2:09.1 in the Evo with an optimal time of 2:08.6, honestly the TT is cancer, I can’t even count how many times I’ve been punted by an impatient Audi driver after one of the straights, I lost 4K DR to only regain 5 k DR in the same week.

I nice little tip regarding the Audi's, if you have one behind you near the end of the a lap and your in 4WD. Slow it down at the first right hander at the chicane and then get yourself a good run out of it. That should prevent the Audi from catching you and overtaking on the straight, and they won't get close enough to you to punt.

Had some pretty clean racing the other day during the Suzuka Gr4 event, i never got above 8th in any of my attempts but its always been fun to see how far up i can get from being nearly or at last place at the start (the game thinks i'm at DR B rank but I don't feel like I should be :p)

Also been using the SLS AMG over my usual choices for Gr4 (NSX/Cayman) and its felt pretty good in all honesty! really nicely poised and balanced for the most part!

Should be the NA Miata...or an S660 last time we had an N100 race at Tsukuba AFAIK...

Ah, I completely forgot about the S660. That seems a more likely bet given PD like to recycle a lot.

My guess is '89 Eunos Roadster that was added last update. But it will be the Fiat 500. :p

One can hope it's at least something different to before but if it's the Fiat, I'd be convinced PD are trolling.

And can't see how Race B won't be dominated by the F1 GTR.
I won't even touch race B, next week. I usually take a beating at that track, and Gr.3 is one of my worst classes. :ouch:

I'm testing Gr.4 cars for the East Outer Loop, even though I know the Huracan will probably be the one to use. The x17 tire wear for that race should make pit stops compulsory. Some will probably no-stop, but I hate driving the last couple laps on red tires.

Well, I bettered my Q in race C to 1:37.3xx. Optimal was as low as 36.6, and I had a lap right after I set that time where I was almost .6 ahead at the hairpin, but I got sideways coming out. That NSX can be a handfull with no TC. Unfortunately, unless I drop SR, I don't see any more podiums this week. My last race had the regional #5 on pole (1:35.3xx:eek:) with the top 11 in the 35's and 36's. I'm battling aliens and they're not friendly! I managed to move up 6 places in one race, and haven't finished lower than I've started, so there is that. Maybe I'll switch to B and see if I can find a car to race that won't get molested by Audi's. I raced the Ferarri once. It wasn't bad. I guess I just need to go faster...

The Porsche was good last time.

show me the code. No reason same car same tires same turn can be taken at 80 in qualy and loop it at 65 in the race. Every car. Every time. Fuel blah distraction blah same input should equal same turn if its actually the same. I won't believe it till I see the code.

Better send Kaz an email then ;)

Are you accounting for being in a slipstream?

So what are next weeks combos?

Tokyo is where I suffer. But I really should get to know it better. I do think that track has the coolest pit lane though.

Had some good races at Suzuka this week. Maybe will get some in today, maybe not. Spending way too much time with the livery editor. I should have tried the Supra race but didn't feel comfortable enough in it to race yet. And the week is almost over.

No I was well behind already trying to catch up. I just suck, don't worry about it.

Had you possibly just been off track and had dirty tires coming back on? Or if you were off the racing line there is less grip available for stopping as well, all things to take into consideration. :)

Just make sure you don't get the pole position. P1 gets eaten up at the East Outer Loop before he can make it to turn 1. Due to the long straight and the slipstream, P3 is normally in the lead at the first turn. That's when the crashes and the penalties start kicking in. Although the most popular punting zone tends to be the final hairpin. :banghead: Be really careful. I have over 100 Sport Mode races at this track, and I'll be there, for sure next week, but probably not as sturk0167. :scared:

The last time this track came up my tactics was to stay at the inside approaching T1; not to attempt a pass but to stay away from the huge load of metal being piled up at the outside Armco. Divebombers usually fly in in the middle of the track so rather slow on the inside is the best way to gain some positions.

Definitely a solid strategy.

