...But I also abhor how the current system ultimately leads to two scenarios, regarding these trophies: they punish the act of increasing your DR, as you are eventually matched with opponents that are improbable to beat in regards to both qualifying and racing, and thus, they encourage deliberately dropping your SR so you can gain easy poles/wins against brainlets.

Yep - the better you get, the harder it gets. And its also easy to loose a lot of DR at times, like 1600 in one race as an example.

But ... the qualifying does give you some insurance. Yes - at most tracks its an advantage.

Some people also race with two names - and when they are confident, they then race when they can improve. I don't even know how to setup another name to race under.

Doesn't matter anyway for me - GT Sport saves itself and confirms everything is fine, and then it plays some music and provides me a black screen. Maybe Asia's server is broken ...

I enjoy, and usually do well at the Tokyo tracks. I've been running from the back so far. Best finish is 5th. I think I can podium with a semi clean group. My last race tonight I started last (P13) and finished 5th, but I waste a lot of time trying to get by people. Only had 2 seconds of penalties for getting slammed into a wall. The key seems to be keeping distance and getting a good drive. Most passes are either inside with a bit of rubbing going in (everyone tries to slam you into the wall), or when I see someone scrape the wall coming out I'll fake inside, then go outside and slide between them and the wall. The 4C is amazing here. I'll have to qualify this weekend and see what I can put down, and try for a win or 2. Best race lap was a mid 19.

I guess my experience was much worse. I started second and was punted on the corner exiting the first tunnel and sent back to last place. Gaining places was a painful endeavor since most drivers would either purposely block or set themselves up for hitting me into the wall as I passed. Ghosts would unghost often when you approached them too. If people were more clean, I think this combination wouldn't be so bad. I also like that PD is experimenting with GR4 given it's usually been reserved for the slower classes but as it currently stands, it's kind of ruined with it somehow bringing out the worst in drivers. That said, I'll likely give it another shot before it disappears, I could had been placed with an unclean group after all.

IMO Tokyo’s layouts seem to be best for certain sorts of cars. The central layouts seem best for N400 cars or lower, the east layouts are good for N500 to Gr.4, and the south layouts can be fun even with Gr.3 cars, maybe even Gr.2 & Gr.1. I’d love a Daihatsu VGT one-make at one of the central layout,ls, for example. And I also personally love how each reverse configuration isn’t a 1:1 reversal - this is most obvious in the south layouts.

I wondered how to set up a 2nd account too.

Setting up a new account in simple, make a new email address, then use that email to make a new PSN ID, then sign in to that ID on your PS4 and your done. :)

BTW, I also have a new super secret profile Mr @sturk0167 ;)

Does the new PSN id go through the PSPlus I already have? I won't likely make a new one until I "git gud" with this one. Just wondering.

I tested ABS weak versus default and found that ABS default is a must have setting for any tire wear race. It's not even close.

Also, 7-8 laps on Hards and 5-6 on Mediums seems like a winning combo. The Hards seem to be faster over 7 laps than the mediums. After 3 laps, the Hards are definitely faster. If you can stay smooth for the first few laps, you will be at least as fast or faster than a car on medium from laps 4 onward.

I pit on lap 7 or 8 depending on the gap to the car behind.

After a change to mediums, they first few corners are not that great because of the colder tires. I see a lot of folks go off on corner 1 coming out of the pits.

Completely agree with this assessment. Gr.4 at the Central layout doesn't really work (for me at least). The Tokyo circuits get a lot of hate, and PD haven't helped with this weeks combination. I enjoy the Tokyo tracks in general pretty much in the classes you have said.

I haven't tried that strategy but will have to give it a go. Medium tyres changing to mediums after lap 6 or 7 has been working for me but always ready to try something else that may give an advantage 👍

Very enjoyable race today at Tokyo. Gained many places and overall it was a clean race. Back to SR-99 again. (And a much better livery for now )

Very nice race. Interesting that you didn't get a penalty on lap 5 at turn 2. I could see you were trying to not hit the other car but given that contact was made and then he hit the wall I would have thought that would be a penalty in the current system. Maybe a sign that something has been tweaked, and looking at your inputs you weren't trying anything deliberate?
Anyway, as I said, a very nice race! It proves that clean overtaking IS possible in race B!

I'm having fun at Race A but it's frustrating that the clean line on turn 1 is an early brake but everyone else is late braking through it. Usually they'll taper off to dive bomb and bounce off of the wall at exit but I've been rammed a few times from some kook thinking he's going to late brake through my rear end.

I wonder why the guy in 1st took a pitstop.

Is that what he did? I had not realized that but was surprised to see him all of a sudden.

