Driving through you is worse. You can't see anything when their ghosts overlaps your car, then they go solid right in front of you and you can't go anywhere. All without any problems or penalties for the diver. Yet if you hit the diver that just went right though you and is now full on the brakes trying to saving the corner, you get a penalty! The game should reset them when emergency ghosting has to kick in. That will stop it quickly....

Actually - not always is it bad. I started the game collecting cars and to do so I needed money, so I drove the KTM on the oval; the bonus points in theory got one about 450,000 for 10 minutes, all up I think 13 minutes for 450,000 or so, plus heaps of experience (although I don't know what experience actually achieves).

The problem was - I only earned the bonus once in 16 races ... then someone here told me - look out behind you. I thought I was, but I did a lap with the view from behind the car - and sure enough, entering the long curve before the main straight, robot cars would suddenly go like a land speed record vehicle, come up, and touch your left side rear panel. That got rid of the bonuses because one had achieved a penalty.

So I drove all about up 90 odd races from behind the car.

Now, the funny thing is, I cannot drive that way on a normal Euro races track. But on an oval - I am fast driving that way. I won over 20 races last week at the BB track. And in one race, I was lapping the seventh car - and he merged with me, and stayed with me until the main straight, following my line precisely. Being behind the car - it was no problem, and the slow chap stayed with me for half a lap until the entry to the main straight where I guess it was not so easy to steer right. In a pre-race practice, I averaged in 10 laps under 33 seconds, including the first lap which is slower, so weirdly, that method can work. I also find it very easy to get close to a corner wall with that view, because on a corner wall, the behind view shows the side of the car, in its middle. You cannot see that from any other view.

Just saying ... ;)

Took my first dip into daily races tonight in months. First few races were pretty fun, good chance to try out the F1 GTR. The race at 1:00AM was only 2 other A drivers and a sea of B. Got punted off track lap 1 and again lap 2. Boy I don't miss that.

But it's a huge difference in sportsmanship going from the top few FIA lobbies to even the DR A filled daily races. Yikes.

Well, guess how they get all them wins to get to A, with an sr curve similar to heartbeats chart after running a marathon?

I don't even want to drive the F1 anymore.. and that was my FIRST time!

The damn thing is too perfect! I didn't get my Clean bonus because I ran over a "kerb" at pit entry. 2.4 seconds. Ridiculous.

Anyway, the seating position, the sound, the handling. Oh my, the handling. The real test was the Dipper. No MR spinning of the tail. No skidding under braking into and trailbrackng corners. iPerfecto!

Can't sleep, so I qualified. 8:12 will do for now, I'm getting pole every time (since I'm still stuck in SR.B) however I'm getting punted in over half the races to make it back to first place during the rest of the race. The problem is, SR is not going up. A triple star victory does not outweigh the punting in the other races. Currently down to 54 SR. T1 is no better on pole than unqualified in the middle.

However qualifying does have its perks. I get to see my car at the start of the race :)

That car is a pain in the ass. No decent flat surfaces to put my decals on  I haven't raced it yet as I'm not happy with my livery. @Invisigoth what have you done!

@sturk0167 You are right about the time zones, Brazil has gone to bed. It's now mainly Americans and a few Canadians racing.

Oh, nvm Chile is still awake

I'm getting matched with SR.S now (Still in SR.B) and that's an S/S driver with a nice dance and dive. Red rating for me for his antics, he gets blue

And 🤬 Argentina.

That's why mine is hot pink, black "Other" and "all white "McLaren" on the side. Can't miss it... or rather can't hit it. ;)

My original plan this week was to not do any qualifying at Mount Panorama, just start at the back and benefit from the carnage at T1. Then I realized that I would be divebombed at T2, put into the wall up on the mountain and be pushed into the sandpit at skyline. So I did some qualifyinglaps on Monday. I used a bunch of cars, the Aston Martin, one of the Lexus’s, the RSR and the Lambo. Ended up with a useless 2:6,400 with the BMW. The blue one. Walkenhorst??

Yesterday I was supposed to try some more cars. The first lap (not pushing, just wanting a ghost) with the first car (GT-R), was a 2:6,004. So I ended up with sticking with it. I’m now down to 2:4,985, with an optimal time of 2:4,537.

I’ll try some more cars tonight, but I’ll most likely stick to the GT-R.

I'm switching to Bathurst, starting 2nd on Nord is deadly, can't catch a break, punted every single race. I do climb back to second place yet the damage is already done, red rating for getting bumped. Down to 58 SR currently and getting matched with D/E drivers since it's the middle of the night. In the last race the D/E driver behind me punts me off, then stalls a few corners later as he gets thrown out of the race (DQ), I can't avoid his suddenly stalled car and I get a penalty :banghead::banghead::banghead:

However still no throw back to race select screen. One thing fixed, only took half a year

One improvement already, only one SR.E driver in the room.

