Overtaking in GR4 with real slipstream is ridiculous, not to mention the perfect ghosting and unghosting algorithm on the chicane of dragon trail which unghosted someone whos messed in front of me right when i was passing .... and that happened 3 races in a row so -2k dr

Even when they stay ghosted, you often still hit them :boggled: Screw people who serve penalties in the esses on the racing line. The weird thing about hitting a ghost is that the other car is usually unaffected while you stall to a crawl behind them or end up halfway merged at the lower speed. It's clear that their client did not think there was a hit yet your client somehow saw it as a solid object.

Nice! So they do go to sleep eventually. I did a couple more hours of late night racing, couldn't sleep. I think my last race was just before 5am and while traveling down to SR.B and close to SR.S again, at no point was there no fast guy at front, sometimes more as I got merged with the A+/S crowd the later it got. I did manage to snatch a few fastest laps before matchmaking put everyone together again and the 'fast' guy up front did not have the race pace his quali time suggested. A 1:47.1 was enough for the fastest lap in a couple races. Or perhaps the leader simply too it easy running out in front, I did not manage to finish higher than third.

Racing did get a little cleaner in the middle of the night. Never clean though and never with much sense when it comes to entering the bus stop 2 wide or 4 wide into the sharp turn before.
Actually, it looks like they are awake. I graduated to upper S, and now I'm starting 10th. Stay under 90.

Does the match making system account for DR?

Like if coming off a reset to DR 3k / SR 1

Doing the C race thing to get SR up to SR S by running a clean race from the back (no qualifying time)

So what we have is DR sub 3k, lower DR than what you start with and get reset to. However premium SR S

DR 2k / SR 99

Will I be matched with the SR S guys with low DR

Compared to lets say my old stats from pre Jan 17th update

DR 27k / SR 99

Will the match making system have me with SR S guys who have DR closer to what I have?

Given when pool of players get low the top of the field may vary much to the bottom

Finally finally finally got my QT under 48 in race A. Start 3rd finish 3rd. Me and a nice clean racer contending with a Brazilian pinballer that racked up 7.5 seconds worth probably kept the both of us from challenging for the win. SR and DR up. Entered again

I had the same against a Spaniard ( EMEA Brazilian in Daily A last night). I got a pole start but the Spaniard in 2nd was so determined to either win or cot me a win while trying that we ended 2nd & 3rd respectively. Luckily I was given another pole for the next race and took that to the finish.

Thanks for all the friendly advice, everybody, but y'all failed to mention switching liveries. I switched to this old favorite, and it worked like a charm. 👍

Well a change of livery was such an obvious thing to try we all just assumed you’d already done that. Sheesh!

Shhhh certain stickers add a little bit of hp and the crazier the design the better it cuts through air making you more slippery and thus faster... Its an old trick a group we used to call Ricers would use extensively over actual performance upgrades.

:P

Having dipped my toe in again to the A races, I ventured into the Bs, which was great, until today. All S or A SR, anywhere from S to D DR, I started two from the back (progress!!) and the fun started on the warmup where I got punted... for no reason!
The race was worse. Punted from the back, ended up last, moved ahead as people span off, punted from the back again.... nah, 🤬 this, ended the session and lost a lot of SR (I thought you'd only lose DR and as I don't have any I didn't give a monkeys). Went back to the A races, much more civilised, sat at the back and rebuilt SR
I think I'll stay away at weekends, seems to be full of school kids.

Hey everyone! I had a few good races and a few bad ones yesterday while trying to figure out DT Seaside. At first I was reluctant to use the Huracan so tried the Viper because I saw a friend pull a 1:45.5 in it. After a few races and 15-20 hot laps I couldn’t get better than 46.1 qualy which was starting me as low as 12th sometimes. After a break I tried the Huracan later and squeezed out a 45.4 within 3 laps. I really hate AWD but I’m kinda starting to get the hang of it in some cars, dang it. Gr.4 is my worst class so that’s one area I’m trying to improve the most.

I’ll be doing more Race B earlier today and FIA MFG later. I hope to see you all out there!

A few races last night and one this morning on DT.

SR-S. All pretty good races. Close. A few divebombers but the spots are predictable. Hairpin before bus stop is a spot. Most races a Huracan tries to dive through there every lap. Watch out.

Personally, I've done well this week. Highest DR climb I've had. Hope I can stay there. :dopey:

You joke, but I do believe that nice liveries will draw attention from other drivers, distracting them from the task at hand :D BTW, I am not seeing many other Huracans in Race C. They're really good at Suzuka (BB -3). Also, Huracans should have the most extravagant liveries :D

It does, however the player pool at SR.S (90-99 range) is often too small for it to matter (NA server)

During quiet times you will still be matched with A and A+ drivers up front. In the middle of the night (or rather early morning) it throws everything together to fill a room A+/S to D/E. SR is the primary factor so only when there are sufficient entries to make two separate rooms in the 90-99 range, then you will be put in the 'slower' room. However this 'slower' room includes all the other fast people with DR resets or alt accounts working their way up or farming 'easy' wins. I've seen D/S drivers with faster qualy times than A+ drivers. And those are likely the aggressive kind going for the win at all costs, hence their DR resets.

You will need a European account to hope for more evenly matched rooms. Of course also there you will have DR resets and alt accounts in the mix, yet your chance for a full D/S room will be much much higher. On the NA server that chance is virtually zero at SR 99.

The 'sweet spot' for easier rooms is SR in the 80-89 range during prime time. Fast aggressive drivers usually drop right past that on the way down increasing your chances for a more evenly matched room. Only on Suzuka though where a clean race up front nets 21 points, so they also skip the 80-89 range on the way back up.