He probably was starting to mix with the crowd overlapping everybody and figured it be safer to take a pit stop get some distance. As long as he's far enough ahead & its a pass through pit he comes out with enough of a lead still he was probably not worried knowing our sloppy driving won't get close to him..

Or could of done it just to be all like Yawn this is so easy I can pit and still beat these sloppy fools

Lolololol

Just 2 races on my Euro account before heading off to work this morning.

Still C/S rated here.

Race 1 and started 3rd. Pretty uneventful race. Got to 1st by lap 3 and finished with a 5 second lead.

Race 2, started 4th. Another uneventful race, with the same guys starting ahead of me as race one, so knew where the were fast/slow. Took until Lap 4 to hit first and finished 4 seconds ahead.

Gained a huge 3191 DR points in just those 2 races, and finally got back to DR B after being demoted to DR D 67 days ago.

A third account? Geez. Does that tie you with @suprajef ? I'll figure out your account name, pretty soon. Or, maybe @Oshawa-Joe will. He got mine. I guess mine's not really secret. I gave it away twice.

I’ve been wanting to race the past couple weeks but my son is always on his account(the one I used to share with him) so I can’t use that one much, so I made a new one that I can use anytime. I didn’t hide the name very well though.

Snail Spec racing League is recruiting drivers of all skill levels. If you are looking for consistently clean, fair and competitive racing, I invite you to check out snailracing.com. Currently running 5 divisions, with races every Sunday night. If you are tired of the competition you've experienced in the "daily" sport mode races, check out this league.

I didn‘t get to race yesterday but I did just now. Fuji, 13 laps, Motul Autech, 8H-5M stints.

Managed to improve my Q-time to 1:32.5 and thus started 2nd. I got caught in a brawl between turn 1 and 2 and fell back to 5th. Seems everybody else started on mediums so I was at 1 when I pitted at the end of lap 8. I came out as 3rd with a 2s margin to 4th but that quickly increased. No. 2 went into the pits at the end of lap 10 and I was constantly closing in to the leader. Unfortunately I indeliberately cut turn 3 and got a 1.5s penalty. I nearly got the leader and at the end of lap 13 I was 1s behind. I served the rest of my penalty and came in 2nd with a 10s buffer to 3rd.

The guy who had pole finished 11th. So if I wouldn‘t have been caught in that brawl and if I wouldn‘t have gotten that penalty I would‘ve won. Well, too many „if“s. But I call myself winner of hearts.

DR-C at 6200 (+1300), SR-S at 99 (as is)

Is an alt account just an opportunity to bash?
I dunno just askin.
For me, it's a means to an end. Sure, you could do some bashing, but I created a 2nd account to preserve my original one. I set a personal goal to get to 50,000 DR points. I'm not good enough to do it straight up. I'll only be using my original account to race when I know I'll be able to compete for a podium spot (gaming the system, for sure). Since there aren't a lot of car/track combos that I'm good at, I would hardly ever be able to race, without a second account, for which I don't care about it's ratings (that makes me dangerous :mischievous:).

There are a ton of people who are doing the same thing. I think it's more common than most people realize. And there are bunches of A+ drivers who just won't do Sport Mode races at all, for fear of losing SR and DR. Even when I'm not good at a certain race, I still like to have fun competing. So, the second account allows me to do that. I suppose there are a number of reasons that other people do it. Pigems is doing it to hide from the R.C.M.P., I believe.

Before I get smashed on for this revelation, I want to reiterate that it's just a personal goal. Just want to see if I can get there. I'm fully aware that it's not exactly the right way of doing things. I'm not gonna be using it to compare myself against anyone else. I'd like to see a poll of how many A+/S guys would be willing to do a rally race on their main account.

i've been having lots of great racing in race A this week. was not expecting to, but i am really enjoying this combo. still can't cash in a 32.xxx I get an optimal under 33 in like 5 laps but just can't actually put it together. so far my lowest optimal time was a 32.865, i really wish i could lock it down.

i also spent a slightly unreasonable amount of laps last night running the 4c around Tokyo and a few more laps this morning. working on my left foot braking and trying to get accustomed to the race cars. managed to clock a 1.18.8xx with an optimal of 1.118.4xx
It still takes me three laps to get up to speed though, really not used to how hard you can push it through some of the corners

gettin close to dr A, hopefully if i get there i can stay there. my previous visits were very short lol

I think I figured out what it is. No sure yet, though. If it's the one I think it is, then yeah, you made it pretty obvious. :p

Should youngerskywalker go back to Jedi school??
He ollso punts me wide on first lap, nice rise tho, from 12th to 4th. Started 6th
Did only one race, seemed to be quite agressive...

Reminds me when there was a daily race with the Daihatsu VGT at East Outer Loop during the beta. Good times.
