Race C Ridiculousness. Start 3rd. Get smashed by an out of control Cayman in 4th. Carnage for the next 5 corners. Get punted and shuffled all the way down to last(11th).

Short shift and stay about 1-1.5 seconds behind the NSX in 10th. Lap 5, pit with 56% fuel left.

Emerge 8th, push a little to extend my gap to the car behind. Remaining cars, except the Caymans, pit. I move up to 4th. Caught the tail of a TT, but it pulls away to 4 seconds at the finish.

Chap that punted me, types "Sorry". I leave the room in disgust.

Stop qualifying and start racing man! I don't have time to stuff around trying to get that "perfect lap" and the more time I spend qualifying, the more mistakes I make. 3 or 4 laps till I'm satisfied that I'm able to make it round without coming off the track. One more to try and set the best time I can without spinning my wheels getting no where and it's go time!
You're right. 👍

Started on pole in the next race and got passed on lap 2, the death zone got me on lap 3 trying to go wide open to catch 1st, finished 3rd. Onto the next one. :)

Edit: Pole to 2nd in the next race, lost to the same guy again. I think the Lefty’s have kicked in because I’ve barely running 12’s right now lol. Oh well, it’s still fun. :)

I give up worrying about my driver rating. I took a break from online racing.. finally got back only to be repeatedly bumped from the rear and put off course, resulting in a 3sec penalty on ME. The other drivers aren't receiving penalties from what I can see. I'm carrying speed and on the racing line, these guys are just being seriously aggressive. My rating has dropped due to this and I end up placing an extra spot or two down from where I finish.
If I don't qualify pole and get stuck with other drivers, I'm done for. There is no making my way out cleanly. You would think I was driving with a bunch of beginners. But, if they are receiving no penalties, then I understand why they are doing it.
Anyone else getting robbed by the penalty system? Is this a new thing because it was like this last time I was on (about a month ago)?

It's actually getting better, as in you don't always get SR Down anymore for getting bumped from behind
Get touched and the other car goes off road, touches a wall or takes a short cut and you get a penalty.

Back after qualifying in the Audi R8 LMS '15 "Perfect Maid" with my improved time of a 1:55.553

08:10 Room
Car: Honda NSX Gr.3 "YoRha"
Start Position: 1st
Finish Position: 1st
Total Race Time: 7:54.581

Overtaken by an RSR again, but this time, this different person bottled it on the penultimate lap, allowing me to take my 90th Sport Mode win

91st Sport Mode win though...plz get out, LH-runner and anchovy343...

Tried to do a Race B, room loaded up, warm up concluded and then bam, everyone but 2 got disconnected for some reason. I haven’t seen that happen before, I’m taking it as a sign and going back to Race A lol, that was a pretty fast room, I doubt I would have made it out of DFL. :)

It happaned to me last week at Race A. Boring race with just 4 players

Clean Dub! I held it together for 3 whole laps!

The guy on pole didn’t know that false start checks are not in this race, I’ve been getting a jump on him the past couple races so I messaged him after the race and told him, he was thankful. It’s no fun to win when the only guy who can make it a race falls back to 7th off the start because he didn’t know, he hadn’t fallen back that far before so I hadn’t said anything before cause I wasn’t sure, this time it was clear he didn’t know.

It's funny how that bit of track is giving you so much trouble in that lousy little 87hp car. It's funny because I bet in a Gr.2 car, you'd get through clean 99% of the time.

I think it’s just a mental thing at this point, I’ve crashed there so many times now it’s just in my head.

Edit: I may be finding a little Saturday night groove, 2 in a row! :)

Trifecta! Plus I beat a guy twice that was whooping me last night, that’s always fun. I to work for this one, had a 1.5s lead on 2nd and picked up a stupid 3.1 penalty on the chicane on lap 3 so I had to come down the back hill wide open to build enough gap on him to be able to burn it off at the end and it worked out, I made it through, scrubbed the penalty before the line and got the Dub. :)

Make it 4 in a row, Tripple Star. That might be my best ever. One guy made a run at it but he wiped out in T2 on the final lap and I closed it down by 6.5s in the end. I’m in the zone tonight. :)

That would explain it. These scrubs (with decent ratings....???) are hitting me, then bouncing all over the place. I barely manage to save it, losing two spots in the process. Then I get the penalty and, a few seconds later, the SR drop. They are using me to bounce themselves into the turns and through the tough spots, such as the right onto the straight, after the downhill esses (Honda Beat race).
I had this happen in the group 4 event also, with even more frequency. Frustrating to be battling it out for the top 3 positions once second, then back to 7th the next.

Next race featured the only guy in NA to beat Lesters time and for some reason the entire room got aggressive as hell all of a sudden, same guys I’ve been racing all night mostly too. Dropped back as far as 9th after getting bumped everywhere, SR went from 99 to 84 in one race, streak over.

Edit: I’m down in the lower SR S room for the next race thanks to the one before, Closest guy on the grid has a 13.2, though I only won by 3s in the end, Triple Star for my 60th Win. :)

Edit 2: Pole again in the next race, still in the lower SR S room, warmups done, dammit, Disconnected again. That’s it, I’m goin to bed.

I have to vent. I prop this game up to all my friends and whoever will listen. That changed as of a minute ago.

