What Idiots at Monza seriously. How can you miss braking point all the time is beyond me.

Got 3 blue SR's out if 4 races. I feel like i won the race :p

Same at Maggiore, it's just the way now. Aggressive drivers all throughout the field, got bashed about in every race, even the one where I finished second. I even got sandwiched by two cars just after I came out of the pits in front of both. In another race I watched two guys push each other all way down the straight until both went into the barriers on the inside and the amount of punting in the braking zones was high too. They just don't give you a chance to out drive them, they make sure to stop you getting away from them with lots of taps and dirty moves and when they are in front they intentionally hold you up, likely hoping another idiot smashes you from behind, which usually does happen.

Every day the driving standards get worse and worse than that is the dirtiest driver usually comes out on top, unless an alien speeds away from pole early on, never to be seen again or more importantly rammed into and off the track.

Oh :nervous:

It might not be the same for you but even coming through the field (after I was punted in the banked hairpin) was a challenge for me, so many either unaware you are there or more likely just happy to force you off the track.

I'm not saying I'm perfect or anything, I make mistakes like most do but some of this is far from a mistake.

Fingers crossed... I;m not hopeful though

Car of choice for today? 911?

Strange thing happen in Maggiore race just now.
Qualified 2nd, 20 drivers, some I raced before, most of all SS, AS and some BS BA...
When the warm up lap starts there was only 4 of us...
All left...
we did the full race but I was always waiting to get disconnected just like all the others.
Got to win it easily but only received 46 points...

 must have been weird

M6, the Lancer was doing ok too for some though and was on the leaderboards. Also the 911 is not too bad as always. I used the AMG at first but the M6 is faster, I beat my best by 4 tenths with it and that lap had some obvious errors on it too.

Viva la Monza! That was a ride. Unlike most people, I'm not averse to the Monza races. If you are prepared to accept the fact that the first chicane is always going to be a smash derby. I found positioning yourself in the middle so you aren't going to get dumped into the kitty litter, take your SR licks and squeak past the carnage you can manage to race the rest fairly clean.

I did have one person who when i was passing with plenty of room decided to try running me off the road. I had the choice between the sand or pushing back. I want to race clean, but I won't be bullied. Got past him and on to clean air. last lap I had someone loosing a bit and gaining a bit. Tad too cautious at the last chicane and I could see by the time him creeping up. I cracked and was carrying too much speed into the last corner, went a bit wide. All i could really do was maintain my line on the outside and watch him slowly squeeze past me. 4th instead of 3rd, but still my best finish :D. I wish the other guy hung around long enough for me to congratulate him.

I'm glad you had fun. Still, it's a no for me.

Woah... you went up 9000DR yesterday  jeez!

if i could race as fast as i qualified it might have been more like 20000 haha. i started from pole in nearly all of my races yesterday but didn't actually win any

You must be getting matched against higher DR rated drivers and beating them then :)

i think it's normal. it seems like there's not many S rank DR drivers online in europe at any one time so they tend to share rooms with A/S ranks and sometimes even B/S ranks. if you're an A rank driver with maximum SR you'll basically always end up in a room with one or two drivers who qualify on the top 10 leaderboards so if you can keep up with the S ranks (or they have accidents or disconnect) you'll gain DR quickly

....those 2 massive SR dives were purely because of turn 1 at monza

Based on that, the connection between SR and DR is a two way street. Despite the number of hits I've taken in various races, I've still finished with my SR/S rating. Being a DR/S I guess any impact gets more heavily penalised than us in the amateur league.

You probably just have enough SR points to lose a few but remain above the threshold.

Monza is not only bad for T1, but penalties for track limit infringements too (which also count against SR)

that might be true. but I only reached S yesterday so I was A for those two days. i think turn 1 at monza is very hard on SR because you not only lose SR for the contact, but also for cutting the chicane (due to being punted across it at 300mph)

Robben: aside from a few low 90's my "Manner Points" have been in the high 90's for half of my short online racing time. if as Inri says, he/she dropped from a SR/S at max SR points to a SR/B from a single turn, he/she has been penalised far more harshly than I.

