Daytona 500 today, so there's that. I didn't even play GTS yesterday either.
For those that don't get the appeal of oval racing, I say check out Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race. What a wild race. Five overtime restarts and a photo finish. It doesn't get much better than this.
Potentially:
Race A: Swift at Dragon Trail
Race B: One make Mitsubishi XR-PHEV EVOLUTION Vision GT at Kyoto - Yamagiwa
Race C: Gr.4 Lago Maggiore GP
Hopefully I can fit in a few dailys in
I was (kind of) close lol.
Seems as true to the GT spirit as you could get to me.The Swift Sport is really a strange car to include in the game.

What are todays races?
Skipped a few nights now..
I had an absolute shocker in the Gr4 at Nurburgring yesterday. In qualifying 2 slower cars wiped me out as I made very clean passes. I was left with one lap to get a good time in. I ended up .03 off pole to a TT. Come the 1st corner, lap 1, TT slightly misses braking point, I gain on him and we are now side by side. Turn 2 and 3 we remain side by side, clean. However at turn 4 I am on the inside, he fails to notice and turns in on me (This is why people MUST start using their radars). Turn 5 I'm still to the right hand side of the track, side by side we remain clean. Turn 6 once again I'm on the inside. An exact repeat of turn 4. With that after exiting he then takes a massive right hand lunge at me but thankfully his car ghosted and went straight into the tyre wall.
So he was now not an issue, took himself out. By lap 5 I now have a comfortable 7 second lead and aim to go for a pit in. Come to turn 9 and I see a slow back marker. It's only the loon in the TT. he waits until I approach then starts slowly weaving in front of me, braking hard causing me to hit him. I then get a penalty. I get past him, go to pit in and he comes up with no brakes and wipes me out on pit entry. So I have to carry on for another lap. Get near the pits and he's still there, attempts the same but fails. I get to do my pit stop having well and truly lost my lead. I come out of the pits and guess what? Yep he's waiting and slams me off at turn 1. I recover and attempt to complete the race but he's now chasing me and as soon as the next opportunity arose he wiped me out again. So I quit. I was bloody fuming, never known anything like it.
I wish there had been a way to report him but obviously because i quit i was back to the main menu. Didn't even make a mental note of the idiots name. It's people like that who make you forget the dozens of great races you have and rage at the system. Sadly the system can't combat idiots like him. The weak part of the game will always be the fleshy part holding the controller.
One slow car. One faster car. One gr 3/4. What is so strange about this ? Most people just want this. And finally some ovals people were wishing for (not me). Pretty mixed up actually and thus perfect. Even if you dont like it.
I think, in isolation, there's nothing really wrong with it, but it has felt like it's been a week of slow One Makes & pad-friendly cars, ovals and Tokyo Expressway - not enough race cars & proper circuits, perhaps?
Personally, I struggle to get excited about turning up for an oval race, a Tokyo expressway race, or a slow, boring, road car One-Make - and it sounds like I'm not the only one - that's all.
Of course, each to their own
I've generally found there to always be at least one race out of the three that has taken my fancy, and if not, meh.
I love Brands Hatch GP. I don't know how anyone can get bored with this track, even if it's a one-make in the Gr. 4 Cayman.
The fun part about Brands is that you can always go faster, until you completely lose it and crash. There's not a lot of room for error, so it's the perfect example of risk vs. reward. More than most tracks, I find myself having that mental debate of pushing the pace to catch the car in front (or creating a gap behind me) or trying to maintain position and not make mistakes.
Seems as true to the GT spirit as you could get to me.
Recycling a 10 year old model of an average car does sound like GT actually
Thank you for your contribution.
Did you see second race, what I did?
It was fantastic chance for hat-trick (win, fl and pole) and clean race...
Winner was someone from here, ThrowawayyourTV I guess.
My God, just can't stay calm.
But that's the difference between some fantastic drivers around and mortals...
Talking about time, I had some chances even for top 10 entry - didn't look their replays.
Dragon trial for me first race of the evening. I looked into my bag of talent and found it wasn't quite as full as I belived. I thought I was putting in some good lap times for qualifying, but then the matching came up. I was expecting about 8th... not 13th! The race was primarily populated with As and Bs, one or two Cs and a few D's. I had to try really hard not to rear end the guy in front of me, and finally managed to get past him when he was slightly off line and braked too early. Worked my way past a number of crashes and was doing really well...untill that last chicane on the final lap when i just didn't quite manage to thread the needle and suffered a catastrophic drop in velocity. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom and that was all she wrote as i slinked shamefully across the line. Other than that it was a pretty clean race.
