Any of you guys ever had to hit the options button in the middle of a race, because some real-life stuff came up that you had to deal with? I'm curious what happens if you don't get back to it before the end of the race. Do you still gain or lose DR & SR? Do you appear ghosted to the other drivers? What kind of pace does the autodrive default to? Fast enough to win?

@Melbourne Park The game takes your DR 'wager' when you enter the lobby. You can force a disconnect while the race is still loading / waiting for other players (suspend or close GTS or sign out) and you won't lose DR/SR. Any disconnect after the lobby opens and before online save flashes (when you get back in the lobby after the race) counts as finishing behind everyone else (even if you have already finished the race) and costs 5 SR.

@sturk0167 I'm not sure if you appear ghosted nowadays, but you will get disqualified after a minute for excessive pausing. You can park in the pit as long as you like though (don't select anything). If there is only a minute left to race auto drive will finish the race for you. (not very fast though)

Got off work at midnight. Grabbed a beer and joined the race that starts 12:30 am. The 3rd lap of practice/warmup/qualify without TCS is 1:59,420. Suddenly 57’s without TCS doesn’t feel as far away. Especially not when I’ve had a few more beers

Edit: That’s it! I’m replacing my RSR. 10/15 in this race drives an RSR

I had two races tonight, and in the second, you came 6th in the Jag and I was in a green Megane (blitztoo). I am a bit afraid of the pits at the moment because I fear hitting the wrong buttons and not refuelling, so in the first race I wondered about the fuel and I got to the finish, came second too. I thought i saw you in that race at before the start too???

In the next race, you were there ... I may have helped you too because there was a crash sort of guy in a Hurican who hit me in the back as I defended before the final chicane (off I went but I got out of it OK) and the chap then collided with another car and you came along at the chicane before the start straight and through you went past both of them!!! When you pitted you were not far behind me. I kept going and was second for quite a while still trying to work out if 4 laps of fuel mean't I could add 4 to my lap and still not run out, or should I add another lap. An advantage of the wheel is you have a spare hand to count the laps with your fingers! But I lost my second place to a Porsche (and a Porsche won) - both those guys ran low 2.05s in the race. So third was OK!! My front tyres ran out and if I had of preserved them better, maybe I could have gotten second. But the Porsche looks a "mega" car to me, but the winner certainly knew how to preserve his tyres, I checked his tyres and their wear was even. My fonts were half gone and the rears were brand new.

And Oh I ran the ASM in the Megane as I played with the brake balance - I reckon it did not hurt.

NevilleNobody - GO FOR IT MAN!!!! I am hoping the game is nice to you and gives you an easy win with a kind group of drivers and a super bonus, you've been awesome.

I'll have a look at the replays when I'm done with all the Gr.4 cars. Should be fun.

I did come across a few megane's one wasn't that courteous(in yellow) Was blocking a fair bit and gave me an orange arrow. The Slophys gave room and one player was signalling for me to pass, but I waited until a straight. There are more fair racers out there than knuckleheads.

Had a good coupe of races in the C race. Had several slammers, but also had several people that I raced with trading places a few times. Respectful racing. I got slowed in sand and pulled to the side and they would pass: I don’t block anyone. Had a guy slide but wasn’t a ghost so I tried to slow to avoid and got hammered from behind and got the red SR. Lol. Can’t win for losing I guess. Last driver was Murk_Dweller that I raced with. Traded spots several times always giving each other space. Races are so much better when the other racers give respect and drive hard, but don’t slam into each other.

Have to take my daughter to volleyball practice now or I’d race more. But pretty elated with today’s races. When the week started I think I had gone over 7,000 DR for the first time. Just now went over 17,000. Another 13,000 to A rating.

How are you running it? I tried racing it and was slow in it (if we are talking about the Megaine.) Even with a no stop I’m not keeping up. I do better with the GTR and a stop. Tried the GTR with fuel saving and did fine on tires, but will place lower than if I stop.

I also know I’m not that good at the game. Just finally did a 2:06.5 something.

Youre within 3% of the fastest time, to me, that's hustling pretty well and a high B at least.

I’ve tried some more cars for race B.

R8: Too twitchy. Can’t drive it

Huracàn: Has oversteer that lasts for dayyys

SLS: Super stable, but too slow

Evo: super easy to drive, but too slow

WRX: relatively easy to drive, but too slow. The only one that got into 1:59’s though

All of them are tested with TCS off and various BB. Laps are usually around 2:00-2:01

I’ll do one last race for the night, in the RSR. Tomorrow, I’m trying the Aston, the Jag and the Lexus. The Aston, the Jag and the SLS is cars that I haven’t even tried before this week. So I guess it’s about time

I’m so close, I just keep taking ever so slightly to much of an inside corner here and there or the arse end kicks out on the final corner and I lose my speed. I feel like I’m right on the verdge or a great lap though.

