I was anticipating more drivers this morning. I did 1 race A. Felt very empty. Did not see anyone from Central/South America. Maybe people are still working on new qualifying times.

There are every race B so far, 3 or 4 per race. South Americans are fast, I wouldn't race N100 either!

So with the new physics change, is anyone getting better laptimes in Race B? Is the 4c still all top 10 in the American region?

Had a good start today With turning pole to a win. Also improved my lap time by .3 seconds because @6BKAt the end of the lap this happens
(I'm in the Porsche)

I put blame on the other guy before I saw the replay. I was in bumper cam and felt like I gave enough space. I think I could have given him a little bit more space. Thoughts?

His fault. He is on inside line, you are on outside line. He is supposed to exit corner giving you enough room in the outside lane but instead goes wide to cut you off.

CLASSIS great at Time Trial but cant race worth crap. So many of these guys, a generation of follow the line drivers who can barely drive outside TT land let alone race..

Then this happened in another race..

These guys irk the crap out of me. WTF is wrong with these chump losers, cry me a river you're getting passed be faster next time bobo what's a matter you frustrated you can't race.

Lots of fast drivers with fire qualifying times yet they cant race for their lives. Step out a car near me after that kind of ish, we both going to the hospital. Im going in with a broken hand, buddy a broken face...

Hah, I thought you'd appreciate my quali time when you saw it. There was .07 of a second between us last night. I will say, to be fair to the guy in the Lambo in your first vid, I use the Lambo for a lot of races, have done on the last couple of Daily B Gr4 on Red Bull Ring & Kyoto. On Gardens it just seems to drift wide on corners for me which is why I'm not using it this week. There is a very strong chance it was not so much intentional but just how that car drifts.

I had a good night racing, no pole starts but some top 5 and another 6 races with 5 top 5 finishes. Close to a win when I led for a couple of laps on a race having started 3rd...only for the guy who had been 1st to totally broadside me on T4. He came down inside me with absolutely no hope of turning and when I tried to turn in I found myself facing the side of his car. Frustrating, I've only ever won 1 other race and it was a crappy Fiat 500 thing. Overall good though, up from 2K DR Points on Monday to 9,850. 1 good result tonight and I'll be back to DR B.
I'l give the lambo driver the benefit of the doubt. Good results and almost at DR B sounds great, good job!

I see a lot of that sadly. It's like you're not with them on the same track. It's constant dive bombs, missing braking points and just running you off the road.

Adjustin pace to the situation on track is another thing a lot of these drivers don't understand. Had one race ruined at the first chicane because number 1 and 2 were slowly going side by side. I had to slow down to avoid hitting them and tried to position my car to get a run on the straight. Number 4 had a different idea and drove through me..

Re Lambo: If you really needed to know watch the replay from his cockpit view and watch the steering input. If he's turning left but the car is still sliding your way then perhaps he could have eased off the accelerator but if the steering input shows he was going right then it was intentional.

Thanks on the "near DR B". I lost a place from 2nd to 3rd for a stupid error on my last race of the night. Should have got the extra points already. Also thought the 2k bump or drop that kicks in when you are near going up or down might come into effect. Damn PD making me work for my grades.:D

I will check it out. The biggest mistake is being in the position for this to happen. putting +.5 distance to him each lap before I made a mistake.

I noticed all my times were gone this morning, they are still on KP but not on the Gt site or the Daily race screen. At first I thought they may have actually fixed the glitch and removed bad the times but I have my doubts about that. I saw in the FIA thread something about a physics change so maybe that why times were erased.
The brake cheat might have been fixed. The guy who was at 1:05.9 yesterday is at 1:07 today. Not sure, yet.

Anyone else notice there wheel locking up in a turn? i'm is doing all the time now. Riding the brake dosn't work now. it applies brakes now.

