First I was racing with a high 2:06 time, starting down to 19th and making up to 14 positions in one race. Then I updated it to 2:04 and started more to the front, which ironically was were the bad stuff started!

The further up you start, the more people there are to ream you! :p
 
Haven't raced today yet - loving the car selection on the update - fc hell yeah!!
Also my first time top of a leaderboard :dopey: 1:54.8 at the nurb, not sure how long it will last though.

I'm still waiting for the new update to load. So they added an fc and that's the one make for today? If so woot! I *can* pretend to the the White Comet of Akagi! :lol:

Yeah its fc at tsukuba I think, gr3 nurburgring, and I can't remember race c.....

Just did Race A. Remember people, those aren't apexes, they're clipping points! And the judges say "one more time!" :lol:

Finished last because I didn't have a handle on the car corner smoothly. At least I remembered the track! Not as hard as the wet lap challenge from GT4!

Todays races:

Race A: Rx-7 GT-X at Tsukuba Circuit - 6laps (New combination, yay!?)
Race B: GR.3 at Nürburgring GP - 4 laps (see me there)
Race C: GR.1 at Monza - 11 laps (nahhh)

FIA GT Nations Cup: GR.1 at Monza - 14 laps (same as Race C? Y tho?)
FIA GT Manufacturer Series: GR.4 at Brands Hatch - 16 laps (hope we dont see short shifting M4s anymore...)

Did one lap with the Vette on Nürburgring and ended up in the Top10. First time ever I've seen my name there :O

Finished Race B. What a disaster! I joined the race late, so on the grid dead last. Knew that wasn't going to do me any DR favours. Decided to take the Gr3 Viper out. Forgot that was a drift car and apparently even the road setting was screwy. I was expecting a faster version of the Gr4 car with the same stability. I kept spinning out coming out of corners as soon as I gave it some welly. After a seriously crappy race I discovered tc set for 1!

I'm sure I'll be back to my usual 1 point in no time :crazy:.
 
@Philtaylor17 Nice time, Benito-Raul just beat it last time I checked, he is also seriously quick, even ran a 1'54.8 in the race. :eek:

Me meanwhile finally got back to S safety (99) only for one race to ruin all the hard work, which meant some more races where I'm at least 1.5 seconds faster than the other drivers which is hardly fair on them but it's not me doing it it's the stupid penalty system, even though they claim to have changed it, it's still the same. Get a slight touch from behind and it's a 1 second penalty to us both, if I touch a car like that I get a 6 second penalty most times and my opponent nothing. Lag is obviously confusing it and counting it as if I hit them real hard, another thing they claimed to have sorted, maybe eventually they'll get it right.

Apart from the new content all this update has done is add more bugs and glitches, the sound one is particularly strange.

Thanks :) yeah he went half a tenth up on me - blast :lol: although if he is running those times in the race too then fair play the guy is clearly an alien :drool:
As for the race it was a joke, started on pole, guy in second dives down the inside fair enough, I cut underneath, no contact that I could feel, and a 10 second penalty! So i pull over and drop down the field, start to recover through the lap, only to get rammed in the first corner by a vette, and then slapped with another penalty :banghead: having read your experience too it seems the penalty system is thoroughly broke right now and it's ruining races
Edit - having just checked my s rating has gone from S to B in one race :sick: pd really need to sort this soon....

Wow it even happens to you. Remember this is something they claim to have sorted in the update too. It seems high rated drivers are at fault for every contact, even when you are not and are punished accordingly whereas drivers lower rated than you can get away with more and even if they get a penalty it's less than what you would get had you done the very same thing. What on earth possessed them to come up with this system.
 
Daily A so I could try out the new course. First race clean went up a position and finished 3rd while battling 4th through the last two laps. 2nd Race on the inside of the corner both times get overtaken by guys who cut low and make contact pushing me up the track. Guess what? 3 second penalties both times for me even though they took bad lines and smacked into me. One guy even hit the passenger side door clean on and got no penalty while I got slapped with one. Can't stand this game sometimes and I don't play enough to be this frustrated over it. I get very little time and once again it's ruined by a bad penalty system. They just need to get rid of it all together and let us smash cars around the track. It's pointless to have if it doesn't work /rant.