The new car is oddly stable, like it's on rails. Fast, yet the brakes aren't that good though. Got to brake early, thus get punted. Not that it really mattered as the punters didn't bother to brake at all coming from far back. Luckily the race is long enough to get some SR after the first few laps are done. +10 SR. Back to the Lexus for the next one.

I thought your name looked familiar, we raced a few times on the nord today, I was on my alt account. I got tired of getting punted from the back so I qualified and got to an 8:11, I'm sure I can break under 10 if I stop over driving the car. my BB is at 0.

I find the lack of sub-2 times in EMEA an absolute disgrace :p Our aliens should get to work, Akagi is the only one who’s gotten into the 1:59s in the world.

I’ve dropped from 48th to 63rd since I set my Q time yesterday. Must be the F1 GTR’s doing. I’ll try it today.

Only +8 SR this time, the car is too pretty not to touch when I come by

I never touch BB, so at 0 as well. I suck at qualifying as I start paying attention to sector times and the pluses and minuses instead of concentrating on the road. In the race (when I don't get punted) my best so far is 8:41

The penalty system still isn't fixed, just one Argentinian in the room and he had to do this
6fx5Ni3.gif

Takes a short cut, doesn't even bother to brake, 4 sec penalty for me and red SR together with the other bumps from behind. PD fix it or split the server again.

To round the night of, not one, but two Argentinians bump me off in the final lap. Tag team punt buddies. The first one got a penalty for pushing me into the wall at Reid park, so the second one rammed me off at McPhillamy to give the first one enough time to scrub the penalty.

Anyway I had great respectful races with Americans mostly. The new car is a pain in the ass though. Crazy acceleration negating any corner exit advantage, impossible to draft pass, and annoyingly in the way over the mountain. It should be possible to out brake it, however I was building up SR and the penalty system can't be trusted. (Finally back at 99)

Your description of the handling was enough to make me feel ill. The description of the livery has me feeling nauseous :yuck:. I think maybe I will do one... Pink, blue and white with the words "Out of Service" on the front and the back.....

I've been doing a Sven this week, starting at the back at Bathurst and seeing what happens, I've finished every race on the podium but haven't managed that win yet. I used the Lexus last time we had this combo but when I tried it this time it didn't feel great (understeer), the M6 is much more consistant and is quite nice with its tyre wear on a controller. I might try qualifying tonight to see if I can score some points.

First race of the evening and it's Green Hell! I did one lap just to get a feel after missing last night and beat my qualifying time by 2s. Sadly that didn't help much on the grid, I started P7/13 on a mixed grid of DR/B, C and D. Only a few hadn't qualified.

I was getting harassed before we even got to the start/finish line . The harassment continued till I was able to get some breathing space on exit to Hocheichen. I pulled away for a bit, and nearly lost it at Aremburg. I went on to the sand, but kept the drift going and smoothly re-entered the track :scared:. Others behind me weren't so lucky :odd:.

Heading down from Adenauer Forst through the twisties another car caught up to me and started harrasing me. Somewhere between Wehrseifen and Briedschied I pulled aside and braked... hard. Without his security buffer in front of him he went flying past... and into the wall :p. From there I just focused on staying on the track as best as I could.

Race handling and qualifying handling are quite different so i had to adjust my braking points and lines. I managed to make a legit pass on the way to the Karussell. A little WRC, a little Initial D and I pulled a 5s gap from the guy behind me by the time I hit Dottinger-Hohe. I managed to keep it on the track through Galgenkopf, which helped . I managed one more pass on the start/finish strait because they were burning off a penalty. I finished P5 :D.

SR blue, DR up 400 odd.

Race C is was kicking my ass and finding the right car has proved a challenge. I qualified mid 2.04's. The WRX has always been my preferred Gr.3 car but have also been using the McLaren since it was new. I love the cockpit view (the only view I use) in that car once the height and draw is sorted. Although shifting the driving position to the middle makes it quite interesting through turns 6 & 7 as not quite adjusted to the width of the car. Race A is just to slow and boring for me. Does that 500 have a sequential gearbox lol? Race B at the ring, too much off roading for my liking and needs stricter track limits. My quest to A rating DR certainly took a set back last night, I've not dared to look.

No races again since I was too busy enjoying that beautiful McLaren. If it weren't for the minor understeer, the handling would leave nothing to be desired. Its straight line speed is also something else: it can reach 291 km/h on the Conrod Straight which is 10 km/h faster than the Supra  It also tops out at 302 WITH BOP ON, which is a testament to just how fast it is in a straight line.

