Did the FIA Brands Hatch race today and it crashed when going to the results screen. Why is this game so unstable? Have the more recent GT games been like this? I would've expected a more solid experience from a 1st party studio like PD.

Daytona 500 today, so there's that. I didn't even play GTS yesterday either.

What a couple of great races. Saturday's race was decided by .0004 or 3 inches. Then today Austin Dillon puts the #3 back in victory lane 20 years after Dale Earnhardt's only Daytona 500 win. And to top it off, Chevy sweeps the weekend with wins in the Camaro. I'm loving it.

For those that don't get the appeal of oval racing, I say check out Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race. What a wild race. Five overtime restarts and a photo finish. It doesn't get much better than this.

Here is the screen capture of today's Daily Race A, B and C

I've seen a few Nascar races and I've never been able to see the appeal..much like drag racing, but each to their own. :) I've got another 3 and a bit hours of the "other" Daytona race to finish watching, then Rally Sweden before catching up with my home turf Bathurst 12 hour. Hopefully I can fit in a few dailys in ;)

Yeah I've had to forgo the dailys. Too much sports to watch today between NASCAR, UFC and NBA All-Star game. Sadly we don't get a lot of the Euro races here in the states. Last year we did get some FIA races which I enjoyed. Hopefully get back to GTS this week after some light racing this weekend as the dailys weren't really that enticing.

Can’t wait to get some races in at Maggiore today. I really wanted to enjoy the previous Group 4 race at Suzuka but it just wasn’t working for me, where I was incapable of staying on the track and off the pace.

GR.1 was amazing today, ended with a very close battle for first place all race long, I started 2nd and we swapped places multiple times. I overshot one corner a tiny bit in lap 11 giving him an opening which he used perfectly. Well deserved.

The races were pretty clean, except during crash happy hour and one minor delinquent that promptly got demoted to SR.A. Cleanest at the end of the night when everyone knew exactly what to do.

I'm almost back to DR.A after my draft bump racing reset me to D/E yesterday.
Sat Feb 17 2018 17:25:37 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:7000 | SR:1/99 | Races:1224 | DPUR:175
Mon Feb 19 2018 01:57:02 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:29489 | SR:99/99 | Races:1245 | DPUR:97
Maxing SR only took 6 races, DR takes a bit longer to recover.

Hopefully that concept car in race B has a bit of speed, I do better with faster cars.

After a weekend of not so good races time to go back to work and they drop this selection on us.
Thumbs up for the selection but thumbs down for not having this yesterday.

Seems as true to the GT spirit as you could get to me.

Swift is this games yaris. If the swift was on the game at the start, they'd have used it in license tests at the start.

What are todays races?

Skipped a few nights now..

See post from @AutechSkyline above

I had an absolute shocker in the Gr4 at Nurburgring yesterday. In qualifying 2 slower cars wiped me out as I made very clean passes. I was left with one lap to get a good time in. I ended up .03 off pole to a TT. Come the 1st corner, lap 1, TT slightly misses braking point, I gain on him and we are now side by side. Turn 2 and 3 we remain side by side, clean. However at turn 4 I am on the inside, he fails to notice and turns in on me (This is why people MUST start using their radars). Turn 5 I'm still to the right hand side of the track, side by side we remain clean. Turn 6 once again I'm on the inside. An exact repeat of turn 4. With that after exiting he then takes a massive right hand lunge at me but thankfully his car ghosted and went straight into the tyre wall.
So he was now not an issue, took himself out. By lap 5 I now have a comfortable 7 second lead and aim to go for a pit in. Come to turn 9 and I see a slow back marker. It's only the loon in the TT. he waits until I approach then starts slowly weaving in front of me, braking hard causing me to hit him. I then get a penalty. I get past him, go to pit in and he comes up with no brakes and wipes me out on pit entry. So I have to carry on for another lap. Get near the pits and he's still there, attempts the same but fails. I get to do my pit stop having well and truly lost my lead. I come out of the pits and guess what? Yep he's waiting and slams me off at turn 1. I recover and attempt to complete the race but he's now chasing me and as soon as the next opportunity arose he wiped me out again. So I quit. I was bloody fuming, never known anything like it.
I wish there had been a way to report him but obviously because i quit i was back to the main menu. Didn't even make a mental note of the idiots name. It's people like that who make you forget the dozens of great races you have and rage at the system. Sadly the system can't combat idiots like him. The weak part of the game will always be the fleshy part holding the controller.