Somebody just did a 1:54.6 - the frustrating part is I know where those 2 tenths are aswell but I'm firmly in race mode now

Sounds like we're all having issues... I do like having a penalty system, It's much better than being punted off all the time, just wish they would fix it. It wasn't perfect before but this is worse by a long way....

I don't, I steal time in between every day stuff. A and B are usually only 8 minute races which leaves 12 minutes for cooking, cleaning, eating, etc. Plus I steal time from when I really need to sleep. DST has made things worse as I usually keep going until the races change which is at 3 am now.

I have an second tv in the living room with GTS on it, timer always counting down until the next race. I mostly race without sound or very low not to annoy my wife and kids any more than I already do :)
 
Fresh from the Nurb trying out the Nissan Gr. 2 (wasn't able to hit it under 6 mins :() and oh boi... My senses got so derailed driving that car :lol:
Went to qualify for race b (well, qualifying. I'm still at quali as I post this) and the Evo's famous exit snap oversteer is so tame compared to the Nissan Gr. 2! I need to relearn just how aggressive I can be with the throttle :lol:

Well, I figured out why I was struggling at Lago Maggiore yesterday. It's a more fundamental problem than I realized and it's one I'm not happy about.

Long story short, my strength has always been throttle control. Ask me to add and hold 80% throttle and I'll hit it just about every time.

Except in GT Sport.

It was only when I was really paying attention to the throttle bar in-game when I realized that my foot and mind says I'm adding more throttle than what the game was registering. A quick search and I found:



Sure enough, I practiced only my gas pedal and hitting anything over 50% throttle proved a frustrating and almost impossible exercise. In other words, my style of driving has been crippled and I'm either going to have to change it entirely or cross my fingers that my super old pedal set works and somehow gives me linear control.

Can't overstate how disappointed I am about this.

Still the biggest issue in this game. I tested today and everything the same for me. I thought that the new fanatec CSL option controller would have fixed this but the problem is still here...

Your fast couldnt keep with you in the race. I think i need to go wider in T2 and T4.

No racing last night, but spent the evening practising Mt. Panorama in group 3. Started off with a 2:11, down to about 2:09 after 10ish laps. Then watched a top 10 replay and after 28 consecutive laps managed a 2:05.0 which I was pretty pleased with given it's one of "those" tracks :)

Strange track for me, as I can never pull out a very good qualifying lap, but always manage to do well in races there.

I started every race there in 12th or 13th place, but finished in the top 6, with a nice boost to my DR! Not fast, but manage to stay on track.....

I came across you in dra races but I couldn't get anywhere near you mate. Great driving mate

I've been trying to adjust but it remains a struggle. Unnerving in dailies when I have to take more risks with the gas pedal than I want to. :ouch:
 
Someone was kind enough to punt me at T1, relegating me down to 10th. I got a glimpse of the B/S midfield and was once again presented with etiquette that I never wanted to see again. I eventually managed to get 4th but 2 bumps saw me get a 4-sec penalty in the end, putting me back to 5th. Had a good race with another guy tho :)
 
I tried out Tsukaba after 3 practice laps, that's a record for me, usually my max before racing is 2 :) Qualified 3rd first race, came in second, clean race bonus. Racing was very clean, still cautious and respectful. Although after a couple some people started learning where to dive bomb, how far you can cut and that the penalties are quite relaxed on Tsukaba, bumping is usually fine. Thus my clean streak of 5 was reset by the classic dive.

Anyway, a decent circuit, races the same as in GT5 of course, but would be more fun with racing karts.

Ah, that'll explain your leaving comment after the 12.40pm race today. I started at the back due to not qualifying, and it was very messy. at one point there were 3 cars trying to go around the hairpin and into to the Schumacher Esses! Looked like an easy win for you in that race; a 6 second gap?
 
My rating got destroyd today just because of side and back slammers and i got the penaltys from S to C! Did like the rating before more.......
