:gtpflag:View attachment 800296You know, as much driving as I have done in my life, there’s no way I can switch to left foot braking.
I can’t rewire my brain after 30 years of manual trannies lol. That said, I don’t think it’s impossible to get fast in game with methods that are commonly said to be bad like right foot brake and TCS.

‘We salute you right foot brake tcs guy still working hard to improve’

Take it from me friend, it's not impossible to be fast using one foot and TCS. I was never the fastest, but many poles and many wins against drivers who probably never thought they'd get beat by someone using all the wrong methods. Now that I've switched to 2 feet and no TCS I do see more potential, but it's definitely not an easy transition, especially at my ripe age of 36 years.

Today, I learned that you can go through the Bus Stop at Dragon Trail at full throttle (at least with the Veyron Gr. 4).
I finally got it right and got super excited... and then goofed the last turn. :banghead:

YES! It can be done in Gr.3 too, like somebody else has said: be bold! You highlighted the problem there though, when you first start making it through there without lifting you're now approaching the final turn at a higher speed than you're used to. I can't even count how many times I've been on a perfect lap (relatively perfect) only to bottle it in the final turn because of the excess speed I've carried through the bus stop. Good luck!

Okay so he's my question for Monday qualifying session but I got a 0:47.654 and I see the top time is a 0:47.095 at the moment.

Should I stop trying or is it likely that there will be times under 0:47 seconds before the end of the week as I don't think I can drive
the VW any faster than I've done maybe a tenth or two but not much more!

Productive day on race B couple of wins and a couple of second places. Albeit I only have a DR of D but getting closer to C. Won both races by over 8 seconds, fastest laps etc. This is really helping my DR rating. Need to improve my qualifying though. In one race dipped just under 1:48 but my qualifying is only 1:49:2

Plenty of fun/time to be had! Should also add I don’t quite have the minerals to go flat through the bus stop

I'm low DR.B and get placed with the fast guys. I can do 1:48 close to 1:47 so far, that is when I don't get rammed off. The top is in the 1::46 already and finishes 20+ sec ahead due to all the ramming in the backfield. I'm starting to see why people retreat into hot lapping for the first part of the week until they can drive at or with the very top. Or create a new account for sport mode. This game is turning into a list of times to avoid racing, Sunday drivers, Monday trying to get that early win desperately, 6pm to 9pm daily dirty hours (actually it already starts ramping up when the schools are out) Friday night, Saturday night DUI alert.

One more attempt. If rammed off again I'm going to repeatedly hit the pit wall on Suzuka to reset my SR to 1. At least I'll get to play with honest dirty drivers and see some different faces for a change. Plus some sense of progression would be nice for a change. SR.S is a dead end.

Ok, I'm off to SR.E. Let's see if I can pull this off in one C race just hitting the pit wall. SR Down is only -2 or -3, 50 hits should do it.

After 3 races i feel safe in saying race a will be a dive fest this week. Is it me that's wrong when i would rather finish in lets say 4, a second behind the winner than 3, 20 seconds behind...

Last time we had this combo the fastest time was 46.803. Of course we've had a handling physics update so maybe there's a little more time to be had.

With the one make races the qualifying times tend to be very very close, so a small improvement can make a big difference on the leaderboard.

So, you should never stop trying ;) but your time is easily fast enough to be racing!(if that was your question).

Same with Porsche (also VAG). Every game I've played theyre either the best handling or OP in class.

Good point on the Porsche! So, 2 weeks back the Daily B Fuji race was a full VAG event with a FF Audi TT or a 4WD Lamborghini ruling the week (granted I drove Renault both weeks so defeat my own argument). We get an Audi R8 or Porsche 911 up next and while I have not been home to check the leader boards for this week I recall the Bugatti was fast on Dragon Trail Seaside...and most likely the TT is as well so we could have a 3rd week on Daily B where the fastest 2 cars will be VAG. Considering they own so many brands you could say it is fair they would be so well represented on the grids but then you go to real life GT racing and while they are represented it is nowhere near what we have on our Sport races, with Nissan, BMW, Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari and even McLaren making a much better show in real life than they do here.

@Dairyworker: I know exactly what you mean. Perhaps I'm just not aggressive enough but I've often sat in a safe 4th on the last lap of a race with 3rd just in front and not made a move because a safe 4th was a good result. It annoys the hell out of me when, for the sake of 1 place on the grid, a driver will risk both his and your result with a crazy move when 30 seconds of patience could have got you both a decent finish.

Also @Dairyworker I too have years of manual driving experience but when I got the G29 in December the left foot braking thing just happened naturally. Try it, you are much faster than I am already but it really gives you better reaction and an ability to trail brake much better.

Thanks, I may give it another couple of goes, I wasn't checking for going racing as know I am fast enough, it's more for my ego
as the next achievement I want to have is to be sat on the top 10 leaderboard at some point for Race A/B or C.

