The difference when more than half the field is Dr S is so much compared to earlier on when it was mostly A, much cleaner and faster too obviously. :bowdown:

Ok I only have a chance to try to hang with the best by using CSA but it's fun non the less. Even when some numpty gets himself stuck behind other cars due to errors and then runs out of fuel just before the last corner. :lol:

In my defence the M6 is not that easy to handle without assists and I've only completed two races with it so didn't take enough care with the fuel as normally that won't be a problem with the cars I normally drive.:cool:

most of the best use csa anyway .. theres no real reason not to. as nice as it feels to drive in gt sport its not really a pure sim since it makes some mechanical concessions for playability so if you want to use the tools the game gives you theres no reason to feel guilty about it

Experience so far on Monza (DR.A SR.S)

Race 1: Start 11th, T1 mess, knocked to last in T2, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 11th, -5 SR (94)
Race 2: Start 14th, T1 pushed and dive bombs on lap 2 and 3, 1 minor time penalty, Finished 8th, -2 SR (92)
Race 3: Start 11th, T1 pushed to 14th, more shunts along the race, No time penalty, Finished 9th, -2 SR (90)
Race 4: Start 6th, T1 hit from behind absorbed the blow, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 3rd, +4 SR (94)
Race 5: Start 7th, T1 bomber took out 6th missed me, Rest clean, No time penalty, Finished 3rd, +3 SR (97)

Still zero count for a clean T1, yet overall it's better behaved than 2 weeks ago, on average 'only' 50% red ratings and down to 65% red dots.

hi .. i consider myself a seasoned pro when it comes to being rammed at mach 1 speed during t1 of monza, so i have some advice. if you use ABS, keep the brakes on when you feel a shunt is imminent and you wont go flying quite as far .. you can usually save your race that way

There is never anyone taking the same line behind me due to all the open space on the middle and left of the straight away.

Maybe worth a try.

That's where dive bombers go, just had another one of them. Started 2nd, dive bombed into 5th yet I wasn't all the way to the right, I usually take the middle so the dive bomber on the right and later brakers on the left don't hit me. I'll give it a try, see what happens. Not sure what do to at the chicane though with all the traffic already there? Wait for a space to merge or cut the corner? Dive bombers just crash in :/

It's been happening a bit more it seems. It only happened to me last weekend, but I've noticed it affecting other people as well. I don't know if it's a bug or if they're somehow filtering out lower level racers at the last minute, or maybe they’re determining the dirtiest ones and phasing them out.

I followed your advice lol

Race 7: Start 5th, T1 4th hits 3rd, I survived in 3rd, elbowed to 4th in T4, No time penalty, Finished 4th, +0 SR (92)
Race 8: Start 2nd, T1 Dive bomb hit to 12th, climbed up, punted repeatedly, time penalty from getting punted into cars in front, Finished 6th, -28 SR (64)

That was the worst race I've had in over 1100 races, now SR.B, wtf. Then someone starts accusing me off punting people off. I saved the replay, might upload it later, carnage.

Race 9: Start 3rd, T1 clean, swapped position, dive bombed on final turn yet he had 4 sec penalty, Finished 3rd, +4 SR (68)

After 9 races, the first clean T1, it took SR.B to get there. SR.S sucks.

Spoke too soon
Race 10: Start 2nd, T1 punted into short cut, hit 1st braking way early with not enough room to ditch on the outside (wall) no harm yet 10 sec penalty, Finished 3rd, -14 SR (54)

I'm curious how low it can go. This penalty system lol.

At least the races are different now, however I have descended into rooms with lots of inexperience. Not a lot of A/B drivers around.

Race 11: Start 1st, T1 punted by 1 bar connection and in 2nd chicane as well to 11th place, No time penalty, Finished 3rd, -2 SR (52)

I hit a car in that one spinning out right in front of me, unavoidable even though I was braking, hence the SR Down.

Race 12: Start 3rd, Punted T1 and T2 to 9th, dirty race, No time penalty (only one), Finished 3rd, -2 SR (50)

Second punt pushed me into cars, hence the SR Down plus a hilarious blocker on the straight that drove himself into the wall weaving in front of me. Saved by ghosting from a 3rd punt.

How do you see your points in increments of -2, +3, etc...? I know I can see my stats on kudos but how do you see results like that instantly?

I don't know if i agree with that.

I find GR1 to be easier than GR3. They are faster but they have Soo much more grip. It's really hard to spin a GR 1 Porsche or Mazda and they turn on a dime.

My races have not been any dirtier in GR1 than in any of the other classes.

agree with that, also reflects my own situation, can win the one makes if no aliens around, can somewhat handle the Gr. 4 and maybe win at some point in the future, maybe some day handle the Gr. 3, but the Gr. 1... tbh I am not even interested in that a lot, to me it seems more like a reaction test than skillful driving.

On an off topic sid note: when I play the videos withn the forum on my iPad in Safari they always have crappy quality (low res) and only if I open them in the Youtube app they play with normal quality and resolution, is that a known problem?

Race 13: Start 3rd in between 4 Brazilians, T1 2nd takes out 1st, 5th takes out 4th, I drive in between the carnage, 22 sec lead, on lap 4 a backmarker is waiting for me, I brake way early out of his line for the last turn, he steers into me as expected, still win with 15 sec lead, +4 SR (54), clean race bonus.

Race 14: Start 3rd, conceded position in T1 clean (carnage in rear mirror), Person who forced the move ran himself off later, No time penalty (only one), Finished 3rd, +4 SR (58), clean race bonus.

