Good evening.
I was able to make time for another try at race c. Beginning in eight I was the last car in the pack leaving the drivers behind. The fella in seventh is in a 4c...He is from another country to the south (not Brazil!)
I am able to overtake him about lap 2.5. It was a nice clean move on a straight after he made a mistake exiting onto the back straight.
It was no matter I was making at least a second a lap on him, but lap 3 I am catching a cayman who runs wide at the chicane and is somehow coming from right to left directly across in front of me...
So I brake to avoid the mess, but this gives the 4c hope and he’s closing fast onto the right hander onto the main straight...He apparently could not contain his emotions and dove in T1 into a sideswipe pass.

I come out ahead and overtake a no stopping trophy easily and finish 7th, even with all the nonsense from the dirty guy...
I was only 12 seconds back in this room at the end. EVERY PLAYER finished red dot style. No more for me thanks!
I checked his record and just as suspected first Time fo him in s 99. You gotta think, I’m driving a 4c, is it wise to play bumper cars with a vette? Lol
The fact is if you step outta line in the wrong room you get served. I don’t see this type much, but I can always tell what the safety rating record is before even looking...Great part was I finished 99 and he finished 82 on the sr.

Goodnight.

yeh will the problem can be that if you get in a roller derby, your rating can dive ... he may have been 99 before he went crazy against you.

I'ver been mostly 99 for some time but went to 71, the classic 28 point drop, in one race "C", in just the one race. 2nd lap I lap I was sitting pretty in the Trophy in 3rd and seeing the two cars in front were sprinting away. I looked at my fuel and thought I might need to start saving more. Next lap a pack was onto me, and at turn 1, some guy dive bombs past me into the sand; another comes up inside me, and there's three others on my tail. I put my foot down and got a small break - but they soon calmed themselves down and focused on catching me I reckoned. So they caught me. I got knocked in corners 1, 2 and 3. And again in 5. Then booted right out off the circuit in 7. One survived all that mayhem and booted me out at the next corner 3 ... coming back onto the track i got hit again and copped a 4 second penalty (maybe for going off the track). I slowed to rid the penalty and another old pack caught me up after their pit stop. The goings off and penalty slow downs had lost my non pitstop advantage. Lost heaps of points both DR and SR. I reckon if you can get away from the front, awesome, but if they catch you, well then your in all sorts of trouble.

Maybe I'll get an easier race and all will be forgotten ..

Wish there was a car that could sprint or be a long non top choice. Maybe the Hurrican can do that "both choice's available" , not sure what others cars can, at least in my old hands.

I was thinking no stopping might be a bad idea because people are so impatient. Tbh very rare I drive an mr, I feel secure in a bigger heavier car in these onlines. My goal is never get overtaken on a straight of any length.
Usually I remain calm, but it was clear this guy had bad intent and the back of the room was all slow, so I knew I wasn’t gonna get caught from ninth and I saw red...rarely happens for me...
I noticed the AMG turns in nicely, so does the Stang...I’m pretty much a one trick pony in gr3 and 4 though with Chevy. Mr feels fast, but for me it’s always slow so I keep going with what I know best...I haven’t tried Maggiore this week. It seems to me if you can get the heavy cars to turn in, they are advantageous.
The bottom line for me is at high B I don’t think there’s many true meta cars.

Oh my god, I was ahead of that Argentinian dude that I was talking about before, and beat him, badly through the chicane, and was gaining time up the hill, then "disconnect due to data loss". I also lost 1500 DR because of it. Damn it. P.O.S.

That's a ridiculous time from the race winner.
Yeah, something like .5 seconds a sector when tyre wear kicked in. I also lost 4 seconds, on my last lap, to that Cayman.

Well, found me one of them thar "unicorns"...

Respect: Lap 2

So I am just a little bit frustrated today because I've learnt I'm clearly missing a trick with Race A - Honda Beat around Kyoto
Yamagiawa II.

I finally got my DR up to 3840 by bedtime yesterday (14th) and was thinking too myself that I'd finally get the duck into DR C by doing
"one more race"

So I decided to do Race A and as I was expecting I was matched with A/B rated drivers.

What became apparent in that race is that I have still not completed mastered the art of carrying speed through corners as the other
drivers were so much faster than me and I looked completely clumsy going through the chicane section each time.

I finally twigged that carry through speed is important in the corners and I am able to do that but clearly need to work on my lines.

My question I guess for today is that I am sitting on 2989 DR and don't really want to go any further backwards so should I switch to
Race B/C on the thinking that if I get a good result or improve places it's more likely to promote me up to DR C. Thoughts anyone?

I'm fine with race C....slow and controllable cars, wide roads

Not liking this penalty thing at all. People getting out of shape, hit me, then I get 3 seconds. '
EDit: Watched the replay, The Porsche outbrakes itself at T1, hits the grass, keeps accelerating, re-enters the next hairpin, t-bones me and bounces back onto the grass. \

I also sense players are deliberately side tapping to give me an orange arrow. Not even trying to bump me off or upset my car, but slight tapping. It was being done to me in Race C as well. I didn't bleed any time and its costing me two places.

Race C is just did practice laps and was doing 2:08’s and except for a minor slip on the lap lap would have been in the 2:07’s. (In the Mégane). It’s growing on me. Just in time for the race to change.

First race of the day, started third behind a Lambo and Mégane, ended third behind the Mégane and Lambo. Eight seconds back. Other than a very slow room on previous weeks that might be my best finish. I could get used to podium finishes. Might be normal for most of you guys but new to me.

