I must say I enjoyed the alsace race today.

I beat the kill bill wagon.

Kill Bill's Pussywagon!

Yes I'm SR S but its always, without fail, pitched me against identical rated drivers for a good close race. Pitching me against people 9 seconds a lap faster is just crazy.
Been happening to me too lately, I used to average top 5 in qualifying but lately I'm sitting 8-15th, I'm getting pitted with a lot of DR A and S's.

Crazy isn't it? I'm holding off until tonight manufacturers anyway, can't stand Dragon Trail circuit and one make series do nothing for me! Livery editor it is then!

As far as the second video, well first you hit the Audi by going too wide. You're fortunate they didn't hit the wall and have their race ruined because of your mistake. They shouldn't have hit you back, but that would've been the end of it. However you then left them no room going into the chicane at the bottom of the hill. It's hard to tell where the Audi was at that point because you didn't have radar on, but it looked like they were almost side by side when they made contact, so you should have left them room instead of cutting into their line. Then you also basically try to push the Audi off the track going uphill because, as you can see in the mirror, they are still somewhat beside you. It may have been unintentional on your part, but you should have left them room. Overall, your actions were not very respectful to the Audi driver.

You should always have the radar on if you're near other cars, and especially if you're trying to pass them. You were blind to where the Audi was and assumed you were ahead of them when you were not. (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't do all this intentionally) You didn't have the clear position and should have left room on the track. You initiated three actions which could have ruined the Audi's race. Was the Audi being too aggressive in the uphill contact? Maybe, but at that point I would've been pretty mad too.
Thank you for your time and feedback. Of course I'm trying to race clean and fair as possible and maybe I was to greedy on the Audi. At that moment it felt like a good fight but afterwards I had doubts. That's why I searched back the moment and made a video and asked for feedback.

I don't see what I could do at T7 (the long turn) though. He was off line when he started the turn, going wide all the way (like in T1) and we were both driving another racing line. At the end of the turn I got of the throttle for a moment, and believed he had some room on his right side. And as I can see he had. Before the chicane (T8) I indeed thought I passed him in the braking zone. I didn't see him anymore and was hoping he would appear in the mirror, then we clashed and he was still besides me. So I have some doubt. Should he let me pass? At the end of the braking zone I was cutting the corner to give him room and my car was in front of his. And I didn't missed the corner so I was not just doing something or braked to late. Or did he on purpose let his car besides me because he couldn't take it that I won on braking after the T7 clash?

I will put on radar. I hope I will get used to that soon. I learned my lesson and wish I have more patient next time. I was too greedy and should have wait. I was faster after all. I'm glad you guys told me that I was wrong. This will make me a better driver I hope..

The Raptor Alsace race is another fun one. I’ve encountered a lot of people that have probably never driven the Raptor before in-game.

Don't you want to improve your DR then?

If you beat some of those guys you'll get a big DR boost. If everyone quit because they can't live with the qualifying pace of the faster guys, there'd never be a full grid.

Fun Gr.4 race today on Dragon Tail, drove the Audi TT no assists(except ABS), qualified with a 1:46.2 , not bad at all. Was 3rd place in grid against a Vantage and 458. Had a good start but Vantage driver was driving slow in beginning and messed me up, allowing two drivers behind us to try battling me now. So I got rid of them but lost the Vantage driver and the 1st place guy. Was pretty lonely in third after the pit.

The Huracan is a beast at Dragon Trail, 1:45.4 with it so far. I'm sure that car could be #1 in better hands. Top time in my region is 1:44.2.

Nice to hear there's a greater variety of cars showing in gr.4 now. Haven't tried it since v1.11 update.

I had one of the best races just now on Dragon Trail, polesetter left before the start, I was in P2 then and followed the leader. After some time i realized I won‘t catch him and switched to FM2 as I had a comfy gap to P3. Pitted in L5 while P1 continued, then had a full attack out-lap and passed the leader just before the first chicane. I lost some times in some corners then but gladly he did too :D awesome race and perfectly executed undercut 👍
Victory #2 today, #9 overall

Not really, no. I have a disability that affects my arms and muscle control so being fast and consistent is not something I'm capable of. I can drive a decent lap and be competetive sometimes (disability strength varies on a daily basis) but i dont want to be in a group against people i cant even race against for a single lap. I got up to low B once and it was impossible for me to have anything that resembled a race, I was always last and would even get lapped. It made the game completely unenjoyable. No, im far happier in D where people have a low rating not just cos theyre crap, but because maybe they are like me and cant physically be competetive. (This is one of the reasons i hate the driving aid snobs - if it wasnt for driving aids i wouldnt be able to drive at all!)

That it is, I did two Dragons Tail races, one with the RC F and other with Huracan and I had better results with the Huracan. The RC F didn't play nice after the 3rd lap when tires were barely 20% worn and nearly spun out multiple times, perhaps I should've played with brake bias a bit more. I was beating the Vantages with the RC F but once the tires said nope, I fell back to 12th for the rest of the race. Then I finished 3rd with the Huracan...

1:44 is nuts! Fastest I see is 1:45 in Americas and I can only get 1:48 atm, funny since Dragons Tail is my best track in GTS.

Ah, apologies - I was not aware of your situation.

If you want easier matching, at the risk of bumpy races, then drop your SR to B.

If you want to get matched with people that are of the same competitiveness as you don't do anything about trying to alter your DR/SR, just race as many races as possible and feed GT with data so it can provide a better matching field of competitors to you. If that means loosing a few races and being lapped, so be it.

I did try to nuke my DR/SR once to get opponents that're easier to beat. Turned out to be a not so smart idea as they were constantly bashing me off track and when I catched up they were just in my way and kept blocking me. Not good at all and even worse on the NoS :banghead:

No appolagy needed chief but thanks. I entered the Gr4 just now and it put me back with D rated guys, so much more enjoyable and fun - and so clean too, not a single bump, nudge, show of impatient aggession. I love being D-S!

Matchmaking has a random element.. sometimes you are the fastest in the matchup, sometime the slowest, usually in between. there will always be 'clustering' which makes you think there is a pattern but there usually is not. Just sometimes that slow guy at the back of the grid you almost lap in a lot of races is you.

I've just had the best race on Dragon Trail, for context I had pitted early to gain track position on lap 3 (from P9) so my tyres were a little worse than the Mazda (lap 5) and the Aston (lap 6). It's also a nice contrast between a race with players who respect each other and those who don't.

With hindsight I probably could've lifted more after the Aston hit me but he was driving a bit erratically so I won't lose any sleep over it.

Before going to bed, wanted to see if I could put in a top10 time at Dragon Trail.

Half a sleep and tired but still managed to do it. :) could probably take a few tenths with more time and fresh muscles but I'm happy I entered the 43s.

This afternoon Gr4 Dragon Trail, nothing but bad racecraft and plenty of argy bargy. After 9pm, amazing respectful fast racing. When you get the right lobbies, which is the majority of times for me, the racing is fantastic, especially considering it's just public matchmaking. Just goes to show that the time of day you race can have a big impact on your race experience and enjoyment.

Hey guys, first post in this thread, and I'm nowhere near as fast as you lot (@zzz_pt - 1:43s??!).

However, just wanted to say that the last few daily races have been incredible - the GR3 at Yamagiwa and the GR4 at Dragon Trail especially. I'm B/B and I've had some really close races with careful, respectful opponents.

When it all comes together, this online racing malarkey is soooo good.

(Disclaimer, PSN is mannjonusa - apologies if I've bumped you haha)