That would be great!! I’ve got 2 hours left in the work day and then I’ll find out for sure, fingers crossed!! :)

Glad to make you happy!:dopey: Nearly every place I lost last night was totally my own fault and usually when I should have been comfortable. Even the time I lost 1st place to the dive bomb I blamed myself more for still being close enough to him for it to happen. I passed and lapped him and went on to lap over a second quicker for two laps only to make a mistake entering the chicaine, lost the gap and get dive bombed. Yes, his fault for the move on me, but just as much mine for leaving myself open.

Thought I'd give race A a try today what a mistake that was..
Got hit by the only c rated driver first race span me out no apology at end then got him again second race not only hit me but most of the trailing pack.
I get dr lose of 2000 over the two races due to other drivers bad driving ..
Why do they think if they don't get penalty its ok ...
Few chosen words shouted at the tv.

Hey, I did finish 8th in that first one despite getting knocked around! It was rough tonight. Then the guy starting behind you started accusing me of punting him in the final hairpin. I have no idea if I hit him, I didn't save the video and can't tell from yours. (He passes you at 3:18 when you get hit and you bump him when he brakes odd after throwing his car in front of you at 3:39) I do remember having to evade a couple cars and clipping a car on the inside in that turn, that race was chaos.

Anyway, one incident where I could not avoid it all, -3 SR, easily regained the next race despite getting punted off twice. Love overtaking the same people over and over lol.

Update file copying, time to walk the dog.

Yep it's here

The server is still down though.

@sturk0167 No problem at all on comfort hards in the Tomahawk, 3:11 race time full throttle all the way.

There's a bunch of cool things to see at the new track. I had to stop next to the airport, because I'm really more of an airplane guy than a car guy. It seems like this is where the Blue Moon Bay planes come from. I always thought they were 777s, but upon closer inspection they appear to be A330s. They say Blue Moon Bay on the side of them.

It looks like a mixed-use airport, because there's a bunch of military planes, too. They're all tweaked a little, though. The C5s have different tails, the C17s have turbo props (or maybe they're meant to be A400s), and the fighters look like a mix between a Mig 29 and an F-18. (*Not meant to be facts)

This is vital daily race info. :)

Just had a race at Tsukuba. Nice to see many different flags again.

Pretty uneventful race. Very clean after some pushing at the start. Top 3 guys were about 1 second faster/lap. So after a lap there were about 3 or 4 packs of cars. Had a car behind me for many laps, felt like 10, so patient but I didn't want to give up my position for fear of other cars behind. By lap 15 or so I felt pretty good about the gap behind and let that car through knowing they would attempt to pass in the final laps. Finished 8th, lost the 1 position I gave up. But it felt good to race on my terms.

Did some running today to set new Race B and C times, and I wasn’t able to improve at Dragon Trail, but I was able to improve by almost two tenths at Tsukuba, which definitely wouldn’t have been possible before the update. My guess would be that PD have done something to make mechanical grip a little better and more predictable, which would help more with cars that don’t have a lot of downforce and/or like to slide around, or possibly something with the tire model.

Over-qualifying and under-racing.

All I've done, so far this week is lay down qualifying laps at Maggiore. I felt good about it, because I ended up ranked 40-something in the NA/SA region. Finally I entered a couple races, just now. Got my ass handed to me, big time! The fastest guys are all there. I started 5th and 6th.
I finished 6th and 7th.

It seems to be a bit different when there are other cars on the track with you. Who knew?

I do this, then beer in the evenings!
You wait until the evening???

Update: I had some contacts in the 3rd race and got knocked down to 89 SR. Woo hoo! New group. Got a win, but unfortunately also got a clean race bonus and up to 93 :(. Back to racing with the killers. Feeling outclassed, there. There are some interesting dynamics to this sport racing. :odd:

Why thank you @sturk0167 that was very informative.

On a different subject and a little elitist I just watched the replay from a Daily B last night where I finished 2nd. I happened to scroll through other players and was in cockpit view. The only assist I had on was ABS. Every other car in the top 10 had Steering Assist, Counter Measure Assist & Traction Control turned on.