I wish I understood the number changes in the car. My car # is 351 for my name here, but I start third and the number is say 12 (was 12 this race, 14 total racers). I think last night it was something like 15 when there was 20 racers. Anyone know the rhyme or reason?

Jump in the cockpit and start up the engine. remove all the wheel blocks, there's no time to waste! Gathering speed as we head down the start/finish strait, @Pigems has to get airborne before it's too late.....And the Madness continues! Race C. I jumped in with only 6 mins left on the count down to doom, so I went with the "safe choice" with enough time for two laps before the race. The Renault (trophy, not the GT-R). I started on the grid P6/15 on a mostly DR/D grid.

I got through the first corner ok, and realy had to be patient because i was right up the tail pipe of the cars in front. The cornering ability of the trophy made the others seem like they were crawling. Then we hit the straits and I started short shifting... and they started pulling away. For the first lap I found myself waving good by to them on the straits and then right on them again when we get to the curvy stuff. I got knocked of twice.

About lap 5 most pitted and I went up to P3.. which dropped to 4 when someone exited the pit. I hung on till I was pushed aside and again into the sand. I picked up a 2s penalty and kept on going, having dropped back to P8. I made the mistake of burning off the penalty on the start/finish strait and didn't do it cleverly enough. The guy behind was 4s behind but I couldn't accelerate quickly enough after loosing the penalty .. P9 for me . With short shifting I finished a no-stop with 0.3 laps of fuel left. The tyres were fine, even with my driving :sly:.

SR blue, DR dropped another 100. Another day above DR 1 .

I was thinking no stopping might be a bad idea because people are so impatient.

No stopping is like two races:
Race 1 - get a great start; get behind someone if you're not leading and try to hang on; shift early when you can while maintaining close contact; when you loose close contact, start short shifting whenever you can; when short shifting pay a lot of attention to your mirrors; pay attention to tyre wear saving techniques
Race 2 - Happens after lap 5 normally when in front of you or around you pit.

Son of a 🤬. Just started in reverse, again. Wtf?

Fun racing on the same track with you last night. I doubt you noticed me getting dive bomb nudged and wiped out by some maniac in the back. He nudged me twice. The first time I was able to Tokyo Drift it out and stay ahead. The second time his nudge induced my car to badly whip back into the wall.

At least I was able to catch up in time to see him get DQ'd after tussling with another driver. From 4th to 12th and then finishing in 10th or 9th. What an emotional rollercoaster.

I can’t wait for 4pm today, it’s a long weekend and my Sons’s gone away to camp all weekend so I’ve got full run at both profiles all weekend. Gonna pick up an 8 pack of RedBull on the way home today and race till I can’t keep my eyes open any more!! It’s gonna be a good weekend. :D

I'll be at wok till 10 or so my time tonight and am gonna need to work tomorrow. I might try that damn honda again though. I it really bothering me that i can't solve it. Maybe taking a day off from it yesteday will have helped. Hope to see some of you on the track tonight if i do

Drives me nuts when I get hit with down SR. On race C, coming into the long straight I have faster people passing me. I stay as far right as I can without being on the grass. One guy goes half past me and swerves over and hits me. And I get the down SR. What the hell. Guess we are supposed to stop or go onto the grass? Grrrrrrrrr

Update: just managed my second win with a 19:35. I’ll take it!

With that crappy car, it only takes a light contact to totally knock it out of shape. I had a couple of drivers help me off the track yesterday. Really hard to save it, once it starts sliding. Once was my fault for trying to go two-wide through the twisty downhill section. I was managing it ok, but the other guy got loose, made contact, and I hit the wall really hard. :banghead: My artificial driver probably should've died in that wreck. I guess I won't try that, again. :ouch::lol:

The game predicts what place you'll finish, amongst the players, in that race.

Door numbers are in order of DR points for the people in the race are they not? Highest points gets #1 and lowest points gets the last number I believe.
Is it then, you get more points for finishing ahead of a player with the #1?

You do if he had more DR points then you do, that’s how the whole system works. I don’t think the door number thing is 100% accurate, but it’s basically how it works, there are some things that can scew the numbers though if I remember correctly, I can’t remember what they are though. I believe you get about 80 points for beating an equal skilled/ DR points driver and then it flucuates up/down from there if they have more/less dr points than you. @Sven Jurgens knows much more about this than I do though, I’m just trying to remember what I’ve seen him post in the past. :)

I’ve litteraly gotten 30-40 DR points for a win before when I was the only A driver in the room and lost hundreds of points for 2nd place finishes lots of times. :)

That's what I used to think. But I had races yesterday, where I was the only A driver, and everyone else was B and lower, and my door number was 3 or 4.

Sven has explained the door # many times. I'll try to save him doing it again.

In short, the door # the computer assigns is the highest chance to gain points.

In rooms where there are only cars DR B and higher or DR C and lower the door # is assigned normally.

But in races where DR ranges vary. DR C/D/E (aka under 10,000pts) have an advantage so if they are in a good position, they will get the #1/or higher number. DR A+/A/B (aka over 10,000 points) against lower ranks puts them in a position where they can lose points, the computer figures the chances to gain points is lower and assigns a lower #.

The door numbering thing does bug out sometimes. I forget exactly what causes it but something to do with mixed DR grids. I know I've been in races with #1 on my door when I was DEFINITELY not the highest rated player.

It's only a guide to your seeding so it doesn't matter if its not right though.

I remember Sven saying something like if there are D and E drivers mixed in with A and B drivers it messes up the door number thing, but I can’t remember exactly what it was that he said lol.