On Bathurst, I can run the first half of the track on par with the #5 guy in the region, who has the fastest McLaren time of 2:00.434. I can't keep it going through the downhill section though. I have to work on that. Meanwhile, the top spot has changed hands; TRL_AUGH took it with a .040... in the R8? :boggled: What do the other two leaderboards look like at the top?

Edit: I haven't bested my Supra PB in the McLaren yet.

5 races at bathurst in two nights, two wins, two seconds and a full blown reset.

Honestly it's ridiculous, I had one bad race that was just chaos, like everyone was being insane. Yes i touched two cars by accident but hardly big hits and i was hit 4 times.

For the first time i passed 32k DR and was DR A ... for one race!!!!!!!! next race was the messy one and dropped to 15K. I mean freaking really, one race is way too harsh given the system's inability to discern who was at fault. That will take me a solid 2 moths to get back.

That sucks man, that’s the main reason why I run the second account now most of the time for Sport Mode. I went from 45k to 15k in 3 races before Christmas. I’m only running my good account now on combos I know I can do well at, I’m done risking all those hard earned points on races were a win only gains you 36 points but a 2nd place finishes loses you hundreds, and one bump front a jerk is all it takes sometimes and all that hard work can be gone in one race.

That's a little different though, I don't mind knowing where i really stand pace wise so just run the one account, if i am slow i am slow. But I am Ok at Bathurst, not lightening fast but ran a 2.04.5 in qualy so not a slug. I know how to race there too but one race of madness and i lose 17k of DR. Considering i was hit from the rear for most of those penalties it seems harsh.

Where i get confused is that we have 9 laps around there and it's a place where drivers make errors, lots of them. So why the hurry to pass? There will be ample opportunities to get by because almost everyone I raced with in 5 races slipped up somewhere on dang near every lap.

I am REALLY hoping for a penalty system adjustment soon. I got a 4 second penalty for being hit by a car that was hit by another driver, hit the wall, and bounced back into my path.

I'm in a holding pattern at 42000-44000 DR after having lost my A+ status testing races on ABS weak.

I can't seem to get my stuff together since then.

Bow to the fiddler, don't be slow! There's smoke on the Mountain, fire on the bow! I beat my Mustang time with the 4C ( i keep wanting to type C4 ). That had me starting at the dizzying heights of P13/19 as one of only 3 DR/Ds .

Auto start at least let go before Murray's so I could corner. The race was pandemonium and i was gaining places from crashes, but loosing them again on Mountain and Conrod straits. I started off on hards, got the fuel warning on lap 5, pitted and took on mediums.

If i hadn't needed fuel I think I could have gotten another couple of laps out of the tyres... I was digging the way the car was handling when I had to pit. The out lap was kinda hairy, but then I got back into the groove. I made the mistake of not having settled on a braking point land mark for Hell Corner so when the braking cones got taken out I lost a lot of time braking too early, so I was passed on Mountain strait yet again. I finished P12 :odd:.

SR blue, DR dropped by 70 something, which still leaves be finishing the night the highest it's been in the past 20 days of racing. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

P.S. No penalties for either race tonight :D.

Yeah that's what I am referring to.

I copped 4 seconds because a guy tried to pas sme on the inside into reid park, i mean that's an INSANE place to pass, just insane, as in the absolute worst corner on the face of the planet. He was half hearted, tapped my right side and spun himself out and i copped the penalty. Then i clipped the Dipper too tightly and copped another then a guy binned it at Forest's elbow and bounced in front of me after clouting the wall. Like 10 seconds in 3 corners. Done.

I cant remember Bathust being this bad previously. SR plummeting. Was on 99 going into this week. Losing SR every race. How do you stop people tapping you from behind?

I’ll be out soon, I’m playing with todays new toys. :)

Got my Race A time down to 7.1, still sitting behind @Rexracer702 on my friends list though, great lap man! You’re only .5 behind Lester. I did manage to squeak squeak by @Oshawa-Joe by a couple of tenths though. :)
I was stuck for a while with an 07.5, then BAM, I got my 1:06. Tried a bit yesterday to beat it. I ran 20 laps with only 2 out of the 1:07's. I had a string of 7.0 and 7.1 and almost all were below 7.5. I only managed one other 06 since I set that time. I REALLY want to get a 6.8 or better, and I've gained on my ghost by almost .2 in the 2nd sector, so I think it's possible.

Now I need to work on the Nord and paint my McLaren for Bathurst so I can do something there.

Great Lap man!! It’s a tough little car to carry speed around corners in. :)

I just got my Nurb time down to 8:08.1, I think I’m done chasing it now, that will be a tough one to beat. I got lucky a couple of times and not only got away with two bigger than average mistakes, but came out of those corners faster than the ghost I was chasing lol. I doubt I’ll be able to beat this one. :D

The McLaren is a blast to drive, you’re gonna love it. :)