Tonight was ridiculous in every way. I read about the horror of the penalty system and shrugged it off because it never hit home to me personally. Tonight all that changed. I started as a C driver with an almost perfect SR rating S for as long as I’ve been playing GTS. After NOT hitting a soul tonight and absorbing penalty after penalty, with nary a soul around, I’m in last place, race after race. It’s as if I’m on some kind of naughty list. No clue… I had people around me scratching their heads saying what????

Here’s my take away after 4 months: I trusted BOP would even the score in that they restrict us from making modification per our preferred style. That is a load of ____! Mitsubishi is by far NOT equal to the others. Nor was Ferrari last year. Oh but PD has the best and brightest test driving…wow...I am curious what these dudes are pulling in a year. You win PD, the jokes on me for picking Mitsu. My fault and I’m certain Mitsubishi Corp. is happy too! I should be a lemming and just go with the heard right? Pick Porsche or Ford or whatever the top 10 are picking. Total joke.

The other is this ridiculous penalty system. NOT the way IMSA or any other racing league (including FIA) operates. Who are these “stewards” you employ? They suck

Why is it F1 by Codemasters doesn’t have the same penalty system?

I’m absolutely disenfranchised now that I am a D, and for no apparent reason. It takes far too much of my time to graduate to a C so, because I am gainfully employed and have little time for folly, I believe this is it for me.

If I were CEO of the PD operation, I’d demand the crew fix the penalty system and don’t rest until it’s done…period. So frustrated right now I cannot describe.

You know what, I need to follow this up with a thought. In an article I read recently, it was mentioned that the reason tuning was taken away was directly related to the fact that the younger generation has no earthly clue how an LSD functions or Down Force, or any other mechanical characteristic of a RACE car. So are we raising idiots? Shouldn’t they have a great forum to learn? And thereby create smarter people?

PD, give back the ability to adjust our tuning, leave the BOP for the ignorant who want to remain ignorant and lose as a result. That is only fair. Plus its realistic right?

Slow and steady for Race A.

First run started P8 ended P4. Quite a decent run since I don't normally set qualifying times to avoid a carnage with idiots.
Second run was a little sour, started P10 but ended P5, lost by 0.006 seconds by an overtake due to some Beat up handling snap coming out of the final corner.

At least I have my integrity to have the overtake clean and lose a position, better than some shameless imbeciles constantly blocking move than a move across.

Finally! I've got 91 Sport Mode wins, which means that I've got the Schumi trophy! The attempts before this all end up in some atrocious results, and all of them has me finishing in 2nd in one way or another...

And here's my stats after that race!

And here's the celebratory tweet post!

Absolutely!

You have to shift pretty early for the first half of the race, and draft as much as possible. Even just being behind a car thru most of the track while short shifting can help stretch your fuel out. But don't follow too close! It's easy to get bit by early brakers and end up with a whole lot of SR down. Drive smoothly and conserve tires. I typically shift right when the hud display shows red (far left of the bar). You still have to turn 2:08's while conserving and everyone will pit on lap 5,6. I usually keep the radar on the whole race but every time I cross the start finish line I flip it to the fuel and check what I've got left. I run fuel map 1 the whole race. As the race progresses you have to gauge your shift points by how much fuel you have left. You can stretch the gears out a bit near the end if you have the fuel for it.

Hope that helps!

Thank you!

I just finished the Group 4 race. I was braking for the turn, got hit from.behind, and my SR dropped. I.was hauling ass and driving like any other lap. This guy broke waaaay late and hit me. I get a 1sec penalty. WTF?!
Wish I could get 1 second penalty for someone hitting me. I get 3 seconds each time.

Just finished a race. People make the dumbest moves. The straight before the chicane. How do you think it would end up, by trying pass me on the outside and then jumping in front of me slamming on the brakes, to TRY and make corner entry? Dumb.

I completely agree. 100%. But apparently, people don’t have the time to learn the simplest steps of tuning. But the same people have the time to spend lap after lap after lap to learn how a car handles:confused: And then repeat it for a few more cars. Instead of just moving a slider or two to get any car to handle the way they want.

Now, I’m not saying that I know exactly how to get a car to handle the way I like, but I can at least tune the LSD so I can turn off the TCS when I’m racing.
I also guess that some people thinks that knowing how to tune a car is unfair. They’re probably the one that’s using every aid they can, because “it’s easier to drive”.
I wish someone could launch a site on the internet that gave us the possibility to search for stuff that we wanted to learn:rolleyes:. I’ve even thought up a name for it. If I knew how to make a website like that, I’d call it “Google”. Just for fun.

without naming and shaming , but have you met some hungarian guy who will not hesitate to smash you on the wall if you dare overtaking him on Maggiore? just met him and thanks to that gentleman i lost over 1000DR

I've met a few in race B that take getting passed personally as well. One guy punted me every time I caught him.

To say it with @Pigems : "WooHoo!" :D -
I broke into the 9s finally with the BEAT during my third qualifying session.
10 meters left to go for the new PB :

IMG_0549.JPG

The hardest part's always been keeping the speed high through the second chicane and the last corner.
Feels like I've done more miles with the little bugger this week than in the last month altogether :) ...
It must've been fun then 👍 !

Well done RJ! Now see if you can find out where to make up the 2 seconds to get to P1......
