View attachment 799600 My best ever qualifying position. This is my first time under 2000th, and I'm well under.

Granted, I'm going to drop down the order over the next couple of days. But yano, yay!

I really must get back to practicing with the wheel, though . .

Where is this? Curious how Mr Amateur (me) stacks up in race C.

By the way, I’ve been limping around all day. Right big toe hurts like I broke it. Couldn’t figure out why until I started racing in the Megane and stomped on the brakes. So I’m easier on the brakes tonight and you know what? Seems to stop quicker. Who knew? (Besides everyone).

The penalties count upwards. 0,001 second at the finish counts as 1 second. The same with 0,999. It counts as 1 second. 1,001 seconds counts as 2 seconds. And so on. It’s stupid. They should add the penalties ones that are in the FIA-races
I don't know why they can't give us our actual penalty time. Having them rounded up is stupid, because it makes the penalty seem worse than what it is.

I actually had to find something to put on my feet after getting my new wheel, the pedals had metal faces and stronger springs and socked feet was leaving my feet sore. Racing shoes were quite pricey so I found a pair of swimming shoes at Walmart for $9, mesh top, super thin sole and rounded heel, they work great and my feet are happy once again. :)

She definitely takes some getting used to, that’s for sure. You’ll be running 08’s by tomorrow though, I’m sure of it. :)

What part is giving you the most grief?
Turning for it, maybe you can help me on this one. And I doubt I will be fast.

Son of a 🤬. Just started in reverse, again. Wtf?

Are you holding your controller the right way up? :dunce:

PD likes people braking for the finish line to scrub penalties and get rammed by cars trying to draft them. Spectacle is all that counts!

I’d be more than happy to help in any way I can man. What exactly do you mean when you say turning? Like how to get it stay in line during turning?

Edit: Tuning, My bad, stoner Moment. I was using no DA’s and I ended up setting my best time with BB at 0, but I spent a lot of time getting used to the car on +5 and +3. It’s a real bugger to keep the car in line while turning with any kind of speed, you pretty near have to run it like a really powerful car and be super easy getting back onto the throttle, any little break in traction is costly in most cases. Plus you pretty much have to be in constant correction mode while turning, she could squirt out at any time it seems. :)

The problem I have with this car is handling, turn in to a corner is very miniscule right now. It will take practice for me

But in Oz we don't have Walmart. I use socks but found shoes are much the same, but somehow, its a brain thing. My brake pedal is stiff too.

Ah ok, so you did mean turning, my bad again, 0 for 2 lol. High speed or low speed turns? The high speed turns I struggled with a lot and still do honestly, I still can’t run 5 straight laps at speed without a pretty big mess up on the back hill. The steering inputs have to be so small and gradual or the car just shoots out from under you, that seems to be the trick for it though if you can master it, just really small movements of the wheel and being very quick to correct the squirt without jerking the wheel, that’s my big fault right now, I overcorrect and end up shooting the car the other way.

Low speed it seems like one needs to needs to brake hard at first then trail off fairly hard(to drive the outside tires into the ground for more turning power) into the Apex while downshifting very late to 2nd just before the Apex. Once around you can hit full throttle and really drive the outside tires in good because the suspension is so soft, but it’s tricky to keep in in line while doing so. I watched Lesters lap like a dozen times, he’s got this car/track Mastered it seems. I’ve been trying to mimic his lap all week. :)

The chicanes are just plain hard, again there I tried to take Lesters lines as best I could, staying in 4th for t2, stay in 4th for the next chicane at the bottom of the hill unless you slow down to much and then dropping to 3rd doesn’t hurt to bad coming out of the chicane to go up the hill. But going through the chicane stay a little on the brake and a little on the throttle, it seems to help keep the car more stable than being in just on or the other, just trail brake into the first part at the bottom of the hill and then one little shot of hard braking before you cut the wheel to the left, then a little brake and a little throttle till you round the last corner to go up the hill. The final Esses/chicane Down the hill is the “Death Zone” for me, it’s the absolute hardest part for me, the steering inputs have to be so small and precise to make it down the hill at full throttle, but it can definitely be done. :)

Only other thing I can think of is late apex’s to carry to maximum speed out of corners. Sorry, I didn’t mean for this to get so long, hopefully at least some of it will be helpful in some way. :)

I’m wearing New Balance shoes. Need some with harder soles. I think using more touch and less pressure is working better anyway, so probably was a good problem to have. Certainly has to be better for my pedal sets lifespan!

