I'm sure you'll be bumping me down, at some point. 👍
@Oshawa-Joe is almost down to the :09s!
I'm a little disappointed that @suprajef hasn't shown up, to post an :08 or something crazy like that.

I actually picked up a few things from watching @Pigems video. I'm sure he'll get a 10 soon if he hasn't already.

Just leaving work. Might try a few laps when I get in.

Just checked. I guess he'll be running 9s soon lol.

Firstly, Spacedustdaddy, I saw you at lunch time today. My Porsche is standard colour (haven't driven it actually), my Megane is a metallic bright green with some blue stuff down the sides and a silver bonnet. I stopped working on the Mégane because I have no respect for that car! I saw you today and you came fifth- edit - you came fourth, in the Lexus. You are vey clean by the way, a gentleman out there. . I got punted three times in that race!!! I came 7th, in the Porsche, not stopping. I lost the tow the first lap, and got my first punt. Then got a second - nicely into the fence at the end of the chicane, then in front of you, you're with a pack of three cars, second last lap. In the last lap, I got punt4d at the end of the main straight. The guy got a 4.4 second penalty I think. I got no penalty, except for being stuck in sand with no traction control!! 7th was pretty good I thought with three punt offs. But I lost 300 DR.

Theres's an art to knocking people off, and I think most thinks its part of the game, and if its a no stopping car, if you knock them off then its likely they won't catch you. Quite logical actually.

Neville, its not clean when your in fuel mode and people knock you off the track ... then you are with people who are faster, and they don't like you being there. And if you get a tow, they may not like that either.

I think I'll do 10 laps and lower my qualifying a bit, half a second might make all the difference.
Another thing is, people don't allow the other player to gather the car right in front of them. If they just let off the throttle for a moment, there are more options. Save your DR, save your tyres, less risk of a penalty, less risk of going off with the other player, less risk of unwanted drama from retaliation and also not too much loss of pace to cars ahead and behind.

So, earlier in the morning I decided to qualify for Race B in the R8, clocking in at a 1:56.017, with the optimum of a 1:55.8xx

And on yesterday, I decided to send Friend Requests to 4 people, including @05XR8.

If anyone is wondering what my qualifying car looks like, here's the livery by yuyuko_0418, another one of the 4 that I sent an FR on yesterday.

Did my fastest time out of all my races so far, in that Evo: 2:07.142 I drove like a mad man after being brake checked at the final chicane. Got 3 seconds for the altercation.

Was being held up in the GT-R. I seriously don't think players look around. I mean, they could at least HEAR a car next to them. Quick and fast car. Made some sweet overtakes.

Only seven more cars to go: Peugeot, Porsche, both Renaults, Subaru, Toyota, VW

Just won another one with megane no stopping , you guys are missing a trick not using it.

Good night, 2 wins and a 2nd. Over 30000 dr points for first time.

Last three nights were great for DR, 6 wins and 3 podiums from 10 races. SR in 50s so making hay.

No more racing this week, my usual Friday through Sunday watching stuff with wife and tomorrow will be pretty woman for Valentine's day. Urrrrrrrgh the things we do eh.

Well done, you deserve it.

The low SR tactic which I suspect you are playing??? - it just proves to me that PD want people to crash into each other. You do risk being re-set though I suspect ... you are 55 I think SR, so take 26 off that ... you'd be 29. Not sure if that triggers a re-set or not. But I've copped a single 26 penalty in one single race.

I've had two more races, got a third and a fourth. The third should have been a second. I was a comfortable second with one lap to got, but I couldn't get rid of a chicane penalty. 0.755 seconds of penalty. I tried several times on straights to get rid of it. Then I slowed on the straight before the chicane - really the last straight of the race. It came down to 0.044 seconds - and then it stopped going down. So I lost a few seconds there. Off I went to the finish line, with 0.044 penalty ... I slowed after the chicane - nothing happened. Now the third car is coming. So I set off again ... I went round the corner and then I slowed right down b4 the finishing line. The third car is now onto the main straight. I put my foot down, but he beats me across the line. And I get a red dot, with a one second penalty! My SR stays though at 99. After basically stopping, the 0.044 was replaced by a whole 1.000 seconds. Weird.

When people bash into me I think hey - its just a game. But when the game plays dirty, that actually annoys me.

Anybody had that happen to them???