3 to 4 beers seems to be the sweet spot for me. Beyond that, a slow decline sets in. I definitely have way more wins above .08 than below.

I’ve only done one race, I can’t consistently get through this corner without hitting the brakes, so no racing for me until I can. Optimal is down to 2:09.8 though, if only I could make it down that hill full throttle and finish it off.

I can't believe you can do so many laps in a row. After about 10, I need a break.

It was now or never to jump in on race c. Started in the five hole behind a 4c. Promptly passed him in t1. He should have defended his inside.
Now I’m in 4th behind a Lambo...
Lap 5 I’m on his bumper into the pit lane...Exiting the pit lane I am still on him...
I was almost able to complete an overtake in sector 1 but this guy had ice water in his veins...
I’m on him but he’s not making mistakes...
Lap nine I push hard but this guy is money!
I’m on his bumper into the chicane, but the Chevy doesn’t have the drive to pass...
He did collect a .6 penalty on lap 8 for a track cut which I kept him from burning.
Exiting the final corner he pulled aside and I swept into a podium finish! Nine laps...There was never more than .5 between us. What a fun race! Thank you ice water in the veins Lambo guy! We thanked each other after. What fun
this game can be when people are clean! You never know what may happen...I may have to switch fr cars. There’s another which is faster...I do like the heartbeat of America tho.

So just ran two race c, one with megane no stopping and one with Lamborghini with stop.

Won the megane race with a 19.48 race time, 2nd with lamo with 19.47.

One stopping is faster as megane race was perfect whilst lambo I was in fights for first 2 laps or so. BUT you need a lot to go your way to make a one stop work, need it super clean. It is more fun though.

I’ve found Yellow to be the fastest and Red the slowest, I had a brief stint with Silver but it didn’t last.

Yellow was the one to git’er done, 2:10.0!!

I wish I could say come race with me, which is what I'm doing now, but I'm still at B (Sarthe). The racing is a lot of fun. Stop qualifying and do it. 👍

TYVM, I was starting to believe I may not be able to do it but I managed to hold it together. Only 3 tenths left off my Optimal so I don’t think I’m gonna chase any more tonight. I really need to work on my B time and I haven’t done a single lap on C yet.

Firstly, Spacedustdaddy, I saw you at lunch time today. My Porsche is standard colour (haven't driven it actually), my Megane is a metallic bright green with some blue stuff down the sides and a silver bonnet. I stopped working on the Mégane because I have no respect for that car! I saw you today and you came fifth- edit - you came fourth, in the Lexus. You are vey clean by the way, a gentleman out there. . I got punted three times in that race!!! I came 7th, in the Porsche, not stopping. I lost the tow the first lap, and got my first punt. Then got a second - nicely into the fence at the end of the chicane, then in front of you, you're with a pack of three cars, second last lap. In the last lap, I got punt4d at the end of the main straight. The guy got a 4.4 second penalty I think. I got no penalty, except for being stuck in sand with no traction control!! 7th was pretty good I thought with three punt offs. But I lost 300 DR.

Theres's an art to knocking people off, and I think most thinks its part of the game, and if its a no stopping car, if you knock them off then its likely they won't catch you. Quite logical actually.

Neville, its not clean when your in fuel mode and people knock you off the track ... then you are with people who are faster, and they don't like you being there. And if you get a tow, they may not like that either.

I think I'll do 10 laps and lower my qualifying a bit, half a second might make all the difference.

People making unnecessary fights.. Especially if someone has a more than 2 second penalty. Give up the spot when you're in a battle, versus other players with no penalty. The last race in the McLaren was nuts with a couple players blocking and shoving. Made a charge to grab 6th from a semi-blocking TT. This Aston got tangled with another car and me and the TT passed on either side of it into the final hairpin. It then decides to smash me off line. Did it again further up. Then, again at the slow S bend. Enough! I pitted it into oblivion. I got a red dot at the finish, but no time added, no red dunce cap, no orange arrows.
After the race, I typed, "I race fair. Push me out the way, I push back." By that time, the perp was gone.

Anyway, if there is a player here named "briggsby", that's messed up how that player was gunning for you, when all you did was make a pass. I saw the whole thing.

Nice! Hopefully I can get consistent enough to get out there by tomorrow or Friday night to get in a few races with ya.

Wow that R8 is not even the same car now, it didn’t lift off oversteer on me once in 5 laps. I couldn’t even make it around a single lap at Interlagos with it before the update. I like it better than the Porsche now, it feels more responsive, but spins easier too. I see why it’s become so popular all of a sudden.

Just won another one with megane no stopping , you guys are missing a trick not using it.

Good night, 2 wins and a 2nd. Over 30000 dr points for first time.

Last three nights were great for DR, 6 wins and 3 podiums from 10 races. SR in 50s so making hay.

No more racing this week, my usual Friday through Sunday watching stuff with wife and tomorrow will be pretty woman for Valentine's day. Urrrrrrrgh the things we do eh.
