Well, really disappointed that the race B is with the Porsche again, was expecting to be with the TVR honestly, as it is N400 but... it seems that we'll get the same combos over and over, don't remember when was the last time we had Yamagiwa/Yamagiwa+Miyabi or Brands Hatch as proper dailies (GR2/3/4)

Kyoto with Gr4 was my best week so far, I’d happily welcome that combo back. I had a bunch of wins that week against some fast guys. :)

Craziest track and I'm having my best Races. Go figure.

Anyone else notice the option to test your connection in the top left corner of the daily races menu is now gone? I wonder why?

First win on the Nord :)

As you can see, not many people qualify. At least I start in front of most of them, as long as they brake in time for T minus 1 I'm fine.

That was still not enough to recover the 14 SR lost from the first race. Race B is very stingy and the penalty system is still crap. Tap from behind SR Down, bumped out of the way, SR Down. Still backwards.

Oh no. As much as i like the TVR... I can imagine a massive wreckfest in a circuit like Nords with that car

Just won race B after the polesitter (who qualified 11 seconds faster than me with an 8:29 lap) spun off from the lead 3/4 through the lap while I was within 3 seconds of him. Sometimes it pays not to drive at ten tenths (especially at the Nurburgring).

We haven't had a race at Brands Hatch for ages, I miss it, been months since we have had a race there, but then there are lots of tracks we are missing.
When was the last time we had a good race at Lago Maggiore full circuit, or at Barcelona, as for Willow Springs, it must be a year since we had a race there. Also Dragon Tail seaside.

Hmmmm, with the bop change to heavier weight with my preferred gr3 I am going to have to switch for race c.
Mr will not be my choice here.
I see myself getting destroyed on Nordschleife. I don’t spend time there much. That is a good combo though also and I will drive a few laps...

Pleased to see that Race A isn't the TT again. I've done a few laps in the Nissan and have my time down to 1:32.1 so still a fair amount of work to do. Looking at the replays of the top times I'm changing down to 3rd unnecessarily and need to improve my line in some corners.

I'll do some practice at Bathurst before deciding if I'm going to race. I'm very inconsistent there but I'm up for the practice.

I am however giving Race B a very wide berth! Last time we had this combination my SR was absolutely destroyed. I'm not going to blame other people or the penalty system, I just don't have the skill to get the Porsche around that circuit quickly and safely!

Two races for me tonight, Race B and C. Started out with Race B. Dang that sucker is slick on the Nord! I put in a few laps just trying to do a lap that kept on the track. I managed to *mostly* stay on the track:lol:. I started P5/14 on a mixed grid of DR/A-D. I fully expected to drop a few places on this race.

The race was pretty chaotic, but mostly clean. Lots of missed opportunities because I just didn't think I had the room to get past with the slower cars in the middle of the track. I made a few mistakes.. like full course yellows, mistakes breed mistakes. I finished P7. Not unhappy with that :dopey:.

SR up to 99, DR went up nearly 200. I was gunna need em for the next race at Bathurst.

So on the the drama of Mount Panorama. I have only race there once before in the dark. Very disorienting and the Mustang doesn't have the best lights. I qualified P9/16 again on a mixed grid of DRs.

Auto drive drops mid corner and off I head towards Hell Corner. A lot less drama than I was expecting. I made a pass up Mountain Strait and then proceeded to try to get around the circuit. At one stage i was up in P5. Sadly that didn't last long as my tyres were degrading rapidly. I had to pit lap 6 because I was haemorrhaging time. In hindsight I should have changed to mediums instead of sticking to the hards. Throughout the race I had :censored:heads who kept flashing their lights. News flash sunshine, keep that crap up and I'm more likely to slam on the brakes than move over. It *really* 🤬 irritates me .

On the last lap I was realy disoriented, missed the kink on Conrod and strait lined it through the sand trap, across the chase and headed towards the wall on the other side of the track... then the race ended. I finished P13 from all the time I lost in lap 5 and 6 struggling to keep the car on the track from tyre wear. Hopefully tomorrow with the rexy will be different .

SR dropped 7, DR dropped 530 . Still clinging on to DR/C but another couple of races like that or a disconnect and my journey will have come to an end :(.

Love the 997 and love the Nordschleife. 1st race I started on pole with a qualifying time of 7:56 and managed to get the win. Think I can get low 7:50’s with more practice but the top guys are running over 20 seconds a lap faster

Happy with my win though and looking forward to racing the mountain in Gr.3 later.

So far so good. After that win I got up to a 5 consecutive clean streak with top 3 finishes. I almost lost my streak when a self proclaimed, make room for faster drivers, driver hit me from behind in traffic. He was not faster, just impatient, and this time the penalty system got it right.

Fun track, won't be easy to win though as an alien has taken up to farming wins, 7:36 quali time running out ahead. It seems that AT is holding me back in the Porsche as even with a better corner exit and initially growing gap to the car 1.5 sec behind, he catches up and gains 0.3 sec on me. Why is my car so slow.

The AT is a worse culprit than TC. You basically concede control over weight transfer, engine braking, proper exits and so on. Not to mention the ability to save fuel.

Yet another head scratcher for me this week.

I thought the Nordschliefe would be nailed on in the Z8 '01 seeing as they just added it. But nah, let's do the exact same race we did a few weeks back!

At least the Bathurst settings are a bit out there even if the track isn't. All these races stink of SR down though.

Given last week's races, I'm more surprised they didn't use the same Audi TT for race A.
At least they actually gave a different car for that one

Had 2 goes on Race C, 1st one I had no time for a hot lap so just entered with no time set in the Jag. Started 17th and finished 6th with a one stop on lap 4 going from soft to medium no fuel required this week.
SR down around 10 points as I got 2, 5 second penalties as I made my way through the field.
Next race did a bit of qualifying and did a 2:02.882 again in the Jag.....
Turns out the time was good enough for a pole, used soft for 1st stint again and managed to get 5 laps out of them and changed to softs again. The Beetle that was following me from the start decided not to stop and was now around 10 seconds up the road , I caught them in just over 2 laps as the tires on his VW seemed pretty shot and made a pass as they understeered wide. Finished first with around 13 seconds gap from my Jag to the Beetle in P2, 14 SR gained this time and around 400 DR.

It looks like a no-quali win is doable at race C, too. I almost had it. I somehow made it to first before lap 1 was over, because everybody in the front was crashing into each other. I went 5 laps on mediums, then 4 laps on softs, with my Beetle. Driving there in the dark was nerve-racking, especially when the other cars take out the 100 meter braking signs. It's an adjustment.

Like a noob, I got distracted in the end, by watching the gap meter, to see how close the Ford GT was getting. I spun the back end around on the final turn, for the first time in the race. :banghead: Maybe my tires were bad. Oh, well I wouldn't have won anyways, because he was within .6, and I still had a 1.4 sec. wall penalty. It was fun, though. I'll be doing more of that race. 👍

I know, but it saves my aging fingers! I drove stick in RL until I moved across the pond, in a car it feels natural. On a controller it feels like tying my fingers in a knot. The best option is using my thumb and x o buttons, but my right thumb is pretty bad from working with a mouse for too many years. I need some comfort settings :)

Ooh it's in the dark! I guess I need to play some on there as well at night time in HDR. Nordschleife is too much fun though and the sun is out. It would be a bad time to try night racing with the sun in my eyes.

This is why I suspect my DR/SR will suffer greatly this week :scared:. So long DR A, it was a fun visit. @Invisigoth, I'm on my way back down real soon Player .

Edit: Congrats on the dub Svenno!

I shift with my index fingers (L1 up/R1 down), very comfortable for me.
