I'm looking forward to racing there. The one that always seems to get me is when you're following someone through the bus stop that hits the wall and doesn't ghost by the time you get to them. :banghead:

I've hit plenty ghosts there as well. Hopefully that's fixed yet I doubt it as I've hit ghosts on race B as well this week. They're not ghosts, they just drive with see through liveries!

What races are you guys running tonight? I’m thinking about dipping my toe into Race B, I can’t decide on R8 or Porsche though.

I think I'm gonna start doing time trials with Gr.4 cars at DT Seaside. It's the race I'm most looking forward, next week. What I really like about time trial mode, is that it keeps track of your times with each car, so after you try a bunch of different cars, it's clear which ones are gonna be worth using on that track, and which ones are not.

My qualifying session will be much shorter, next week. This week, I way over did it, to the point that I didn't even feel like doing the race.

Anymore tips on how to do this? I tried this to times. First time I had to refuel because I was at .4 on the 8th lap. Second time I tried to no stop and ran out of fuel on the final lap on the straight before the final chicane. I started in 15th place but was in 3rd just before I ran out of fuel.

Absolutely!

You have to shift pretty early for the first half of the race, and draft as much as possible. Even just being behind a car thru most of the track while short shifting can help stretch your fuel out. But don't follow too close! It's easy to get bit by early brakers and end up with a whole lot of SR down. Drive smoothly and conserve tires. I typically shift right when the hud display shows red (far left of the bar). You still have to turn 2:08's while conserving and everyone will pit on lap 5,6. I usually keep the radar on the whole race but every time I cross the start finish line I flip it to the fuel and check what I've got left. I run fuel map 1 the whole race. As the race progresses you have to gauge your shift points by how much fuel you have left. You can stretch the gears out a bit near the end if you have the fuel for it.

Hope that helps!

Race B, the other two put me to sleep

Racecraft has gone downhill, late afternoon racing is messy. The problem lies more with matchmaking and my low DR (16K) I keep getting into mainly C/D rooms with a couple B. Which is good to gain positions, not for keeping pace, especially not with 1 bar connections in the pack. Every race seems to have at least 1 this afternoon.

I’m about to start a Race A, I’ll switch over to B after this one. Hope to see you out there.

Edit: Started 2nd and finished 2nd, one small mess up dropped me back to 3rd on lap one but I came back and even got FL for the race. Off to race B now with @Sven Jurgens :)

Second win in Sport Mode on the Maggiore Daily Race B with the 458 Italia. Got pole position largely due to @Baron Blitz Red pushing me like crazy for qualifying times. Got challenged by a Genesis on the first lap but he overcooked the banked corner and crashed, so it was a pretty easy win. I don't think the 458 is nearly as bad as people say (especially since the latest physics patch). You just need to make sure you're braking straight and watching the weight transfer.

Race B is fun, just because it's the only fast one available this week. Good track to experiment with MT, still not sure what the best time to shift is. For example a lot of cars seem to have the best acceleration while the indicator is already flashing, yet while going up hill or cornering it might slowly creep up giving you a lot of time when to shift. In the left right after the roller coaster hairpin the 911 gets up 190 kph in the left hander. You can still pull through to 202 in 3rd. Do you let it creep up closer to 200 or shift to 4th and start pulling through from 190.

This of course differs per car. If you go to the car settings page and hover over one of the buttons at the top (I'm not sure which one off the top of my head, but it's around where you can edit power/weight (if there were no BoP ofc)), a graph pops up on the top right corner of your screen. This graph shows you the amount of bhp generated versus the amount of rpm. Studying this (where the peak is and how steep the drop-off after) should give you an indication of how early/late to shift. Specifically, how long you should overextend after the peak before you start losing out.

Alternatively, watch what the top 10 guys do in your car of choice. They usually get it right :)

Tried to do a Race B, room loaded up, warm up concluded and then bam, everyone but 2 got disconnected for some reason. I haven’t seen that happen before, I’m taking it as a sign and going back to Race A lol, that was a pretty fast room, I doubt I would have made it out of DFL. :)

@Pigems
Man, those cars (911 and r8) are sketchy to drive. I’m curious how you do. I’ve been trying for a few hours to best my Chevy time with an mr and cannot.
The rs01 seems really good in the first part, but for some reason seems like bogs down second half of track for me. The r8 smokes it for me...
The r8. Is good, but very hard to hold that razors edge of handling. I can’t imagine using it in race...Pretty risky...I’m so curious how you might do if you tried either stang, merc, m6 bmw, or Chevy with tcs on...
I’m done messing with r8. I’m gonna mess with the merc a bit. Trying to crack into the 57 range is a challenge for sure...

It does come with the benefit of certain female body parts, however.
That’s true. It’s always good to have a couple of extra arms to do cleaning, cooking and other boring stuff at home:lol: ;)

Tried a few more laps on Race B. I switched from the G27-pedals to the pedals that came with the G29 on Friday...which was dumb. I’m so used to have the same resistance through the entire travel of the brake pedal, that I’ve gone wide into T5 more times that I want to remember. I seem to stop pushing the pedal when it gets stiffer :banghead:...and that’s about 50% braking force :banghead:
But, I’ve just managed to shave off 24 hundredths more. Currently sitting at 1:58,130. The sessions optimal lap is 57,7xx.
I would like to/should do some races as well, but those 130 1000’s of a second is mocking me:lol:

I never said I drove them well!