Not a good first run, spun out once by a guy who spun out in front of me, but the next two were on me. I got timed out for the first time and didn’t get to finish the race 3 feet before the finish line.

Next outing went a little better, stil got spun out once but managed to get back up to 3rd from 9th after getting spun out and got FL. I went to +3 BB for this race. Onto the next one now. :)

Slowly making improvents, no spin outs in that race, even got a CRB, BB at +3 for racing is a good thing. :)

Someone was asking the other day about the best time of day to get the lightest competition. It damn sure isn't in the evenings. I'm at # 32 in the Americas region and I just started race A in the 5th position. :scared:

Someone’s back up to high 90’s SR. :)

Edit: This one was close, I closed a 2.5s gap on the leader in the final lap to .3 at the finish line, I could have had him but I tapped the brake on the back hill to make sure I didn’t lose it lol. Best run so far. :)

I didn’t make it through the pack quick enough in this one to have any real chance at the leader on the final lap(last race I was up to 5th by T2 lol), he had 9 seconds on me, but I’ll take 2nd all day from the back. Calling it a night and going out on a good note. :)

Did Race C after qualifying. Set a 2:06.230. STarted 6th. DOn't even think it was worth qualifying after all that headache.
THought I's have a clean race. Nope! Rear ended at T1. I then bump the car ahead of me. It goes flying and I get 3 seconds. Gather myself and raced an Evo and Slophy for a couple laps.
I get another .4 seconds for short cutting the chicane. Bled that off bit by bit, coasting in the draft of the two cars ahead.

I'm in 2nd place, pit end of lap4. Followed by a trio of cars. I come out ahead and into 7th. WE catch a Cayman. Its tyres were GONE. So slow and stayig in the apex. I couldn't go any slower, literally, as cars behind were like a coal train. Trying the SLophy for the next race. Starting 6th again.
Edit starting 5th.

I love it when I tell a guy congratulations or good race and they basically tell me to screw off, not knowing that I'm have no problem at all with dropping my SR. There's a dude that I'm really hoping is in the next race. Can't wait. :irked:

Edit: Ha ha. Now I remember who this guy is. He's the same guy who was telling all the race winners to get lost and go to bed, when we were doing the Shelby races at Willow. I had a chance to dump him in the last race and I eased up. He's a clown from a South Country that begins with an a.

Good evening.
I was able to make time for another try at race c. Beginning in eight I was the last car in the pack leaving the drivers behind. The fella in seventh is in a 4c...He is from another country to the south (not Brazil!)
I am able to overtake him about lap 2.5. It was a nice clean move on a straight after he made a mistake exiting onto the back straight.
It was no matter I was making at least a second a lap on him, but lap 3 I am catching a cayman who runs wide at the chicane and is somehow coming from right to left directly across in front of me...
So I brake to avoid the mess, but this gives the 4c hope and he’s closing fast onto the right hander onto the main straight...He apparently could not contain his emotions and dove in T1 into a sideswipe pass.
Luckily I drive a Chevy and little things like that barely hold me back...I am able to stick my nose into his apex in short order and get by him...
Problem was, in so doing I messed up my corner onto the straight and he’s in my slip, although he’s still back due to the 4c lacking balls he late brakes and sideswipes me, but I was ready and ran inside him on exit, next corner he tries to rear quarter panel me but again, I drive Chevy, and although it slowed me, I was on him again and we tangled again.
This was the most contact I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever.
Anyhow I may have tried to upset his little wagon in sector 1 and missed him by a hair...
I was on his bumper lap five and we both pit...
I come out ahead and overtake a no stopping trophy easily and finish 7th, even with all the nonsense from the dirty guy...
I was only 12 seconds back in this room at the end. EVERY PLAYER finished red dot style. No more for me thanks!
I checked his record and just as suspected first Time fo him in s 99. You gotta think, I’m driving a 4c, is it wise to play bumper cars with a vette? Lol
The fact is if you step outta line in the wrong room you get served. I don’t see this type much, but I can always tell what the safety rating record is before even looking...Great part was I finished 99 and he finished 82 on the sr.

Goodnight.