You’ll have me smoked in no time! I think my problem may have been trying to run Lesters lines from the beginning instead of working up to it, I think I made it harder on myself than need be. :)

I don't know, Red was plenty fast for me :D

Helluva Lap man!! I definitely won’t call Red slow any anymore. :D

Are you nutz? You are obviously certifiable! If you "let off the throttle a little" the pack behind you sees that as a sign of weakness and makes merry with your arse. Then you wind up in the sand, a wall, the grass, or some other unpleasant place that involves going nowhere fast .

I did the impossible. I overtook Lester and transcended into new levels.
... He passed me 3 seconds later..

"dood I almost had you!"

So here's my million dollar question for the day? How are you all so good with the R8 on Race B as I tried it this morning
and cannot break under 2:00 yet in the 911 I get under 2 min for best lap? Is that the difference with gear rations beetween
AT/MT?

Done!

When there are 19-20 cars on track, getting clear of traffic, is the name of the game. Crazy, crazy, dealing with slower cars at the back. When I see the qualy times at the start, 2:04/2:05.xxx from P1-P8, then 2:09-2:10 from P11-P18, I'm doing low 7's in the race. Some people just can't get out of their own way.

Well, these last races were interesting. In a nutshell: Hard racing, drafting, late braking, squeezing, traffic

The most I gathered from the last seven cars are, weaknesses. The Scirocco's weakness is its strength at corner entry. In order to have a strong exit, I have to wait for the car ahead to get on the gas. BY then, my advantage is lost and I have to rely on its top speed. I've caught cars ahead so quickly in the corners, it wasn't funny. Just frustrating.

The RCZ was another story. Not one point of contact the whole race and on the last corner, the player who I gave room on the inside, decides to bump me to take the spot. Why? Raced the whole race fair and square. I told him/her it wasn't needed. I left so much room.

Anyway, after all this, all the different drivetrain configurations, strengths, weaknesses. fun and frustration, there had to be a car that did it all for me.
That car is, the GT-R.

No hangups with it. It's stable, fast, has grip, sounds good, cockpit and roof/bonnet cam work fine, fuel and tyre wear were right, the car is easy to control. That's it.

Honorable mention goes to the WRX. It's a nimble ride. I don't use it, but it did what it did today. Easy to drive with a bit of looseness. Preferred it to the Evo actually.

27 cars. 27 races. Good night.

I was peeved last night so I didn't do Race C. I did do some qualifying laps with the Veyron and managed to beat my previous qualifying time for the week. I did some more laps, each time dropping the TC a notch to see if I could get it to turn in more betterer like the rexy. Didn't go all the way because I could see me spinning out on the exit to the chicane just before the last corner, especially as the tyres wear. I cut a hair off, but it didn't seem to be much different, so I left it on TC 1. I started P7/17 on a mostly DR/D grid from P6 down except for a DR/B. Above P6 was DR/B,C.

The race starts and the dash for crash into T1 sees me loose a position, then gain it again at the next corner. The Veyron is a bit of a freight train once it gets moving, so I frustrated a few of the faster cornering drivers by not giving them the corner then pulling away on exit. I had some pretty close racing up till lap 5. My tyres were unhappy and the understeer was giving me a headache, so I pitted... along with a bunch of others.

I gained 2 places coming into the pits, but lost 3 on exit because I took on 1/2 a lap more fuel than I needed. I was racing pretty close to the car that came out ahead of me. Then the Australian behind me started hounding me at every corner but couldn't get through. He bumped me a few times. Eventualy he was able to make a clean pass and I watched the two in front battle. It felt like I was crawling around every corner .

Last lap I had caught up to the car in front, the car that was in front of me coming out of the pits. I had a better shot at the final chicane, but knocked him at the entry. I pulled across to the outside and slowed to let him get position back, then followed behind. He pulled across to the inside to burn off a penalty, I stayed on the outside to burn off my penalty. He was better at it and crossed about 1/2 a length in front. I apologised at the end of the race for knocking him. :scared: Finished P8. There were a lot of red dots but all blue SR as far as I could tell...including me .

SR back to 99, DR up 300+ . All in all not a bad finish :dopey:. Another day above DR 1:D.