I think I’ve got a 58.7 in the Porsche and a 58.9 in the R8, I’d have been starting near the back of the pack in the race I got booted from. There’s a ton more time there’s but I’m not very good on the track, I’ve spent all week running the Honda. :)

3rd in the last one, odd to see an A+ Driver starting mid pack. Good race and I nearly kept up with the two fast guys in front of me while the field fell 3+ seconds back. :)

Turn 4 Maggiore GP just seems so awkward to me. I’ve driven a million miles on that track and I just never feel like I’m hitting it well.
That track is pissing me off in general. I just feel like except for a couple corners I’m always searching for a better line...
Damn you PD!

Yeah, I’m very leery of racing Maggiore in general, it just seems like everyone smokes me there...

Time to do some Race Bs after missing out of the FIA races due to stomach ache...

03:50 Room
Car: Renault Sport R.S.01 GT3 '16 "Patchouli"
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 1st
Total Race Time: 7:53.662

This race is where I got overtaken by an RSR on L1 T4, but then on Lap 2, he fell to his own overdefense and outbrakes himself into the wall. A comfortable victory for this one.

The following races are where I used the Peugeot RCZ Gr.3 "Flawless Tidgney"

05:10 Room
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 2nd
Total Race Time: 7:53.xxx (+00.955 to the winner)

Overtaken by the RSR on L1 T8 and couldn't pass him back at this point...

05:30 Room
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 2nd
Total Race Time: 7:53.xxx (+00.955 to the winner)

I was actually winning until on Lap 3 where I got a 2.8 second penalty. Couldn't serve it fast enough...

05:50 Room
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 1st
Total Race Time: 7:53.140

Finally, the Flawless Pug won! The race was extremely intense, with me, an R8 and that RSR all fighting for a seat in the victory step of the podium. Dad attempted me to distract me with a video of a tractor drifting, which made me angry, but was able to recover my focus to the battle and finally winning the race!

06:10 Room
Car: Porsche 911 RSR '17 "Ro-500"
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 1st
Total Race Time: 7:50.080

The guy who used the R8 in the 05:50 race used the Huracán here. But then he is still learning the car, which is why he was a bit abysmal with the car, to which it ended up creating a 4 second gap that lasts till the end.

I'm signed up for the 7:10 pm race, hopefully not a mass disconnect.

A+ to B room, not the fastest I've seen yet plenty fast, 4 dumped on loading, 12 made it in. Me in 12th of course.

Too much lag, 2 one bar connections in that race and a lot of yellow. 3rd lap I'm in 7th, sandwiched between two yellow connections. The one in front of me lag stalls in T2, the one behind me lags forward into me, result I end up turned around, race over. I finished 11th.

Next attempt, hopefully less lag!

I’m starting to really hate this so called penalty system.
I start at P10. At T4, P8 get loose and goes left in a right hand corner, P9 instabrakes and I touch his rear bumper. Touched! P8 goes way off and P11 overtakes both me and the former P9. My reward for trying to avoid contact is an orange Sr-arrow and a 3 second penalty.
Lap 4. T2. I’m 13th out of 14. P14 goes on the inside of me, we bumped into each other and I get another orange Sr-arrow. Finished the race last, and is now down to Sr A:nervous:🤬:banghead:🤬

Finished 3rd in the next race, same two guys ahead of me to start and again couldn’t catch them. Mr A+ starting 10th this time but made it up to 4th, he’s got to be hemorrhaging DR at this rate, he’s a brave soul! :)

I remember this being discussed before, but I don't remember the conclusion. Can you race with 2 user names, without paying double the annual fee to Sony?

Apparently so, but both the accounts I use have there own PS+ Membership so I can’t cornfirm.

Yes, as long as you do it on your primary ps4. You can make as many psn accounts as you like and they can all mooch off your ps+ account as long as you play on a ps4 that's set as your primary device.

(My kids play on my primary, base ps4, using my ps+ acctount. I play on the pro so I can't use alt accounts)

Last race: started P5, got a few orange arrows from being rear ended. Dropped to P7. P8 pushed me wide into the left wall by the last split. He got 3 second penalty:D I followed him for half a lap before passing him. I spent the last 2 laps fighting for 5th with a danish guy. At the wall-like hairpin, P3 and P4 went off. Ended up on 3 rd place, gaining Dr, but loosing another 3 Sr to 76:censored: Sinking more and more.
Just one more race of this 🤬 before bedtime

Edit: and just as I post, I lose my P6 on the grid because of a DC:censored:. Time to sleep I guess 🤬

My qualifying session will be much shorter, next week. This week, I way over did it, to the point that I didn't even feel like doing the race.

Stop qualifying and start racing man! I don't have time to stuff around trying to get that "perfect lap" and the more time I spend qualifying, the more mistakes I make. 3 or 4 laps till I'm satisfied that I'm able to make it round without coming off the track. One more to try and set the best time I can without spinning my wheels getting no where and it's go time!

That's good news, Sven. I only have 1 PS4, and 1 TV. Thanks

I gave up the fight with my kids, had to buy my own own ps4 :/

Second race went better, finished 9th in a full room. There was a lot of banging, 9 red ratings, 2 drops to A and 1 rage quit. I escaped with blue despite getting bumped 5 times. Dirty hour should be over soon, however it's Saturday so drunk hour is starting any moment