Caution: Keep an eye out for the move that you're about to see in this video clip. I know I've posted it here before (sorry for the repeat, but it seems to be a reoccurring thing), and the guy in this clip failed miserably (it was a one-make Skyline race), but since then, another guy successfully executed the "Tokyo pit wall bodyslam" on me (that was December, when we had the last Gr.4 race), earning himself the number 2 spot on my list (I forgot to save that replay, because I was verbally assassinating him in the post-race chat). I guess, just don't try to pass on the left in that spot.

Congrats to Nico_R in Nations Final. This is a throwback to when he was in my daily lobby last year. After he passes me, I hold on and pass him back after he gets caught by traffic. I managed to hold him off for a lap then stay with him (sorta).

Please ignore some of the awkward moments, my race craft wasn't as refined back then.

Hey guys, 1st post here, be gentle :D. Been reading through this thread over the last couple of weeks but thought I'd dive in. Only actually been indulging in Sport Mode for a few weeks as I only casually play for a bit of escapism every now and again. Been playing through 'campaign mode', if you like, for a while but thought I'd see how badly I compare online! Wow, that's a reality check!

But you know, I'm just playing for fun and getting enjoyment out of it and really appreciating some of your liveries - as a creative, this is what I spend most game time doing... I'm D rated, and considering how mixed up everything tends to get I don't suppose I'll get too far up anywhere soon. Seems like everytime I have a 'good' race and pick up some points, I then end up having a 'terrible' race and losing them all again. Hey ho. But I always try to play fair, get out of the way and avoid contact. I'd rather lose a load of positions because people are better than me or I make a mistake than gain some positions by ramming half the field of the road. And any negative SR I pick up is generally from a mistake, because I'm not particularly brilliant. But hopefully that's appreciated by you guys, in general, let alone if we ever end up in race together.

I'm a controller player, I don't play seriously enough to warrant a wheel. But I reckon I'd be a bit quicker with one. I struggle with the small alterations controller wise, not enough fine motor control - It's full lock or no lock and full throttle or lift and coast! Having said that, if I can set a qualy time less than +10secs vs top 10 then I'm generally happy, considering I don't get to play very often.

But I've really enjoyed some solid progress at Suzuka this week. I normally dread it tbh. Too much gravel. But I've had some fun races around it and I've managed on the whole to find a decent level of consistency (yes, I know it's only 4 laps!) and I'm a bit disappointed I haven't been able to spend more time with it. I've been competeing in the 4C and I was quite content with my 2.16.3 qualy time. This afternoon I finally got a race in with an all D rated lobby - rather than watchiing everyone drive off into the sunset whilst I languish at the back with Sir Ramalot and co - And it was flipping good fun. I started in 8th which meant I didn't have to mess around with auto drive launching me half way through the chicane and had a good race and a good battle with people. Found myself up to 4th at one point after everyone in front of me messed up a couple at a time between the esses and spoon and had good enough pace to keep them behind. I just got a bit excited through the esses myself on lap 2 and low and behold ran out of tarmac on the outside. But I finished 6th which is actually my best result (other than a start from 2nd and finish in 2nd in a fiat 500 fiasco non-event from last week).

Hopefully I'll get to share with guys over the next couple of weeks, what life looks like at the bottom of the ladder! If you'll have me! There's a few of us good guys down here, just trying to have fun and stay out of your way!

Oh, and by the way of an aside, that 2.16.3 was the best qualy time I could muster, after quite a few attempts. But then I smashed a 2.15 final lap in clean air with no slip stream. Not quick by a lot of your standards I know, but I think it shows that if you're in the zone, whatever level, your just in the zone. Get it right in the right circumstances and there's no reason why you can't run qualy times (or quicker with slip stream) in the race.

Looking forward to Interlagos and some inevitable blue flags in Tokyo.
Peace.

Good to meet you. It sounds like you're enjoying yourself. 👍 I still get nervous sometimes, when I first enter a race, after doing nothing but solo laps. Don't worry about not being fast, at this point. There's a dude named Sven who's done like 4,000 races, and he still winds up starting dead last, most of the time.