As he says, it's not one just one turn. It's the shunting, cutting and bumping that come on that turn 4 times in one race.

yeah, it's more like an accumulation of penalties that happen at that specific turn over the course of an evening. i don't doubt the same thing will happen to me too the next time monza is the daily C race. it's always funny the day after when you find other people who are normally S SR in SR B and A rooms as we all try to get our SR back to normal lol

 it really is a bad track for SR

I managed to string together several consecutive poles > victories at Monza today; were the T1 carnage as bad as it's being made out to be, I doubt that would have been possible.

Give it another shot, it's not so bad :)

Something similar happened to me over the weekend. Fourteen drivers on the grid (I was 7th), weird delay, and once it gets to the rolling start, drivers 8-14 just disappear.

I'm going to give Monza another shot, I wonder if people are better at staying on track this time. Last time I was the only one without a red dot in 6 out of 11 races. The rest 1 to 3 others without a penalty. Today I'll count the times T1 turns out all right, I wonder if I'll get past zero :)

The Fittipaldi races went pretty well yesterday, I even got a clean streak of 4 before someone didn't brake in time while I was behind another car in the chicane. Managed 2 wins, now at 111 and unfortunately made it back to DR.A, where the racing got dirty again... I don't understand, I get matched with DR.S to DR.D regardless, yet with more DR.A in the room clean driving suffers.

The first win I started 3rd, 1st and 2nd were going side by side in T4 on lap 1 and slowed each other down, 2nd ended in the wall, I passed 1st on the straight and managed to stay ahead by less than a second. When 2 dogs fight etc.

Second win I started 5th, lot of fighting in front of me and one after the other they all disappeared in the grass or wall. I just drove passes the carnage and won the race with 6 sec lead...

Is it a pattern, same thing happened to me yesterday

Quiet race.

The difference when more than half the field is Dr S is so much compared to earlier on when it was mostly A, much cleaner and faster too obviously.

Ok I only have a chance to try to hang with the best by using CSA but it's fun non the less. Even when some numpty gets himself stuck behind other cars due to errors and then runs out of fuel just before the last corner.

In my defence the M6 is not that easy to handle without assists and I've only completed two races with it so didn't take enough care with the fuel as normally that won't be a problem with the cars I normally drive.

Experience so far on Monza (DR.A SR.S)

Race 1: Start 11th, T1 mess, knocked to last in T2, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 11th, -5 SR (94)
Race 2: Start 14th, T1 pushed and dive bombs on lap 2 and 3, 1 minor time penalty, Finished 8th, -2 SR (92)
Race 3: Start 11th, T1 pushed to 14th, more shunts along the race, No time penalty, Finished 9th, -2 SR (90)
Race 4: Start 6th, T1 hit from behind absorbed the blow, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 3rd, +4 SR (94)
Race 5: Start 7th, T1 bomber took out 6th missed me, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 3rd, +3 SR (97)

Still zero count for a clean T1, yet overall it's better behaved than 2 weeks ago, on average 'only' 50% red ratings and down to 65% red dots.

I haven’t really been rammed into T1 at Monza. I stick to the very far right of the approach to the chicane and brake earlier.

There is never anyone taking the same line behind me due to all the open space on the middle and left of the straight away.

Maybe worth a try.

3 fairly clean races at Monza tonight, T1 a bit messy although it might have been because of my power ups :D. Also saw a flying McLaren.
I carried a little experiment. Currently B/S, I started 2 races with no qualifying time so from the back to avoid the pile up, made about 10 places each time, and got about 500 points DR per race. Last race I qualified third, finished second, got 1,000 DR points. So qualifying is definitely worth it unless I got really lucky. No SR change at 99. Again, pretty clean tonight, I enjoyed a lot. Have fun and see you online!