I also had this on Nurb GP. Was having a good fight for 5th with a guy, when entering the last lap some **** in 19th was just there to ruin races. I went round him and got a penalty, then he got ahead of me by cutting corners then brake checked me, meaning I hit him ... he went off track and I got a 10 second penalty. I had a perfectly clean race until then, but due to this I finished with red SR. So ****ING annoying.

One slow car. One faster car. One gr 3/4. What is so strange about this ? Most people just want this. And finally some ovals people were wishing for (not me). Pretty mixed up actually and thus perfect. Even if you dont like it.

Exactly this... the daily races are accessible.

I think, in isolation, there's nothing really wrong with it, but it has felt like it's been a week of slow One Makes & pad-friendly cars, ovals and Tokyo Expressway - not enough race cars & proper circuits, perhaps?

Personally, I struggle to get excited about turning up for an oval race, a Tokyo expressway race, or a slow, boring, road car One-Make - and it sounds like I'm not the only one - that's all.

Of course, each to their own :)
I've generally found there to always be at least one race out of the three that has taken my fancy, and if not, meh.

I quite like slowing it down from time to time and competing in the one make races, where it's an even grid.

I love Brands Hatch GP. I don't know how anyone can get bored with this track, even if it's a one-make in the Gr. 4 Cayman.

The fun part about Brands is that you can always go faster, until you completely lose it and crash. There's not a lot of room for error, so it's the perfect example of risk vs. reward. More than most tracks, I find myself having that mental debate of pushing the pace to catch the car in front (or creating a gap behind me) or trying to maintain position and not make mistakes.

I found that, despite Brands (and Suzuka) really not being my favourite tracks, if you can remain steady and consistent you are guaranteed to gain places from people pushing hard who leave the track. Used this tactic reasonably successfully on the weekend :) mostly starting in the back half and finishing at least in the top half.

Two more wins on the board for the weekend too... 30 lap FIA race at BB Raceway on Friday (my first FIA win) and Suzuki on Miyabi Saturday. I was actually trying to get a clean race, sitting behind the guy in first quite comfortably (we had a couple of seconds gap ahead of the rest) when he clearly panicked and thought I was trying to take him, swerved about the track and braked hard causing me to hit him, where he left the track and I sailed home with a win, but no clean race.

Now I ll screw things like usually...

Plug in?

Sorry, no time to provide commentary today... just seen the french guy get in your way out of the bus stop though... :(

Did you see second race, what I did?

It was fantastic chance for hat-trick (win, fl and pole) and clean race...

Winner was someone from here, ThrowawayyourTV I guess.

My God, just can't stay calm.
But that's the difference between some fantastic drivers around and mortals...

Talking about time, I had some chances even for top 10 entry - didn't look their replays.

No just a few glimpses of the first race.

That is my problem... especially on Dragon Trail, I lose my cool and panic at the chicane and usually the turn before it too!

Really? What are the top 10 times?

Dragon trial for me first race of the evening. I looked into my bag of talent and found it wasn't quite as full as I belived . I thought I was putting in some good lap times for qualifying, but then the matching came up. I was expecting about 8th... not 13th! The race was primarily populated with As and Bs, one or two Cs and a few D's. I had to try really hard not to rear end the guy in front of me, and finally managed to get past him when he was slightly off line and braked too early. Worked my way past a number of crashes and was doing really well...untill that last chicane on the final lap when i just didn't quite manage to thread the needle and suffered a catastrophic drop in velocity. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom and that was all she wrote as i slinked shamefully across the line. Other than that it was a pretty clean race.

Sounds like quite a mixed grid... what DR are you?