Race 15: Start 2nd, punted in T1 only lost 1 place, SR down for lightest tap on a last second blocker, No time penalty, Finished 1st, -2 SR (56)

Race 16, Start 1st, I take the inside line, 2nd overtakes by ignoring the second half of the chicane then crashes himself 15 seconds later, No time penalty (1 other without), only blue SR rating, Finished 1st by 8 sec (all DR.B room), +4 SR (60), clean race bonus

Race 17, Start 2nd, fatigue sets in, I get distracted by first place repeatedly weaving in front of me not picking a side, I miss my braking point, manage to miss him and steer safely on the shoulder, now in 9th. Stuck in traffic I get rammed at the second chicane, then punted in the third, Still manage to finish 5th, +0 SR (60)

Race 18, Start 4th, punted in T1 and T2, yet come out 3rd. 2nd is extremely laggy and blocking, messes up in lap 4, person behind has caught up and bumps me but fails, No time penalty (One other as well), Finished 2nd, -2 SR (58)

Race 19, Start 3rd, I avoid the dive bomb in T1, emerge in 2nd. First place is the same fast person collecting wins for plat trophy. Finished 2nd, 6 sec behind first, 12 sec in front of 3rd, boring race, +4 SR (62) Clean race bonus. (rooms are still >= 80% red ratings)

Race 20, Start 1st, I take the inside line, side by side throug T1, still have the inside line to the second chicane, regain first, No penalty (only one), Finish first, +4 SR (66), clean race bonus.

Race 21, Start 2nd, T1 punted to 8th, manage to avoid the punters in 2nd chicane and a dive bomb later on, No penalty, Finish 2nd, +0 SR (66)

Race 22, Start 2nd, T1 first gets punted, I hold back to avoid, 2 Mazdas respawn in front of me, now in 4th, one repeatedly tries to bash me into the wall on the way to the second chicane after attempting to block, he loses control and eats dirt, I get 5 sec penalty. Punters miss at second chicane, Mazda attempts a dive bomb at T1 lap 2 and overshoots. Finish 2nd, -8 SR (52)

Race 23, Start 3rd, T1 big mess, survive in 4th, 3rd crashes then 2nd, great clean battle for first, felt sorry he overshot in lap 3, another battle with who caught up, great race. Finish 1st, +0 SR (52), Best race so far despite T1

Race 24, Disconnected from network at matchmaking

Race 25, Start 4th, T1 bullied to 5th but no punt! Dive bomber overshoots at 2nd chicane, I overtake 4th otw to T1 lap 2, 3rd and 2nd crash, No time penalty, Finish 2nd, +0 SR (52)

Race 26, Start 3rd, T1 punted to 13th (turned around), pick up yellow flag penalty in 2nd chicane, Penalties for all, Finish 2nd, +3 SR (55)

Race 27, Start 2nd, T1 pushed around to 11th (protected 1st!), punted to 12th in 2nd chicane, hit again at T1 lap 2, someone stalling in T1 lap 3 so had to go wide losing places again, Finish 4th, +0 SR (52)

Race 28, Start 5th, T1 survived the pushing and shoving, fast race, No time penalties for top 3, Finish 3rd, +0 SR (55), DR.S player from early afternoon is in the room, now also SR.A

Race 29, start 1st, second has 1 bar connection, his lag car shoots buy narrowly missing me, luckily he gets disconnected and I escape, win by 9 seconds (only DR.A in the room), +4 SR (59)
I'm not the fastest driver, yet I'm running this track like clock work by now, 1:34.929 1:34.922 1:34.954 consistency wins the race.

Race 30, start 3rd, a Mazda uses the reset after chicane glitch to overtake in T1, at least he missed everyone, now in 4th, second chicane that Mazda I'm now alongside tries to push me off, he loses control, gone. I swap places with 2nd, he takes it back in the last lap when I make a mistake, clean. Finish 3rd, +3 SR (62)

Race 31, start 4th, bit of rubbing in T1 trying to push me off yet I get the better corner exit and pass to 3rd otw to 2nd chicane, further clean tight race, No penalties, 2nd messes up in T1 lap 4, I avoid, person behind me spins out, Finish 2nd, +0 SR (62)

Race 32, start 2nd, T1 yellow flag, blocks flying every where yet 1st place and me escape unharmed, 1st is the DR.S player from earlier again, he wins by 7 seconds, 3rd place is another 8 seconds behind me, +4 SR (66), clean race bonus.

Race 33, start 3rd, T1 get pushed aside by 4th who slows me down on rest of the first lap, I safely pass on the straight start lap 2 yet 1st and 2nd are already gone, Finish 3rd, No time penalty for the top 3, +0 SR (66) thanks to T1 push.

Getting back to SR.S is going to take forever with Monza!

Punted to SR.B from SR.S has gotten me 5 wins so far.

Nice last race tonight, guy clips me on first lap after gaining 1st from 3rd. I’m back to 5th and catch 1st place on the final turn for the win.

He apologised afterwards too which is nice. That’s what this game is all about IMO
 
Yeah... I just did one race in this Gr.1 at Monza. Pole, then someone hit me in T1... went to 9th I think. When I was passing 3rd or second... he did a “Prost on Senna at Suzuka 89” on me. A bit stronger actually. I went to the sand for the second time. Finished 4th and lost “just” 700 DR points. So I say **** them. Let them be in lower ranks forever, because they won’t have my DR points.

Had 4 goes at monza qualified top 3 each time one of which was pole in the bugatti. By turn 1 I was fighting to hold 5th thanks to the 919s. Fought back to 3rd then decided to switch to the 919. Got punted the next 2 races at the first 2 chicanes and ended up 4th and 9th. Decided to try the Mazda the last race put the elbows out a bit and steered into a few guys that were trying to drive me off the road and managed 2nd overtaking 3rd around the outside at lesmo 1 on the last lap before giving up and laying down some laps in the dark at Bathurst.
