Now, PD picks "safe" cars that we endure for a whole week. Ugh!

Did more Race C simulations with an RC F and an M4, and the total race times were 15:23 and 15:24 respectively. The M4 can actually burn more fuel, allowing for a lighter load and helps with its notoriously high tyre wear. And the RC F has a higher top speed of 164 MPH (VS the 162 of the M4 and the TT Cup). Those three, plus the Veyron, will be my first choices for the Tokyo race.