Nah not intentional, just incidental contact keeping my SR low. Like yesterday, I am passed by a Mustang as i was vulnerable on straights in the Megane Trophy, he then makes a tiny error and I NAIL my exit perfectly and get a run on him, by the braking point I am no further up than his C-Pillar but i am there on the inside line, he's on the outside. He brakes, i brake and he turns in, we have the SLIGHTEST touch and he's off the track, bang i cop 4 seconds. I really did not do anything wrong and i suspect he just did not see me but that must have cost me 10SR points.

Did a few races in the honda last night and one so far this morning, since i finally have a lap time a can accept. I have yet to finnish without spinning. I hate this car soooooo much

Next race was going well. Started 4 up to 2 by end of lap 1. Holdi g my own and challenging the leader till mid lap 3. Then a f'ing disconnect.... honestly don't remember the last time if ever that i got dropped mid race.

Edit 2. Tried a few more races. And i keep losing the car. The aggravating part is that i am losing it in different places than when i push to hard in practice. I just can't drive this stupid thing i guess. Maybe I'll try again on the weekend but for now i am just getting pissed off.....

I wish people would race clean, this guy had an A+/S rating...
I passed him next lap, but it still doesn't excuse it.

Hey guys!

I had a lot of runs at the Daily B race, the track and the category is a great combo. I collected the two best races in a video!
In the first one, I had a fight that can be a good example for clean races, both of us left enough room for the other and still did it on maximum attack.
The second one wasn't worse anyway, what is more, an FIA finalist showed up and had an insane battle for the win.
Enjoy!

I did the impossible. I overtook Lester and transcended into new levels.
How dare you? I hope you apologized, afterwards. :guilty:

sorry @sturk0167 , ran a 2:10.709 last night. :) maybe i have a low 2:10 in me afterall.
Nice job! I hope you can get to :09. I don't really want to qualify anymore, because as things stand now, I'll have a good starting spot in the race. But, I am going to more Q laps today, because I was hoping to finish the week in the top 50. It's rare for me. I know when a combo works for me, and when it doesn't. For instance, B & C this week, I'd have zero chance.

When people bash into me I think hey - its just a game. But when the game plays dirty, that actually annoys me.

Anybody had that happen to them???
Everybody has.
My example: Last night, Race C, I did not initiate a single contact. I am the only one with SR red (down by 8), while
The French Rammer who punted 3 people etc. got a blue SR.
and The British Squeezer who lunged me twice also got blue SR
If this video editing was not such a mess, I would post it... have to do some time lapse, really, who wants to see a 20min vid where I get undeserved SR- 5 times at unknown times !?

Isn't it strange how that works? I'm struggling this week, but I also haven't done much driving. The weekend is when I usually have a couple of hours to put in. I did finally post a very non-clean lap in the A race. a 15.something. First time I made it through the esses without loosing it, but I did slow and use the brakes through the middle.
I've never finished top 50, but did get top 100 with the Fiat 500. Usually, with the amount of time I have, I can easily finish top 500, and if it's a combo that clicks, 2-300. Most of the time I feel like I could get to the top 100 with time and laps, but I don't have enough of either. I seem to do better on tracks with exact limits and no curbs to deal with. Tokyo and Big Willow come to mind. You know exactly how far you can go, no question. I also like certain cars/car layouts. If a FF car is faster somewhere, I won't be fast there because I won't drive it usually.

Hey, guess what I learned, last night? The gear called R does not mean Race. Who designed this thing?
No clue what happened here. I didn't touch the shifter, and I didn't look at my gear setting, because it always just starts in first, right? I'll be checking it from now on.
I ended up doing a Sven-style race, and still had fun making my way up to third.

That's hilarious, it's happened to me once before with the game deciding to start me in reverse. Of course I didn't check either until I'm going the wrong way. I mean why would you?!

I'm pleased to say my reversing off the startline caused much more chaos than yours did. Sadly no replay though.

Ha ha. Glad it's not just me. I'm just thankful that my car ghosted, otherwise it could have been really messy.

Not the car. The track direction. I think.

Some may remember it but it was a pretty smooth flowing track/car combo the other way. In reverse some spots are dangerous. Gravity is the enemy. I spent two days trying to practice recovering when the car gets away. But it's impossible. You either thread the needle or miss and crash in some spots.

Practiced this morning and felt good, had a race this morning. Started 2nd. Finished 2nd. Took a bit of a break. Was about to enter a 2nd race but kept crashing in practice so decided not to. It's a tricky track.
