For me, it's a means to an end. Sure, you could do some bashing, but I created a 2nd account to preserve my original one. I set a personal goal to get to 50,000 DR points. I'm not good enough to do it straight up. I'll only be using my original account to race when I know I'll be able to compete for a podium spot (gaming the system, for sure). Since there aren't a lot of car/track combos that I'm good at, I would hardly ever be able to race, without a second account, for which I don't care about it's ratings (that makes me dangerous :mischievous:).

There are a ton of people who are doing the same thing. I think it's more common than most people realize. And there are bunches of A+ drivers who just won't do Sport Mode races at all, for fear of losing SR and DR. Even when I'm not good at a certain race, I still like to have fun competing. So, the second account allows me to do that. I suppose there are a number of reasons that other people do it. Pigems is doing it to hide from the R.C.M.P., I believe.

Before I get smashed on for this revelation, I want to reiterate that it's just a personal goal. Just want to see if I can get there. I'm fully aware that it's not exactly the right way of doing things. I'm not gonna be using it to compare myself against anyone else. I'd like to see a poll of how many A+/S guys would be willing to do a rally race on their main account.

10-4
I’ve thought about a second one also, because I have a lot of time invested into my account. I’m sure tons of players do. Like you say if you are alien, it might not pay to get mashed up for a daily.
Lol on rcmp.
Noway was I tryin to hate, just askin. Sometimes I kinda feel like I should do sport mode more, because for example this week. I’m horrible at Fuji and I definitely don’t like it enough to work on it. It would be kinda nice to have a lower level account to use just to play more.
I guess I shouldn’t care since I am only playin for fun, but my personal goal is to remain at 99 and be competitive wherever the dr ends up.
I may end up with another account, but for example with this weeks races it’s not even worth it to me. I’d rather either practice mr gr3 or rally on Dirt Rally. If that title had a screensaver like sport, it would stay in the console on a week like this...
Next week gr x Tokyo one make, Fisherman’s ranch race c n700 with tuning, and race b gr4 Tsukuba 4 laps!
FTW!

Very enjoyable race today at Tokyo. Gained many places and overall it was a clean race. Back to SR-99 again. (And a much better livery for now )

Those road bump noises would also cause me to have a nervous break down I reckon. I did not realise the Japanese don't know how to build a road either.

I swear PD are just being lazy with their daily races now. We need different combinations instead of the same ones like Group 2 at Fuji, Group 3 at Maggiore, Scirocco One Make on Maggiore Centre, Group 1 at Le Mans and so on. Why not Group 1 at Bathurst? Group 2 at Interlagos? Combis on Broad Bean? There are many combinations that PD have either never tried or tried once, like Group 3 at Sainte Croix. They need to keep things interesting or people will just leave the game on the shelf.

I think PD wants to have two races a week at Japanese tracks, and if not a track, then as the Beatles White Album's John Lennon sang, "Let's Do It On The Road" ie Japanese freeways also fit the bill. Heck GT4 had a New York freeway course, there was a London one, some Italian hill villages - but those are not in Japan.

Easy enough for PD to change thaw - just deduct points every event that they don't race in.

Tryin to goof with diff cars, but it seems that for me mr is about driving the car more than racing my opponents.
There’s some quick ones and I can put up times that are almost equal to my best with fr, but not quite...There’s potential there but they are finicky.
My style is more consistency than super low time laps.
I’ve been seeing quite a lot of players in sport mode that are capable of much faster laps than me here and there, but while I can’t really do that yet, I can keep pumping out my time pretty well, and it seems mid pack that works out most times...
In sport mode, I wouldn’t really say I’m going for a win, more like pick up a spot here and there and try to keep it...
And if it’s a n car...STAY OFF THE TRACK DONT EVEN TRY. There’s a lotta skill to the n car guys, for some reason unless it’s toyota 86 n200 or A110 n100 with tire wear I am toast.

How about don't deduct points every time they get blasted off pole on the first corner by a B driver and lose 10 positions?

I wish the rooms I get in the B races were clean. Did another one tonight. Started last (15th) finished 6th. Blue B at the end. Tried my first race at Fuji this week. They gave me the pole, but he top 5 guys were within .2 seconds. Started by getting into T1 too hot, went wide and slid back to 5th. I hate the pole. It seems either I get punted in T1, or I blow it because I'm worried about getting punted in T1. Anyways, I settled in, had a bit of trouble from one of our Brazilian friends and got knocked off course a bit, but I got inside coming out of T1 on L3 or 4, and I gave him room but he cut inside to hit me, bounced off and spun. I got a 2 second penalty, but burned it without slowing before my pit. I started on hards, and went 8 laps before pitting for mediums. Came out in 5th, but took the lead the next lap as everyone else pitted. P2 reeled me in and was right on my tail the last 2 laps. The last lap my left front was 60% red and the right was about 50%. Held him off for the whole lap, but he under cut me in the last turn and got a better drive to steal the win. Had a couple of bumps and lost a bit of paint those last 2 laps, but it was just hard racing. I congratulated him in chat, and he said I held my line really well. Told him my tires were shot, and he said "yeah, thats what I mean". Nice compliment coming from an A driver. It was a fun race. I think I'll run the hards another lap next time so the mediums have more at the end.

