Did Race B (Mazda Roadster at Bathurst) excessively today. Every single one of them was clean, i had so much fun. I started from 2nd or 3th place most of the time, but 2nd place in the standing starts is like Pole Position, because you are on the outside for the first turn.

Results: 14 Races, 6 wins (out of only 12 total in Sport mode), from DR 36.5k to nearly 43k, SR at 99 all the time.
 
Race C looks fun tonight ...

Well it was not fun. 2 min penalty drops my SR from 99 to 87 ....:banghead:

Race C is good! Plenty of penalties going about though. Had three races tonight only managed 1 clean race. It’s not dirty it’s the little taps here and there.

On the upside managed to gain back 1500 DR that I lost from my fia disconnect last night 👍
 
First race B went fine although it feels like racing a wet diaper. However Bathurst is still more fun than watching paint dry in GR.4 on a fast circuit. However at the start of the second race I'm completely boxed in, cars in front, behind, either side. The inside car can't hold his line, I have nowhere to go and since I'm DR.A I get the 5 sec penalty. 9 SR loss for the race for that one contact. I don't think it was accidental either, he kept bumping people out of the way during the race, just sneaky enough not to get a penalty. Then next race I get disconnected while waiting for other players.

I don't know what to do anymore, just not qualify I guess. That went much better yesterday. Or go down to DR.B, only 5.9K to go.

Next race, last lap, car in front of me brakes way early on the downhill, right after the 200 marker. He has 3 bars so I see it happen too late, 10 sec penalty. I bumped him, he made the corner fine, still had plenty time to slow down. There was no traffic in front of him... So now I'm down to SR 80.

This game makes me so angry sometimes

This game should not unghost cars right in front of a pack of cars! Seriously? And I pay the ultimate price

I was in a great room. Several of the leaders were in the top 10. I was incredibly off pace, and was just hoping to salvage a good finish. This quickly erased any hopes of doing so. I rage quit right after the penalty.

Time for a couple of quick races over lunch. 2 poles a win and 2nd. I love this car!

Yep, saw you dominate that race disguised as B/S :) Odd, I just had a close battle with he who started in 3rd in the race we did, and it was clean. Of course a dirty driver needs to top up SR as well now and then, plus after checking, it turns out he is on my blocked list on psn, reserved for those who punt me off. Although nowadays I just hit report, less effort.

Bathurst completely turned around for me after hitting SR 80, with close clean battles, 2 wins on the way back up to 99 and then a couple more clean races making up plenty positions each time. Now I'm further away from DR.B again, the roller coaster continues. I guess the problem was I started racing too early. 7pm - 8pm EST is usually double dirty time.

That looks deliberate. His penalty wasn't done, looks like he hit the gas to unghost on purpose and get a boost. This ghosting for penalties needs to stop, it only gives people more incentive to serve them on the racing line. Penalties should not count down anywhere near the racing line. If you ghost on the racing line the game should cut your power and keep you ghosted until you are off the line and clear of traffic, then you get your throttle back. That way this behavior will stop very quickly.

Well I am not disguised intentionally, the one who shall not be named kept dive bombing me on the nurb and kept blocking and my anger got the best of me. Now I am very cautious with this Bathurst race, I already had a race earlier with a different racer ramming me into the wall

The driver definitely sped back up, but I am not sure about intent to be boosted. I just don't understand how a car can unghost with other cars so close! The viper right in front of me was mere centimeters away from passing through. What a horrible time to become solid.

Now their race is ruined because they get wrecked by me, and my race is ruined with a penalty. Yeah we were second to last and last, but there is always room to improve. Isn't that the goal of racing? No chance after that.

I had some of those "I think I can out brake you" types as well today. Luckily on the downhill stretch where I could avoid them and watch them overshoot. Btw what happened to the shortcut penalty for off roading there, several times a car in front of me went completely in the grass and no penalty. At least they ghost now so they can't knock you out when they rejoin the track in the worst way.

Best to be careful, 2 hits spread over two races had me down from 99 to 80 already.

Perhaps he didn't know better, yet as soon as the penalty time stops counting down, which is when you hit the gas, you become solid. PD did not think that through.

Well the he did it again lol, dive bombed right after t3, but i was able to take him on the next turn lol
 
PD needs to adjust the penalty ghosting quite a bit honestly. If you have a penalty you shouldnt be able to just drive right through other players as if they werent even there, it can be gamed and you can basically cheat. Not only can you get through someone whether they are slower/faster or not, but you are also now not being penalized for anything except for corner cutting. The game needs to be able to know what is coming up behind or nearby for at least a few hundred metres and at what speeds so that unghosting can be predicted by others and not cause them penalties for not knowing what is going to happen.
 
PD needs to adjust the slow turning understeer thing. It's like heavy steering(controller user). My M4 wouldn't turn at the hairpin and now my SLS won't turn at the same spot.

Even in 1st gear 10km/h, it's as if 50 people at pushing my car outward, while I'm trying to turn in.

That is indicative of their horrible low speed/lateral grip below 80 mph

Something else is going on. I'm in the controller menu and when I move the cursor left and right, the cursor moves faster to the right and slower to the left.

I've posted before how this is a new PS4. Controller never dropped.

Edit: when I move the cursor to the left, it's slow until I press the stick down while moving left. Then, it speeds up. Weird.

Alsace has been clean, but my controller is just not responding with left functions. It like the cars has a truck turning radius. Ruining my races.

Turned system on/off. Unplugged/plugged in charger.

I'll buy a new controller and try that tomorrow. Done playing. It's futile at the moment.

This is very unlucky situation. I understand your anger.
And it shows again a weak point in this penalty system. Poorly executed in several aspects but this is something new (for me) as @Sven Jurgens wrote, that it is abused and intentional, ... to hell with those all-day-gaming, bug-exploiting "smart" muppets.

I am really sad to learn that here is another trick we have to deal with, we have to watch out for this glitch also, and avoid those who exploiting it, instead of just driving and racing.

Have you tried to reset the controller. You can do that by pressing the button on the back of the controller with a thin long object (like a sewing needle or toothpick)