Nice time, Mondays are the days to make top ten appearances! They don’t last long but it’s fun to be there, for a minute.

Did a few laps for Race A. QT 48.031. Got me 2nd. Finished 2nd. Best start to a week I've ever had.

Also did a few laps for Race B. QT 1:48.992. Only tried the Veyron so far.

TBH the track selection (all 3) suits me this week. Not my favorites but ones I'm relatively OK on.

Got A down to 47.8 in just 5 laps, I remember this combo pretty well from last time. I might be able to get it to a 47.5 but you have to be much easier on the throttle now then before the update so only time will tell, that’s not my strong suite.

Brake points are the same as before at least, end of the fencing in T1 and the second red sign past the 100 marker on the back straight. :)

I’ve seen your times, they’re not too bad, I’ll have to get up earlier to get mine on there!

Thanks. You’ve got me by 3 tenths so far, that’s a big 3 tenths with this combo, great lap. :)

It turns out, the pit all at Suzuka does not give SR Down, just gave me 5 sec penalty. However driving the wrong way triggers the DQ timer, turn around in time and you get SR Down when the timer stops. You don't even have to hit a wall.

I tried to stay out of everyone's way, not sure whether it was necessary to go on all race, was firmly D/E after the race.

First race as D/E at DT Seaside, lol fun stuff. People braking all over the place, bumping and rubbing in every corner. I hang onto SR.E for another race as I couldn't avoid a couple brake checks and a stalled car in the bus stop. Another GTA race coming up.

Thanks for the visual guide, that may actually help me a bit with my brake points as I suspect those two corners are where I can
make time.

Awesome, glad to be of help Sir. :)

Also, I’m making early progress with the VW. This car drives nicely now. :)

I suppose at that level, you can pretty much do whatever you want. Treat it like a GT League race against the A.I.

Glad it's not the 12th red sign past the 100 marker on the back straight. I can imagine trying to count twelve red turn signs at 150KPH while entering a corner with other cars around me.:boggled:

That's what it looks like. There's still a shark at the top with 1:46 qualiy time, rest all 1:48 and up. Another red rating, got to watch out for those tag and crash people. Fair racing in total madness  The penalty system sure doesn't work down here either!

I keep getting stuck behind 2 Lambos with 1:45 Q times. The 2 don't like each other cuz first chicane at bottom of hill the seem to always get into each other. I slip on by but sure enough on the hard right hander coming up I get bumped from behind and hit the dirt :/ if not there the sharp right at the bottom of the hill I get put into the wall......

Worst part is the odd race I get poll I've gotten waisted in the chicane from Hell yet when I'm chasing I go through like butter.

Having hard time getting up from DR3k / SR 1 like holy moly

I could sandbag but cant bring myself to actually do it.

Got down to a 47.8 in the vw haven't had a go at DT yet . Time for a real life drive with the wife. Beautiful day for a cruise out there today. Hope to see some of you on the track later.

I went into full avoidance mode, wasn't really necessary. This race in SR.E / SR.D was cleaner than the races last night in SR.S. 4 red ratings out of 16 instead of 12 out of 16 in the SR.S rooms lol. A clean race at DT: Seaside at SR.E is worth 17 SR. Big boost. Now I've got to drop it again to see what the boost is on race C this week :)

Did you walk past me on one of my melt down races lol I was probably one of the red lololol when I get bumped out it seems to throw me off and driving in anger I get killed by the chicane from Hell

I need to calm down relax but every time I do I get dogged, i can hold my cool once or twice but but 3rd hit I lose my stuff

@Sven Jergens

Seen yah with no Q time

You DNF tho was that to kill SR? Bummer you left I finally managed a win and clean race.

I got passed by a veyron and a TT but held on to their tail pipes. Both passed me fair and clean. No body else close enough to challenge. Then last lap last corner 1 and 2 get into each other and first place gets a penalty. I was able to get past 2nd as he lost momentum and while I crossed the line on 1st place bumper his penalty cost him the race as I walked away with the W

Man, I really wish I could race as often as some of you guys are able to. Not hating on you, just jealous! :grumpy::(

I had a week day off the week Daily B was Fuji Gr4. I usually work 6 days and when I am off it's a family day so off on a week day where I sat and raced was very rare. My DR hit the highest I've ever achieved. My quali time was under 3% of region leader for the first time ever and I was placing top 5 consistently. Back to reality last week and I lost half my DR and finished bottom half of the field. Like a lot of things in life you get out of it what you put in. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me work and family take the lions share. In a way, I'm glad I don't have more time for GT because it would mean I had less of something else. It just means I have to accept the results are the best I can expect based on what I put into it. No disrespect to those who have got more time for GT.