Tell me if it's not these for next week...

Race A: Clio '15 at Alsace (3 Laps)
Race B: RCZ Gr.4 at Sainte-Croix C II (2 Laps)
Race C: R.S.01 Gr.X at Le Mans (5 Laps with X3 Fuel and X15 Tyres with Racing Hards and Mediums available.)

The dual user - having more than one PD ID - is to protect player's high DR scores. This happens three ways IMO:
1 - By racing only in races they are good at.
2 - By practicing in those races with their secondary ID.
3 - By racing as low rated drivers - E, D, C or B etc - they beat players rated higher than their fake secondary lower rated status, hence making it more difficult for those players to get to A+.

Point 3 is the worse thing about it IMO.

PD should use not IDs, but the internet address IMO.

Perhaps too, PD should re-set everyone's scores every 6 months. The first month might be lots of fun too.

My feeling is...I have learned the tracks I like, and practiced to drive on them. I race decent on those.
Like Interlagos, I hated that one at first now I like it.
I generally put my driver name on liveries and post here about my races, more to ensure I don’t drive like a jerk,
Plus I know people have replays and it’s a small world.
Its not necessary for me to do another account...yet.
I raced more the prior two weeks than I have in a long time, since I liked the tracks. At this point, I still kinda like knowing my rep is sorta on the line in each race. I kinda like the risk to sr of dealing with sneaky drivers...
It kinda adds to the fun in a way. I won’t race anyhow on tracks I don’t know or like.
My favorite thing in this game is battling drivers in different vehicles. 911 vs fr or fr vs fr gr 2, 3, or 4, and developing my racing style. I enjoy racing my way...
It’s my way...My way or the highway...

I would love to see a C race that spans 45+ minutes, multiple pits is the key, and open up tire compounds to whatever your strategy desires. Basically multiple pits for fuel at the very least. This would really be fun for me anyway.

Make it to where a C race is grueling but pays excellent (dr and SR) ;)

Snail Racing does 1 hour enduro races I believe. :)

Just turn off sr and dr and race these...

Maybe they should offer a sport mode ‘friendly’ once a month with no rating effect.

In all fairness, rally cars are not actually "raced" either. A weekly time trial would be good however. (this makes me think of a post for the "unpopular opinions thread".)

Here is a link to my replay share of the race I had last night. As I state in my comment, THIS is why I love Sport Mode. It can serve up a meeting of some great players giving it their all. IIRC there was only 1 or 2 DR B in here. The bulk of the field was A, A+, and S. The ranks were spread out and the Q times were very close. Everyone had a different thought process on how to tackle this race. I went for an early Mediums stint, and a late Hards stint.

Add this one to your collection. It deserves to be seen in game where you can cycle through the different battles.

Side note (because I was asked post race) I am driving on ABS default, no other aids, and the BB on my Lexus is 0.

I have 2 accounts but it started with GT5 so I could potentially get more cars and trade between my accounts and I thought I would try the online racing leagues (never did...) and would have a gtp name to race on them with.
In fact, I had forgotten about it until about a year ago and started using it again. I had only used it for GT5, no other games.

Ironically, I have done better on my second account than on my main. I race enough to get the daily bonus on both accounts. I think I do better on the second account because I usually fire up the main one first so after a race or two, I have my groove going by the time I get on the second one and race better. They are both B/S levels.
I have more than double the wins on my second account than on my main one.

I did a 1.32 after about 6 laps of trying, watched a 1.28 and there is no way they are driving that without CSA surely.

I guess you’re talking about Race C? They’re not using CSA, or any aids except ABS. At least not #2 in EMEA-region (Firestorm was #2 when I watched his replay, he could’ve dropped since then)

22 laps Mount Panorama GR.3 on the hour, 24 cars on track, with at least 2 pits, sign me up. 22 should be about 46 to 50 minutes including pits and is not easily divisible by 3 or 4 ensuring different pit strategies.

Nurb 24h 5 laps GR.1 on the hour with 1 or 2 pit stops. One with fuel saving, 2 if you want to go flat out.

Sarthe 13 laps GR.1 with 2 stops.

Did one race b last night. Started near the back and the front 5 all had regional top times, the pole sitter was more than 2 sec faster than me. I got rubbed out against the wall by the guy behind me into turn 2 and was 5 sec back in last by the end of the back "straight" and thats where i finished, although i did catch back up to be right on his bumper at the end. Back to race a, i dont know why but i am really having fun there. Still cant hit a 32.xxx in qualifying though :irked:

Hold on to your hats. Next weeks races are up:

Race A: Lago Maggiore Centre - N100 Provided Car - 6 laps
Race B: Nürburgring Nordschleife - N300 One Make Car from Garage - 1 lap
Race C: Mount Panorama - Gr.3 - 9 laps

So no Japan based tracks but also nothing not seen recently!