I’m even happier with my result now.

In equalizing the competition Daily B fixes all car settings, BOP, no fuel use and no tyre wear. Should it also set assists to all be equal or is it just my choice to race without?

I did some laps in the Ferrari last night in B qualifying. I'm slow, but managed some low-mid 42's if I remember right. Slow but consistent. Had a bunch of laps all within .5 seconds. I'll try again tonight.

I get what you're describing, and I can really see it helping in T1. I did the track challenge thing for this track, and though getting gold was no problem, I stayed at each sector and ran it until I felt like I was running it well. I ended up about 1 second off of the top 10 time in the first 2, and .4 off the last. I think my full lap time was almost 3 seconds off, though. A 1:33.8 in the GR-3 car if I remember right. I was hoping to get below 1:40 in the GR-4, but I guess I was fooling myself. Gonna try some other cars tonight and see if I can find some better lines...

Hmm since you've gone to the wheel, my advice would be firstly to do 10 laps in the Ferrari and then swap to the Alfa.

I'm not quick but my best theoretical time in the Alfa is a low 1:38. So firstly leaving the straight try to get the car to the left apex.
With the early chicane, IMO the earlier you can get on full sustained power for that last left turn, the better you time will be. Also, use the throttle a lot - on and off and also in between. This might help you develop feel for the car. If you get through well, then try to remember what worked.

After the chicane, the Alfa is really quick there - firstly, you need to get the car to get to that tight left turn's left apex. The way I do it in the Alfa, is to break then lift the throttle and the car will turn left more under total back off throttle than it will while breaking. Oh and I have my brake setting at one click to the clockwise - right side of the brake adjust dial. If you lock the rear brakes there the car will turn a heap - doing so can almost help - but you'll only save a lock with getting onto the throttle early IMO. And getting onto the throttle maybe much earlier than you'd expect there - get onto the throttle (2nd in the Alfa) early and that helps the car turn too onto and through that Apex. Nail that Apex and you'll be quick out of there.

For the next curves, I am quite inconsistent there. But from the left side I try not to brake but rather I back right off the throttle and the tail swings out and I try to get the car over to that right side, which opens up getting the next left apex. IMO avoid the red track in the Alfa as it can cause me to spin.

Getting a feel for what the throttle does will train your brain's cortex and the more that part of the brain learns the connections between the throttle and the wheel and the car, the faster you're going to become.

Enjoy.

I was about to make a post about this. I was watching some replays and noticed most of my opponents were using ASM and/or steering assist. I don't feel like it makes them faster, but it does make it easier to keep the car on the road and I have a feeling it makes it easier for them to get away with making contact. I feel like the racing would be more fair if everybody in the race gets the same punishment for making mistakes.

Anyway, the day ended ok for me. Have about 3000+ in DR but stil in C. Ended the day with a couple of top 3 finishes and completed the pole position challenge bonus:D

Here are some of my weird move highlights

And the same guy again because who needs brakes (luckily nobody got hurt:crazy:)

Posting this one because I'm not really sure who is wrong but I feel like he could have avoided me. Shouldn't really matter if I'm not fast enough through that corner, you can't just drive through me right? I know it's a small bump but it caused me to lose some time and I would have given the position back in his position.

Waiting for @Pigems to do his test.

I just got on a few minutes ago, I did 20 laps with the Fiat to get a new benchmark and managed a best lap of 1:07.510, the replay is uploading now. Now to see if the bug still works, I’ll report back shortly.

Side note, the new physics changes feel great, I feel like the car had way more grip and less prone to spin outs. I like it, I can’t wait to drive some faster cars lol. :)

Finding it the other way. Can’t get the last corner on the A. More the .500 slower from that corner to the finish. And riding the brake only slows you down now

It’s fixed!! It only took one lap to find out but I did 5 just to make sure, not only are you not faster now with the brake light on, you are actually slower, even if there is no brake bar showing and only the red light. They finally fixed it. :)