There simply aren't enough people playing to get more even matches. I often get in rooms where pole sits at 1:44, 12th at 1:52 quali time no matter what SR/DR. Also DR is too messed up to be an accurate measure of race pace.

win 359!!

Fair Point

lol Im one of them Lmfao, Id be eyeballing that Lambo Livery without a doubt.

See some really cool stuff in the Dailies, I do love how creative some people can get with the designs.

Its mixed with a bunch of default stuff yawn & then some Tekashi 6nitch 9ine looking cars all rainbow wild or chrome pinkish that temporarily blind me unable to look in their direction fear of imprinting the ugly on my retinas.

Crazy 1 handed race. Daily A with only 7 th on grid (Q time was good enough for top 3 earlier in the week). 1 lap in my dog starts pulling at my feet. Not her normal behavior but I’m focused on the race. She keeps at it and I look down on the straight. Her favorite toy is wedged in the pedals. So...next straight I reach down for it and flung it out of the way. Problem now is she comes back with it looking to play fetch. 8 laps of driving on 1 hand while playing tug with the dog on the other ensued. Surprisingly I only lost 1 place.:lol:

Hahahahhaahahaa @6BK

It seems like the more focused I get the more the cat & dog need attention at that very moment lolol aren't they the best :D

Speak of the Devil time to take Travis Barker for a walk. My PittBull not the Drummer lol

Lovely races at Dragon Trail. Fantastic fight with some others. This is my best overtake. I couldn't believe it I made it. My quali laps are not that fast but starting in the middle of the field is a start for great fights, so no need to improve it. (However, fights cost a lot of time ) Thank you for all clean drivers today.

However, the ghosting in the chicane is really weird. You can even hit ghosts sometimes which cost a lot of SR.

Oh man, i dont even know how many times my dog has interrupted a race. It is a big reason i only race when his is chilled out now lol. @K3Tuning as a drummer i aprove of your dogs name very much, supreme skinsman. Love pitbulls and have one myself, a mix actually, he is named roofus.

About to head home from the brewery, hope the racing is good today. I will probably start in the A race. Unless i can try to get on with some of yous in the B race. Anyone ot there this afternoon....

Surprisingly little workload this weekend, so I hopped on. The #1 time in race A literally slams the car into the wall on the last turn, which absolutely disgusted me. Nevertheless, I used it and got a 46.909 :D Now to take a long shower because this was really dirty...

Well, this video pretty much sums up how my races have been going so far today. Flashes of brilliance followed by dumb mistakes that basically put me in last place, lol. Sometimes I just gotta laugh at myself.

In this clip though, you’ll find a pretty sweet overtake. I was leading, then hit the wall inside the bus stop so P2 and P3 had a good run on me into the final corner. I had no choice but to give them the position but due to their little battle they both had a compromised corner and I got the double over-under, and somehow managed to hold it through T1...only to blow it in the 2nd sector like a pleb! Good fun anyhow, enjoy the clip!

I beat my best time this morning on DT SS, by 5 whole hundredths.1:46.407, it sure doesn’t feel like there’s 2 entire seconds left out there so I decided to take the top time and break it down so I could compare it with my own to see where I’m losing the time at. Answer, Everywhere.

My line is similar, my braking points are similar and my turn in points are similar, so I got to thinking where is the speed at? So I took a photo/screenshot of both my car and the top time at every Apex except T15 and T16, I took the entry to T15 and Exit of T16. There was the answer, I’m losing a little time in nearly ever single corner through the middle of the turn and it’s affecting my exit speeds. Im gonna try to adjust the point where I release full brake pressure and start to trail off the brakes in as many corners as I possible today to see if I can get my mid corner and exit speeds up without changing my brake starting points. Now to see if any of this info helps. :)

I am not great there by any means, I do know with the car I run, banging off downshifts upsets it and hurts my entry in general resulting in slower apex speed and lugging fifth entering the uphill esses bottom is slower than dropping a gear on entry.
I can’t drive the Lambo at all though...I tried a couple laps and I’m horrible in that car!

What are you guys thinking for next week's races? 3 repeats? My fantasy remains to have 21 different races for the week.

Firat race of the day. A race, it was decent. I had a good fair driver behind me who took second from me when i completly missed my brake point for the last turn lol. First was way out front but i managed to stay qith the guy in 2 and finished in 3 well away from the rest of the field. I was sloppy as hell as i didn't get any warm up laps. Going in for another, let's see how it goes.....

Side note, lamb of god is making it hard to not just drive flat out

No idea and i dont know how people get the info early. I just hope its something fresh. Feels like the same thing over and over since they went to weekly

The info comes from the KP events page. It's sporadic, though. 2 weeks ago we knew what the races for today would be. As of now, there's no info on the races that start in a day and a half.

Nice one! That chicane is my favorite place to overtake although often there is a little contact, usually depending on the color of the flag being overtaken lol. Outisde or inside, the Huracan slices through that chicane like no other. Plus a better corner exit makes it easy to overtake right after as well. Most people don't dare to play chicken in the following high speed right.

Undercutting in the sharp right before the bus stop works like a treat as well. Merely the suggestion of preparing a dive on their inside will make them brake later, brake earlier and undercut. However beware of those that still have a nose on your left going into the bus stop, some simply won't back down.

It's the final turn that always gives me trouble. I can't decide whether I should drop back to second or stay in third. The best line for the fastest exit is extremely vulnerable to dives and pushing you out. While defending the inside invites FF cars to undercut and push you off at corner exit. It's a choice between two bad things, take it wide, get dive bombed, take it shallow get undercut and bumped off. Often I end up hugging the inside in 2nd gear when I suspect trouble.
